Description
FIELD The present disclosure relates to an apparatus for an artificial climbing wall, a method of manufacturing an apparatus for an artificial climbing wall and a method of forming an artificial climbing wall. In particular, but not exclusively, the present disclosure relates to a handgrip and I or macro for an artificial climbing wall and a method of manufacturing a handgrip and / or macro. BACKGROUND Apparatus for attachment to artificial climbing walls are well known in the field of rock climbing. They are advantageous as they permit the artificial climbing wall to be altered to produce different routes for users to climb and so maintain interest in the artificial climbing wall. For example, volumes may be relatively larger apparatus which may be used for providing large adjustments to the overall elevation of a portion of the artificial climbing wall. Volumes may have the shape of a triangular prism which may be attached to a generally vertical climbing wall in use to adjust the elevation. Macros, which are smaller than volumes, may be provided for modifying or providing formations on an artificial climbing wall on top of the volumes. The macros may mimic rock formations in nature and so create interest and increase difficulty of a climbing route on the wall. The volumes and macros are releasably attachable to the wall so that they may be moved to change the climbing routes regularly. An issue with such apparatus is that experienced rock climbers can rely on them to gain grip and so reduce the difficulty of the climbing route. Further, because the apparatuses are regularly attached and detached from the wall they become worn in use and cease to function correctly or lose their aesthetic appearance. Such apparatuses are also often painted to indicate of which climbing route they are part. An issue presented by this is that once worn, the apparatuses are not able to be recycled. It is an object of the present disclosure to address the above problems. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION According to a first aspect of the present disclosure, we provide an apparatus for an artificial climbing wall, including: a body including: a periphery; a first surface; and a second surface generally opposite the first surface positioned at the periphery which, in use, is positioned against the artificial climbing wall; wherein the first surface directly connects to the second surface at the periphery; wherein the first surface is inclined at an angle to the second surface at the periphery. The first surface may be for fixing handgrips thereto. The first surface may be inclined at an angle to the second surface for preventing finger holding at the periphery. The first surface may be generally convex. The second surface may be generally planar. The apparatus may include a third surface positioned generally opposite the first surface and which may extend up to the second surface. The third surface may be substantially the same shape as the first surface. The first surface may include one or more first surface portions which have a relatively smooth finish. The first surface may include one or more second surface portions which have a relatively rough finish. The apparatus may include an attachment formation for attaching the apparatus to an artificial climbing wall. The body may have a first thickness, defined between the first and third surfaces. The attachment formation may have a second thickness. The second thickness may be greater than the first thickness. The attachment formation may include a first end and a second end. The first end of the attachment formation may be positioned on the first surface. The first end of the attachment formation may be positioned so as to be substantially continuous with the first surface. The second end of the attachment formation may protrude from the third surface. The second end of the attachment formation may be substantially discontinuous with the third surface. The attachment formation may define an aperture for receipt of a fastener. At least a portion of the attachment formation may be integrally formed with the body. The attachment formation may include a reinforcement member for reinforcing the attachment formation and for receipt of a fastener. The reinforcement member may be formed from a material stronger I harder than the body, e.g., metal. The reinforcement member may include a reinforcement member body on which is positioned a gripping portion and a fastener receiving portion. The fastener receiving portion may be an aperture / channel which extends through the reinforcement member body. The reinforcement member body may include an outwardly facing surface on which is positioned the gripping portion. The gripping portion may be a protrusion which extends outwardly from the reinforcement member body. The gripping portion may be a barb, or may be shaped as a triangular prism. The reinforcement member may include a plurality of gripping portions positioned circumferentially around the reinforcement member body. The apparatus may include a plurality of attachment formations. The plurality of attachment formations may be positioned close to the periphery. The apparatus may be a macro for an artificial climbing wall. According to a second aspect of the present disclosure we provide an apparatus for an artificial climbing wall without a flange for attaching the apparatus to the wall. The second aspect of the present disclosure may include one or more or all the features of the first aspect of the present disclosure. According to a third aspect of the present disclosure we provide a method of manufacturing an apparatus for an artificial climbing wall, including the steps of: providing a sheet of thermoplastic, e.g., Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS); heating the sheet of thermoplastic; providing a negative apparatus mould; applying a vacuum through the mould to draw the sheet into the mould; allowing the sheet to cool; removing the sheet from the mould; and cutting the apparatus from the sheet. The method may include the step of providing an apparatus mould including formations for forming attachment formations for attaching the apparatus to an artificial climbing wall. The thermoplastic may be acrylic capped ABS. The thermoplastic may be ABS capped with poly(methyl methacrylate), e.g., ABS PMMA. The method may include the step of pressing a reinforcement member into the apparatus once formed, or an attachment formation once formed. The method may include the step of heating the sheet of thermoplastic to a temperature between 120 °C and 370 °C. The apparatus may be a macro for an artificial climbing wall. The apparatus may be as set forth in the first and second aspects of the present disclosure. The third aspect may include one or more or all the features of the first and / or second aspects of the present disclosure. According to a fourth aspect of the present disclosure we provide a reinforcement member for use in an apparatus for an artificial climbing wall, wherein the reinforcement member includes one or more or all the features as set forth in claims 5 to 8. The fourth aspect may include one or more or all the features of the first and I or second and I or third aspects of the present disclosure. According to a fifth aspect of the present disclosure we provide an apparatus for an artificial climbing wall including a body formed at least partly from Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS). The apparatus may be a macro. The body may include a first layer formed from ABS and a second layer formed from acrylic. A thickness of the second layer may be less than a thickness of the first layer. The second layer may form a first surface of the body for attaching handgrips thereto. The second layer may include a dye / pigment for colouring the first surface. The fifth aspect may include one or more or all the features of the first and / or second and I or third and / or fourth aspects of the present disclosure. According to a sixth aspect of the present disclosure we provide an apparatus, e.g., a handgrip or macro, for an artificial climbing wall, including: a body including: a first, generally outwardly facing, surface; and a third surface generally opposite the first surface; further including a body strengthening member which extends across at least a portion, or an entirety, of the third surface for reinforcing the body. The apparatus may include first and second attachment formations for attaching the apparatus to an artificial climbing wall. The body strengthening member may extend away from the first attachment formation. The body strengthening member may extend away from the first attachment formation towards the second attachment formation so as to intersect the second attachment formation. The body strengthening member may extend generally linearly. The body strengthening member may extend from in-between the first and second attachment formations across the third surface. The body strengthening member may extend generally linearly. The body may include first and second sides. The first attachment formation may be positioned on the first side. The second attachment formation may be positioned on the second side. The apparatus may include a plurality of first and second attachment formations and a plurality of body strengthening members. A first body strengthening member may intersect a second body strengthening member. The plurality of body strengthening members may intersect so as to form triangles across the third surface. The apparatus may include a first plurality of body strengthening members which extend across the third surface generally parallel to each other. The apparatus may include a second plurality of body strengthening members which extend across the third surface generally parallel to each other. The apparatus may include a third plurality of body strengthening members which extend across the third surface generally parallel to each other. The first plurality of body strengthening members may extend in a first direction across the third surface. The second plurality of body strengthening members may extend in a second direction across the third surface different to the first direction so as to intersect the first plurality of body strengthening members. The second body portion may be for fixing handgrips thereto. The first body portion may include a first fastener part. The second body portion may include a second fastener part which cooperates with the first fastener part for fastening the first and second body portions together. The first and second fastener parts may be apertures through which a fastener may be passed. The apparatus may include a plurality of first and second fastener parts. The first body portion may be formed from a first material. The second body portion may be formed from a second material different to the first material. The first body portion may be formed from plastic, e.g., a thermoplastic such as ABS. The second body portion may be formed from wood and / or a composite panel, e.g., plywood, medium density fibreboard (MDF) etc. The first and second body portions may define a continuous surface. The apparatus may include a plurality of second body portions. The seventh aspect may include one or more or all the features of the first and / or second and / or third and / or fourth and / or fifth and / or sixth aspects of the present disclosure. According to an eighth aspect of the present disclosure we provide a method of forming an artificial wall, including an apparatus according to the seventh aspect, including the steps of: providing an artificial climbing wall; attaching the first body portion to the artificial climbing wall; attaching the second body portion(s) to the first body portion; and fixing handgrips and I or macros onto the second body portion(s). The eighth aspect may include one or more or all the features of the first and / or second and / or third and / or fourth and / or fifth and / or sixth and / or seventh aspects of the present disclosure. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DISCLOSURE Referring to figures 1 to 3, there is shown an apparatus 10 for an artificial climbing wall in accordance with the present disclosure. The apparatus 10 does not have a flange for attaching the apparatus 10 to the artificial climbing wall. The apparatus 10 may be a macro for an artificial climbing wall. The apparatus 10 may be a handgrip without departing from the scope of the present disclosure. The apparatus 10 includes a body 12. The body 12 includes a periphery 14, or defines a periphery 14. The body 12, or the periphery 14, may be an elliptical shape in plan view with pointed ends 24, 26. A first portion of the periphery 14a may define a first side of the body 12 and may extend between the pointed ends 24, 26. A second portion of the periphery 14b may define a second side of the body 12 and may extend between the pointed ends 24, 26. In embodiments this may not be the case. For example, the body 12 may be irregularly shaped to resemble a rock formation or may be other regular shapes without departing from the scope of the present disclosure. The body 12 includes a first surface 16, or defines a first surface 16. The first surface 16 may be for fixing handgrips (not shown) thereto. The first surface 16 may be a generally outwardly facing surface. The body 12 includes a second surface 18 generally opposite the first surface 16 positioned at the periphery 14 which, in use, is positioned against the artificial climbing wall. The second surface 18 may be generally annular, i.e., extend only around the periphery 14. In embodiments, this may not be the case. For example, the second surface may be provided in discrete portions about the periphery 14. The first surface 16 directly connects to the second surface 18 at the periphery. The first surface 16 is inclined at an angle to the second surface 18 at the periphery 14. The first surface 16 may be inclined at an angle to the second surface 18 at the periphery 14 for preventing finger holding at the periphery 14. The second surface 18 may be generally planar. The second surface 18 may define a plane P which lies against the artificial climbing wall in use. The first surface 16 may extend away from the plane P as it extends away from the second surface 18. The first surface 16 may define a ridge 20 which may extend generally across the body 12. The ridge 20 may extend up to the periphery 14. The ridge 20 may extend between the pointed ends 24, 26. The ridge 20 may be positioned closer to the second side 14b than the first side 14a. The first surface 16 may be generally convex. The apparatus 10 may include a third surface 30 positioned generally opposite the first surface 16 and which may extend up to the second surface 18. The third surface 30 may be an internal surface of the apparatus 10. The third surface 30 may be inclined at an angle to the second surface 18. The third surface 30 may be substantially the same shape as the first surface 16. In other words, the body 12 may define a recess 32 which in use is positioned between the body 12 and the artificial climbing wall. In embodiments, the third surface 30 may lie in the plane P and / or may be substantially coplanar with the second surface 18. The body 12 may have a first thickness t1, defined between the first and third surfaces 16, 30. The above construction is advantageous as it prevents rock climbers from being able to grip the macro at the periphery 14 and so obtaining a grip where one should not be used on the climbing path. The apparatus 10, or the body 12, is formed at least partly from Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS). The body 12 may include a first layer (not shown) formed from ABS and a second layer (not shown) formed from acrylic. The acrylic may be poly(methyl methacrylate) or PMMA. The material may be known as ABS PMMA. A thickness of the second layer may be less than a thickness of the first layer. The second layer may form a first surface of the body for attaching handgrips thereto. The second layer may include a dye / pigment for colouring the first surface 16. The second layer may include the first surface 16. The first surface 16 may include one or more first surface portions (not shown) which may have a gloss, or gloss-like, finish. In other words, the first surface 16 may include one or more first surface portions which may have a relatively smooth finish. The first surface 16 may include one or more second surface portions (not shown) which may have a textured finish. In other words, the first surface 16 may include one or more second surface portions which may have a relatively rough finish compared to the first surface portions. The second surface portions may provide a surface which may be gripped by a user. Such a combination of surface portions may be advantageous in preventing a user from gripping portions of the apparatus 10 whilst permitting gripping of other portions. This may be advantageous in designing climbing routes using the apparatus 10 and preventing unwanted climbing routes being adopted by users. Such a construction is advantageous in improving the wear-time of the apparatus compared to the prior art. Such a construction also permits the colouring of the apparatus without the need to use paint and also permits the apparatus to be recycled once it has been worn beyond use. The apparatus 10 may include an attachment formation 40 for attaching the apparatus 10 to an artificial climbing wall. The apparatus 10 may include a plurality of attachment formations 40. The attachment formations 40 may be positioned near or close to the periphery 14. The attachment formations 40 may extend inwardly away from the periphery 14 and / or the second surface 18. The attachment formations 40 may be substantially the same and so only one will be described in detail below. In embodiments, the attachment formations 40 may differ. At least a portion of the attachment formation 40 may be integrally formed with the body 12. Said portion of the attachment formation 40 may be formed from the same material as the body 12. The attachment formation 40 may include a first end 42 and a second end 44. The first end 42 of the attachment formation 40 may be positioned on the first surface 16, or may lie on the first surface 16. In other words, the first end 42 of the attachment formation 40 may be positioned so as to be substantially continuous with the first surface 16. In embodiments, the first end 42 of the attachment formation may be recessed with respect to the first surface 16. This may be advantageous in removing any potential gripping surfaces for a user. The second end 44 of the attachment formation 40 may protrude from the third surface 30. The second end 44 of the attachment formation 40 may be substantially discontinuous with the third surface 30. In embodiments, the second end 44 may not protrude from the third surface 30 and may be continuous with the third surface 30. The attachment formation 40 may be generally synclastic, or dome shaped. An apex of the formation 40 may be positioned in the recess 32. The attachment formation 40 may have a second thickness t2. The second thickness t2 may be greater than the first thickness t1. The attachment formation 40 may define an aperture 46 for receipt of a fastener 60, e.g., a screw. The aperture 46 may extend from the first end 42 to the second end 44. The aperture 46 may extend through the first surface 16. The aperture 46 may be generally circular in cross-section. The cross-sectional area of the aperture 46 may increase as it extends towards the first end 42. The increase in area may be discrete or it may be continuous / linear. This may be advantageous in permitting the sinking of a head of a fastener into the first surface 16. In embodiments, the aperture 46 may be other shapes without departing from the scope of the present disclosure. The attachment formation 40 may include a reinforcement member 50 (shown in isolation in figures 4(a) to 4(e)) for reinforcing the attachment formation 40 and for receipt of a fastener 60. The aperture 46 of the attachment formation 40 may be defined by the reinforcement member 50. The reinforcement member 50 may be formed from a material stronger / harder than the body 12. For example, the reinforcement member 50 may be formed from a metal such as stainless steel, brass and other non-ferrous metals such as aluminium. Referring to figures 4(a) to 4(e), the reinforcement member 50 may include a reinforcement member body 52, a gripping portion 54 and a fastener receiving portion 56. The gripping portion 54 may be positioned on the reinforcement member body 52. In particular, the reinforcement member body 52 may include an outwardly facing surface 53 on which may be positioned the gripping portion 54. The fastener receiving portion 56 may include, or may be an aperture I channel, or may include the aperture 46. The aperture / channel may extend through the reinforcement member body 52. The reinforcement member body 52 may be generally cylindrical. The fastener receiving portion 56 may be generally cylindrical. The fastener receiving portion 56 may have a greater cross-sectional area than the reinforcement member body 52. The aperture 46 may pass through the reinforcement member body 52 and may pass through the fastener receiving portion 56. A first portion 46a of the aperture 46 in the reinforcement member body 52 may be generally cylindrical. A second portion 46b of the aperture 46 in the fastener receiving portion 56 may be generally frustoconical. The first and second portions 46a, 46b may be directly connected to each other. The aperture 46 may be other shapes without departing from the scope of the present disclosure. The reinforcement member 50 may include a plurality of gripping portions 54. The gripping portions 54 may be arranged circumferentially around the reinforcement member body 52. The gripping portions 54 may be arranged circumferentially on the outwardly facing surface 53 of the reinforcement member body 52. The gripping portions 54 may be arranged in circles around the reinforcement member body 52. The gripping portions 54 may be arranged in groups of eight in circles around the reinforcement member body 52. Three such circles may be provided spaced evenly along the reinforcement member body 52, as shown in figures 4(b) and 4(e). The gripping portions 54 may be substantially the same and so only one gripping portion 54 will be described. In embodiments, the gripping portions 54 may differ. The gripping portion 54 may be a protrusion which extends outwardly from the reinforcement member body 52. The gripping portion 54 may include a first surface 54a which may extend generally orthogonally away from the reinforcement member body 52. The gripping portion 54 may include a second surface 54b which may be inclined at an angle to the reinforcement member body 52 and the first surface 54a. The first and second surfaces 54a, 54b may meet at an edge and have a generally right-squared triangular cross-sectional shape. In other words, the gripping portion 54 may be shaped as a triangular prism. The gripping portion 54 may taper as the gripping portion extends away from the fastener receiving portion 56. The gripping portion 54 may be a barb or the like. In use, the reinforcement member 50 may be inserted into the attachment formation 40 whilst the attachment formation has not yet solidified (described in more detail below). This may be advantageous for embedding the reinforcement member 50 in the attachment formation 40 and ensuring a secure fitment thereto. The gripping portions 54 may be advantageous in inhibiting any removal of the reinforcement member 50 from the attachment formation 40 in use. A second embodiment of the present disclosure will now be described. Features shared in common with the first embodiment have been provided with the same reference numerals with the addition of 100. Only the differences between the first and second embodiments will be described. Referring to figures 5 and 6 there is provided an apparatus 110 for an artificial climbing wall. The apparatus 110 may be a macro ora handgrip. The apparatus 110 includes a body 112 which includes first and third surfaces 116, 130 as described in relation to the first embodiment. The apparatus 110 further includes a body strengthening member 170 which extends across at least a portion, or an entirety, of the third surface 130 for strengthening the body 112. The apparatus 110 may include first and second attachment formations 140a, 140b for attaching the apparatus 110 to an artificial climbing wall. The attachment formations 140 may be substantially the same as described in relation to the first embodiment. The body strengthening member 170 may extend away from the first attachment formation 140a. The body strengthening member 170 may intersect the first attachment formation 140a. In embodiments, the body strengthening member 170 may not intersect the first attachment formation 140a, or any attachment formation 140. The body strengthening member 170 may extend towards the second attachment formation 140b so as to intersect the second attachment formation 140b. The body strengthening member 170 may extend generally linearly. In embodiments, the body strengthening member 170 may extend curvilinearly or in other ways without departing from the scope of the present disclosure. The first attachment formation 140a may be positioned on the first side 114a of the body 112, e.g., a first side of the ridge 120. The second attachment formation 140b may be positioned on the second side 114b of the body 112, e.g., a second, opposite, side of the ridge 120. In embodiments, the body strengthening member 170 may extend across the ridge 120. In embodiments, the body strengthening member 170 may extend from a first attachment formation 140a to a further first attachment formation 140a, e.g., parallel to the ridge 120. In embodiments, the body strengthening member 170 may extend from a second attachment formation 140b to a further second attachment formation 140b, e.g., parallel to the ridge 120. As can be seen best in figure 6, the body strengthening member 170 may be integrally formed with the body 112. In particular, the body strengthening member 170 may be integrally formed with the third surface 130 of the apparatus 110. In embodiments, the body strengthening member 170 may be formed separately to the main body 112. The body strengthening member 170 may have a circular segment, or semi-circular, cross-section, as shown in figure 6. In embodiments, the body strengthening member 170 may have other cross-sectional shapes without departing from the scope of the present disclosure. For example, the body strengthening member 170 may have any cross-sectional shape that defines a 'box' or 'hollow' section for reinforcing the body 112. For example, the cross-section of the body strengthening member 170 may be generally I beam shaped or H beam shaped in cross-section. The body strengthening member 170 may be formed from curves, lines, squares, triangles and other shapes derived from combinations of these. A space 180 may be defined between the first and third surfaces 116, 130. In other words, the apparatus 110, or body 112, may be hollow. In embodiments, the apparatus 110, or body 112, may not have a space 180. Instead, material, such as ABS, may be provided between the first and third surfaces 116, 130. The apparatus 110 may include a plurality of first and second attachment formations 140a, 140b and a plurality of body strengthening members 170. A first body strengthening member 170a may intersect a second body strengthening member 170b. The plurality of body strengthening members 170 may intersect so as to form triangles across the third surface 130. For example, as shown in figure 5, the plurality of body strengthening members 170 may form a plurality of triangles in the general shape of a pentagon. In embodiments, other shapes may be formed with the body strengthening members 170 using triangles without departing from the scope of the present disclosure. In embodiments, one or more of the plurality of body strengthening members 170 may form curves, lines, squares, triangles and other shapes derived from combinations of these without departing from the scope of the present invention. A plurality of the body strengthening members 170 may intersect each other at a generally central position of the body 112. A plurality of the body strengthening members 170 may connect at an attachment formation 140 partway between the ends 124, 126. The apparatus 110 may include a secondary body strengthening member 190 which extends across the third surface 130. The secondary body strengthening member 190 may include one or more or all the features of the body strengthening member 170 as set forth above. The secondary body strengthening member 190 may extend in-between the attachment formations 140. The secondary body strengthening member 190 may not intersect an attachment formation 140. The secondary body strengthening member 190 may be smaller in cross-sectional area than the body strengthening member 170. In embodiments, the secondary body strengthening member 190 may be larger than, or the same size as, the body strengthening member 170 in cross-sectional area. A first plurality of secondary body strengthening members 190a may extend in a first direction across the third surface 130. The first plurality of secondary body strengthening members 190a may extend from the first side 124a to the second side 124b. The first plurality of secondary body strengthening members 190a may extend across the ridge 120. A second plurality of secondary body strengthening members 190b may extend in a second direction across the third surface 130 generally orthogonal to the first plurality of secondary body strengthening members 190a. The second plurality of secondary body strengthening members 190b may extend in a direction generally parallel to the ridge 120. In embodiments, this may not be the case. For example, the second plurality of secondary body strengthening members 190b may extend at an angle to the ridge 120. Intersections of the secondary body strengthening members 190 may be spaced from intersections of the body strengthening members 170. In embodiments, intersections of the secondary body strengthening members 190 may be coincident with intersections of the body strengthening members 170. A third embodiment of the present disclosure will now be described. Features shared in common with the second embodiment have been provided with the same reference numerals with the addition of 100. Only the differences between the second and third embodiments will be described. Referring to figures 7 there is provided an apparatus 210 for an artificial climbing wall. The body strengthening member 270 may extend from in-between the first and second attachment formations 240 across the third surface 230. The apparatus 210 may include a first plurality of body strengthening members 270a which extend across the third surface 230 generally parallel to each other. The first plurality of body strengthening members 270a may extend from the first end 224 to the second end 226 across the third surface 230. The first plurality of body strengthening members 270a may extend in a first direction across the third surface 230. The apparatus 210 may include a second plurality of body strengthening members 270b which extend across the third surface 230 generally parallel to each other. One or more or all the second plurality of strengthening members 270b may extend from the periphery 14, in particular the first side 214a, partway across the third surface 230, e.g., up to the ridge 220. One or more or all the second plurality of strengthening members 270b may extend across an entirety of the third surface 230. The second plurality of body strengthening members 270b may extend in a second direction across the third surface 230 different to the first direction so as to intersect the first plurality of body strengthening members. The apparatus 210 may include a third plurality of body strengthening members 270c which extend across the third surface 230 generally parallel to each other. One or more or all the third plurality of strengthening members 270c may extend from the periphery 14, in particular the second side 214b, partway across the third surface 230, e.g., up to the ridge 220. One or more or all the third plurality of strengthening members 270c may extend across an entirety of the third surface 230. The third plurality of body strengthening members 270c may extend in a third direction across the third surface 230 different to the first and second directions so as to intersect the first and second pluralities of body strengthening members 270a, b to form triangles for reinforcing the body 212. Such body strengthening members may be advantageous. Providing body strengthening members as described above on the body assist in resisting torsional, bending, and buckling stresses applied to the apparatus in use. The body strengthening members and secondary body strengthening members uniformly distribute forces across the apparatus. These body strengthening members may be load bearing, efficiently transferring applied forces to the attachment formations. The body strengthening members transfer the largest loads, providing foundational support, while the secondary body strengthening members reinforce the apparatus’s structural integrity. The layout of the body strengthening members and secondary body strengthening members have been found, advantageously, to manage and distribute stress concentrations, preventing localized functional failure points (e.g., bending, buckling and large deformations). This ensures the apparatus can withstand the dynamic, multi-directional and unpredictable forces exerted by a user on the apparatus. Referring to figures 8 to 10, there is also provided a method of manufacturing an apparatus for an artificial climbing wall. The apparatus may be a macro for an artificial climbing wall as described above. The method includes the steps of: providing a sheet of thermoplastic; heating the sheet of thermoplastic; providing a negative apparatus mould; applying a vacuum through the mould to draw the sheet into the mould; allowing the sheet to cool; removing the sheet from the mould; and cutting the apparatus from the sheet. As shown in figure 8, the method may include the step of providing an apparatus mould 300. The mould 300 is a negative mould through which a vacuum may be drawn to draw the sheet of thermoplastic into the mould. The mould may include recesses 310 for forming the apparatus 10, 110, 210. The mould 300 may include formations 340 for forming the attachment formations 40, 140, 240 for attaching the apparatus 10, 110, 210 to an artificial climbing wall. The formations 340 may be substantially synclastic, or dome-shaped. The sheet of thermoplastic may be Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS). The thermoplastic may be acrylic capped ABS. The thermoplastic may be ABS capped with poly(methyl methacrylate), e.g., ABS PMMA. Going through the steps of the process in turn, figure 9(a) discloses a first step of the process. In the first step a sheet of thermoplastic material 350 which may form the body, or at least a portion of the body, of one or more apparatus 10 may be provided. The sheet of thermoplastic material may be heated. This may soften the sheet 350 ready for it to be moulded. The method may include the step of heating the sheet of thermoplastic to a temperature between 120 °C and 370 °C. The next step, shown in figure 9(b) is for a vacuum to be drawn through the mould to draw the sheet 350 into the recesses 310. The formations 340 for forming the attachment formations may also press into the sheet 350. The formations 340 may encourage material of the sheet 350 to gather around the formations 340 to increase the thickness of the attachment formations once formed. The formations 340 may achieve this through their shape, e.g., being synclastic or domeshaped. The next step, shown in figure 9(c) shows the completion of the application of the vacuum to the sheet 350. The sheet 350 has been drawn fully into the recesses 310 such that the body of the respective apparatus has been formed. The method may include the step of using a plug (not shown) to assist in encouraging the sheet 350 to move fully into the recesses 310. This step may occur before or during the steps shown in figures 9(b) and / or 9(c). In other words, the method may include the use of plug assist in forming the sheet 350 into the mould. The method may include the step of applying pressure from an opposite side of the mould to which the vacuum is drawn from to assist in encouraging the sheet 350 to move fully into the recesses 310. This step may occur before or during the steps shown in figures 9(b) and / or 9(c) and I or the plug assist step. In other words, the method may include the use of blow moulding in forming the sheet 350 into the mould. The next step, shown in figure 9(d) shows the releasing of the sheet 350 from the mould. Then, as shown in figure 9(e), the body, or each body, may be cut from the sheet 350. At this point, the body has solidified somewhat but not completely. The step shown in figure 10(a) is the insertion of the reinforcement member 50 into the attachment formation 40. In particular, the reinforcement member 50 is pressed into the body I apparatus / attachment formation once formed. The attachment formation 40 defines a space 360, as can be seen in the figure 10(a), into which the reinforcement member 50 is inserted. The gripping portions 42 of the reinforcement member 50 become embedded in the attachment formation as it is pressed in to inhibit removal of the reinforcement member 50. The shape of the gripping portions 42, in particular, inhibit removal of the reinforcement member 50. Advantageously, because the body, and the attachment formation, may not have completely solidified the reinforcement member may become more embedded than would otherwise be possible. Other advanced thermoforming methods may be utilised without departing from the scope of the present disclosure. For example, the method may include the step of using mechanical forming, drape forming, matched mould forming, twin sheet forming and billow forming without departing from the scope of the present disclosure. A fourth embodiment of the present disclosure will now be described. Features shared in common with the first embodiment have been provided with the same reference numerals with the addition of 400. Only the differences between the first and fourth embodiments will be described. Referring to figures 11 to 13, there is provided an apparatus 400 for an artificial climbing wall, including a first body portion 412 and a second body portion 413. The apparatus 400 may include a plurality of second body portions 413. In embodiments, the apparatus 400 may include a single second body portion 413. The second body portions 413 may be substantially the same. In embodiments, the second body portions 413 may differ. The second body portion(s) 413 may be for fixing macros and / or handgrips 1000 thereto (see figure 13). The apparatus 400 may be a combination of a volume (for providing large adjustments to the overall elevation of a portion of the artificial climbing wall) and a macro (for providing adjustments to formations of an artificial climbing wall and to create interest and increase difficulty of the wall). The first and second body portions 412, 413 are releasably connectable to each other. The first portion 412 includes attachment formations 440 for attaching the apparatus to the artificial climbing wall. The attachment formations 440 may be substantially the same as described in relation to the apparatus 10. In embodiments, the attachment formations 440 may differ. The attachment formations 440 may receive fasteners, e.g., screws, for fastening the apparatus to the artificial climbing wall. The first and second body portions 412, 413 may define a generally convex outer surface and may define a periphery 414 of the apparatus 400. The periphery 414 may be irregularly shaped in plan view and may include linear and curved portions. The first body portion 412 may define the or each curved portion. The second body portion 413, or second body portions 413, may define the or each linear portion. In embodiments, the periphery 414 may include only linear or only curved portions. The first portion 412 may define one or more second body portion apertures 422 (as shown in figure 12). An abutment portion 423 may be provided within the or each second body portion aperture 422. The abutment portion 423 may extend around the second body portion aperture 422 up to the periphery 414. In embodiments, the abutment portion 423 may extend around a periphery of the second body portion aperture 422. In embodiments, the abutment portion 423 may be provided as discrete formations about a periphery of the second body portion aperture 422. The abutment portion 423 may be recessed within the second body portion aperture 422, e.g., spaced from the outer surface 416 of the first body portion 412. The first body portion 412 may include a first fastener part 425a. The first fastener part 425a may be an aperture through which a fastener, e.g., a screw or bolt, may be passed in use. The first fastener part 425a may be provided on the abutment portion 423. The second body portion 413 may have a periphery including a generally linear portion 427 and a generally curved portion 429. The curved portion 429 may be larger than the linear portion 427. The generally linear portion 427 may abut the artificial climbing wall in use. The periphery of the second body portion 413 may have a complementary shape to the recess 422. The second body portion 413 may be generally planar. In embodiments, the second body portion 413 may not be planar. The second body portion 413 may include a second fastener part 425b. The second fastener part 425b may cooperate with the first fastener part 425a for fastening the first and second body portions 412, 413 together. The second fastener part 425b may be an aperture through which a fastener, e.g., a screw of bolt, may be passed in use. The second fastener part 425b may be substantially the same as the first fastener part 425a. The second fastener part 425b may be positioned at or near the periphery of the second body portion 413, in particular at or near the generally curved portion 429 of the periphery of the second body portion 413, so as to align with the abutment portion 423. The second body portion 413 may abut the abutment portion 423 in use for the first and second body portions 412, 413 to be fastened together. When the second body portion 413 abuts the abutment portion 423 the second fastener part 425b may be aligned with the first fastener part 425a so that a fastener may be passed through both the first and second fastener parts 425a, b. The apparatus 400 may include a plurality of first and second fastener parts 425a, 425b. In particular, the or each abutment portion 423 and / or the or each second body portion 413 may include a plurality of first and second fastener parts 425a, 425b. The plurality of first fastener parts 425a may be distributed relatively evenly along the abutment portion 423. The plurality of second fastener parts 425b may be distributed relatively evenly along the curved portion 429 of the periphery of the second body portion 413. The first and second body portions 412, 413 may define a continuous surface. The abutment portion 423 may be positioned such that when the second body portion 413 abuts the abutment portion 423 the second body portion 413 may form a continuous surface with the first body portion 412. The first body portion 412 may be formed from a first material. The first body portion 412 may be formed from plastic, e.g., a thermoplastic such as ABS or acrylic capped ABS or ABS PMMA. In embodiments other materials may be used. The second body portion 413 may be formed from a second material different to the first material. The second body portion 413 may be formed from wood and / or a composite panel, e.g., plywood, medium density fibreboard (MDF). In embodiments other materials, e.g., other composite materials, may be used. Such a construction may be advantageous. By attaching the macros and handgrips to only the second body portion 413 the first body portion 412 may be better maintained. This permits the first body portion 412 to have a longer usable life before needing to be replaced and so is more environmentally friendly. Further, the second body portions 413, once worn, may be easily replaced. The second body portions 413 once worn may also be easily recycled and so are also more environmentally friendly. Figures 14 and 15 disclose a fifth embodiment of the present disclosure. Features shared in common with the fourth embodiment have been provided with the same reference numerals with the addition of 100. Only the differences between the first and fourth embodiments will be described. The apparatus 500 may be substantially the same as the apparatus 400. A difference between the apparatus may be that the apparatus 500 includes only a single second body portion 513. Second fastener parts 525b may be provided along the linear portion 527 of the periphery. The first body portion 512 may have a generally partially arched outer surface. The second body portion 513 may have a generally planar outer surface. The second body portion 513 may be substantially semi-circular in plan view. The first body portion 512 may taper as it extends away from the second body portion 513. There is also provided a method of forming an artificial wall, including an apparatus as described above. The method includes the steps of: providing an artificial climbing wall; attaching the first body portion to the artificial climbing wall; attaching the second body portion(s) to the first body portion; and fixing handgrips and / or macros onto the second body portion(s). Referring to figure 12, the method may include the first step of providing an artificial climbing wall. In a following step, the first body portion 412, 512 may be attached to the artificial climbing wall. The step may include inserting fasteners into the attachment formations 440, 540 for fastening the first body portion 412, 512 to the artificial climbing wall. The fasteners may be screws. In a next step, the second body portion 413, 513, or each second body portion 413, may be attached to the first body portion 412, 512. The second body portion 413 may be aligned with the recess 422, 522. The first and second fastener parts 425a, 425b, 525a, 525b may be aligned. A fastener, e.g., a screw or bolt, may be passed through the fastener parts 425a, 425b, 525a, 525b once aligned. In a next step, handgrips and I or macros 1000 may be fixed onto the apparatus 400, 500. In particular, handgrips and I or macros 1000 may be fixed onto the or each second body portion 413, 513. In embodiments, the or each second body portion 413, 513 may be attached to the first body portion 412, 512 after the first body portion 412, 512 is attached to the artificial climbing wall. This may be advantageous in making it easier to install the apparatus 400, 500 on the artificial climbing wall. In embodiments, the or each second body portion 413, 513 may be attached to the first body portion 412, 512 prior to the first body portion 412, 512 being attached to the artificial climbing wall. In embodiments, the handgrips and I or macros 1000 may be fixed onto the apparatus 400, 500, or the or each second body portion 413, 513, prior to the second body portion 413, 513 being attached to the first body portion 412, 512. In embodiments, the handgrips and I or macros 1000 may be fixed onto the apparatus 400, 500, or the or each second body portion 413, 513, after the second body portion 413, 513 is attached to the first body portion 412, 512. When used in this specification and claims, the terms "comprises" and "comprising" and variations thereof mean that the specified features, steps or integers are included. The terms are not to be interpreted to exclude the presence of other features, steps or components. 5 The invention may also broadly consist in the parts, elements, steps, examples and / or features referred to or indicated in the specification individually or collectively in any and all combinations of two or more said parts, elements, steps, examples and / or features. Claims
1. An apparatus for an artificial climbing wall, including:a body including:a periphery;a first surface; anda second surface generally opposite the first surface positioned at the peripherywhich, in use, is positioned against the artificial climbing wall;wherein the first surface directly connects to the second surface at the periphery;wherein the first surface is inclined at an angle to the second surface at the periphery.
2. An apparatus according to claim 1 wherein the first surface is for fixing handgrips thereto; and / orwherein the first surface is inclined at an angle to the second surface for preventing finger holding at the periphery; and / orwherein the first surface is generally convex; and / orwherein the second surface is generally planar; and I orincluding a third surface positioned generally opposite the first surface and which extends up to the second surface;wherein the third surface is substantially the same shape as the first surface; and / orwherein the first surface includes one or more first surface portions which have a relatively smooth finish; and / orwherein the first surface includes one or more second surface portions which have a relatively rough finish.
3. An apparatus according to claim 1 or claim 2 including an attachment formation forattaching the apparatus to an artificial climbing wall; optionallywherein the body has a first thickness, defined between the first and third surfaces, and the attachment formation has a second thickness;wherein the second thickness is greater than the first thickness.
4. An apparatus according to claim 3 including one or more or all the following features:a) wherein a first end of the attachment formation is positioned on the first surface; and wherein a second end of the attachment formation protrudes from the third surface;b) wherein the attachment formation defines an aperture for receipt of a fastener.c) wherein at least a portion of the attachment formation is integrally formed with the body.
5. An apparatus according to claim 3 or claim 4 wherein the attachment formation includes a reinforcement member for reinforcing the attachment formation and for receipt of a fastener;optionallywherein the reinforcement member is formed from a material stronger I harder than the body, e.g., metal.
6. An apparatus according to claim 5 wherein the reinforcement member includes a reinforcement member body on which is positioned a gripping portion and a fastener receiving portion, and optionally includes one or more or all the following features:a) wherein the fastener receiving portion is an aperture I channel which extends through the reinforcement member body;b) wherein the reinforcement member body includes an outwardly facing surface on which is positioned the gripping portion.
7. An apparatus according to claim 6 wherein the gripping portion is a protrusion which extends outwardly from the reinforcement member body; optionallywherein the gripping portion is a barb, or is shaped as a triangular prism.
8. An apparatus according to claim 6 or claim 7 including a plurality of gripping portions positioned circumferentially around the reinforcement member body.
9. An apparatus according to any one of claims 3 to 8 including a plurality of attachment formations, optionally wherein the plurality of attachment formations are positioned close to the periphery.
10. An apparatus for an artificial climbing wall without a flange for attaching the apparatus to the wall; optionally including one or more or all the features of claims 1 to 9.
11. An apparatus according to any preceding claim, wherein the apparatus is a macro for an artificial climbing wall.
12. A method of manufacturing an apparatus for an artificial climbing wall, including the steps of:providing a sheet of thermoplastic, e.g., Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS);heating the sheet of thermoplastic;providing a negative apparatus mould;applying a vacuum through the mould to draw the sheet into the mould;allowing the sheet to cool;removing the sheet from the mould; andcutting the apparatus from the sheet.
13. A method according to claim 12 including one or more or all the following features / steps:a) providing an apparatus mould including formations for forming attachment formations forattaching the apparatus to an artificial climbing wall;b) wherein the thermoplastic is acrylic capped ABS; optionally the thermoplastic is ABS capped with poly(methyl methacrylate), e.g., ABS PMMA;c) pressing a reinforcement member into the apparatus once formed, or an attachment formation once formed;d) heating the sheet of thermoplastic to a temperature between 120 °C and 370 °C;e) wherein the apparatus is as set forth in any preceding claim;f) wherein the apparatus is a macro for an artificial climbing wall.
14. A reinforcement member for use in an apparatus for an artificial climbing wall, wherein the reinforcement member includes one or more or all the features as set forth in claims 5 to 8.
15. An apparatus for an artificial climbing wall including a body formed at least partly from Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS).
16. An apparatus according to claim 15 including one or more or all the following features:a) the apparatus is a macro;b) the body includes a first layer formed from ABS and a second layer formed from acrylic, e.g., poly(methyl methacrylate); optionallywherein a thickness of the second layer is less than a thickness of the first layer; and / orwherein the second layer forms a first surface of the body for attaching handgrips thereto and includes a dye / pigment for colouring the first surface.
17. An apparatus, e.g., a handgrip or macro, for an artificial climbing wall, including: a body including:a first, generally outwardly facing, surface; anda third surface generally opposite the first surface;further including a body strengthening member which extends across at least a portion, or an entirety, of the third surface for reinforcing the body.
18. An apparatus according to claim 17 including first and second attachment formations for attaching the apparatus to an artificial climbing wall; optionallywherein the body strengthening member extends away from the first attachment formation, optionally towards the second attachment formation so as to intersect the second attachment formation, optionally generally linearly; orwherein the body strengthening member extends from in-between the first and second attachment formations across the third surface, optionally generally linearly.
19. An apparatus according to claim 18 wherein the body includes first and second sides; and wherein the first attachment formation is positioned on the first side; andwherein the second attachment formation is positioned on the second side.
20. An apparatus according to claim 18 including a plurality of first and second attachment formations and a plurality of body strengthening members; optionallywherein a first body strengthening member intersects a second body strengthening member; optionallywherein the plurality of body strengthening members intersect so as to form triangles across the third surface.
21. An apparatus according to any claim 20 including first and / or second and I or third pluralities of body strengthening members which extend across the third surface generally parallel to each other;wherein the first plurality of body strengthening members extend in a first direction across the third surface; andthe second plurality of body strengthening members extend in a second direction across the third surface different to the first direction so as to intersect the first plurality of body strengthening members; andwherein the third plurality of body strengthening members extend in a third direction across the third surface different to the first and second directions so as to intersect the first and second pluralities of body strengthening members to form triangles for reinforcing the body.
22. An apparatus according to any of claims 17 to 21 including a secondary body strengthening member which extends across the third surface; optionally including one or more or all the following features:a) one or more or all the features of the body strengthening member as set forth in claims 14 to 20;b) wherein the secondary body strengthening member is smaller in cross-sectional area than the body strengthening member;c) wherein a first plurality of secondary body strengthening members extend in a first direction across the third surface; anda second plurality of secondary body strengthening members extend in a second direction across the third surface generally orthogonal to the first plurality of secondary body strengthening members.
23. An apparatus for an artificial climbing wall, including:a first body portion; anda second body portion;wherein the first and second body portions are releasably connectable to each other; and the first portion includes attachment formations for attaching the apparatus to the artificial climbing wall.
24. An apparatus according to claim 23 including one or more or all the following features:a) wherein the second body portion is for fixing handgrips thereto;b) the first body portion includes a first fastener part and the second body portion includes a second fastener part which cooperates with the first fastener part for fastening the first and second body portions together; optionallywherein the first and second fastener parts are apertures through which a fastener may be passed; optionallyincluding a plurality of first and second fastener parts.c) wherein the first body portion is formed from a first material and the second body portion is formed from a second material different to the first material;d) wherein the first body portion is formed from plastic, e.g., a thermoplastic such as ABS;andwherein the second body portion is formed from wood and / or a composite panel, e.g., plywood, medium density fibreboard (MDF);e) wherein the first and second body portions define a continuous surface;f) including a plurality of second body portions.5 25.
