Robot surface cleaning systems

Abstract

A robot surface cleaner comprises a roller (206, fig 16) for contacting a surface to be cleaned, a reservoir (204, fig 16) configured to receive liquid collected by the roller, and an air extraction valve 262. The reservoir has, when the robot surface cleaner is located on the surface in a cleaning configuration, a length L parallel to the surface and a height H perpendicular to the surface. The air extraction valve has an air inlet 268 disposed more than halfway along the length of the reservoir from a first lateral end FL to a second lateral end SL of the reservoir, and more than halfway along the height of the reservoir from a base B to an upper periphery UP of the reservoir. The air extraction valve is configurable to permit air to be extracted from the reservoir, via the air inlet. A system comprising a robot surface cleaner and a docking station is also defined.
