Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Posture correction device
[0001] The present invention relates to a posture correcting device.
[0002] Such a posture correcting device aims to provide a user using the posture correcting device with a posture correcting effect at the user's upper back in order to prevent the user from experiencing pain at this level due to poor posture.
[0003] Known posture correcting devices are, for example, in the form of a band of elastic textile material closed on itself. When worn, the band passes behind the user's neck, around his shoulders and then under his armpits. Devices formed of a positioning strap surrounding the user's abdominal belt and shoulder straps passing around the user's shoulders are also known. In these devices, the shoulder straps are either inelastic or elastic.
[0004] Known posture correcting devices are not comfortable and do not allow the correction force applied by the posture correcting device to be modulated in a simple manner. In particular, it is not possible to remove this force without removing the posture correcting device.
[0005] One of the aims of the invention is to overcome these drawbacks by proposing a comfortable posture correcting device that is easy to wear and applies a modular correction force.
[0006] To this end, the invention relates to a posture correcting device for a user comprising: - a positioning strap intended to extend around the user's torso in a transverse direction, said positioning strap comprising a front part and a back part, - a first shoulder strap comprising a front portion extending in a direction of elevation, substantially perpendicular to the transverse direction, between a first end, fixed to a first edge of the front portion of the positioning strap, and a second end opposite the first end, and a dorsal portion extending between a first end fixed to the second end of the front portion and a second end fixed in an adjustable and reversible manner on the front portion of the positioning strap, - a second shoulder strap comprising a front portion extending in the direction of elevation between a first end, fixed to a second edge of the front portion of the positioning strap, opposite at the first edge in the transverse direction, and a second end opposite the first end, and a dorsal portion extending between a first end fixed to the second end of the front portion and a second end fixed in an adjustable and reversible manner on the front portion of the positioning strap,
[0007] the front portions of the first shoulder strap and the second shoulder strap being substantially inelastic and the back portions of the first shoulder strap and the second shoulder strap being elastic and crossing once between their first end and their second end.
[0008] The shoulder straps of the posture corrector device according to the invention comprising an inelastic front part and an elastic back part, the posture corrector device makes it possible to localize the force in the user's back, in particular where the back parts cross, without exerting an uncomfortable pulling force on the front of the user's shoulders. In addition, the adjustable and reversible attachment of the back part of the shoulder straps on the positioning strap makes it possible to simply modulate the corrective force exerted by the posture corrector device, or even to remove it without having to remove the posture corrector device. Thus, the user can modulate the corrective force throughout the day without having to put on and then remove the posture corrector device.
[0009] The posture correcting device according to the invention may comprise one or more of the following characteristics, taken in isolation or in any technically conceivable combination: - the dorsal portions of the first and second shoulder straps are engaged and cross in or over a substantially inelastic support element; - the support element comprises a pad extending against an inner face of the first and second shoulder straps so as to be applied against the back of a user, the dorsal parts of the first and second shoulder straps crossing on said pad; - the dorsal portions of the first and second shoulder straps each pass through a stop element between their first end and the support element, said stop elements limiting the movement of said support element on the dorsal portions of the first and second shoulder straps towards their first end; - the dorsal part of the first shoulder strap passes through a first loop in the vicinity of its second end, said first loop being fixed to the second edge of the front part of the positioning strap and / or to the first end of the front part of the second shoulder strap, the dorsal part of the second shoulder strap passing through a second loop in the vicinity of its second end, said second loop being fixed to the first edge of the front part of the positioning strap and / or to the first end of the front part of the first shoulder strap; the front portion of the positioning strap is formed by a first section extending from the first edge to a first fixing end and a second section extending from the second edge to a second fixing end, the first fixing end and the second fixing end being attachable to the front portion of the positioning strap in an adjustable and reversible manner; the second end of the dorsal portion of the first shoulder strap is adjustably and reversibly attachable to one of the first and second sections of the front portion of the positioning strap and the second end of the dorsal portion of the second shoulder strap is adjustably and reversibly attachable to the other of the first and second sections of the front portion of the positioning strap; the second end of the front portion of the first and second shoulder straps is sewn or welded to the first end of the back portion of the first and second shoulder straps; the first end of the front portion of the first and second shoulder straps is slidably mounted on the positioning strap so as to allow the position of said first end on the positioning strap to be adjusted; the dorsal part of the first and second shoulder straps comprises in the vicinity of its second end and on an internal face of said dorsal part a reversible fixing device, the front part of the positioning strap comprising, on an external face of said front part, a fixing device complementary to said reversible fixing device, said reversible fixing device being attachable in an adjustable and reversible manner in a plurality of positions on the complementary fixing device; the dorsal parts of the first and second shoulder straps are cuttable on the side of their second end, the reversible fastening device being removably fixed on each dorsal part; and the positioning strap can be cut from its front part so that the length of said positioning strap, measured in the transverse direction, is adjustable to the morphology of a user wearing the posture correcting device.
[0010] Other aspects and advantages of the invention will appear more clearly on reading the description which follows, given solely by way of non-limiting example, and made with reference to the appended drawings in which:

[0014] [Fig.4] - [Fig.4] is a schematic side view of the front and back portions of the posture corrector device of [Fig.l] worn by a user, and
[0015] [Fig.5] - [Fig.5] is a schematic front view representation of the dorsal portion of the posture corrector device of [Fig.l] worn by a user.
[0016] With reference to [Fig.l], a posture correcting device 1 is described, essentially comprising a positioning strap 2, a first shoulder strap 4 and a second shoulder strap 6.
[0017] The positioning strap 2 is arranged to surround the abdomen of a user, for example by passing under his chest as shown in [Fig. 2]. For this purpose, the positioning strap 2 extends in a transverse direction T and is arranged to close on itself by surrounding the abdomen of the user. The positioning strap 2 is for example made of a single piece formed from a strip of textile material, for example substantially inelastic. By substantially inelastic, it is meant that the length of the positioning strap 2, measured in the transverse direction T, remains substantially constant when the positioning strap 2 is stretched in the transverse direction T. For example, during such stretching, the extensibility of the positioning strap is less than or equal to 10%, that is to say that the positioning strap cannot be stretched beyond 10% of its initial length. The positioning strap 2 defines an inner face 8, applied against the user's skin when the posture correcting device 1 is worn, and an outer face 10, opposite the inner face 8, and facing outwards when the posture correcting device 1 is worn. The positioning strap 2 is for example made of back-to-back astrakhan, that is to say by forming a textile complex, for example made by counter-gluing, of two knits or fabrics having loops on their outer face, opposite their glued face. The knits or fabrics can be made of synthetic, natural or artificial materials.
[0018] The positioning strap 2 extends, in the transverse direction T, between a first fixing end 12 and a second fixing end 14 which can be fixed to each other and / or to the external face 10 of the positioning strap 2 in an adjustable and reversible manner. By "adjustable and reversible manner" is meant that the fixing between the first and second fixing ends 12 and 14 can be made and undone at will and that the position of these ends relative to each other can be modified so that the tightening exerted by the positioning strap 2 on the user's abdomen can be adjusted. In order to allow this adjustable and reversible fixing, the first and second fixing ends 12, 14 comprise for example, on the side of the internal face 8 of the positioning strap 2, a reversible fixing device 15 (shown in dotted lines in Figs.2 and 3), for example formed by a block of hooks, and the external face 10 of the positioning strap comprises a complementary fixing device for the reversible fixing device, for example loops or another hooking material, on which the hooks can hook to ensure fixing. According to one embodiment, the entire external face 10 of the positioning strap 2 is made with such a complementary fixing device so that a reversible fixing device can be fixed reversibly at any location on the external face 10 of the positioning strap. According to one embodiment, the removable strap is furthermore cuttable to allow its length, measured in the transverse direction T, to be adjusted to the user's morphology. In this case, the reversible fixing device 15 is removably fixed to the inner face of the positioning strap 2 so that its position can be adapted according to the length of the positioning strap 2.
[0019] The positioning strap 2 defines a front part 16, shown in [Fig.2], and a back part 18, shown in [Fig.5].
[0020] The front part 16 is intended to extend over the front of the user's body, passing for example under the user's chest, as shown in [Fig. 2]. When the first and second fixing ends 12, 14 are fixed, the front part 16 extends in the transverse direction between a first edge 20 and a second edge 22 each intended to extend substantially in line with one of the user's armpits while being spaced from the latter in an elevation direction Z, substantially perpendicular to the transverse direction T, as more particularly visible in [Fig. 4] for the first edge 20. According to the embodiment shown in Figs. 2 and 3, the front part 16 is formed by a first section 24 extending from the first edge 20 to the first fixing end 12 and by a second section 26 extending from the second edge 22 to the second fixing end 14.When not secured to each other, the first and second sections 24, 26 allow the positioning strap 2 to be placed around the user's abdomen, the positioning strap 2 then being held and adjusted around the abdomen by securing the first and second sections 24, 26 via the . first and second fixing ends 12, 14. In order to allow this fixing, one of the first and second sections 24, 26 comprises for example a through opening allowing the other section to pass through, as shown in [Fig. 3]. Thus, the internal faces 8 of the two fixing ends 12, 14 are placed opposite the external face 10 of the first and second sections 24, 26 and can be fixed thereon. According to one embodiment, only the section not comprising a through opening is cuttable to adjust the length of the positioning strap and the reversible fixing device 15 which is removable is also provided on this cuttable section.
[0021] The dorsal portion 18 of the positioning strap is intended to extend against the user's back in continuity with the front portion 16. As shown in [Fig. 5], the dorsal portion 18 extends from the first edge 20 to the second edge 22 of the front portion 16 so that the positioning strap 2 completely surrounds the user's body when the posture correcting device 1 is worn. According to the embodiment shown in the figures, the dorsal portion 18 is formed from a single section. However, according to a variant, the first and second fixing ends and the first and second sections could be provided in the dorsal portion 18, the front portion 16 then being formed from a single section and the positioning strap attaching to the user's back instead of attaching under the user's chest, as previously described.
[0022] The first shoulder strap 4 comprises a front part 28 and a back part 30.
[0023] The front portion 28 extends substantially along the elevation direction Z between a first end 32, fixed to the positioning strap, and a second end 34, opposite the first end 32 and intended to extend over the shoulder of the user when the posture correcting device 1 is worn. More particularly, the first end 34 of the front portion 28 of the first shoulder strap 4 is fixed to the first edge 20 of the front portion 16 of the positioning strap 2. By "fixed", it is meant that the fixing between the first end 32 and the positioning strap 2 is not reversible and cannot be undone under normal conditions of use of the posture correcting device 1. According to one embodiment, the first end 32 is permanently fixed to the positioning strap, for example by sewing between the front portion 28 of the first shoulder strap 4 and the positioning strap 2.However, according to a particularly advantageous embodiment, the first end 32 is sliding on the positioning strap around the first edge 20 of the front part 16 so that the position of the first shoulder strap 4 is adjustable relative to the positioning strap 2 in order to be adaptable to the morphology of the user. It should be noted. that this sliding is authorized without however allowing the first end 32 to be detached from the positioning strap 2.
[0024] When the posture correcting device is worn, the front portion 28 of the first shoulder strap 4 extends from the positioning strap 2 to a shoulder of the user, passing along one side of the user's chest, as more particularly visible in Figs. 2 and 4. The front portion 28 is for example arranged to cover the greater part of the shoulder so that the second end 34 of the front portion 28 extends over a rear part of the shoulder, as more particularly visible in [Fig. 5].
[0025] The front portion 28 is made of a substantially inelastic material. Thus, as described above, the front portion 28 is substantially inextensible when stretched in the direction from the first end 32 to the second end 34. For example, during such stretching, the extensibility of the front portion 28 of the first shoulder strap 4 is less than or equal to 10%. The front portion 28 of the first shoulder strap 4 is, for example, made of brushed knit or back-to-back astrakhan, for example from synthetic, natural or artificial textile materials.
[0026] According to one embodiment, the front part 28 of the first shoulder strap 4 is made of a material that does not irritate the skin, at least on its inner face, which makes it possible to improve the comfort of the posture correcting device 1 by preventing in particular the front part 28 of the first shoulder strap from irritating the user wearing this posture correcting device 1. Alternatively, the front part 28 may further comprise a lining, extending at least over the inner face of the first shoulder strap 4 in order to be applied against the user's body when the posture correcting device is worn.
[0027] The dorsal portion 30 of the first shoulder strap 4 extends in a direction inclined relative to the elevation direction Z between a first end 36 fixed permanently to the second end 34 of the front portion 28 and a second end 38 fixed in an adjustable and reversible manner to the positioning strap 2. By "inclined direction", it is meant that the dorsal portion 30 forms a non-zero angle with the elevation direction Z when the posture correcting device 1 is worn as shown in [Fig. 5], so that the dorsal portion 30 of the first shoulder strap 4 extends from the shoulder opposite the first edge 20 of the front portion 16 at its first end 36 to the vicinity of the second edge 22 of the front portion at its second end 38.The second end 38 of the dorsal part 30 is more particularly fixed in an adjustable and reversible manner on the front part 16 of the positioning strap 2 in the vicinity of the second edge 22. By in the vicinity of the second edge 22, it is meant more particularly that the . second end 38 of the dorsal part 30 can be fixed on the front part 16 of the positioning strap 2 at any location of one of the first and second sections 24, 26 of the front part 16 of the positioning strap 2 when the front part 16 is formed in two sections, as described above. In order to allow this adjustable and reversible fixing, the internal face of the second end 38 of the dorsal part 30 is for example provided with a reversible fixing device capable of cooperating with the complementary fixing device provided on the external face 10 of the front section 16 of the positioning strap 2. The reversible fixing device provided on the dorsal part 30 is for example of the same type as that provided on the fixing ends 12, 14 of the positioning strap 2.
[0028] The dorsal portion 30 is made of an elastic material. By "elastic" is meant that the dorsal portion 30 is extensible, at least along the direction of its length from the first end 36 to the second end 38, when a force tending to stretch it is applied to it and that the dorsal portion 30 returns to its initial length when this force ceases to be applied. For example, during such stretching, the extensibility of the dorsal portion 30 of the first shoulder strap 4 is greater than or equal to 50% of its initial length, that is to say that the dorsal portion 30 can be stretched beyond at least 50% of its initial length. The dorsal portion 30 of the first shoulder strap 4 is for example made of a narrow elastic ribbon composed of polyamide and elastane.
[0029] According to one embodiment, the dorsal part 30 can be cut on the side of its second end 38 and the reversible fastening device is removably fixed in the vicinity of this second end 38 so that the length of the first shoulder strap and the position of the reversible fastening device are adaptable to the morphology of the user.
[0030] The permanent fixing between the second end 34 of the front part 28 and the first end 36 of the back part 30 of the first shoulder strap 4 is for example obtained by sewing, by welding or by any other suitable assembly between the front part 28 and the back part 30.
[0031] The second shoulder strap 6 is for example identical to the first shoulder strap 4, that is to say that it comprises a substantially inelastic front part 40 and an elastic back part 42. The front part 40 extends in the elevation direction Z between a first end, permanently fixed to the second edge 22 or, preferably, slidingly around the second edge 22 of the front part 16 of the positioning strap 2, and a second end 46, opposite the first end and intended to extend over the shoulder of the user opposite the second edge 22 of the positioning strap 2 when the posture correcting device 1 is worn. The back part 42 extends in an inclined manner by relative to the elevation direction Z between a first end 48, permanently fixed to the second end 46 of the front part 40, and a second end 50 fixed in an adjustable and reversible manner on the positioning strap 2, in the vicinity of the first edge 20 of the front part 16 of the positioning strap 2. More particularly, the second end 50 is fixed in an adjustable and reversible manner to the other of the first and second sections 24, 26 of the front part 16 of the positioning strap 2 when the latter is made in two sections, as described previously. For other characteristics of the second shoulder strap 6, reference may be made to the description of the first shoulder strap 4.Thus, it should be noted in particular that the dorsal part 42 of the second shoulder strap 6 is for example cuttable on the side of its second end 50 and that the reversible fixing device is fixed removably in the vicinity of this second end 50 so that the length of the second shoulder strap and the position of the reversible fixing device are adaptable to the morphology of the user.
[0032] It is apparent from the orientation of the dorsal parts 30, 42 of the first and second shoulder straps 4, 6 that these cross once in the back of the user when the posture correcting device is worn, as more particularly visible in [Fig.5].
[0033] According to one embodiment, the dorsal portions 30, 42 are engaged and cross in a support element 52 arranged to be applied against the user's back when the posture correcting device 1 is worn. Such a support element 52 comprises at least one pad extending on the internal face of the first and second shoulder straps 4, 6 at the point where these shoulder straps cross so that the pad is interposed between the intersection of the dorsal portions 30, 42 and the user's back, the pad being applied against the user's back by the dorsal portions 30, 42. The pad has for example a surface area of at least 15 cm2. The pad has for example a substantially circular shape whose periphery extends around the intersection of the dorsal portions 30, 42, as more particularly visible in [Fig. 5].The pad is for example made of a substantially inelastic material, for example the same material as that of the positioning strap 2. According to one embodiment, the support element 52 further comprises an annular element 54 extending on the external face of the dorsal parts 30, 42 around the intersection thereof, and fixed on the pad between the dorsal parts 30, 42. For this purpose, the pad and the annular element 54 have for example the same contour, more particularly the same diameter. The annular element 54 extends around a central opening in which the dorsal parts 30, 42 of the first and second shoulder straps 4, 6 intersect, as shown in [Fig. 5]. The pad and the annular element 54 define between two pairs of loops 55 for the passage of the dorsal parts 30, . 42 of the first and second shoulder straps 4, 6. More particularly, the loops 55 of each pair of loops are diametrically opposed and extend in the inclined direction of each back portion 30, 42 so that each back portion 30, 42 is engaged in one of the pairs of loops, the back portions 30, 42 crossing between the loops 55, as visible in [Fig. 5]. This ensures the securing of the support element 52 to the first and second shoulder straps 4, 6. It is also understood that the back portions 30, 42 can slide in the loops of the support element 52 so that the height of the support element 52 in the back of a user can be modified.
[0034] However, in order to limit this movement towards the shoulders of the user, the posture correcting device 1 comprises, according to one embodiment, stop elements 56 extending around the dorsal parts 30, 42 of the first and second shoulder straps 4, 6 between the first ends 36, 48 of the dorsal parts 30, 42 and the support element 52. Each dorsal part 30, 42 is thus engaged in a stop element 56 which is arranged between the support element 52 and the shoulders of the user when the posture correcting device 1 is worn. The position of each stop element 56 is for example adjustable on the dorsal part 30, 42 around which the stop element 56 extends so as to be able to be adapted to the size of the user wearing the posture correcting device 1.
[0035] According to one embodiment, the posture correcting device 1 further comprises a first loop 58 and a second loop 60, in which the dorsal portion 30 of the first shoulder strap 4 and the dorsal portion 42 of the second shoulder strap 6 are respectively engaged in the vicinity of their second end 38, 50. More particularly, the dorsal portion 30 of the first shoulder strap 4 passes through the first loop 58 between the support element 52 and its second end 38 fixed in an adjustable and reversible manner on the front portion 16 of the positioning strap 2. Similarly, the dorsal portion 42 of the second shoulder strap 6 passes through the second loop 60 between the support element 52 and its second end 50 fixed in an adjustable and reversible manner on the front portion 16 of the positioning strap 2.The first loop 58 is fixed, for example by sewing, on the external face 10 of the positioning strap 2 at the second edge 22 of the front part 16 and / or on the external face of the front part 40 of the second shoulder strap 6 at its first end. The second loop 60 is fixed, for example by sewing, on the external face 10 of the positioning strap 2 at the first edge 20 of the front part 16 and / or on the external face of the front part 28 of the first shoulder strap 4 at its first end 32.
[0036] The operation of the posture correcting device 1 will now be described.
[0037] The user puts on the posture correcting device 1 by placing the open positioning strap 2 around his abdomen under his chest and passing his arms through the first and second shoulder straps 4, 6 so that the front parts 28, 40 of these straps pass along the user's chest, as shown in Figs. 2 and 4, and the back parts 30, 42 cross over the user's back, as shown in [Fig. 5]. The user can then close the positioning strap, for example by passing one of the first and second sections 24, 26 through the through opening of the other section and fixing the first and second fixing ends 12, 14 on the external face 10 of these sections 24, 26, as shown in [Fig. 3].
[0038] It should be noted that, thanks in particular to the support element 52 and the first and second loops 58, 60, the crossing of the back parts 30, 42 is maintained even when the posture correcting device 1 is not worn. Thus, when the user puts on the posture correcting device 1, he does not need to ensure the positioning of the back parts 30, 42 himself so that they cross behind his back. When the user puts on the posture correcting device 1, the back parts 30, 42 are thus already positioned correctly and the support element 52 is applied against the user's back.
[0039] The posture-correcting effect is then applied when the second ends 38, 50 of the dorsal parts 30, 42 of the first and second shoulder straps 4, 6 are fixed to the front part 16 of the positioning strap. Indeed, when this fixing is ensured, the dorsal parts 30, 42 exert traction on the user's back, represented by the arrows F in [Fig. 5], which tends to pull the shoulders back and towards each other thanks to the crossing of the shoulder straps in the user's back. By providing front portions 28, 40 of the first and second shoulder straps 4, 6 substantially inelastic, it is ensured that the traction force is concentrated in the user's back where posture correction is required, due to the elasticity of the back portions 30, 42, without exerting uncomfortable traction on the front of the body. The support element 52 makes it possible to localize the restoring force at the point where the dorsal parts 30, 42 intersect, which further improves the posture-correcting effect. In addition, the posture-correcting device allows the user freedom of movement, the front parts of the first and second shoulder straps 4, 6 not opposing such movements due to their rigidity.
[0040] The posture-correcting effect can be more or less accentuated depending on the position of the attachment of the second ends 38, 50 of the dorsal parts 30, 42 of the first and second shoulder straps 4, 6. Indeed, the closer the second ends 38, 50 are attached to the center of the front part 16 of the positioning strap, the center being equidistant from the first and second edges 20, 22 of the part frontal 16, and the greater the traction exerted on the user's back, which accentuates the posture-correcting effect. Similarly, this effect can be reduced, or even eliminated, by fixing the second ends 38, 50 in the vicinity or on the first and second edges 20, 22 of the frontal part 16 of the positioning strap 2, in order to release the traction exerted by the dorsal parts 30, 42 of the first and second shoulder straps 4, 6. This adjustment can be carried out in a particularly simple manner by the user himself, without requiring the intervention of a third person.
[0041] Thus, the user can choose to change the posture correcting effect throughout the day depending on his activities. This can be done without having to remove and put on the posture correcting device 1, in particular when the user wishes to remove the posture correcting effect.
