Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for determining, at any point in a geographical area and at any time, the evolution in time and space of a concentration (Cp) of at least one pollutant emitted by a source (SE) and dispersed by the wind. In the present invention, the pollutants are considered to be transported by the wind, via the solution of an advection-diffusion equation, and the wind is characterized by Laplace flow (irrotational and incompressible flow), using a wind velocity potential model (WVPM). Furthermore, the present invention defines boundary conditions (BC) of the Stokes equations to account for complex obstacle geometries and non-uniform wind conditions within the wind velocity field model (WVPM).
