Suitcases

Abstract

This suitcase has casters at each of the four corners of the bottom surface, a retractable handle at a position on the top surface near the back, and a handle on the top surface. The shell of this suitcase has an outline of approximately square shape when viewed from the front and back. The front and back surfaces of the shell have a total of four slits, two vertical and two horizontal. As a result, the front and back surfaces of the shell have a shape in which nine approximately square-shaped blocks are arranged, three vertically and three horizontally. By providing a total of four orthogonal slits on the front and back surfaces of the shell, the shell can be made thinner than before while maintaining sufficient strength, thereby reducing the weight of the entire suitcase. In addition, since the shell outline of this suitcase is approximately square when viewed from the front and back, it is possible to increase the content volume even if the sum of the width and height and the depth are the same as those of a suitcase whose shell outline is approximately rectangular, vertically or horizontally long, when viewed from the front and back.
