Window handle sensor

Abstract

A handle (100) for attachment to a locking mechanism of a window (300) or a door, and movable between first and second positions to engage and disengage the locking mechanism. The handle (100) comprises a handle body (102) configured, when attached to the locking mechanism, to be rotatable about a first axis (104) to move between the first and second positions, and to be rotatable about a second axis (108) perpendicular to the first axis (104), a sensor (106) coupled to the handle body (102) and configured to collect first sensor data and second sensor data indicative of rotation of the handle body (102) about the first axis (104) and the second axis (108) respectively, and a controller (122) configured to determine a state of the handle (100) based on the first sensor data and the second sensor data, for determining a window or door status when the handle (100) is attached to the locking mechanism.
