Protective system for a rotatable virtual reality apparatus

Abstract

A rotatable virtual reality apparatus comprising: a shaft 9 for supporting a user support 2; a base 4 arranged to support the shaft; a bearing arrangement arranged to allow the shaft to rotate relative to the base; a motor arranged to cause rotation of the shaft relative to the base; two or more legs 6 for supporting the base on a ground surface, the legs extending outwardly away from the base; and a protective cover 10 arranged to be attached to the rotatable virtual reality apparatus between the legs and the user support to prevent the user’s feet or legs getting trapped between the legs during rotation of the shaft; and a controller, the controller being arranged to prevent activation of the motor if the protective cover is not attached to the rotatable virtual reality apparatus.
