Method and system for obtaining a summary description of skipped video frames

Abstract

Obtaining a summary description of skipped video frames, comprising: sequentially displaying one or more video frames of a video frame sequence (Fig. 2; 302); receiving an input to skip displaying one or more other video frames of the video sequence (Fig. 2; 304); generating a summary description of the skipped one or more video frames (Fig. 5; 502); presenting the summary description of the skipped one or more video frames (Fig. 5; 506). The video frame sequence may be a recorded content ‘cut scene’ in a video game, an introductory scene in recorded content, a recap scene in recorded content, or a fast-forwarded or skipped portion of recorded content. The summary description may be based on the text-based descriptors associated with the skipped frames. The summary description may be text or audio. Generating the summary description may be performed by machine learning.
