Abstract

This item is the interior design of a dining kitchen in a small home. By elevating the bottom of the wall-mounted storage unit on the right side of the front view, the visible floor area is increased, enhancing the sense of spaciousness. Furthermore, the lower part of the stovetop and sink (base frame) is narrower and deeper than the upper part of the unit consisting of the stove and sink, and is given height. For example, if the upper part of the unit were placed directly on the floor, it would appear heavy. However, by adding the base frame of this design, the upper unit appears light, as if floating in space. Furthermore, the increased visible floor area enhances the sense of spaciousness. Furthermore, a drop ceiling along one length of the room adds a sense of height to the dining kitchen space. In this way, the lower end of the wall-mounted storage unit is elevated above the floor, giving the lower part of the stovetop and sink a floating feel, and the drop ceiling creates a sense of depth. These three elements combine to create a synergistic effect, making the small dining kitchen appear more spacious and open.
