Automated external defibrillator (AED) main unit

Abstract

This item is the main unit of an automated external defibrillator (AED), which performs defibrillation by delivering an electric shock to the heart to eliminate fibrillation, for example, when a patient's heart goes into fibrillation. By attaching electrodes (pads) connected to this item to the patient's chest, the patient's electrocardiogram is automatically analyzed, and defibrillation is performed as needed. The central panel may have a display unit as shown in Reference Figure 1, which shows the state of use, or it may not have a display unit as shown in Reference Figure 2, which also shows the state of use.
