Abstract

This article is a handrail consisting of a pair of brackets and a handrail material whose ends are connected to each bracket. It is used, for example, by fixing the brackets to a support pole that is installed in a tensioned manner between the floor and ceiling. The brackets can be changed around a hinge between a closed position in which they are fixed to embrace the support pole, and an open position when attached to the support pole, as shown in the reference plan view. The handrail material has a gripping portion for holding onto it and connecting portions that are continuous with each end of the gripping portion and connect to the brackets. The connecting portions are L-shaped in plan view, and the gripping portions are positioned offset to the left from the front of the support pole. Furthermore, if the handrail is fixed upside down to the support pole, the gripping portions will be positioned offset to the right from the front of the support pole.
