Abstract

This article is a button used to fasten seams of clothing, etc. As shown in Reference Figures 1 and 2, a male screw portion is protruded from the center of a disk-shaped base, and a cylindrical leg portion with a female screw portion is screwed onto the male screw portion. A mushroom-shaped button portion made of silicone is fixed to the end face of the leg. The button portion is composed of a handle portion that is located on the extension of the male screw portion and the leg and is substantially non-elastically deformable, and a cap portion that extends in an arc diagonally from the handle portion, is formed to surround the handle, and is elastically deformable. As shown in Reference Figure 3(A), the button portion is attached to clothing 1 by passing the male screw portion through a through-hole formed in the clothing, and screwing the female screw portion of the leg portion into the male screw portion via a spring washer (Reference Figure 3(B)). As shown in Reference Figure 4(C), by placing the buttonhole against the screw portion and pushing in the garment 2, the buttonhole is deformed and the button portion passes through the buttonhole and faces the leg portion, so that the large diameter cap portion prevents the garment 2 from returning (Reference Figure 4(D)). When removing the garment 2 from the button portion, by pulling the garment 2 around the buttonhole in the direction away from the button portion, as shown in Reference Figure 5, the cap portion is deformed and the buttonhole is also deformed, allowing the garment 2 to be removed from the button portion.
