Abstract
The product of the proposed design is used when temporarily installing safety handrails around slabs or openings in buildings under construction. As shown in the reference diagram for use, the product is fitted onto the lower end of a safety handrail support post, and the tapered portion of the lower half of the product is expanded in diameter to fit the safety handrail support post by utilizing the expansion of slits from the lower end provided at four locations circumferentially on the peripheral wall, and the support step formed between the slits on the inside of the lower end of the product is abutted against the lower end of the safety handrail support post. Meanwhile, a support pipe (steel pipe) with an inner diameter large enough to press-fit the lower half of the product fitted onto the lower end of the safety handrail support post is fixed vertically to the steel beam or other structure on which the safety handrail is to be temporarily installed. The lower half of the product fitted onto the lower end of the safety handrail support post is then pressed into this support pipe to install the safety handrail. [0003] As a result, the gap between the safety handrail support post and the upper end of the support pipe is blocked by the product, preventing the safety handrail support post from swinging relative to the support pipe and preventing concrete from flowing into the support pipe through the gap between the safety handrail support post and the upper end of the support pipe. Furthermore, a drain hole is provided at the lower end of the support pipe to allow rainwater that has seeped inside to drain out, but since the lower end of the product abuts against the surface of a steel beam or the like and the lower end of the safety handrail support post is supported in a state where it is elevated above the lower end of the safety handrail support post by the support post support step of the product, even if some concrete seeps inside the support pipe through the drain hole, the risk of the concrete hardening in contact with the safety handrail support post is avoided, and the risk of it making it difficult to dismantle and remove the safety handrail is also avoided. Furthermore, when dismantling and removing the safety handrail, the safety handrail support posts are removed from the product, and then the product protruding upward from the poured concrete is removed. At this time, an appropriate rod-shaped tool can be inserted into two tool insertion holes located diametrically at the top end of the product, and this tool can be used to easily remove the product.
