Abstract

A method 10 of selecting a predetermined CBT pathway to help manage symptoms of the menopause. Personal data 14 relating to a user is received 12 and assessed 16 to establish 18 a menopause presentation type from a plurality of predetermined menopause presentation types 34, 38, 42, 46. A predetermined CBT pathway is allocated 20 according to the established menopause presentation type 34, 38, 42, 46. Optionally there are a plurality of corresponding CBT pathways 36, 40, 44, 48. Personal data 14 may include age, physiological symptom data and psychiatric data. Predetermined CBT pathways may comprise common pathway steps applicable to all menopause presentation types as well as pathway steps aimed only at a particular menopause presentation type. Pathway steps may include video, audio, reflection and / or question and answer type steps.
