Abstract
This invention relates to the process of producing hydrogel film from carboxymethyl cellulose from OPEFB which includes the formula and method of hydrogel film process. Hydrogel film is synthesized using 4% CMC solution; CMC is dissolved in water then added 5% glycerol from the volume of 4% CMC solution; added 2.5% citric acid and 2.5% acetic acid from the volume of 4% CMC solution. The mixed solution is stirred at room temperature for 2 hours; then cast and heated at 60°C for 24 hours. The formed hydrogel film is used as an absorbent pad component to absorb drip loss of fresh meat; fresh fish / chicken fillets and maintain humidity in storage at cold temperatures.
