Abstract

This item is a Buddhist garment to be worn by a deceased person. This garment is detachable into a lower and upper section by dividing it lengthwise at approximately the center of the width of the back panel. When separated, the lower section is worn on the right half of the wearer's body, and the upper section is worn on the left half of the wearer's body. A pair of hook-and-loop fasteners are sewn onto the back side of a rectangular protrusion sewn onto the back of the collar of the lower section, and onto the front side of the collar of the upper section. The upper and lower sections are worn on the left and right halves of the wearer's body, respectively. The back panels of the upper and lower sections are inserted from both sides of the wearer's body towards the back, and the double-sided fasteners are joined together, so that the collars of the upper and lower sections are continuous, and in a plan view, it can be seen that a single, integrated garment is being worn by the wearer.
