Description

The invention relates to a composition for colouring hair, in particular eyelashes and eyebrows. Such compositions have long been known. In the past, silver nitrate in combination with 1,2,4-trihydroxybenzene was often used as the colouring component. However, 1,2,4-trihydroxybenzene is not without health risks and has now been banned in various countries. Another common way of hair colouring uses a colour cream with organic colour precursors and an oxidative developer that includes hydrogen peroxide. However, this process is prohibited for use by end users in the field of eyelash colouring and is only permitted in the field of professional colouring of eyebrow and eyelash hair, for example in hairdressing salons or cosmetic studios. EP 2 785 323 B1 describes a composition for colouring keratin fibers. This term also includes hair. The composition has a component A and a component B which are one after the other applied to the hair to be coloured. The component A contains extracts from witch hazel, green tea, tanner acacia wood, and pomegranate, and mixtures thereof. Component B contains a silver salt in an ammoniacal solution. The disadvantage of this composition is that some of the extracts used are in direct competition with foods for human nutrition and could serve as such (green tea, pomegranate). When using tanner acacia wood, the acacia trees must be cut down or pruned to obtain it. It is therefore the object of the invention to provide a composition for colouring hair, which composition avoids the disadvantages mentioned above and uses plant extracts in a resource-saving and sustainable manner and provides a good colouring result. This object is achieved by the characterizing features of the claims, which have the following special meaning. The composition comprises two components, which can be used as a combined preparation for simultaneous, sequential or separate administration, namely a first component that contains both plant extracts and gallic acid or its esters or salts and a second component that comprises a silver salt. Extracts from walnut shells, nettle leaves, and red vine leaves are used as plant 5 extracts. These plants play little or no role in human nutrition. It is also not necessary to cut down trees to get the extracts. As a result, the raw materials can be obtained in a very resource-saving and sustainable manner. Solely the use of both components and the interaction of the plant extracts and the silver salt produces the desired colouring result. 10 For the second component, ammoniacal silver nitrate solution has proven effective. Such solutions have long been used in the field of hair colouring compositions. Particularly good colouring results are achieved when the plant extracts used, i.e. walnut shell extract, nettle leaf extract, and red vine leaf extract, are each present in a concentration of 1 wt.% to 10 wt.% in the first component. Depending on the exact concentration of the individual plant extracts, it is possible to subsequently achieve different colour nuances in the colouring result, for example brown and black. In addition to the plant extracts, the first component also contains additional gallic acid or one or more gallates. This addition improves the colouring result. Alkyl esters of gallic acid can be used, such as C1-10 alkyl esters. In particular, the use of propyl gallate—an ester of gallic acid—has proven to be advantageous in this case. The first component may contain 0.1 wt.% to 0.5 wt.% of gallic acid or gallates. 25 The second component may contain a concentration of silver nitrate of 1.5 wt.% to 3 wt.%. At these concentrations, good colouring results are also achieved for different colour nuances. One or both components may contain thickeners. These make the components slightly thicker, 30 making them easier to work with, less dripping, and therefore safer for use around the eyes. The first component is preferably slightly acidic and has a pH of 4.5 to 6.0. The second component, on the other hand, has a slightly alkaline reaction and has a pH of 8.0 to 9.0. In addition to the ingredients mentioned, the first component can also contain solvents and / or preservatives and / or reducing agents. These serve to make the first component as durable as possible and to avoid undesirable oxidation. In order to carry out the colouring, the first component is first applied to the hair to be coloured and left to act. Subsequently, the region is dabbed off to remove excess first component. The second component is then applied to the hair and left to work there again. After the second component has also been dabbed off after it has taken effect, the treated hair has a permanent colouring. Possible compositions of the components were: First component: Example 1, colour: Walnut shell extract 9.00 wt.% Red vine leaf extract 4.50 wt.% Nettle extract 3.00 wt.% Propyl gallate 0.40 wt.% Demineralized water to 100.00 wt.% Example 2, colour: Walnut shell extract 3.00 wt.% Red vine leaf extract 6.00 wt.% Nettle extract 2.00 wt.% Propyl gallate 0.15 wt.% Demineralized water to 100.00 wt.% Example 3, colour: Walnut shell extract 6.00 wt.% Red vine leaf extract 3.00 wt.% Nettle extract 2.00 wt.% Propyl gallate 0.3 wt.% Demineralized water to 100.00 wt.% Example 4, colour: Walnut shell extract 2.00 wt.% Red vine leaf extract 4.00 wt.% Nettle extract 2.00 wt.% Propyl gallate 0.1 wt.% Demineralized water to 100.00 wt.% Second component: 10 Example 1, developer: Silver nitrate 3.00 wt.% Ammonia solution, 25% 2.65 wt.% Demineralized water to 100.00 wt.% Example 2, developer: Silver nitrate 1.50 wt.% Ammonia solution, 25% 2.65 wt.% Demineralized water to 100.00 wt.% Finally, it should also be pointed out that the embodiments described in this case are merely exemplary implementations of the invention. The invention is not limited to this. On the contrary, modifications and changes that correspond to the idea of the invention 5 are also possible. The exact compositions of the components can vary. 29 10 24
