Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Rear seat belt reel support for a motor vehicle,
[0001] The technical context of the present invention is that of the safety of the occupants of a motor vehicle, and more particularly of their physical integrity in the event of an accident. More particularly, the invention relates to a rear seat belt reel support for a motor vehicle.
[0002] In the state of the art, the use of safety belts associated with each seat in the passenger compartment of motor vehicles is known, making it possible to keep an individual pressed against his seat in the event of an accident. Such safety belts take the form of a safety strap forming a harness or extending across the individual's torso, the safety strap being fixed to several anchor points secured to a seat on which the individual is installed.
[0003] In order to increase the safety and physical integrity of the individual in the event of an accident, such safety belts are, in a known manner, supplemented by additional devices housed in particular in the safety belt reels and forming safety assemblies for high-performance individuals. Such safety assemblies comprise, for example, devices which make it possible to initiate tension in the safety strap against the individual in order to reduce the residual play in the safety belt, and / or devices which make it possible to limit the forces in order to prevent the safety belt itself from injuring the user too severely in the event of a violent impact.
[0004] In order to perfectly play their role of restraining the passenger in the event of an accident, the seat belt reels must be perfectly anchored to the structure of the motor vehicle, so as to form invariant fixed points. Otherwise, under the effect of the impact, the seat belt would relax and the passenger would then be no longer held in his seat.
[0005] In particular, depending on certain geometries of recent motor vehicles, and in particular SUVs, the English acronym for "Sport Utility Vehicle" and meaning "sport utility vehicle", or even with certain coupes, the style constraints of these motor vehicles lead to significant constraints in terms of size and availability for the rear seat seat belt reels. Such size constraints are furthermore associated with constraints of rigidity and transmission of forces, inherent in the safety requirements as mentioned above.
[0006] The object of the present invention is to propose a new winder support rear seat belt for a motor vehicle in order to address at least largely the preceding problems and to further lead to other advantages.
[0007] Another object of the invention is to better integrate a seat belt reel into a restricted environment of motor vehicles.
[0008] Another object of the invention is to improve the safety of the occupants and to guarantee good retention of the seat belt reel in the event of an accident.
[0009] According to a first aspect of the invention, at least one of the aforementioned objectives is achieved with a rear seat belt reel support for a motor vehicle, the support comprising:
[0010] - a fixing plate for the reel, the fixing plate being integral with a side wall of the motor vehicle body;
[0011] - a stiffener secured to a rear end of the fixing plate, the stiffener extending vertically projecting from the mounting plate towards a rear foot of the motor vehicle to which it is securely attached;
[0012] - a rear reinforcement which extends behind the rear stiffener and towards the foot rear of the motor vehicle, the rear reinforcement being securely attached to the rear leg, the stiffener being securely attached to the rear reinforcement.
[0013] In the context of the present invention, a longitudinal axis, a lateral axis and a vertical axis are defined relative to the motor vehicle on which the seat belt retractor bracket according to the first aspect of the invention is intended to be mounted. More particularly, the transverse axis is understood as a direction taken between a lateral side of the motor vehicle and an opposite lateral side of said motor vehicle. In other words, the transverse axis is understood as a direction which extends from a passenger side of the motor vehicle to a driver's side of said motor vehicle, or vice versa. The adjectives lateral, inboard and outboard refer to such a transverse axis. Furthermore, the longitudinal axis extends as being taken along a direction which extends from front to rear or from back to front of the motor vehicle. The longitudinal axis is perpendicular to the transverse axis.The adjectives frontal, front and rear refer to this longitudinal axis. Finally, the vertical axis is understood to be taken along an axis that extends from the wheels of the motor vehicle and towards the roof of said motor vehicle, or vice versa, the vertical axis being simultaneously perpendicular to the transverse axis and to the longitudinal axis. The adjectives above and below, or lower and upper refer to this vertical axis.
[0014] In the context of the present invention, the reel support forms a fixing base for the seat belt reel. Thus, the reel support according to the first aspect of the invention is a mechanical interface part between the seat belt reel on the one hand, and the structure of the motor vehicle. on the other hand. The seat belt reel is intended to be securely attached to the reel support, while said reel support is securely attached to the structure of the motor vehicle. The reel support according to the first aspect of the invention is intended to be located behind a motor vehicle seat with which it is associated.
[0015] In the context of the present invention, the fixing plate forms a receptacle for the seat belt reel, on which said reel is intended to be fixed securely. As such, the fixing plate comprises fixing means configured to collaborate with complementary means present on the seat belt reel. The fixing plate extends mainly in a plane formed by or substantially by the longitudinal axis and the transverse axis.
[0016] The fixing plate takes the form of a shaped sheet metal. For example, the fixing plate is a sheet metal obtained by stamping. The fixing plate is for example formed from a metallic material.
[0017] In the context of the present invention, the stiffener forms a mechanical reinforcement part for the fixing plate, allowing vertical fixing to the rear foot of the motor vehicle, above the fixing plate. Thus, the stiffener makes it possible to better support the forces linked in particular to the weight of the reel and the reel support itself, by forming a support on the rear foot, relative to the vertical axis.
[0018] The stiffener takes the form of a shaped sheet metal, in particular by stamping. The stiffener is formed, for example, from a metallic material.
[0019] In the context of the present invention, the rear reinforcement forms a mechanical reinforcement part for the mounting plate, allowing horizontal attachment to the rear leg of the motor vehicle, behind the mounting plate. The rear reinforcement extends behind the mounting plate and the stiffener. Thus, the rear reinforcement makes it possible to better support the forces linked in particular to the weight of the reel and the reel support itself, by forming a support on the rear leg, relative to the longitudinal axis.
[0020] The rear reinforcement takes the form of a shaped sheet metal, in particular by stamping. For example, the rear reinforcement is formed from a metallic material.
[0021] In the context of the present invention, the body side wall of the motor vehicle forms a structural panel of the motor vehicle, in the case of a coupe type vehicle, the body side wall is located near a rear quarter panel of said motor vehicle.
[0022] In the context of the present invention, the rear foot of the motor vehicle is an upper mechanical element of the motor vehicle, delimiting the passenger compartment at its upper part. In particular, the rear foot takes the form of a curved prismatic span which extends mainly along the longitudinal axis. The motor vehicle comprises a first rear foot located on a first lateral side and a second rear foot located on a second lateral side.
[0023] Thus, the reel support according to the first aspect of the invention makes it possible to reinforce the support of the seat belt reel, by proposing a geometry adapted to reduced space requirements behind the rear seats of a motor vehicle. Indeed, the absorption of forces on the rear foot, by means of the stiffener and the rear reinforcement, makes it possible to guarantee the necessary rigidity in the event of accidents and to offer the expected safety to the occupants of the motor vehicle.
[0024] The reel support according to the first aspect of the invention advantageously comprises at least one of the improvements below, the technical characteristics forming these improvements being able to be taken alone or in combination:
[0025] - the fixing plate has a side flap, on the side of the body side wall. The side flap forms a folded edge relative to a support face of the fixing plate for the seat belt reel. This advantageous configuration makes it possible both to reinforce the rigidity of the fixing plate, but also to allow easier collaboration of said fixing plate with its direct environment, in particular for its connection to other parts of the motor vehicle;
[0026] - the side flap of the fixing plate extends against the side wall of the body. in other words, the side flap of the fixing plate extends along and against the body side wall. Advantageously, the fixing plate is fixed to the body side wall by its side flap. In other words, the side flap of the fixing plate is fixed integrally to the body side wall of the motor vehicle. By way of non-limiting examples, the fixing of the fixing plate to the body side wall is carried out by any known means, and in particular by screwing or bolting and / or by welding;
[0027] - the stiffener comprises lateral edges extending on either side of the rear end of the mounting plate to which the stiffener is associated. The lateral flanges form folded edges relative to an elongation face of the stiffener. This advantageous configuration makes it possible both to reinforce the rigidity of the stiffener, but also to allow easier collaboration of the stiffener with the mounting plate and the side wall of the body of the motor vehicle;
[0028] - advantageously, the fixing plate is fixed securely to the stiffener at level of its lateral edges. In particular, by way of non-limiting examples, the fixing plate is fixed securely to the lateral edges of the stiffener by screwing or bolting and / or by welding. Similarly, the stiffener is fixed to the body side wall by one of its lateral edges. In other words, one of the lateral edges of the stiffener is fixed integrally to the body side wall of the motor vehicle located opposite and against which it rests. By way of non-limiting examples, the stiffener is fixed to the body side wall by any known means, and in particular by screwing or bolting and / or by welding;
[0029] - the stiffener further comprises an upper rim which extends against and along the rear foot of the motor vehicle. The upper edge forms a folded edge relative to the elongation face of the stiffener. This advantageous configuration makes it possible to provide a vertical force absorption for the fixing plate. Advantageously, the stiffener is securely fixed to the rear foot of the motor vehicle by means of its upper edge. By way of non-limiting example, the upper edge of the stiffener is securely fixed to the rear foot of the motor vehicle by screwing or bolting and / or by welding;
[0030] - a rear face of the stiffener is fixed securely to a front end of the rear reinforcement. For this purpose, the rear reinforcement advantageously comprises a front edge folded at its front end, said front edge folded being placed against the stiffener. By way of non-limiting example, the front edge folded of the rear reinforcement is fixed securely to the stiffener by screwing or bolting and / or by welding;
[0031] - the rear reinforcement has folded side edges. This advantageous configuration helps to reinforce the rigidity of the rear reinforcement;
[0032] - the rear reinforcement comprises an anti-rotation leg which extends behind the reinforcement rear and towards a lateral flank of the rear leg of the motor vehicle, the anti-rotation leg being fixedly attached to the lateral flank of the rear leg. The anti-rotation leg takes the form of a wall which extends in the extension of the rear reinforcement and towards the rear leg, relative to the longitudinal axis. The anti-rotation leg is fixedly attached to the rear reinforcement and fixedly attached to the lateral flank of the rear leg of the motor vehicle, the anti-rotation leg extends mainly in a vertical plane, delimited by the vertical axis and the longitudinal axis.
[0033] According to a second aspect of the invention, there is provided a motor vehicle comprising a passenger compartment and a rear row of seats arranged in the passenger compartment, at least some of the seats of the rear row being associated with a safety belt, a reel of which is associated with the reel support according to the first aspect of the invention or according to any of its improvements.
[0034] Preferably, although not limiting of the present invention, the motor vehicle is of the type of an electrified motor vehicle. In the context of the present invention, an electrified motor vehicle may be of the type of an electric vehicle towed exclusively by an electric machine powered by a battery. electric traction, or of the type of a hybrid motor vehicle comprising both the electric machine powered by the electric traction battery and associated with another propulsion system, such as a thermal engine, to propel the motor vehicle. Among hybrid motor vehicles, a distinction is made between plug-in hybrid vehicles for which the electric traction battery can be recharged by connection to an external energy source, and non-plug-in hybrid vehicles, i.e. which are not equipped for such recharging of the electric traction battery on an external electrical network.
[0035] Generally speaking, a powertrain of such an electrified motor vehicle is rotated by an electric machine, electrically powered by an electric traction battery, in order to generate a motor torque used to set the motor vehicle in motion. Additionally or alternatively, the electric machine is configured to recover mechanical energy from the powertrain and convert it into electrical energy, thus producing a braking torque on said powertrain and making it possible to recharge the electric traction battery.
[0036]
[0037] Various embodiments of the invention are provided, integrating according to all of their possible combinations the different optional characteristics set out here.
[0038] Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following description on the one hand, and from several exemplary embodiments given for informational and non-limiting purposes with reference to the attached schematic drawings on the other hand, in which:
[0039] [Fig-1] illustrates a three-dimensional view of a body structure of a vehicle at automobile incorporating an example of a reel support according to the first aspect of the invention;
[0040] [Fig.2] illustrates a detail view of the reel support illustrated in [Fig.l].
[0041] Of course, the features, variants and different embodiments of the invention may be combined with each other, in various combinations, provided that they are not incompatible or mutually exclusive. In particular, variants of the invention may be imagined comprising only a selection of features described below in isolation from the other features described, if this selection of features is sufficient to confer a technical advantage or to differentiate the invention from the prior art.
[0042] In particular, all the variants and all the embodiments described can be combined with each other if nothing prevents this combination from a technical point of view.
[0043] In the figures, the elements common to several figures retain the same reference.
[0044] In the FIGURES described below, a longitudinal axis X, a lateral axis and a vertical axis Z are defined relative to the motor vehicle 2 on which the seat belt reel support 1 is intended to be mounted.
[0045] More particularly, the transverse axis Y is understood as a direction taken between a lateral side of the motor vehicle 2 and an opposite lateral side of said motor vehicle 2. In other words, the transverse axis Y is understood in a direction which extends from a passenger side of the motor vehicle 2 to a driver's side of said motor vehicle 2, or vice versa. The adjectives lateral, interior and exterior refer to such a transverse axis Y.
[0046] Furthermore, the longitudinal axis X extends as taken along a direction that extends from front to rear or from back to front of the motor vehicle 2. The longitudinal axis X is perpendicular to the transverse axis Y. The adjectives frontal, front and rear refer to this longitudinal axis X.
[0047] Finally, the vertical axis Z is understood as being taken along an axis which extends from the wheels of the motor vehicle 2 and towards the roof of said motor vehicle 2, or vice versa, the vertical axis Z being simultaneously perpendicular to the transverse axis Y and to the longitudinal axis X. The adjectives above and below, or lower and upper refer to this vertical axis Z.
[0048] With reference to FIGURES 1 and 2, the invention relates to a rear seat belt reel support 1 for a motor vehicle 2, the reel support 1 comprising:
[0049] - a fixing plate 11 for the reel, the fixing plate 11 being integral of a side wall of the body 14 of the motor vehicle 2;
[0050] - a stiffener 12 secured to a rear end of the fixing plate 11, the stiffener 12 extending vertically projecting from the fixing plate 11 towards a rear foot 15 of the motor vehicle 2 to which it is securely fixed
[0051] - a rear reinforcement 13 which extends behind the rear stiffener 12 and towards the rear leg 15 of the motor vehicle 2, the rear reinforcement 13 being fixed integrally to the rear leg 15, the stiffener 12 being fixed integrally to the rear reinforcement 13.
[0052] As visible in [Fig.l], the reel support 1 is intended to be associated with rear seats of a passenger compartment 20 of the motor vehicle 2, that is to say behind these - not shown in [Fig.l] - relative to the longitudinal axis X. In particular, such a motor vehicle 2 comprises a first reel support 1 associated with the right side rear seat of the motor vehicle 2, and a second reel support 1 associated with the left side rear seat of said motor vehicle 2.
[0053] The fixing plate 11, the stiffener 12 and the rear reinforcement 13 are advantageously- ously sheet metal parts, formed from a metal sheet shaped by stamping for example. Of course, the dimensions of the fixing plate 11, the stiffener 12 and the rear reinforcement 13, and in particular their thickness, as well as the materials used are chosen according to the permissible mechanical constraints and the expected rigidities according to the needs and characteristics of the motor vehicle 2 on which the reel support 1 is intended to be mounted. By way of non-limiting example, the fixing plate 11, the stiffener 12 and the rear reinforcement 13 are for example formed from a sheet comprising a steel and / or aluminum alloy. Optionally, the fixing plate 11, the stiffener 12 and the rear reinforcement 13 are formed from a plastic material and obtained by molding for example.
[0054] The fixing plate 11 forms a base for the seat belt reel. The fixing plate 11 extends mainly in a plane formed by or substantially by the longitudinal axis X and the transverse axis Y. The fixing plate 11 comprises a bearing face 111 for the seat belt reel, said bearing face 111 extending mainly in the horizontal plane formed by the transverse axis Y and the longitudinal axis X.
[0055] In order to improve the rigidity of the fixing plate 11 and to prevent the bearing face 111 from bending under the effect of the weight of the seat belt reel intended to be mounted thereon, the fixing plate 11 comprises at least one lateral flap 112 which extends along said bearing face 111, thus forming a folded edge. In the exemplary embodiment illustrated in [Fig. 2], the fixing plate 11 comprises a first lateral flap 112 located on the side of the interior of the passenger compartment 20, and a second lateral flap 112 which extends against and bears against a side wall of the body 14 of the motor vehicle 2.
[0056] On the side of the body side wall 14 of the motor vehicle 2, the side flap 112 of the fixing plate 11 is fixed to said body side wall 14, by any means, and in particular by screwing and / or by bolting and / or by welding, the side flap 112 matches the shape of the body side wall 14 located opposite and against which it is leaning. Each side flap 112 of the fixing plate 11 is advantageously made of the same material as the bearing face 111, so that they cannot be detached from each other without damaging the fixing plate 11.
[0057] In order to improve the holding of the fixing plate 11 relative to the body structure of the motor vehicle 2, the reel support 1 associates the stiffener 12 with the fixing plate 11. The stiffener 12 thus forms a mechanical reinforcement part for the fixing plate 11, allowing vertical fixing to the rear foot 15 of the motor vehicle 2, above the fixing plate 11. Thus, the stiffener 12 makes it possible to better support the forces linked in particular to the weight of the reel and the reel support 1 itself, by forming a support on the rear foot 15, relative to the vertical Z axis.
[0058] The stiffener 12 is located directly behind the fixing plate 11, relative to the longitudinal axis X. The stiffener 12 comprises an elongation face 121 which projects in a vertical plane and from a rear face of the fixing plate 11. The elongation face 121 projects in the direction of a portion of the rear foot 15 of the motor vehicle 2 located vertically, so as to allow said stiffener 12 to be fixed - at an upper portion - on said rear foot 15. In particular, this fixing is facilitated by the presence of an upper edge 123 which projects from an upper end of the elongation face 121. The upper edge 123 forms a folded edge which matches the shape of the rear foot 15 in order to facilitate its fixing by any means.In other words, the stiffener 12 forms a support for returning and suspending the fixing plate 11 from the rear leg 15 of the motor vehicle 2, at the rear end of said fixing plate 11 and opposite a part of the rear leg 15 located directly above said fixing plate 11.
[0059] In order to reinforce its rigidity, the stiffener 12 comprises at least one lateral edge 122 extending along the elongation face 121, relative to the vertical axis Z. The at least one lateral edge 122 extends from the elongation face 121 and in the direction of the fixing plate 11 located at the front. The at least one lateral edge 122 also makes it easier to position and maintain the fixing plate 11, by embedding - with or without play - the rear end of the fixing plate 11 in the front part formed by the elongation face 121 and the at least one lateral edge 122 of the stiffener 12.
[0060] Optionally, the stiffener 12 comprises another lateral edge 122, located on the side of the body side wall 14 of the motor vehicle 2, in order to facilitate its fixing thereto and to improve the rigidity of the winder support 1.
[0061] As visible in [Fig.2], the stiffener 12 is associated at its front face with the fixing plate 11, and in particular at its rear end; and the stiffener 12 is associated at its rear face with the rear reinforcement 13 of the reel support 1, and in particular at its front end. More particularly, the front face of the stiffener 12 is fixed integrally to the rear end of the fixing plate 11; and the rear face of the stiffener 12 is fixed integrally to the front end of the rear reinforcement 13. In other words, the stiffener 12 is located in an intermediate position between the fixing plate 11 and the rear reinforcement 13.
[0062] The rear reinforcement 13 forms a mechanical reinforcement part for the fixing plate 11, allowing horizontal fixing to the rear leg 15 of the motor vehicle 2, behind the fixing plate 11. The rear reinforcement 13 extends behind the fixing plate 11 and the stiffener 12. Thus, the rear reinforcement 13 makes it possible to better support the forces linked in particular to the weight of the reel and the reel support 1 itself, by forming a support on the rear foot 15, relative to the longitudinal axis X.
[0063] The rear reinforcement 13 is located behind the stiffener 12 and the fixing plate 11. The rear reinforcement 13 extends in the direction of the rear foot 15 of the motor vehicle 2, relative to the longitudinal axis X.
[0064] In order to improve the rigidity of the rear reinforcement 13 and to prevent it from bending under the effect of the weight of the seat belt reel intended to be mounted on the fixing plate 11, the rear reinforcement 13 comprises at least one folded lateral edge 131 which extends along said rear reinforcement 13.
[0065] In a particularly clever manner, the rear reinforcement 13 comprises an anti-rotation leg 132 which extends behind the rear reinforcement 13 and in the direction of a lateral flank of the rear leg 15 of the motor vehicle 2, the anti-rotation leg being fixed integrally to the lateral flank of the rear leg 15. The anti-rotation leg takes the form of a wall which extends in the extension of the rear reinforcement 13 and in the direction of the rear leg 15, relative to the longitudinal axis X. The anti-rotation leg 132 is integral with the rear reinforcement 13 and fixed integrally to the lateral flank of the rear leg 15 of the motor vehicle 2. The anti-rotation leg extends mainly in a vertical plane, delimited by the vertical axis Z and the longitudinal axis X. The anti-rotation leg makes it possible to prevent the reel support 1 from pivoting around the longitudinal axis X, thus forming additional safety for the rigidity of the reel support 1.
[0066] In summary, the invention relates to a rear seat belt reel support 1 for a motor vehicle 2, the reel support 1 comprising a fixing plate 11 secured to a body side wall 14 of the motor vehicle 2, a stiffener 12 secured to a rear end of the fixing plate 11, the stiffener 12 extending vertically projecting from the fixing plate 11 in the direction of a part of a rear pillar 15 of the motor vehicle 2 located directly above the fixing plate 11, and a rear reinforcement 13 which extends behind the rear stiffener 12 and in the direction of a rear part of the rear pillar 15, the rear reinforcement 13 being fixed securely to both the rear pillar 15 and the stiffener 12.In order to prevent unwanted pivoting of the reel support 1, the rear reinforcement 13 comprises an anti-rotation leg 132 which extends along a lateral flank of the rear foot 15, the anti-rotation leg 132 being fixed integrally to said lateral flank.
[0067] Of course, the invention is not limited to the examples which have just been described and numerous adjustments can be made to these examples without departing from the scope of the invention. In particular, the different characteristics, forms, variants and embodiments of the invention can be associated with each other in various combinations insofar as they are not incompatible or mutually exclusive. of others. In particular, all the variants and embodiments described above can be combined with each other.
