Gatepost

Abstract

This item is typically made of fiber-reinforced plastic, and as shown in reference figures (1) and (2), it is installed with its lower part buried in the ground to become a gatepost. This item has wide front and back parts, and side parts that span between them. The upper edge of the front part and the upper edge of the back part are located higher than the top part, so that rainwater flows down from the top part through the side parts. This prevents the front and back parts from getting dirty without the need for a coping. Inside, a reinforcing plate is attached to the back part to create an area where a mailbox can be screwed in, and a reinforcing plate is attached to the side part to create an area where an intercom can be screwed in. An opening is formed in the lower part of the back part to allow wiring to pass through.
