Abstract

The invention relates to a method for autonomously controlling a power steering actuator (12) of a motor vehicle (10), said power steering actuator being adapted to vary a steering angle relative to the steering of the vehicle's steer wheels. The method comprises the steps of: - acquiring a trajectory enabling the motor vehicle to be parked in a parking space, - acquiring parameters (y, Ψ, δf) relating to the position of the motor vehicle relative to said parking space and / or said steering angle, and - calculating by a computer (13) a control command for said power steering actuator as a function of said parameters. According to the invention, the calculation of said control command is performed by means of a controller that varies according to the speed of the motor vehicle. Figure for the abstract: Fig. 1
