Abstract
This invention belongs to the field of marine engineering and construction materials, specifically concerning a modular artificial reef structure made of fly ash and bottom ash (FABA) concrete equipped with a mechanical interlock mechanism. This invention provides an artificial reef structure consisting of a number of open cubic modules made of FABA concrete arranged in a tiered manner and interconnected through an interlock mechanism to form a stable structural unit in the aquatic environment. Each module has a corner column that functions as a structural element as well as part of the interlock system, while the connection between modules is strengthened using mechanical locking elements to increase the integrity of the structure as a whole. The modules can be arranged in a tiered configuration so that the load distribution between modules becomes more even and the stability of the structure is increased.The interlocking mechanism allows hydrodynamic forces to be transmitted throughout the structure through mechanical connections between modules, thereby reducing horizontal displacement and vertical separation due to currents and waves. The combination of the modular structure, FABA concrete, the interlocking mechanism, and the tiered stacking configuration results in an artificial reef structure that is more stable, easier to assemble, easier to install, and more resistant to hydrodynamic conditions in the marine environment.
