Description

Title of the invention: Modular seat that can be used as a bed Technical field

[0001] The present invention relates to the automotive field. In particular, the invention relates to a seat that can be converted into a bed for a vehicle and a vehicle comprising such a seat. Prior art

[0002] To sleep in a vehicle whose main use is dedicated to the movement of passengers, that is to say other than a camper van or a van converted for camping, it is known to fold down the rear seats and to place above the floor of the trunk and these rear seats a box on which a mattress can be installed. This method is however relatively bulky and occupies a large part of the trunk space.

[0003] It is also known to position a mattress on the floor of the trunk and the rear of the backrest. Statement of the invention

[0004] There is a need to have a vehicle that allows modulation according to the bed function, limiting the loss of space as much as possible while guaranteeing comfort for the user. Summary of the invention

[0005] The present invention meets this need thanks to, according to one of its aspects, a modular seat in bed function for a vehicle, comprising:

[0006] - a seat;

[0007] - a backrest movable relative to the seat between a raised position and a position folded down, a front surface of the backrest facing a surface of the seat when the backrest is in the folded down position, the front surface of the backrest and the surface of the seat being respectively intended to receive the back and the buttocks of a user in a seated position on the seat;

[0008] - a support movable relative to the backrest between a folded position, in which a support surface of the support faces a rear surface of the backrest opposite the front surface of the backrest, and at least one deployed position, in which the support surface extends in continuity with the rear surface of the backrest, the rear surface of the backrest and the support surface forming a support frame for receiving a user in a lying or semi-seated position when the backrest is in the folded position and the support in the deployed position;

[0009] - a foot movable relative to the support between an extension position and a position folded;

[0010] in which the foot is configured to come to bear on a support portion of the vehicle when the foot is in the extended position, the support is in said at least one deployed position and the backrest is in the folded position.

[0011] Thanks to the use of the support which is movable relative to the backrest and the foot, the seat according to the invention can be easily and quickly modulated as a bed, while limiting the space occupied by the support and its foot.

[0012] The front surface of the backrest and the surface of the seat can form a non-zero angle between them, in particular between 60° and 120°, when the backrest is in the raised position.

[0013] The front surface of the backrest and the surface of the seat can form an angle between them of between 0° and 20°, when the backrest is in the folded position.

[0014] By "the support surface of the support extends in continuity with the rear surface of the backrest", it is meant that the junction between the two surfaces is continuous, without any gap. In other words, the two surfaces form between them, when the support is in the deployed position, a surface without a stop. Support

[0015] The support may extend in a support plane.

[0016] The support is preferably a flat element, in particular a board or a shelf, the thickness of the support being in particular perpendicular to this support plane. This makes it possible in particular to reduce its size.

[0017] The bearing surface of the support is preferably flat and extends in the support plane or parallel to this plane.

[0018] The support may comprise a panel with a honeycomb structure, in particular a honeycomb structure. This makes it possible to reduce the mass of the panel and therefore not to weigh down the vehicle too much and makes it easier for the user to handle the support.

[0019] The transition of the support between the folded and deployed positions can be done manually or electrically, preferably manually.

[0020] The support can be mounted on the backrest, in particular on an upper part of the backrest.

[0021] The support may be rotatable between the folded and deployed positions about an axis of rotation of the support.

[0022] The axis of rotation of the support may be parallel to the support surface.

[0023] When the backrest comprises a lower part and an upper part, the support can be movable in rotation between the folded position and said at least one deployed position around an axis of rotation of the support in the upper part of the backrest.

[0024] The rear surface of the backrest and the support surface may form a non-zero angle between them, in particular between 135° and 200°, when the support is in the deployed position.

[0025] The rear surface of the backrest and the support surface may form a non-zero angle between them, in particular between 0° and 20°, when the support is in the folded position. Foot

[0026] The foot can be mounted on the support.

[0027] The foot may comprise a free end configured to rest on a ground. of the vehicle forming the support portion of the vehicle, when the foot is in the extended position, the support is in said at least one deployed position and the backrest is in the folded position.

[0028] The foot can move between the folded position and the extended position automatically, in particular by its own weight. By "automatically" is meant without direct intervention of the user on the foot.

[0029] The free end of the foot can be weighted. This makes it easier for the foot to automatically move between the folded position and the extended position.

[0030] The foot may engage with a foot relief on the floor of the vehicle, the foot relief being configured to prevent movement of the foot in at least one direction.

[0031] When the support extends in a support plane, the foot may extend in said support plane when disposed in the folded position.

[0032] The support may comprise a relief on a holding surface, opposite the support surface, the relief being arranged to receive the foot when in the folded position.

[0033] The relief may have a shape complementary to the shape of the foot.

[0034] The relief may be a hollow or a through hole whose outline corresponds to that of the foot.

[0035] The foot and the support are preferably made from the same panel, in particular by cutting the panel. Thus, the manufacturing process for the foot and the support is the same, which facilitates their manufacture and reduces their cost.

[0036] When the support comprises a panel with a honeycomb structure, in particular a honeycomb structure, the panel can form said relief.

[0037] The foot can move from the extended position to the folded position by rotation around an axis of rotation of the foot, in particular parallel to the support surface.

[0038] The foot may have a U shape, the foot being connected to the support at the branches of the U, for example by a pivot. Vehicle

[0039] The invention also relates, according to another of its aspects, in combination with the above, to a vehicle comprising at least one seat as defined above and a floor adapted to receive the feet of an occupant of the vehicle seated in the seat, the floor comprising the support portion of the vehicle.

[0040] The ground may comprise the support portion of the vehicle.

[0041] The vehicle may comprise at least two seats, in particular at least one single seat and one two-seater seat, in particular rear seats.

[0042] The vehicle may comprise a mattress configured to be positioned at least on the support surface of the support and on the rear surface of the backrest when the foot is in the extended position, the support is in said at least one deployed position and the backrest is in the folded position. Chest

[0043] The vehicle may include a trunk facing the rear surface of the backrest when in the raised position.

[0044] The trunk may include a floor that can move between a low position and a high position.

[0045] An upper surface of the floor may be configured to be continuous with the rear surface of the backrest when the backrest is in the folded position and the floor is in the raised position. This provides sufficient length for use in bed mode for a person of average height to lie down.

[0046] The distance between one end of the support, opposite one end of the support mounted on the backrest, corresponding to the “head of the bed”, and one end of the floor, opposite one end of the floor in contact with the backrest, corresponding to the “foot of the bed”, may be at least 1 m80.

[0047] The thickness of the floor may be at least 15 mm, in particular at least 20 mm.

[0048] The trunk may include a rear shelf, the rear shelf being configured to be placed under the floor when in the high position. Method for setting up the bed function

[0049] The invention also relates, according to another of its aspects, in combination with the above, to a method for setting up the bed function of a seat as defined above, comprising:

[0050] - the transition of the backrest from the raised position to the folded position;

[0051] - the transition of the support from the folded position to the deployed position so that the rear surface of the backrest and the support surface of the support form a support frame for receiving a user in a lying or semi-seated position when the backrest is in the folded position and the support in the deployed position;

[0052] - the passage of the foot from the bent position to the extended position. Brief description of the drawings

[0065] In the remainder of the description, elements that are identical or have identical functions bear the same reference sign. For the sake of brevity in this description, they are not described with reference to each of the figures, only the differences between the embodiments being described.

[0066] In the figures, the actual proportions have not always been respected, for the sake of clarity.

[0067] Figures 1 to 9 illustrate a rear bench seat of a vehicle 1 comprising two seats 2 according to the invention, otherwise called a 1 / 3 2 / 3 bench seat.

[0068] For example, one of the seats 2 has a single place, the other has two places.

[0069] Each seat 2 comprises a seat 3 comprising a seating surface 4 configured to receive the buttocks of a user of the seat 2.

[0070] Each seat 2 also comprises a backrest 5 comprising a front surface 6 intended to receive the back of a user.

[0071] The backrest 5 is movable relative to the seat 3 between a raised position (figures 1 to 2 and 7) and a folded position (figures 8 and 9).

[0072] When the backrest 5 is in the folded position, the front surface 6 of the backrest 5 is opposite the seat surface 4, the two surfaces forming a substantially zero angle between them.

[0073] When the backrest 5 is in the raised position, the front surface 6 of the backrest 5 and the seat surface 4 form an angle between them of between 60° and 120°.

[0074] Each seat 2 also comprises a support 10 movable relative to the backrest 5 between a folded position (figures 1 to 2 and 7 to 8) and a deployed position ([Fig.9]).

[0075] The support 10 is mounted on the top of the backrest 5 using hinges 13.

[0076] The support 10 passes between the folded position and the deployed position by a rotation around the Z axis passing through the hinges 13.

[0077] As illustrated in [Fig.3] along section AA, the hinge 13 can be fixed by screwing respectively onto the backrest 5, in particular at the level of a plate of the backrest 5, and onto the support 10, in particular at the level of a reinforcement 14.

[0078] The support 10 extends, in this example, in a support plane Ps and is flat.

[0079] The support 10 is formed from a panel with a honeycomb structure.

[0080] The support 10 comprises a bearing surface 11 which faces a rear surface 7 of the backrest 5, opposite the front surface 6, when the support 10 is in the folded position.

[0081] In this example, the support surface 11 and the rear surface form a zero angle between them when the support 10 is in the folded position.

[0082] The support 10 comprises means for rapid attachment to the support surface 11, not shown for the sake of clarity, making it possible to maintain the support 10 in the folded position, in particular a self-gripping attachment of the velcro® type.

[0083] When the support 10 is in the deployed position, the support surface 11 of the support 10 extends in continuity with the rear surface 7 of the backrest 5.

[0084] For example, the bearing surface 11 and the rear surface form between them an angle 0 of approximately 180° when the support 10 is in the deployed position (as illustrated in [Fig.9]).

[0085] The rear surface 7 of the backrest 5 and the support surface 11 of the support 10 form a support frame for receiving a user in a lying or semi-seated position when the backrest 5 is in the folded position and the support 10 in the deployed position.

[0086] Each seat 2 also comprises a foot 15 mounted on the support 10 and movable relative to the support 10 between an extended position ([Fig.9]) and a folded position ([Fig.2]).

[0087] The foot 15 and the support 10 are made from the same honeycomb panel by cutting said panel.

[0088] The foot 15 is thus received on the support 10 in a hollow 52 on a holding surface 16, opposite the support surface 11, and the contour of which corresponds to that of the foot 15.

[0089] The foot 15 has for example a general U shape, the ends 17 of the branches of the U being mounted on the support 10 on a pivot 18.

[0090] As illustrated in [Fig.3] and [Fig.4] according to section BB, the pivot 18 can be mounted by overmolding on the foot 15 and by pinching between two plates 19 on the support 10.

[0091] The foot 15 passes for example from the extended position to the folded position by a rotation around an axis of rotation Y of the foot 15 parallel to the support surface 11 and to the holding surface 16.

[0092] On the seat 2 corresponds to the 1 / 3 part of the bench, the foot 15 extends over at least 80% of the width of the support 10 and is centered on the support 10.

[0093] On the seat 2 corresponds to the 2 / 3 part of the bench, the foot 15 extends over at least 60% of the width of the support 10 and is eccentric on the support 10 by not having a foot at the level of tunnel T of the vehicle 1.

[0094] The foot 15 extends in said support plane Ps when it is arranged in the folded position.

[0095] The foot 15 comprises a free end 20, weighted, configured to come to bear on a floor of the vehicle 1 forming a support portion of the vehicle, when the foot is in the extended position, the support is in said at least one deployed position and the backrest is in the folded position.

[0096] The foot 15 can pass between the folded position and the extended position automatically, in particular by its own weight, as will be described below.

[0097] As previously indicated, the seats 2 are rear seats of the vehicle 1.

[0098] The rear face 7 and the support surface 11 are opposite a trunk 30 when the seat is in the raised position and the support 10 in the folded position, as illustrated in [Fig.5].

[0099] The trunk 30 comprises a floor 31 movable between a low position ([Fig.5]) and a high position ([Fig.8]), an upper surface 32 of the floor 31 being configured to be in continuity with the rear surface 7 of the backrest 5 when the backrest 5 is in the folded position and the floor 31 is in the high position.

[0100] When in the high position, the floor 31 is held by lugs 35 on the tailgate of the trunk 30 and the sides of the trunk 30.

[0101] When in the high position, the floor 31 also rests on the backrest 5 at a recess 36 in the rear surface 7, the section of which is illustrated in [Fig. 6]. This recess 36 allows continuity between the upper surface 32 of the floor 31 and the rear surface 7 of the backrest 5 when the backrest 5 is in the folded position and the floor 31 is in the high position.

[0102] The depth of the recess 36 is preferably substantially equal to the thickness of the floor 31, it is approximately 20 mm.

[0103] In Figures 7 to 10, an example of implementation of the bed function is illustrated.

[0104] At the beginning, as illustrated in [Fig.7], the seats 2 are in the raised position, their support 10 is in the folded position and their foot 15 in the folded position.

[0105] This corresponds to the transport configuration, in which passengers can sit in the seats 2.

[0106] Then, as illustrated in [Fig.8], a backrest 5 moves from the raised position to the folded position.

[0107] In addition, a driver's seat 50 of the vehicle is also folded down, in order to save space.

[0108] The floor 31 is, in this step, positioned in the high position to come into continuity with the rear surface 7 of the backrest 5.

[0109] Then, as illustrated in [Fig.9], the support 10 passes into the deployed position so that the support surface 11 is in continuity with the rear surface 7 of the backrest 5 and the holding surface 16 faces a floor 51 of the vehicle.

[0110] The foot 15 automatically passes, by the effect of its own weight, from the folded position to the extended position.

[0111] The ends 20 of the feet 15 are then engaged, for example by snap-fastening, in reliefs 55 of the floor 51 of the vehicle 1, as illustrated in [Fig. 10], the reliefs 55 being configured to prevent movement of the feet 15 in at least one direction.

[0112] The rear surface 7 of the backrest 5, the bearing surface 11 of the support 10 and the upper surface 32 of the floor 31 thus form a support frame for receiving a user in a lying or semi-seated position when the backrest is in the folded position and the support in the deployed position.

[0113] In addition, a rear shelf 56 of the trunk 30 can be placed in a space formed between the floor 31 and the ground 51 of the vehicle 1. Alternatively, the rear shelf is not moved and allows comfort accessories to be placed for the user of the bed, such as for example a computer.

[0114] A mattress 60 can then be positioned on the support surface 11 of the support 10, on the rear surface 7 of the backrest 5, and on the upper surface 32 of the floor 31, as illustrated on a vehicle variant 1 in [Fig. 11].

[0115] A pillow 62 and a blanket 61 may also be positioned.
