Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Stick for moving on water Technical field
[0001] The present invention relates to a stick with a float and a movable wall for aquatic activities.
[0002] It allows propulsion thanks to the movement of the front-back arm of a practitioner installed on any type of floating object such as a board, a boat, a kayak or skis. It also allows stabilization and gain in buoyancy. This stick can be used whatever the season, both inside a municipal or private swimming pool, as well as outside like at sea, on a lake, on a river, on a stream or on a pond.
[0003] The stick can be entirely made of wood, composite, polystyrene, plastic, carbon, etc. or made with several materials and substances defined above.
[0004] This invention consists of two parts (figures 1 and 2), a tube ([Fig.l] X (2)) and a float composed of two parts, one fixed and another mobile ([Fig.2] XI). At one end of the tube there is an ergonomic wrist ([Fig.l] X (1)) to accommodate a hand. The float is connected by its top to the other end of the tube (figures 1 and 2 XI (6)).
[0005] The first part, the tube, can be adjustable in height depending on the size and level of the practitioner as well as the activity chosen or the type of floating object used. The tube is inclined but can be positioned from 50° to 100° from the float ([Fig.8]) depending on the size of the practitioner and / or the choice of practice. The inclination also facilitates the penetration of the float into the water.
[0006] The second part is composed of a rigid float (figures 1 and 2 (3)) and a movable plate (figures 1 and 2 (4)).
[0007] The rigid float is hollow or filled, is composed at the front of a curved wall ([Fig.2] XI (7)) which provides a hooking system for the movable wall (figures 2 XI (9)) and another system for receiving the tube of the stick ([Fig.l] X (6)).
[0008] At the rear of the rigid float there are two parallel fins (figures 1, 2, 3 and 9 (5)), oriented upwards and separated by a rounded shape positioned at the front of the rigid float (figures 1 and 2 (7)). The assembly makes it possible to keep the stick in a straight trajectory both during its propulsion towards the rear and during its return towards the front.
[0009] The rigid float has a rounded shape at the front (figures 1 and 2 (7)) allowing better penetration into the water when the stick returns.
[0010] The movable plate is fixed to the rigid float ([Fig.l] (7)), the fixing allows this wall to open when the stick is propelled backwards in order to provide resistance and to close when the stick returns in order to reduce resistance with the water (figure (5)).
[0011] The movable plate is stopped by a stop (figures 1 and 2 (9)) present on the rigid float to thus provide a right angle when it is fully opened thanks to a system figure (1 and 2 (8))
[0012] The movable plate also has two parallel fins ([Fig. 1] and 2(11)) facing downwards separated by a curved shape. The assembly makes it possible to keep the stick in a straight trajectory both when propelling it backwards and when returning forwards.
[0013] The mobile flat plate ([Fig.2] XI (4)) allows, when the float is underwater and during the movement of the arm from front to back, to position itself perpendicular to the water thanks to a system allowing mobility (figures 2 and 3 (8)), and to be blocked by a stop ([Fig.2] to 5 (9)), for total support during the backward thrust of the float (figures 3, 4 and 5). The volume of water pushed back by the mobile flat wall because it is located in opposition to the water, serves both as resistance and support for better forward propulsion of the practitioner installed on his floating object. As soon as the stick is brought back, the mobile wall comes to rest on the float (figures 3 to 5) in order to avoid slowing down the return of the stick
[0014] The curved wall (figures 2 XI (10)) allows better penetration into the water during propulsion as soon as the practitioner pushes the tube backwards with his arm. On the other hand, it also improves penetration into the water when the practitioner brings the float back via the tube. In addition, this curved wall and the fact that the hollow float is filled with air or polystyrene facilitates the return of the float.
[0015] The vertical side walls parallel to each other (figures 1, 2, 8 and 9 (12)) as well as the fins also parallel to each other (figures 2, 6, 7, 8 and 9 (5) (11)) allow, when the float is pushed backwards, to keep the stick in a straight trajectory.
[0016] The float does not deviate from the requested trajectory as soon as it is pushed backwards. The water slides over these two side walls, keeping the float in a trajectory parallel to any floating object on which the practitioner is positioned. These walls also play the same role when the practitioner brings the stick back. These walls also prevent the whole thing from drifting.
[0017] Opposite the connection (figures 1, 2, 7 and 9 (6)) between the tube and the float, there is a curved part (figures 1, 2, 7 and 9 (13)) which increases the stability of the stick. This part also allows the float not to deviate from its initial direction and to avoid vibrations when pushing the stick in the water.
[0018] The whole thing provides the practitioner with increased stability for better balance and for optimized propulsion when positioned on any type of floating object.
[0019] The invention aims to improve existing propulsion devices. Indeed, this system allows, while maintaining a certain stability and buoyancy, to propel oneself with any type of floating object.
[0020] In the attached drawings, given as a non-limiting example of one of the embodiments of the invention but also of the size and thickness of the components:
[0021] Figures 1 to 5: represent the two parts of the stick seen from the side
[0022] [Fig.6]: represents the two parts of the stick in a horizontal position seen from above
[0023] [Fig.7]: represents the two parts of the stick in a vertical position seen from above
[0024] [Fig.8]: represents the two parts of the stick seen from the side
[0025] Fig. 9: represents the two parts of the stick seen from three-quarters
[0026] The positioning of the various constituent elements, in particular the vertical walls parallel to each other, the curved wall, movable wall and the curved part give the object of the invention a maximum of useful effects which had not been, to date, obtained by sticks.
[0027] The present invention relates to a stick for propelling any floating object positioned on and in the water, usable in all seasons on a river, a pond, the sea, in a swimming pool. The stick is characterized by two parts, visible in figures 1 and 2, a tube 2, visible in [Fig.l], and a float composed of a fixed part 3, visible in figures 1 and 9, and a mobile part 4, visible in figures 1 and 9. The connection between these two parts is rounded at the front 7, including two small vertical flat walls 12, curved parts 13, 14 at the end of the two flat parts 3, 4, allowing, when the float is underwater and during the backward movement of the practitioner's arm, to position itself perpendicular to the water for total support propelling the practitioner forward installed on his floating object such as a surfboard, skis, a board, a paddle, a kayak, a canoe,....
[0028] The tube has at one of its ends a float also providing a movable plate 4. The connection is located at the end and at the top of the float 6 to push or bring the latter back. The other end of the tube accommodates an ergonomic wrist 1. The tube is inclined and can, thanks to a 6 system, be positioned from 50 to 110° from the float for better penetration of the float into the water. The float has walls linked together such as the curved wall 7, the vertical flat walls 12 and the movable plate 4 as well as a curved part 13 for optimized and rectilinear propulsion.
[0029] The float is hollow or filled with polystyrene, and the curved wall 7 allows a better penetration in the water when the user pushes the tube backward with his arm or when the user wants to bring the float forward. This curved shape, and the fact that the float is filled with air, facilitates the return of the float.
[0030] The vertical flat walls are lateral and parallel 12 to each other, as is the presence of the four fins 5, 11, also lateral and parallel to each other. The vertical flat walls allow the stick to be kept in a straight trajectory when the float is pushed backwards. These walls also play the same role when the practitioner brings the stick back. The water slides over these two lateral walls, keeping the float in a trajectory parallel to any floating object on which the practitioner is positioned.
[0031] The curved portion 13, 14 is located above the float and ensures better stability and a straight trajectory. In addition, it also prevents the stick from deflecting and vibrating when pushing the stick into the water.
[0032] The stick is formed of two parts assembled to allow the practice of aquatic activities.
