Abstract
Description
[0002] Normally when person need to go to washroom the body of the person will indicate with pressure or pain in the stomach, but the people who use Ostomy bag they can’t feel any pain or pressure in their stomach. Usually, the Ostomy bag is attached over an opening in the stomach area and without any indication the waste from stomach disposes in the Ostomy bag. The person has to timely empty that Ostomy bag otherwise the bag may burst which may turn into an embarrassing situations where the bag bursts and leaves the person soiled in their own waste.
[0003] Presently, all the existing inventions regarding the Ostomy bag that indicate / notify the user about the level of the user’s Ostomy bag are not offering any solution for a simple device that just notifies when the bag is full. Some of the patents provides level indication of the Ostomy bag with light indication or sound indication that sometimes works and sometimes not and are over complicated with the need for connection to a smart phone. If the user can’t hear anything then sound indication will not work. If the user can’t see anything they won’t be able to detect the bag level and if the user does not have a phone with them then they cannot get notified.
[0004] Therefore, there is need to alarming / indicating device for Ostomy bag only when the bag is full and needs emptying, whilst also allowing different interchangeable heads to alert the user depending on their needs being of either vibration for discreteness, sound alarm for night times. SUMMARY
[0005] The object of the present disclosure is to provide a device that alarm / indicate the user when the Ostomy bag is full.
[0006] The Ostomy bag alarm device comprises a main body and a tensioning cord that sense the tension when bag is full. Further, a tension housing is situated on right side of the main body for adjustment of notification, and a lever switch configured to sense the tension and send signals to a wiring loom arranged on left side of the main body. A lever cover is arranged over the body to prevent the lever from being damage. The tension cord is fixed to lever arm along with wiring loom. Further, the device comprises a battery holder and switch arranged on the wiring loom and allows the user to switch on and off the device when needed and allows for easy replacement of the watch sized battery. At the end of the wiring loom is an interchangeable head which can be switched from a vibration pad or sound alarm that notifies the user when the stoma bag is fully inflated.
[0007] According to one embodiment, the method of working of the Ostomy bag alarm device by the user includes de-hooking the tension cord from the tension housing and placing the Ostomy bag on the man body, re-hooking the tension cord from over the Ostomy bag. According to one embodiment, when the bag of the device gets filled, it increases the tension on the tension cord. The tension cord transfers said tension to the lever switch that is configured to sense the tension over the cord. Further, once the tension reaches to a predefined level, the switch activates the vibrator to vibrate and notify the user to empty the bad to avoid any situation of overflow or bursting of the bag. The tension cord is an elasticated cord as this allows movement of the device without causing false activation, only when the bag is fully inflated does the elastic cord pull on the lever switch enough to activate the alarm.
[0008] The object of the discloser is to notify the user about the Ostomy bag with accuracy so that the user don’t have to face any embarrassing situation.
[0009] Further object of the discloser to provide a device to alert the user even with visual and hearing disability to change the bag on time by means of the vibration attachment.
[0010] Another object of the invention is to provide a device with an accurate working of alarming system that will notify the user either by vibration or sound depending on their needs. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
