Cam unit

Abstract

This article is a cam unit used, for example, to drill holes in automobile body frames. This article is a press die consisting of a movable die (upper) and a fixed die (lower). It comprises a mounting base fixed to the movable die, a cam slider supported by the mounting base and biased in the return direction by an elastic member to reciprocate in a predetermined direction with a predetermined stroke, and a cam driver fixed to the fixed die that moves the cam slider in the operating direction on its contact surface. A hole-punching tool (retainer) is attached to the tip of the cam slider, and the movable die is moved back and forth in the vertical direction, causing the cam slider's punch to drill a hole in the body frame.
