Description of the utility model patent for a printed media display device

Abstract

The present invention relates to a structural solution whereby printed media is inserted and replaced in a tiltable translucent compartment (3), through upper (13) and lower (12) slots between the front and rear walls (10 and 11). The rotation of the compartment is provided by a recess (6) and a threaded device (4) which is operated by a screwdriver (8) or an Allen key (9), with travel limitation determined by a containment wall (7) and the action of fins (5) that hold it captive.

Description

Introduction

[001] This report describes constructive improvements introduced in printed media displays installed in public transport vehicles, designed to facilitate the insertion and replacement of media in a translucent tilting compartment by means of a snap-fit and a threaded device operated by a screwdriver or Allen key.

[002] The main body of the display consists of a support structure in which an anatomical grab handle for the passenger is integrated into the media display panel, which is a compartment moulded in transparent, rigid polymer that holds the printed media between the front and rear walls from a slot provided at the bottom.

[003] The main body of the display is attached to the handrail found in public transport vehicles by means of a strap or similar device.

[004] The replacement of the printed media is achieved by inserting new media through the lower tear, so that the previous media is pushed out through the tear provided at the top of the compartment structure. State of the art

[005] In searches carried out on the state of the art, it was possible to find documents involving various operational concepts, of which those whose operation follows dissimilar concepts were discarded, and the following were selected.

[006] US1812972, filed on 29 / 05 / 1930 (BELT HANDLE FOR ROAD VEHICLES), describes the display of printed media in the form of a card or similar item present in the frame configured by the flaps (14 and 15) provided on the wall (16) on which the handle (3) itself is also moulded.

[007] US2277088A, filed on 07 / 08 / 1939 (ADVERTISING STRAP), deals with a stationary frame in the form of a hanger and strap, which comprises an illuminated advertising sign, as well as electric lamps, an electrical circuit including a power source, and a stationary contact switch.

[008] DE9104744U1, dated August 14, 1991, describes a handle body (11) associated with a receiving means (12) for at least one information carrier (17), wherein the receiving means (12) are integrally connected to the handle body (11), as well as the information carrier (17) in the receiving means (12) arranged on both visible sides, further characterized in that the information carrier (17) is pushed into the cutout (26) from the outside through one side of the structure (13). The frame (13) is provided on at least two sides facing each other, which are three inner sides of the frame (13), and also has an outer side facing inward through the groove (16) that corresponds to the cross-sectional dimensions of the information carrier (17). The information carrier (17) comprises a carrier plate (28) that is associated with at least one information medium (27) of a size corresponding to the size of the carrier plate (28), such as a decal or an adhesive film. The subject matter claimed relates to a label with an information support plate (28), wherein the support plate (28) is provided on both sides with information, wherein the frame (13), at least one, preferably two, support surfaces (25, 29) are integrally connected to the frame (13), and the information medium (27) are approximately as large as the receiving surfaces (25, 29) and are glued to the support plate (28) or the receiving surfaces (25, 29).

[009] JP06127380A, filed on 10 / 05 / 1994, describes the fitting of two transparent pieces onto the extension of the strap or support ring for passengers on public transport vehicles, so that an advertising card can be inserted between each of the two fitted pieces and the strap. These fitting pieces form a body (b) made up of display sections (6, 7) made of transparent resin, which are actually front walls (8) that form two side wall portions (9). Collars (10, 13) are provided at the top and bottom, and openings (12) are provided at the sides of the wall (9). Cards (c) printed with the messages to be conveyed are inserted between the aforementioned pieces and the strap.

[0010] DE20309342U1, filed on 17 June 2003 (ADVERTISING DEVICE), describes a safety belt for local traffic vehicles, comprising two transparent plastic elements (2, 4) welded to each other and covering a printed advertising carrier (3).

[0016] US2009 / 0134613A1, filed on 19 / 12 / 2006 (SUSPENDED BELT), describes an insertion mechanism whereby the media is pushed onto a conveyor into a recess (10) provided in the protective covers (8a, 8b), i.e., a support strap (2) fastened by a loop (1) for a person, equipped with a compartment formed by at least two individual faces (3a, 3b) bounded in the upper (4a, 4b) and lower (5a, 5b) sectors.

[0017] CN2911865, dated 13 / 09 / 2007 (ADVERTISEMENT HANDLE FOR PUBLIC TRAFFIC TOOLS) describes a panel (6) whose upper part is connected by a strip (4) to a ring (3), and whose lower part has an opening for an anatomically shaped handle (7). The panel (6) also has a space between its rear and front parts for inserting an advertising card.

[0018] DE102007057590A1, filed on 28 / 11 / 2007 (TITLE BEARER WITH INFORMATION), describes a device (1) comprising a fastening means (3) in relation to the handrail (4), a spacer (5) and a handle (6), wherein the retention device (1) bears information (7) on at least one portion of the spacer (5). As can be inferred from the descriptive report, the spacer (5) is proposed in various structural forms, including pyramidal. The means of connection and fastening are obtained by gluing, screws or other conventional connection mechanisms, and may be detachable or permanent, or even fitted with a special tool or key that prevents unauthorised or accidental release. As for the spacer (5), there is a rear projection (29) on the side opposite to the projection (28) so that it can be inserted into the fixing means (3) and screwed, glued or otherwise fixed there, while the information holder (7) may have a recess in which a poster or leaflet is positioned, or contain printing on the surface, painted or stuck on. In addition, the information support (7) is equipped with light sources, such as LEDs, etc., which illuminate the information, or an electronic screen or monitor, and also a tracking system that can operate synchronously to provide messages from establishments near the location of the transport vehicle. As for the non-electronic solution, the support (7) is equipped with a recess (38) into which the information piece is inserted.

[0019] WO2008 / 089603, filed on 31 / 07 / 2008 (HANDLE WITH ROTATING ADVERTISEMENTS), describes a handle that contains rotating advertisements and consists of two facing sides forming a strap (1) in which there are transparent chambers (2), the assembly being hinged to the bar or handrail in public transport vehicles. The objective is to provide the user with the transmission of messages with the support itself.

[0020] BRMU88025551U2, filed on 13 / 11 / 2008 (INFORMATION HANDLE ATTACHED TO THE SAFETY HANDRAIL OF PASSENGER TRANSPORT VEHICLES), granted under the ownership of this Applicant, relates to a panel (1) message carrier moulded in translucent material, with a handle (4) designed to offer users greater comfort and safety when travelling standing up. The panel (1) and handle (4) are attached to the safety handrail by a device (3) equipped with a through hole (5) that receives the handrail, with a flexible strap (7) connecting the panel (1) and the device (3), which gives the assembly the necessary balance.

[0021] US2010115809A1, dated 13 / 11 / 2008 (ADVERTISEMENT HANDLE COUPLED WITH GRAB BAR OF PASSENGER TRANSPORTATION VEHICLES), describes an information handle coupled to the safety handrail of passenger transportation vehicles, comprising a message display panel moulded from translucent material.

[0022] BRMU89015061U2, filed on 12 / 06 / 2009 (ARRANGEMENT INTRODUCED IN SUSPENDED HANDLE FOR PASSENGER SUPPORT IN PUBLIC TRANSPORT VEHICLES), comprises a main body (2) obtained by injection moulding of transparent polycarbonate, containing in its upper portion a thin rectangular projection (3) connected to a clamp-type coupling device (4), fixed to the horizontal cylindrical bars (5) of public transport vehicles; the main body (2) has a thin rectangular shape, with approximately two-thirds of its upper portion featuring a flat, rectangular recessed area (6), and the remaining lower portion has a rectangular opening (7), the lower segment (8) of which has sinusoidal protrusions or undulations (9) on its upper face that are compatible with the fingers, which form an anatomical profile. The advertising insert (11) is inserted through an opening (12) provided on the side face.

The device can be easily installed and removed from a handrail and can help people grip better and more easily than on the handrail. It features a fixed part and a connecting strap made from a knitted ring. The device has five spaces for attaching advertising sheets and distributing leaflets. The sheets and leaflets can be removed from the section where they are inserted.

[0024] EP2763127, filed on 18 / 05 / 2012 (IMPROVEMENTS MADE TO THE STRUCTURAL DESIGN OF A MESSAGE-CONVEYING DEVICE, WITH THE PROVISION OF A THROUGH-COMPARTMENT FOR ONE MEDIUM TO BE REPLACED BY THE INSERTION OF ANOTHER, OR THE PROVISION OF A CUT-OUT), granted under the ownership of this Applicant, describes a device attached to the handrail of public transport vehicles, having an integrated support handle for passengers provided with a side passage compartment equipped with openings for access and removal of the media.

[0025] BR2020160231774, filed on 05 / 10 / 2016 (PRINTED MEDIA DISPLAY WITH TWO-SHEET WINDOW, TILTING OR REMOVABLE FOR INSERTION OR REPLACEMENT OF THE EXHIBITED MEDIA), granted under the ownership of this Applicant, describes a support structure (1) with an integrated support handle for the user, equipped with a compartment in which printed media is stored, whose walls are transparent, characterised by the fact that the front wall (15) containing channels (13) carved out at the top and bottom, in which the movable window (3) is installed and through which it moves sideways, reaching the curve (16) at the right end and up to the compartment (14) provided in the rear wall (8). A window (3) is provided which can be moved laterally by means of channels (7) and behind the fixed window (18) which corresponds to the portion greater than half of the front wall (15), which can be tilted by means of the upper hinge (4) and secured by means of the lower screw (5) and nut (6), or even removed and secured by means of the screws (5) and nuts (6) provided at the bottom and top.

[0026] US10043423B2, filed on 23 / 11 / 2016 (PRINTED MEDIA DISPLAY WITH DOUBLE SHEET OR TILTING WINDOWS TO INSERT OR REPLACE EXPOSED MEDIA), granted under the ownership of this Applicant, describes a constructive solution in which the front wall (15) of the media screen support structure (1) has a recess (2) that receives a tilting or removable window (3) by means of hinges (4), or screws (5) and nuts (6); or equipped with lateral mobility by means of guides (7 or 13); or a compartment through which the media moves behind the fixed window (18), corresponding to more than half of the front wall (15).

[0027] Given the documents inherent to the state of the art, it appears that, although they refer to operational concepts similar to those proposed in this report, they do not anticipate the subject matter of this report, which effectively contemplates a new form or arrangement, involving an inventive step that results in functional improvement in the use and manufacture of printed media displays contained in a transparent compartment, since the insertion and replacement of printed media is no longer done through side, bottom or top slits provided in the main body, by means of decal-shaped prints or adhesive films, or even by the use of plates attached to both sides of the display device, but through bottom and top slits provided in the translucent compartment.

The document describes a traditional support device (2) with a hanging strap, comprising a fastening ring (6) to attach to a support bar on public transport, a fastening ring (4) for a user of such public transport, an intermediate part (8) provided with a hole (9) and a rectangular plastic board (10), fixed to the support device (2) by means of a connection system (14), on which an advertising message (12) is printed or affixed, the improvements now proposed replace the mechanically fixed rectangular board, which can only be viewed from one side, with a transparent display that is visually accessible from both sides, the concept of which, thanks to access through the front window, allows the insertion and / or replacement of the media by simply inserting the new advertising piece, whereas, in the case of the document in question, replacing the message means replacing the board or panel itself.

These rings (1,2), consisting of aflat strip or band, form a typical handle used in public transport, while the advertising panel (3a, 3b), attached to the rings (1, 2) by means of a screw or nail (6), constitutes a connecting element between the two rings (1 and 2 in both documents), forming a typical hanging handle.

[0041] Thus, document DE20309342U1 describes the placement of advertisements between the elements that make up the seat belt itself, which is actually a typical hanging strap for public transport consisting of two transparent plastic elements welded together, between which an advertisement is positioned. Like several of those mentioned here, the document does not provide for the replacement and / or updating of media.

[0044] The improvements proposed in this report bring significant operational improvements, firstly because the transmission of the message itself does not require electrical, electronic or any other form of lighting, requiring only the transparency of the material from which the translucent tilting compartment of the printed media display is moulded, the construction of which is designed so that the printed media can be inserted or replaced through the lower and upper slots and by means of the rotation provided by the hexagonal fitting located on the side of the middle portion of the compartment. Brief description of the designs

[0045] The characterisation of the improvements is provided by means of drawings representing the proposed construction solution, such that both the main support structure and the access window, offered in at least four construction variations, can be understood with the necessary clarity.

Figure 3, in anterior view, describes the construction solution for the support structure (1), with emphasis on the positioning of the fitting (6) and threaded device (4) with limitation determined by the retaining wall (7) that projects from the main body (1). The fins (5) for securing the translucent tilting compartment (3) can also be seen. Figure 4, in front view and side section, shows the side walls (3' and 3") of the translucent tilting compartment (3), and the retaining wall (7) projecting from the main body (1) which limits the rotation of the compartment (3). PRINTED MEDIA DISPLAY DEVICE, comprising a support structure (1) with an anatomical section (2) for supporting passengers in public transport vehicles, equipped with a compartment 5 (3) in which printed media is stored, characterised by the fact that the translucent tiltingcompartment (3) is equipped with upper (13) and lower (12) slots between the front and rear walls (10 and 11) through which the printed media is inserted and replaced.
