Abstract

A virtual tour content management system comprises a web-based platform to provide an interactive 360-degree virtual tour of a location, venue or space, wherein the web-based platform allows a client or an administrator to maintain, manage and edit the content on the virtual tour. The web-based platform provides an accessibility widget 402 for the user to adapt the presentation of the content and related material to match their accessibility needs and requirements. This provides a web-based platform capable of providing virtual tours accessible to all users, including those with e.g. visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities. The platform allows creation and delivery of 360-degree digital content according to WCAG 2.1 and ADA guideline standards. Users may be allowed to adapt content with features including a static version, audio transcript, hotspot navigation, dyslexia-friendly mode, bigger text, text spacing, desaturation, high contrast, autorotation settings, enlarged cursor, voice recognition, voice control, synchronized scene guides with subtitles and a guided navigation tool to map directions from one point to another in the tour. A live guided tour with a scene guide or talking head and a navigation tool may be provided.
