Abstract

A drive comprises salient-pole stator (1) and an armature (2) having equal number of uniformly distributed poles. Identical coils (3-1) and (3-2), connected in series or in parallel, are respectively arranged on poles 1-1 and 1-2 of stator (1) and form an alternating-current winding. Semiconductor component (4) is connected between one terminal of winding and AC power supply terminal (5-1), while another terminal of winding is connected to AC power supply terminal (5-2). The poles of stator and the armature are angularly displaced relative to each other so that, in initial position, the overlap area of their opposing pole surfaces is 0–20%.
