Abstract

The present invention relates to a stave (1) for making a wooden container stave such as a barrel, consisting of: - a first wooden strip (3) made from a first wood, called rarefied wood, one face of which is intended to form the inner face of the stave, the thickness of this first wooden strip (3) being less than or equal to 20 mm, preferably less than or equal to 17 mm, and even better less than or equal to 15 mm, - a second wooden strip (2) one face of which is intended to form the outer face of the stave, said second strip being made from a second wood, different from the first wood, - said first and second wooden strips being joined together solely by a mortise and tenon joint, without any adhesive binder such as glue, - the face of said second strip, opposite to that intended to form the outer face of the stave, called the joining face,comprising one or more tenons (21) projecting from it by extending only along the longitudinal axis of said stave, the face of the first wooden plank (3), opposite that intended to form the inner face of the stave, having for each tenon (21) of the assembly face (23) of said second wooden plank (2), a corresponding mortise extending along the longitudinal axis of said stave.
