Personal care concentrates

Abstract

A kit of compositions for forming a personal care composition is provided, wherein the kit comprises (i) a first composition, which is a liquid or gel and is contained within a water-soluble capsule, wherein the first composition comprises one or more emollients, and one or more antimicrobial agent; and (ii) a second composition which is a powder and comprises one or more anionic surfactant, and one or more amphoteric surfactant. The first or second composition may further comprise one or more alpha hydroxy acid, such as citric acid. The antimicrobial agent may be phenoxyethanol, caprylyl glycol, propylene glycol and / or piroctone olamine. The water-soluble capsule may be formed from polyvinyl alcohol. A method of using the kit, wherein the first and second compositions are mixed with water to form a personal care composition is provided. A product / concentrate for diluting with water to form a personal care composition comprising a water-soluble capsule, comprising (i) a first compartment containing the liquid or gel first composition; and (ii) a second compartment containing the second powder composition is provided. The use of the kit / product reduces plastic waste. Shampoos and body washes prepared by dissolving the personal care concentrates in water are exemplified.
