Description

Title of the invention: Vehicle seat slide

[0001] The present invention relates to a vehicle seat slide and a method of manufacturing such a slide.

[0002] More particularly, the invention relates to a vehicle seat slide comprising:

[0003] - a fixed profile, intended to be attached to a floor of the vehicle and extending in a longitudinal direction,

[0004] - a movable profile, mounted to slide in the longitudinal direction on the profile fixed, the movable profile having an upper wall extending in the longitudinal direction bordered by two wings extending below the upper wall in an elevation direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction,

[0005] - at least one support extending in the elevation direction, welded to the profile mobile.

[0006] In the technical field of vehicle seats, it is known to mount the seat on one or more slides, for example to allow the seat to slide forward / backward relative to the chassis, in particular to a floor of the vehicle, for example for the purposes of postural comfort for the user.

[0007] For this purpose, each slide comprises a profile fixed to the floor of the vehicle and a movable profile, mounted to slide on the fixed profile.

[0008] The seat frame is mounted on supports fixed to the movable profiles.

[0009] A support fixed to the movable profile can also be provided for each piece of equipment of the seat, at least one part of which must be able to slide with the seat, for example a seat belt buckle.

[0010] In any case, the support may be subjected to significant forces. It is therefore particularly important that the fixing of the support to the movable profile is of sufficient and reproducible quality.

[0011] To this end, the connection between the support and the movable profile is often ensured by means of welds, in particular welds made by adding material.

[0012] However, the shape of the support and / or the movable profile generally makes the welding area difficult to access, which complicates the fixing of the support to the profile. In addition, the welds are likely to generate “fizz”, i.e. shards of material can be projected towards the wings of the movable profile and / or towards the fixed profile and degrade the subsequent operation of the sliding connection and its service life.

[0013] For example, in the case where the two profiles form a ball slide, these balls can for example reach the balls or the rails in which they slide. these balls and modify the surfaces of these elements, normally polished beforehand, or interpose themselves between these elements. We therefore understand that the subsequent sliding will not be optimal.

[0014] One of the aims of the invention is then to propose a motor vehicle seat slide whose support is welded to the movable profile in a simple, reliable and reproducible manner and whose service life is improved.

[0015] For this purpose, the invention relates to a vehicle seat slide comprising:

[0016] a) a fixed profile, intended to be attached to a floor of the vehicle and extending in a longitudinal direction,

[0017] b) a movable profile, mounted to slide in the longitudinal direction on the fixed profile, the movable profile having an upper wall extending in the longitudinal direction bordered by two wings extending below the upper wall towards the fixed profile in an elevation direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, each wing comprising an internal surface facing the upper wall and an external surface opposite the internal surface in a transverse direction substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction and to the elevation direction,

[0018] c) at least one support extending in the elevation direction, welded to the movable profile, and comprising i) a contact portion comprising an internal surface, placed in contact with at least a portion of the external surface of one of the wings of the movable profile, and ii) a portion for receiving a seat frame or seat equipment, the receiving portion extending above an upper edge of the contact portion in the elevation direction, at least a part of the receiving portion extending above the upper wall in the elevation direction,

[0019] the support being fixed to the movable profile by at least one weld point formed between the receiving portion and the movable profile from the upper edge of the contact portion on the side of the internal surface of the contact portion.

[0020] Positioning the inner surface of the contact portion of the support along the outer surface of the respective wing makes it possible to form in the slide an edge corresponding to the upper edge of the inner surface. This edge is bordered on the one hand by the elements of the movable profile which are located above the upper edge, therefore at least the upper wall and possibly a fraction of the respective wing, and on the other hand by the receiving portion, these two edges forming near the edge a right or projecting angle between them.

[0021] Access to the welding station at the edge is easier from outside the support and the movable profile.

[0022] The welding between the support and the wing can therefore be carried out in a simple, reproducible and robust manner.

[0023] Furthermore, the edges of the ridge form protective surfaces against Any projections of material caused during welding are blocked by the receiving portion and / or by the upper wall and / or by the respective wing, so that these projections do not impact the elements forming the sliding connection between the fixed profile and the movable profile.

[0024] The slide therefore has improved operation and a longer service life.

[0025] According to other advantageous aspects of the invention, the slide comprises one or more of the following characteristics, taken individually or in all technically possible combinations: - the support comprises a support portion extending in the transverse direction from the contact portion and / or the receiving portion, the support portion being placed above the upper wall in the elevation direction and in contact with at least one portion of the upper wall, the support portion comprising at least one through opening giving access to at least part of the upper edge of the internal surface of the contact portion from the outside of the slide; - the slide comprises at least one additional weld point formed between the bearing portion and the upper wall above the upper wall; - a section of the receiving portion of the support, taken in a transverse plane, is chosen from a straight section, an L-shaped section and a U-shaped section; - the slide comprises a plurality of welding points formed between the receiving portion and the movable profile from the upper edge of the internal surface of the contact portion, the welding points being distributed along the upper edge in the longitudinal direction; - the slide comprises a plurality of supports, the supports being spaced apart from each other in the longitudinal direction. - the slide comprises at least two supports, each wing carrying at least one of the supports.

[0026] The invention also relates to a method of mounting a vehicle seat slide comprising:

[0027] a) the supply:

[0028] i) a fixed profile intended to be attached to a floor of the vehicle and extending in a longitudinal direction;

[0029] ii) a movable profile, intended to be mounted sliding in the longitudinal direction on the fixed profile, the movable profile having an upper wall extending in the longitudinal direction bordered by two wings extending below the upper wall towards the fixed profile in an elevation direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction;

[0030] iii) at least one support extending in the elevation direction, said support comprising:

[0031] - a contact portion, an internal surface of which is delimited by an upper edge and configured to be placed in contact with at least a portion of an external surface of one of the wings of the movable profile, said external surface being on the side opposite the upper wall with respect to this wing in a transverse direction orthogonal to the longitudinal and elevation directions, opposite an internal surface of the wing facing the upper wall, and

[0032] - a receiving portion of a seat frame or seat equipment, the receiving portion extending above the upper edge of the contact portion in the elevation direction;

[0033] b) positioning the inner surface of the contact portion in contact with at least a portion of the outer surface of the respective wing;

[0034] c) forming at least one weld point from the upper edge between the receiving portion and the movable profile;

[0035] d) fixing the fixed profile to a floor of a vehicle;

[0036] e) assembling the movable profile with the fixed profile in a sliding manner in the longitudinal direction.

[0037] According to another advantageous aspect of the invention, the formation of the at least one welding point comprises an addition of material.

[0038] The invention will appear more clearly on reading the description which follows, given solely by way of non-limiting example, and made with reference to the drawings in which:

[0047] [Fig.9] [Fig.9] is a sectional view in a transverse plane (YZ) of the slide of [Fig.8].

[0048] [Fig. 10] [Fig. 10] is an enlargement of the view of [Fig.9] at the weld point.

[0049] With reference to [Fig.l], a slide 10 of a vehicle seat 15 is described.

[0050] The vehicle (not shown) is for example a motor vehicle, but the slide 10 according to the invention can be used for seats of other types of vehicles, for example marine or air.

[0051] The seat 15 of [Fig.l] very schematically comprises a seat 16 and a backrest 17.

[0052] The seat 16 is mounted to slide in a longitudinal direction X on a floor 18 of the vehicle by means of one or more slides 10. For a seat facing the front of the vehicle, the longitudinal direction X corresponds for example to the front-rear direction of the vehicle.

[0053] In a particular embodiment, the seat 16 is connected to the chassis 18 by means of two parallel slides 10 in the longitudinal direction X.

[0054] Each slide 10 comprises a fixed profile 20, as well as a movable profile 25, mounted to slide on the fixed profile 20 in the longitudinal direction X and to which the seat 16 is fixed by means of at least one support 30 welded to the movable profile 25.

[0055] The fixed profile 20 is intended to be attached, in particular fixed, to the floor 18 of the vehicle.

[0056] The fixed profile 20 extends in the longitudinal direction X.

[0057] In a particular embodiment shown in more detail in Figures 4 and 8, the fixed profile 20 is in the form of a female profile made of folded sheet metal and cut substantially in the shape of a U.

[0058] The fixed profile 20 comprises in this case a base 35 extending in the longitudinal direction X and a transverse direction Y intended to be fixed to the floor 18, from which two side walls 40A, 40B extend substantially orthogonally to the base 35 in an elevation direction Z. When the slide is fixed to the floor of the vehicle, the transverse direction Y corresponds for example to the direction of the width of the vehicle for a seat facing towards the front of the vehicle and the elevation direction Z corresponds to the direction of the height of the vehicle.

[0059] Two retracting troughs 45A, 45B of the fixed profile 20 extend the side walls 40A, 40B towards the inside of the slide 10 and towards the base 35.

[0060] The fixed profile 20 thus forms a female profile inside which the mobile profile 25 is fitted and mounted to slide in the longitudinal direction X.

[0061] The movable profile 25 is presented in the examples in the form of a male profile made of folded and cut sheet metal, substantially in the shape of an inverted U.

[0062] The movable profile 25 comprises an upper wall 50 which extends in the longitudinal direction X and in the transverse direction Y, and two wings 55A, 55B which extend substantially orthogonally to the base 35 in the elevation direction Z in the direction of the fixed profile 20, therefore below the upper wall 50 when the slide is fixed to the floor of the vehicle.

[0063] Each wing 55A, 55B is delimited by a respective internal surface 56A, 56B facing the upper wall in the transverse direction Y and a respective external surface 57A, 57B opposite, therefore facing the outside of the inverted U. Thus, the internal surfaces 56A, 56B extend opposite each other in the transverse direction Y and are facing the inside of the U.

[0064] The wings 55A, 55B are extended towards the outside of the inverted U by a respective flap 60A, 60B.

[0065] Each of the flaps 60A, 60B is inserted into a space provided between the respective side wall 40A, 40B and the respective retracting trough 45A, 45B of the fixed profile 20, so as to ensure the sliding connection between the fixed profile 20 and the movable profile 25.

[0066] Rolling elements (not shown), for example balls, are advantageously interposed between the flaps 60A, 60B and the side walls 40A, 40B, and / or between the flaps 60A, 60B and the retracting troughs 45A, 45B to ensure the sliding of the movable profile 25 on the fixed profile 20.

[0067] At least one support 30 is welded to the movable profile 25 to ensure the connection between the seat 16 and the movable profile 25 or to receive seat equipment to be moved with the seat 16.

[0068] Thus, advantageously, one or more of the slides 10 on which the seat 16 is mounted may comprise one or more additional supports 30, each configured to receive one or more of the seat equipment, for example a seat belt attachment buckle, raising rods, sensor and connector supports, etc.

[0069] Each support 30 extends along the elevation direction Z and comprises a contact portion 65 of which an internal surface 70 is placed in contact with at least a portion of the external surface 57A, 57B of the wing 55A, 55B with which it is welded.

[0070] The support 30 also comprises a receiving portion 75 of a seat frame 15 and / or of a seat equipment extending from an upper edge 77 of the contact portion 65 in the elevation direction Z, on the side opposite the fixed profile 20. In other words, the receiving portion 75 extends above the contact portion 65 and projects from the upper wall 50 of the movable profile 25 in the elevation direction Z.

[0071] The receiving portion 75 thus forms a male part, configured to cooperate with a corresponding female part included in the seat frame 15 and / or the respective seat equipment, or a fixing surface of the seat frame and / or the respective seat equipment.

[0072] In the embodiment shown in [Fig.2], the section of the receiving portion 75 of the support 30 in a transverse plane, that is to say in a plane YZ orthogonal to the longitudinal direction X, is substantially straight.

[0073] Advantageously, the section of the receiving portion 75 of the support 30 has, as shown in [Fig.2], a recess 80 between two straight portions 80A and 80B, the straight portions 80A and 80B then being more or less offset from each other in the transverse direction Y. This arrangement allows the support 30 to cooperate with a female part offset from the upper wall 50 in the transverse direction Y.

[0074] The support 30 is welded to the movable profile 25 by at least one weld point 85 formed between the receiving portion 75 and the movable profile 25 from the upper edge 77 of the contact portion 65, on the side of the internal surface 70 of the contact portion.

[0075] The welding point 85 can be formed by laser welding or by adding material, in particular MAG (in English “Metal Active Gas”), CMT (in English “Cold Metal Transfer”), etc.

[0076] The number, positions and / or surface area of the welding points 85 are advantageously chosen as a function of the shape of the receiving portion 75 and / or the type of seat or equipment with which the receiving portion 75 is intended to cooperate.

[0077] A welding point 85 is advantageously positioned at least at one end of the support 30 in the longitudinal direction X.

[0078] One or more additional welding points 85 are advantageously positioned at a distance from the ends of the support 30 in the longitudinal direction X.

[0079] In the example of [Fig.4], six welding points 85 each extending substantially in the longitudinal direction X have been distributed along the longitudinal direction X, at the level of six welding zones 85A of the support 30 visible in [Fig.5] and extending above the upper edge 77.

[0080] In a particular embodiment, weld points 85 are formed along the entire length of the upper edge 77.

[0081] In the example shown in Figures 2 and 3, the weld point 85 extends between the receiving portion 75 and the respective wing 55B. It further extends above the upper wall 50.

[0082] Alternatively, the weld point 85 does not extend above the upper wall 50.

[0083] The method of mounting the slide 10 comprises the following steps:

[0084] In a supply step, a fixed profile 20, a movable profile 25 intended to be mounted to slide in the longitudinal direction X on the fixed profile 20 and at least one support 30 are provided.

[0085] In a positioning step, the inner surface 70 of the contact portion 65 is positioned in contact with the outer surface 57A, 57B of a respective wing 55A, 55B.

[0086] In a welding step, while maintaining this contact firmly, the welding point(s) 85 are formed from the upper edge 77 between the receiving portion 75 and the movable profile 25 by means of a welding station, for example laser or by adding material.

[0087] In a fixing step, the fixed profile 20 is fixed to the floor 18.

[0088] Advantageously, the fixing of the fixed profile 20 on the floor 18 is the step which immediately follows the supply step.

[0089] In an assembly step, the movable profile 25 sliding in the longitudinal direction X is mounted on the fixed profile 20.

[0090] Advantageously, the assembly step is the step which immediately follows the fixing step and it precedes the positioning step.

[0091] Below the upper edge 77 in the elevation direction Z, the contact portion 65 and the respective wing 55A, 55B form a protection against splashing of petillons. Above the upper edge 77 in the elevation direction Z, the receiving portion 75 and the upper wall 50 also form a protection against splashing of petillons. Consequently, the risk of such splashing, more particularly in the case where the weld point 85 is formed with an addition of material, is considerably reduced compared to other positioning of the weld points envisaged in the prior art.

[0092] The various elements which ensure the sliding connection, in particular the flaps 45A, 45B, 60A, 60B as well as any rolling elements are therefore protected from such cracks.

[0093] Furthermore, access to the welding zone 85 A for the formation of the welding point 85 is easy, since only the receiving portion 75 and the upper wall 50 limit this access and form an angle greater than or equal to 90°. On the contrary, when the welding points are placed under the inverted U of the movable profile 25 as in the prior art, access to the welding zone is much more difficult because it is limited by the two wings of the inverted U.

[0094] The slide 10 according to the invention is therefore easy to manufacture, reproducible and with high welding quality.

[0095] In the case where the section of the receiving portion 75 of the support 30 has, as shown in [Fig.2], a notch 80 between two straight portions 80A and 80B, the notch 80 makes it possible to further facilitate access to the welding zone 85.

[0096] To the extent that access to the welding zone 85A is easy, the welding step can be the last step of the assembly process without the proper functioning of the slide 10 being impacted.

[0097] An additional support 30 can for the same reasons be easily added to a slide 10 already mounted on the floor 18.

[0098] In this case, the additional support 30 can be on the same wing 55A, 55B as the first support 30 but offset in the longitudinal direction X.

[0099] The first support 30 and at least one additional support 30 can also each be positioned on a wing 55A, 55B.

[0100] Finally, the support 30 can be adapted to any mobile profile 25 provided that it has a suitable internal contact surface 70, in particular without holes having to be machined in the mobile profile 25.

[0101] Alternatively, as shown in [Fig.6], the section of the receiving portion 75 of the support 30 in a plane YZ orthogonal to the longitudinal direction X is L-shaped.

[0102] This arrangement makes it possible to position the female portion intended to cooperate with the support 30 at a greater distance from the movable profile 25 in the transverse direction Y.

[0103] As a result, access to the area at which the at least one weld point is formed is even easier. Assembling the slide 10 is therefore all the easier and more reproducible.

[0104] Advantageously, a support 30 is positioned on each wing 55A, 55B.

[0105] In this case, the two supports 30 are advantageously positioned face to face, such that the upper wall 50 and the receiving portions 75 form an assembly for fixing a frame of the seat 15 and / or equipment of the seat 15 to the movable profile 25 whose section in a plane YZ orthogonal to the longitudinal direction X is substantially U-shaped.

[0106] This arrangement makes it possible to fix the frame of the seat 15 and / or of a piece of equipment of the seat 15 more securely than with a single support whose profile is straight or L-shaped, without however requiring as much material as with a support whose receiving portion would have a U-shaped profile as will be described later.

[0107] Optionally, the support 30 comprises a support portion 90 which extends in the transverse direction Y from the contact portion 65 and / or the receiving portion 75.

[0108] The support portion 90 is placed above the upper wall 50 according to the elevation direction Z, in contact with at least a portion of the upper wall 50

[0109] In the example of figures 8 to 10, the support portion 90 extends only from the receiving portion 75.

[0110] In these examples, the support portion 90 is in contact with the upper wall 50 over the entire width of the latter in the transverse direction Y.

[0111] The support portion 90 comprises at least one through opening 95 giving access to at least a part of the upper edge 77 of the internal surface 70 of the contact portion 65 from the outside of the slide 10.

[0112] In the example, the through opening 95 has a square section in the longitudinal plane XY, for example horizontal when the slide is fixed to a vehicle floor resting on a horizontal ground. Other shapes can be envisaged.

[0113] Advantageously, the through opening 95 extends over a length of the order of that of a respective welding zone 85A in the longitudinal direction X.

[0114] This arrangement makes it possible to produce the welding point(s) 85 in the same manner as described previously.

[0115] The support portion 90 facilitates the positioning of the support 30 on the movable profile 25. It also allows additional force to be returned to the movable profile 25. These advantages are obtained without significant restriction of access to the welding zone 85A, thanks to the through opening 95. The service life of the slide 10 is thus improved.

[0116] Advantageously at least one additional welding point 98 is formed between the support portion 90 and the upper wall 50 above the upper wall 50.

[0117] The welding point is for example formed at an edge of the through opening 95 which is not above the upper edge 77.

[0118] Advantageously, as shown in Figures 8 to 10, a fixing wing 100 extends from the support portion 90, opposite the receiving portion 75 in the transverse direction Y. The support portion 90, the receiving portion 75 of the support 30 and the fixing wing 100 therefore form a support for fixing a frame of the seat 15 and / or equipment of the seat 15 whose section in a plane YZ orthogonal to the longitudinal direction X is substantially U-shaped.

[0119] This arrangement makes it possible to fix the frame of the seat 15 and / or of a piece of equipment of the seat 15 as securely as with two supports 30 placed face to face as described above, but with simpler and therefore faster assembly.
