Description

Title of the invention: Device for unrolling wire mesh

[0001] The invention relates to a device for unrolling wire fencing for installation, particularly on posts delimiting a plot of land. It relates to such a device. It also relates to an assembly comprising such a device and a roll of wire fencing. It further relates to a method for installing wire fencing using at least one such device. Finally, it relates to the use of such a device.

[0002] Document FR2861064 describes a device for handling, transporting, unrolling and assisting in the vertical placement of products packaged in rolls, such as wire mesh, with or without a central core. It comprises a chassis, the stability of which is ensured by two large wheels mounted on a rigid axle and at the center and front of which is fixed a bearing containing ball bearings, an adjustable front stabilizer, an adjustable rear stabilizer, which is equipped with a handle and a drawbar for hitching to the rear of a tractor on which assembly are arranged a rotating platform whose axis is fitted into the bearing, two vertical tubular masts supporting two adjustable gates equipped with their rotating guides, the opening angle of which is adjustable according to the diameter of the rolls, and a cradle adjustable vertically by sliding and locking.

[0003] A first problem relating to such a device is that it is extremely complex to manufacture and that it comprises an extremely large number of parts, which generates very high manufacturing costs.

[0004] A second problem with this device arises from the mobility of the gates which are likely to block the unwinding of the mesh, the latter being regularly carried out in jerks due to the tendency of the mesh to return to its initial rolled shape.

[0005] A third problem relating to such a device is that it requires a motorized vehicle, such as a tractor, to be moved, which makes it unusable on steep terrain including a plot whose perimeter is to be fenced.

[0006] A fourth problem lies in the fact that such a device is unsuitable for allowing the installation of a fence on a low wall delimiting a plot, due to its bulk and weight.

[0007] An object of the present invention is to provide a device and apparatus for easily unrolling wire fencing for installation on posts delimiting a plot of land. The apparatus comprises such a device, which is simple and effective, with a reduced and optimized number of parts, so as to be easily transportable and usable in any location, including steep terrain, or even for installing wire fencing on a low wall delimiting a plot, such a device preventing the wire mesh from twisting on itself to regain its initial rolled shape, such a device preventing the wire mesh from twisting, to facilitate quick and safe installation without risk of injury to an installer.

[0008] The present invention falls within this context and proposes a device for unrolling and guiding a wire mesh. The device comprises a support equipped with a mast.

[0009] According to the present invention, the support is equipped with a grid guide element comprising two rods, each rod having a first rod end forming an anchoring point of the rod on the support and a second rod end which is a free end.

[0010] The device advantageously comprises at least one of the following technical features, taken alone or in combination:

[0011] - the device consists of a support, a mast and two rods,

[0012] - the mast extends in a first direction and the rods extend respectively along a second and a third direction which are parallel to each other and parallel to the first direction,

[0013] - the support is shaped into a flat plate or a U-shape,

[0014] The invention also relates to an assembly comprising such a device and a wire mesh formed in a roll comprising a central core housing the mast, the second direction and the third direction being separated by a first gap which is greater than a thickness of the wire mesh.

[0015] The invention also relates to an apparatus for unrolling and guiding the wire mesh comprising such a device and a guiding accessory comprising a point surmounted by an enclosure which is delimited at least by two upper uprights carrying a respective rod.

[0016] Preferably, each rod has a first rod end which constitutes a point of attachment of each rod on the upper upright to which each rod is attached, and a second rod end which is free.

[0017] The invention also relates to a method of installing wire mesh on posts by means of such a device, the method comprising a first step of placing the roller on the mast, then a second step of pulling the end of the wire mesh, then a third step of inserting the end of the wire mesh between the rods.

[0018] The invention also relates to a method of installing wire mesh on posts by means of such a device, the method comprising a fourth step of inserting the end of the wire mesh between the rods, then a fifth step of folding the guide accessory against a ground for its retraction out of a plan for installing the wire mesh.

[0019] The invention also relates to the use of such a device to install wire mesh formed in rolls on posts.

[0020] The invention and its advantages will be better understood upon reading the following description and non-limiting embodiments, with reference to the accompanying figures in which:

[0021] [Fig-1] represents a side view of a device for installing wire mesh formed in roll on stakes delimiting a plot.

[0022] [Fig.2] represents a perspective view of a first variant embodiment of a component of the device illustrated in [Fig.1].

[0023] [Fig.3] represents a perspective view of a second variant embodiment of a component of the apparatus illustrated in [Fig.1].

[0024] [Fig.4] represents a side view of an accessory component of the apparatus illustrated on the [Fig.l],

[0025] [Fig.5] represents a perspective view of the accessory illustrated in [Fig.4].

[0026] Figure 1 shows a device 1 for unrolling a wire mesh 2 which is initially packaged in roll 3 and which is shown being installed along stakes 4 delimiting a plot 5. In other words, device 1 is intended to facilitate the unrolling of the fencing 2 from its initial packaging in roll 3 to installation along the stakes 4, in particular arranged in an installation plan P. To this end, device 1 includes a device 6 for unrolling and guiding the fencing 2 during its installation along the stakes 4 in order to fix the fencing 2 to the stakes 4.

[0027] Referring also to [Fig. 2] and [Fig. 3], the device 6 comprises, in its entirety, a support 7 equipped with a mast 8 and two rods 9a, 9b. It is understood that the device 6 comprises only four parts, making it an extremely simple, easy, and inexpensive device to manufacture, transport, install, and store. According to a preferred embodiment, the support 7, the mast 8, and the two rods 9a, 9b are made of a metallic material such as steel, aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, or a zinc-aluminum alloy, or some other similar material. Alternatively, the device 6 according to the invention may be made of a rigid plastic or polymer material, including for example polypropylene, polyethylene, polycarbonate, polyamide (nylon), polyacetal (POM), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), or polyetheretherketone (PEEK).Composite materials, such as glass or carbon fiber reinforced plastics, or metal matrix composites, can also be used to provide increased rigidity while maintaining a reduced weight.

[0028] The support 7 is intended to carry the mast 8 and the two rods 9a, 9b and to hold them on the ground S. For this purpose, on the first variant of the embodiment illustrated in particular in [Fig.1] and [Fig.2], the support 7 is shaped into a plate 10 which is flat, in particular circular, and which extends in a first plane PI orthogonal to the installation plane P and parallel to the ground S. On [Fig.3] illustrating a second variant of the embodiment, the support 7 is shaped into a U so as to be easily fitted onto a wall 20, represented in dotted lines, the support comprising a base 21 which comes into contact on an upper face 22 of the wall 20 and arms 23 parallel to each other and orthogonal to the base 21 which come to grip lateral faces 24 of the wall 20.

[0029] The mast 8 is, for example, shaped into a tubular mast extending along a first direction DI that is orthogonal to the first plane PL. The mast 8 is designed to receive the wire mesh 2 arranged in its initial form as a roll 3. Thus, the mast 8 is housed inside a central core 11 comprising the roll 3, the central core 11 forming an axial recess around which the wire mesh 2 is wound. The mast 8 forms an axis of rotation A1 around which the roll 3 undergoes rotation 12 during a pull 13 on one end of the wire mesh 14.

[0030] The height of the mast 8 is preferably at least 50 cm, more preferably at least 75 cm, even more preferably at least 100 cm, even more preferably at least 120 cm, and, even more advantageously, at least 150 cm.

[0031] According to a particularly advantageous mode, the height of the mast is preferably at least 170 cm. Specifically, the height of the mast 8 is preferably about 50 cm, 60 cm, 70 cm, 75 cm, 80 cm, 100 cm, 110 cm, 120 cm, 125 cm, 130 cm, 140 cm, 150 cm, 160 cm, 170 cm, 175 cm, 180 cm, 190 cm and 200 cm.

[0032] According to a particular embodiment of the invention, the mast 8 can be a telescopic mast, that is to say a mast made up of several sections which can slide into each other, thus allowing progressive deployment and height adjustment according to specific needs.

[0033] The rods 9a, 9b extend respectively along a second direction D2 and a third direction D3, which are parallel to the first direction DI. The second direction D2 and the third direction D3 are located at the same distance D from the first direction DI, taken in a plane orthogonal to the directions D, D1, D2. Furthermore, the second direction D2 and the third direction D3 are separated by a first gap El, which is non-zero, the first gap El being taken between the second direction D2 and the third direction D3 in a plane orthogonal to the second direction D2 and the third direction D3. Preferably, the first gap El is greater than a thickness E3 of the mesh 2, the thickness E3 of the mesh 2 being taken between the two faces of the mesh 2 located on either side of the installation plane P of the mesh. 2. Preferably, the first gap El is between 1.1 times and 1.25 times the thickness E3 of the mesh 2.

[0034] The rods 9a, 9b together form a guide element 15 for the mesh 2 during the pulling 13 of the mesh 2 within the installation plane P by an installer. For this purpose, the first direction DI is contained within the installation plane P and the second direction D2 and the third direction D3 are arranged on either side of the installation plane P. Thus, the mesh 2 is easily unrolled within the installation plane P while being held between the rods 9a, 9b and within the first gap El between the rods 9a, 9b.

[0035] Each rod 9a, 9b has a first rod end 16a, 16b which constitutes a respective anchor point for each rod 9a, 9b on the support 7, and a second rod end 17a, 17b which is free. In other words, the second rod ends 17a, 17b are free from contact with any part. As a result, when the mesh 2 is pulled 13, the second rod ends 17a, 17b are able to move around the respective direction D2, D3 along which the rods 9a, 9b are positioned, due to their intrinsic flexibility. In other words, the second rod ends 17a, 17b are able to vibrate around the respective direction D2, D3 along which the rods 9a, 9b are positioned, due to their intrinsic flexibility. Such flexibility is obtained from the choice of the appropriate material constituting the rods 9a, 9b and their dimensioning, in particular their diameter.

[0036] The rods 9a, 9b are preferably of a height less than the height of the mast 8. Also, the height of the rods 9a, 9b is preferably at least 40 cm, more preferably at least 55 cm, even more preferably at least 80 cm, even more preferably at least 100 cm, and, even more advantageously, at least 120 cm.

[0037] According to a particularly advantageous mode, the height of the rods 9a, 9b is preferably at least 150 cm. Specifically, the height of the rods 9a, 9b is preferably about 40 cm, 50 cm, 60 cm, 70 cm, 75 cm, 80 cm, 100 cm, 110 cm, 120 cm, 125 cm, 130 cm, 140 cm, 150 cm, 160 cm, 170 cm, and 175 cm.

[0038] According to a particular embodiment of the invention, the rods 9a, 9b can also be telescopic rods.

[0039] On [Fig.2], it is noted that the support 7 is provided with a plurality of means of fixing 18 of the device 6 on the ground S, such as drill holes suitable for receiving nails or the like.

[0040] In Figures 4 and 5, the device 1 also includes at least one guide accessory 30 which is intended to guide the wire mesh 2 between two posts 4 shown in [Fig. 1]. The guide accessory 30 includes a spike 31 intended to anchor the guide accessory 30 in the ground S between two posts 4 and substantially in the Installation plan P. The spike 31 is surmounted by a housing 32 suitable for receiving a foot of the installer to press on a lower upright 33 of the housing 32 in order to drive the spike 31 into the ground S. The housing 32 is also delimited by two upper uprights 34a, 34b, preferably coplanar, and which are each equipped with a rod 35a, 35b.

[0041] The slats 35a, 35b extend respectively along a fourth direction D4 and a fifth direction D5 which are parallel to the first direction D1, in the operating position of the guide accessory 30. The fourth direction D4 and the fifth direction D5 are separated by a second gap E2 which is non-zero, the second gap E2 being taken between the fourth direction D4 and the fifth direction D5 in a plane orthogonal to the fourth direction D4 and the fifth direction D5. Preferably, the second gap E2 is greater than the thickness E3 of the mesh 2. Even more preferably, the second gap E2 is between 1.1 times and 1.25 times the thickness E3 of the mesh 2.

[0042] The rods 35a, 35b together form a guiding means 40 for the mesh 2 during the pulling 13 of the mesh 2 within the installation plane P by an installer. For this purpose, the fourth direction D4 and the fifth direction D5 are arranged on either side of the installation plane P. Thus, the mesh 2 is easily unrolled within the installation plane P while being held between the rods 35a, 35b and within the second gap E2 between the rods 35a, 35b. It is understood that the rods 9a, 9b and the rods 35a, 35b play similar roles in guiding the mesh as it is unrolled within the installation plane P.

[0043] Each rod 35a, 35b has a first end of a rod 36a, 36b which constitutes a fixing point for each rod 35a, 35b on the upper upright 34a, 34b to which each rod 35a, 35b is attached, and a second end of a rod 37a, 37b which is free. In other words, the second ends of rods 37a, 37b are free from contact with any part. As a result, during tension 13 on the grid 2, the second ends of rods 37a, 37b are able to move around the respective direction D4, D5 along which the rods 35a, 35b are provided, due to their intrinsic flexibility. In other words, the second ends of rod 37a, 37b are able to vibrate around the respective direction D4, D5 along which the rods 35a, 35b are provided, due to their intrinsic flexibility.Such flexibility is achieved through the choice of the appropriate material used in the construction of the 35a, 35b rods and their dimensions, particularly their diameter.

[0044] All these arrangements are such that a method for installing a wire mesh 2 on posts 4 comprises a first step of placing the roller 3 on the post 8, then a second step of pulling the end of the wire mesh 14, then a third step of inserting the end of the wire mesh 14 between the rods 9a, 9b inside the first gap EL

[0045] In the case of an installation of the wire mesh on stakes 4 driven into the ground, the method includes a fourth step of inserting the end of the wire mesh 14 between the rods 35a, 35b inside the second gap E2, then a fifth step of folding the guide accessory 30 against the ground S for its retraction out of the installation plane P.
