Description

Title of the invention: Floor constituting at least part of a floor part of a vehicle body and method of installing a cross member of such a floor. Technical field of the invention

[0001] The present invention relates to a floor constituting at least a part of a floor part of a vehicle body and a method of installing a cross member of such a floor.

[0002] It applies, in particular, to the structure of a floor having a battery tray for protecting batteries of a motor vehicle, a transverse floor element intended to be used in the structure of the floor. Prior art

[0003] Certain prior art documents propose crosspieces connected to a battery tray. For example, publication document WO202379805 is known, which describes a floor with crosspieces.

[0004] The sleepers are welded to the side walls of the floor, but their installation is complicated due to over-stressing. Indeed, whether it is the floor or the sleepers, each part is subject to manufacturing tolerances, which means that they can be slightly larger or smaller than their nominal dimensions. Therefore, if a sleeper is larger than the nominal size, it will have difficulty fitting into the floor, which could be slightly smaller than the nominal dimension. Presentation of the invention

[0005] The present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks with a completely innovative approach.

[0006] More specifically, the invention aims to provide a technique which makes it possible to overcome the vagaries of the manufacturing tolerances of the sleepers.

[0007] These objectives, as well as others which will appear subsequently, are achieved, according to a first aspect, by means of a floor constituting at least a part of a floor part of a vehicle body constituting a vehicle; the floor comprises a lateral surface and a bottom surface; at least one cross-member extending laterally, said cross-member abutting on the lateral surface of the floor and arranged on the bottom surface of the floor so as to pass through the floor in the direction of the width of the vehicle; the cross-member extending between two ends and comprising an element of hat-shaped cross-section and comprising an upper plate, two vertical walls on either side of the upper plate, and a lip extending in a plane parallel to the longitudinal plane of the crosspiece and perpendicular to each vertical wall; remarkable in that at each end of the crosspiece and at each vertical wall there is a tab resting on the lateral surface of the floor; said tab being arranged perpendicular to each vertical wall and comprises a position return element.

[0008] The legs fit more securely into the side surface of the floor, reducing unwanted movement or vibration. This helps to keep the assembled element stably in place before the cross member is attached. This ensures that the cross member is always in the desired position.

[0009] Thanks to the means of recalling the position of the legs, assembly becomes easier and faster, because the elements fit together naturally and align correctly. This reduces the time and effort required to carry out the assembly, which can be an advantage in industrial manufacturing.

[0010] The arrangement of the legs provides greater resistance to deformation or fatigue of the materials, which extends the life of the assembly.

[0011] By reliably holding the assembled element in place, the tabs reduce the risk of assembly failure.

[0012] The invention is advantageously implemented according to the embodiments and variants set out below, which are to be considered individually or according to any technically operative combination.

[0013] In one embodiment, the position return element comprises a flat surface inclined relative to the vertical wall and disposed between the vertical wall and the tab.

[0014] In one embodiment, the inclination of the longitudinal plane of the inclined flat surface relative to the longitudinal plane of the vertical wall is between 35 and 55°, preferably between 43 and 47°.

[0015] In one embodiment, each leg has weld points holding the cross member to the floor.

[0016] In one embodiment, said tab extends in a plane parallel to the transverse plane of the crosspiece and arranged perpendicular to each vertical wall.

[0017] In one embodiment, the cross member comprises a plurality of fixing holes.

[0018] In one embodiment, the thickness of the crosspiece is between 0.15 and 2mm.

[0019] In one embodiment, it comprises a battery tray mounted under the floor and housing at least one battery.

[0020] In one embodiment, resin is disposed inside the battery tray or floor.

[0021] According to a second aspect, the present invention relates to a method for installing a crosspiece in a floor, it comprises the following steps: - a) positioning a crossmember in the width of a floor of a vehicle body constituting a vehicle, said floor comprising a side surface and a bottom surface; said crossmember having a hat-shaped cross-section and comprising an upper plate, two vertical walls on either side of the upper plate, and a lip extending in a plane parallel to the longitudinal plane of the crossmember and perpendicular to each vertical wall; at each end of the crossmember and at each vertical wall there is a tab extending in a plane parallel to the transverse plane of the crossmember and arranged perpendicular to each vertical wall; - b) slide the crosspiece until said crosspiece rests on the bottom surface of the floor and rests on the side surface; - c) weld the crosspiece to the floor.

[0022] The advantages, aims and particular characteristics of this method being similar to those of the floor, object of the present invention, they are not recalled here. Brief description of the figures

[0023] Other advantages, aims and characteristics of the present invention emerge from the following description, given for explanatory and in no way limiting purposes, with reference to the appended drawings, in which:

[0024] [Fig.l] shows a diagram of the assembly of the battery tray with the floor.

[0028] [Fig.5] represents a perspective view and shows a detailed view of the installation of a cross member on the floor.

[0029] [Fig.6] represents a perspective view and shows a detailed view of the installation of a cross member on the floor after welding.

[0030] In the description and the claims, to clarify the description and the claims, the terminology longitudinal, transverse and vertical will be adopted without limitation in reference to the trihedron X, Y, Z. Description of the embodiments

[0031] [Fig.l] shows a diagram of the assembly of the battery tray with the floor.

[0032] This figure shows a portion of a floor portion 1 of a vehicle body constituting a vehicle. Four cross members are shown, 2 positioned across the width of the vehicle.

[0033] The battery tray 3 is designed to fit securely into this determined space of the floor 1.

[0034] The figure illustrates the main components of this assembly, including the battery tray 3, the four cross members 2 of the floor 1, the fixing points and the connections necessary to hold the battery tray 3 in place stably. The diagram also shows the specific locations where the battery tray 3 is fixed to the floor 1 using bolts, screws or other fixing devices. The battery tray 3 caps the floor 1.

[0035] Also shown is a battery tray 3 which serves as a trunk for at least one battery or battery pack.

[0036] Naturally, the invention is described in the above by way of example. It is understood that a person skilled in the art is able to carry out different variant embodiments of the invention without departing from the scope of the invention.

[0037] [Fig.2] shows a perspective view of the crosspiece according to an object of the invention.

[0038] The crosspiece 2 is a piece, in the shape of a hat or a U, with lips 22.

[0039] This figure shows a cross member 2 extending between two ends. A cross-sectional element is in the form of a hat and comprises an upper plate 20, vertical walls 21 on either side of the upper plate 20 and a lip 22.

[0040] The lip 22 extends in a plane parallel to the longitudinal plane of the crosspiece 2 and perpendicular to each vertical wall 21.

[0041] A leg 23 extends in a plane parallel to the transverse plane of the crosspiece 2 and arranged perpendicularly to each vertical wall 21.

[0042] [Fig. 3] shows one of the ends of the crosspiece 2 according to the subject of the invention. Certain elements already described above are shown.

[0043] This figure shows an inclined flat surface 24 of 45°. The inclination of the longitudinal plane of the inclined flat surface 24 is relative to the longitudinal plane of the vertical wall 21. The inclined flat surface 24 allows two axes of rotation to be provided with a radius of curvature.

[0044] The two axes allow a deformation of the leg 23.

[0045] The legs 23 deform easily in contact with the lateral surface (vertical walls) of the floor and the crosspiece 2 can thus slide vertically in it.

[0046] According to another variant, it is a large curvature or a succession of two flat surfaces.

[0047] The position return element consists of giving a particular shape to the crosspieces at the level of the parts which will be welded to the lateral surface of the floor. The “spring” function is achieved thanks to these 2 rotation axes (2 folds constituted by spokes) allowing these tabs 23 to be deformed when the crosspieces 2 are put in place in the floor.

[0048] [Fig.4] shows a perspective view and shows the installation of a cross member on the floor 1.

[0049] Before commencing assembly, the crossmember 2 is inspected to ensure that it is free from defects, damage or contaminants that could compromise its integrity. Any need for cleaning or repair is taken into account.

[0050] The precise location where the cross member 2 is to be installed on the floor 1 is determined. Markers are sometimes used to ensure that the cross member 2 is positioned correctly.

[0051] The cross member 2 is carefully lifted and positioned above the intended location on the floor 1. Efforts are made to slide the legs of the cross member 2 on the lateral surface of the floor 1.

[0052] [Fig.5] shows a perspective view and shows a detailed view of the installation of a crosspiece 2 on the floor 1.

[0053] This figure shows how the two axes (folds) allow a deformation of each leg of the crosspiece 2.

[0054] [Fig.6] shows a perspective view and shows a detailed view of the installation of a cross member 2 on the floor 1 after welding.

[0055] The final diagram of the crosspiece 2 is shown, which is well positioned at the level of the floor 1 and it has two welds on each leg.

[0056] The invention also relates to a method of installing a crosspiece in a floor.

[0057] A first step consists of positioning a crossmember in the width of a floor of a vehicle body constituting a vehicle. The characteristics of the floor are found: the floor comprises a lateral surface and a bottom surface; the crossmember having a hat-shaped cross-section and comprising an upper plate, two vertical walls on either side of the upper plate, and a lip extending in a plane parallel to the longitudinal plane of the crossmember and perpendicular to each vertical wall; at each end of the crossmember, and at each vertical wall there is a tab extending in a plane parallel to the transverse plane of the crossmember and arranged perpendicular to each vertical wall.

[0058] The second step consists of sliding the crosspiece until said crosspiece is supported on the bottom surface of the floor and supported on the side surface.

[0059] A third step is to weld the cross member to the floor.

[0060] It is emphasized that all the characteristics, as they emerge for a person skilled in the art from the present description, the drawings and the attached characteristics, even if concretely they have only been described in relation to other determined characteristics, both individually and in any combinations, can be combined with other characteristics or groups of characteristics characteristics disclosed herein, unless expressly excluded or technical circumstances make such combinations impossible or meaningless.
