Abstract

The invention relates to a body ornament (1) intended to conceal the visible part of a medical device implanted or fixed to a body part, comprising a covering pad (2) having dimensions substantially identical to those of the visible part of the medical device and having an underside coated with a repositionable adhesive, a flexible flat cover piece (3) with dimensions larger than those of the covering pad (2), said cover piece (3) comprising an inner portion intended to be affixed to the covering pad (2), a peripheral portion surrounding the inner portion adapted to be glued to the skin, and perforated areas (33) arranged relative to each other so as to allow vertical expansion of the inner portion relative to the peripheral portion. Title of the invention: Body ornament article intended to conceal the visible part of a medical device implanted or fixed to a body part. TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0003] Solutions have been proposed in an attempt to improve the aesthetic appearance and limit the psychological impact linked to the presence of a visible part of a medical device implanted or fixed on the human body.

[0004] Among the proposed solutions, one can cite a catheter protection device with a decorative shape, such as an animal. For example, US patents 10441751 and EP121210 describe such a device. However, this type of device remains bulky and not very discreet.

[0005] In the case of a gastrostomy button, a decorated cap can also be used, for example, by applying designs / logos, inlaying stones, or engraving. The cap is removable. It can be taken off and replaced with a cap featuring a different design. For example, US patents 8287502 and 6789542 offer such caps. While these solutions improve the visual appearance, they do not conceal the volume of the visible parts of the medical devices; the presence of the medical devices remains clearly visible.

[0008] To this end, and according to a first aspect, the invention proposes a body ornament article intended to conceal the visible part of a medical device implanted or fixed to a body part, comprising a covering disc intended to be fixed to the visible part of the medical device, having dimensions substantially identical to those of the visible part of the medical device and having an underside coated with a repositionable adhesive, a flexible flat cover piece, larger than the covering pad, comprising an inner part intended to be affixed to the covering pad and a peripheral part encircling the inner part suitable for being glued to the skin, the cover piece further comprising openwork areas arranged relative to each other so as to allow vertical expansion of the inner part relative to the peripheral part.

[0025] With reference to Figures 1 and 2, an example of an embodiment of a body ornament 1 according to the invention is described, intended to cover the visible part of a medical device 50 implanted on or attached to a part of the body (C). In the example illustrated in [Fig. 2], the visible part of the medical device 50 is a circular insulin pump casing. The visible part of the medical device will hereafter be referred to as the medical casing 50. It is understood that the description of the body ornament that follows applies to any type of visible part of a medical device and that the invention described in the example is not limited to the illustrated medical casing or the associated medical device.

A body ornament (1, IA) intended to conceal the visible part (51) of a medical device (50) implanted or fixed to a body part, comprising: - a covering pad (2) intended to be fixed to the visible part (51) of the medical device (50), having dimensions substantially identical to those of the visible part (51) of the medical device (50) and having an underside coated with a repositionable adhesive, - a flexible flat cover piece (3), having dimensions greater than those of the covering pad (2), comprising an inner part intended to be affixed to the covering pad (2) and a peripheral part encircling the inner part suitable for being glued to the skin, the cover piece (3) further comprising openwork areas (33) arranged relative to each other so as to allow vertical expansion of the inner part relative to the peripheral part.

2. Body ornament article (1, IA) according to claim 1, characterized in that the openwork areas (33) are distributed so as to define a concentric pattern.

3. Body ornament article (1, IA) according to claim 1 or claim 2, characterized in that the openwork areas (33) are made up of circular, semi-circular, curved and / or wavy cutouts.
