Device for testing analyte in liquid sample

Abstract

A device comprising a sample chamber 105 with a sample collector 104 and a detection chamber 102 with a testing element (Figure 1, 900) connected via a connecting chamber 108, wherein liquid in the sample chamber is at a higher level than the bottom of the detection chamber. The chambers may be in fluid communication only when the detection chamber is in a second, lower, position. A pierceable sealing film (Figure 7, 107) may be provided between the detection or sample chamber and the connecting chamber. In the second position, the detection chamber may pierce the film, optionally with a piercing element (Figure 6, 1026) which may be integrally joined to the chamber via a tubular structure located in a channel between the connecting and detection chambers. The sample collector may have a cover 1041 for sealing an opening of the sample chamber, and a collection area 1047 having a groove for the sample. The connecting chamber may be located on the base of the device and may have a recess (Figure 7, 1068) for the detection chamber. The device may comprise a removable limiting structure 106 comprising a snap ring 1061 clamped in a groove 1025 of the detection chamber, to fix the detection chamber in a first position.
