Description

Title of the invention: Multifunction electric cooking appliance Technical field

[0001] The present invention relates generally to an electric cooking appliance for cooking food in a pressure cooking mode and a hot air cooking mode, such as an electric pressure cooker. State of the art

[0002] An electric cooking appliance, for cooking food using a pressure cooking method and a hot air cooking method, comprises in a known manner:

[0003] - a housing comprising a cooking tank which delimits a cooking chamber, and a cover movable between an open position in which the cover allows access to the cooking chamber, and a closed position in which the cover prevents access to the cooking chamber;

[0004] - a fan mechanically connected to the cover and configured to generate a flow air in the cooking chamber;

[0005] - a drive unit configured to rotate the fan;

[0006] - a heating device configured to be located opposite the heating chamber cooking when the lid is in the closed position, the heating device being configured to heat the airflow generated by the fan;

[0007] - at least one air circulation opening provided on the cover and opening to the inside of the cooking chamber,

[0008] - a closure member movable between a closure position in which the closure member closes the at least one circulation opening, and a circulation position in which the closure member releases the at least one air circulation opening and allows the flow of an air flow through the at least one air circulation opening, the closure position and the circulation position corresponding respectively to a pressure cooking mode and a hot air cooking mode. A steam cooking mode is also possible when the closure member is in an intermediate position.

[0009] Such an electric cooking appliance makes it possible to cook food contained in the cooking chamber according to a pressure cooking mode when simultaneously the lid occupies the closed position and the closure member occupies the closure position, and according to a hot air cooking mode when simultaneously the lid occupies the closed position and the closure member occupies the circulation position.

[0010] However, the closure member, which is generally formed by a shutter shutter, requires prior manipulation of an actuating member by a user, in order to move the shutter member between the shutter position and the circulation position, before being able to then select the desired cooking mode. However, if the user forgets this prior manipulation step, it is possible to initiate the cooking of food received in the cooking tank according to the pressure cooking mode while the first shutter device and the second shutter device are in the release configuration, or according to the hot air cooking mode while the first shutter device and the second shutter device are in the shutter configuration, which can harm the integrity of the electric cooking appliance or at least lead to improper cooking of the food received in the cooking tank. [0073] The electric cooking appliance 1 further comprises a user interface 19 provided on a front part of the housing 3, and electrically connected to the control unit 2, for example by means of at least one connecting cable. The user interface 19 is configured to allow a user to select different cooking parameters including in particular a cooking temperature, a cooking duration and a cooking mode, so as to define a cooking program from among several predefined cooking programs. A first cooking program may for example consist of controlling an operation of the electric cooking appliance 1 according to the pressure cooking mode and a second cooking program may for example consist of controlling an operation of the electric cooking appliance 1 according to the hot air cooking mode.Another user-selectable cooking program could consist of controlling an operation of the electric cooking appliance 1 according to one of the pressure cooking mode and the hot air cooking mode, then according to the other of the pressure cooking mode and the hot air cooking mode. Such a configuration of the electric cooking appliance 1 according to the invention makes it possible, during the same recipe, to automatically modify the cooking mode in which the electric cooking appliance 1 is located, for example.

[0074] When a user selects the pressure cooking mode by means of the user interface 19, the control unit 2 controls an electrical supply to the electric motor 18 so as to move the first displacement member 17.1 and the second displacement member 17.2 into the first configuration, such that the first closure device 15.1 and the second closure device 15.2 occupy the closure configuration. The selection of the pressure cooking mode further involves an electrical supply to the heating element 13 in order to heat the cooking tank 5.

[0075] Antonymically, when a user selects the hot air cooking mode by means of the user interface 19, the control unit 2 controls an electrical supply to the electric motor 18 so as to move the first moving member 17.1 and the second moving member 17.2 into the second configuration, such that the first shutter device 15.1 and the second shutter device 15.2 occupy the release configuration. The selection of the hot air cooking mode further involves an electrical supply to the hot air cooking system 8 in order to generate a flow of hot air on the food received in the cooking tank 5.

[0077] According to the second embodiment of the invention, the electric motor 18 comprises a drive shaft 18.1 configured to be driven in rotation in a first direction of rotation and in a second direction of rotation which is opposite to the first direction of rotation. The drive shaft 18.1 is further configured to drive the locking member 20 in rotation between the locking position and the unlocking position, such that a rotation of the drive shaft 18.1 in the first direction of rotation causes a movement of the locking member 20 into the locking position, and such that a rotation of the drive shaft 18.1 in the second direction of rotation causes a movement of the locking member 20 into the locking position.According to the second embodiment of the invention, the displacement device 16 may for example comprise a drive pinion coupled in rotation to the drive shaft 18.1, and the locking member 20 may for example be provided with a drive toothing which extends substantially coaxially with a central axis of the locking member 20 and which is coupled in rotation to the drive pinion. Advantageously, such a configuration of the invention allows the use of a single electric motor 18 in order to simultaneously lock the cover 6 in the closed position, and move the first closure device 15.1 and the second closure device 15.2 into the closure configuration.

[0078] More particularly, and as shown in [Fig. 3], the locking member 20 comprises a first actuating part 21.1 configured to cooperate with the first displacement member 17.1 when the locking member 20 is moved between the unlocking position and the locking position, and a second actuating part 21.2 configured to cooperate with the second displacement member 17.2 when the locking member 20 is moved between the unlocking position and the locking position. The first displacement member 17.1 may for example be pivotally mounted relative to the cover 6 around a first axis of pivoting, and the second displacement member 17.2 can for example be pivotally mounted relative to the cover 6 around a second pivot axis. Advantageously, and according to the embodiment of the invention shown in [Fig. 3], the locking member 20 is driven in movement by the electric motor 18. The user then simply positions the cover in the closed position and selects the pressure cooking mode by means of the user interface 19, this in order to automatically control the movement of the locking member 20 into the locking position and the movement of the first closure device 15.1 and the second closure device 15.2 into the closure configuration.

[0079] Advantageously, the electric cooking appliance 1 is configured such that a movement of the locking member 20 from the unlocking position to the locking position simultaneously causes a movement of the first movement member 17.1 and the second movement member 17.2 from the second configuration to the first configuration, and such that a movement of the locking member 20 from the locking position to the unlocking position causes a movement of the first movement member 17.1 and the second movement member 17.2 from the first configuration to the second configuration.

[0080] The first actuating portion 21.1 may for example comprise a first actuating ramp configured to pivot the first displacement member 17.1 from the first configuration to the second configuration and around the first pivot axis when the locking member 20 is moved from the locking position to the unlocking position, and the second actuating portion 21.2 may for example comprise a second actuating ramp configured to pivot the second displacement member 17.2 from the first configuration to the second configuration and around the second pivot axis A6 when the locking member 20 is moved from the locking position to the unlocking position.

[0081] Of course, the present invention is in no way limited to the embodiments described and illustrated which have been given only as examples. Modifications remain possible, in particular from the point of view of the constitution of the various elements or by substitution of technical equivalents, without departing from the scope of protection of the invention.
