Calibration Slide

Abstract

This product is a calibration slide used for shading correction when using a microscope, slide scanner, or the like. Conventional calibration slides perform shading correction by capturing the fluorescence generated by exciting fluorescent acrylic. However, in this case, if the fluorescent acrylic fades and the brightness of the fluorescence decreases, shading correction cannot be performed correctly. In contrast, this product utilizes the fluorescence generated by exciting an inorganic semiconductor substrate, which causes very little fading and allows for appropriate shading correction. This product also has a patterned portion on the surface of the inorganic semiconductor substrate. The patterned portion is used to adjust the focus of the imaging unit of the microscope, slide scanner, or the like, thereby enabling high-precision images to be obtained.
