[0001] The present invention relates to a rear-view mirror mounting device that can be worn around the arm near the wrist from the hand of the body, and can be easily and stably used to check the rear without looking back when necessary while doing manual work or exercise such as jogging, walking, and cycling.
Background Art
[0002] In the market, small mirrors that are easy to use for women to put in a bag and use for makeup or facial care are known, and some are commercially available. These are only for looking at one's own face by holding them on the palm side of one's own hand, and are not for checking the rear while continuing operations or exercises such as holding the handlebars of a bicycle. In addition, there are bicycles with a rear-view mirror attached to the handlebar. Nowadays, bicycles and the like are preferably lightweight and easy to handle, and bicycles with a rear-view mirror have a problem that it is difficult to see the point to be looked at in relation to the direction of the handlebar and handlebar operation.

[Figure 16] This figure shows an enlarged view of the 16-16 cross-section in Figure 15. [Modes for carrying out the invention]
[0025] The embodiments of the present invention will be described below based on examples. Figures 1 to 3 show one embodiment of a rearward-viewing mirror mounting device. Figure 1 shows the back of the right hand (1), and Figure 2 shows the palm of the hand. The fingers consist of five fingers, from the first finger (thumb) (2) to the fifth finger (little finger) (3). All fingers have a first, second, and third joint, which allows for grasping objects and fine movements of the fingertips. The rearward-viewing mirror attachment can be worn on either the left or right hand or arm.
[0026] In the following embodiment, for convenience, the description will mainly focus on the right hand and right arm of the body. Here, the attachment body for the rearward viewing mirror consists of a band 9. The band 9 is attached so as to wrap around the palm side 7 and back side 8 of the hand at the base of the first joint 5 of the second finger (index finger) 4 and the first joint 6 of the fifth finger 3. The band 9 consists of a hook-and-loop fastener strip that is wide enough to fit between the finger joints 10 at the base of the second finger 4 and the base of the first finger 2. The hook-and-loop fastener consists of two strips, one with a hook side and the other with a loop side, and is detachable so that it can be attached to and detached from each other.
[0027] The band 9 in this context consists of a nylon or similar material with a loop surface on one side and no adhesive surface on the other. It is worn by wrapping it around the palm side 7 and back of the hand side 8 with the loop surface facing inward (towards the skin of the hand). Therefore, the outer surface of the wrapped band does not have an adhesive surface.
[0028] The band body 9 is positioned at the base of the first joint 5 of the second finger 4, and a certain length of the tip end 11 of the wrap is extended toward the base of the first joint 6 of the fifth finger 3 on the back of the hand 8, the rear side of the wrap is guided to the base of the first joint 6 of the fifth finger 3 on the palm side 7, the outer side of the fifth finger 3 is wrapped around the back of the hand 9, and the rear end 12 of the wrap is guided beneath the tip end 11 of the wrap and wrapped over the tip end 11 of the wrap.
[0029] A hook-and-loop fastener 13 of a certain length, which has a hook surface on its outer side, is attached to the outer surface of the rear end 12 of the aforementioned winding by the adhesive surface on its inner side. Therefore, the loop surface on the inner side of the leading end 11 of the band body 9 can be firmly attached to the hook surface of the hook-and-loop fastener 13 which is adhered to the rear end 12 of the band body 9. In this way, the band body 9 is attached by the hook-and-loop fastener to the palm side 7 and the back of the hand side 8 at the base of the first joint 5 of the second finger 4 and the first joint 6 of the fifth finger 3.
[0030] The band 9 is prevented from moving toward the fingertips by the protruding portions on the inner and outer sides of the first joint 5 of the second finger 4 and the first joint 6 of the fifth finger 3. On the other hand, it is prevented from moving toward the wrist by the bottom of the interdigital portion 10 between the first finger 2 and the second finger 4, and is held stably in that position. Thus, the band 9 is constructed from an appropriate combination of hook-and-loop fastener strips consisting of a loop side and a hook side.
[0031] A hook-and-loop fastener 14 of a certain length, which has a hook surface on its outer surface, is attached to the outer surface of the leading end 11 of the band body 9 by the adhesive surface on its inner surface. Therefore, a rear-view mirror 16, which has a loop-side hook-and-loop fastener 15 attached to its back side, can be attached to the hook-and-loop fastener 14 portion of the band body 9. The rear-view mirror 16 can be attached at any position and in any orientation within the length range of the hook-and-loop fastener 14. This method of attaching a rear-view mirror to a band body via hook-and-loop fasteners has the advantage of allowing the attachment position and the orientation of the mirror to be freely selected.
[0032] This rear-view mirror mount, consisting of a hook-and-loop fastener band, has the advantage of accommodating a wide range of hand sizes by adjusting the length of the overlapping portion at the front and rear ends of the band. It is also convenient for adjusting the tightness of the band.
[0033] The band 9 can also be made in the opposite way to this embodiment, with the hook surface on the inner side of the wrap and all the fasteners replaced with the opposite ones. However, by making the soft loop side the inner side (the side facing the skin of the hand) as in this embodiment, a space is created between it and the skin of the hand, resulting in a comfortable fit that is gentle on the skin and prevents sweating.
[0034] Figures 4 to 6 show other embodiments of the rearward-viewing mirror mounting device. In the following description of the embodiments, parts that are the same as those in the previously shown embodiments or have the same function will be indicated by the same reference numerals with the subscripts a, b, c, and ', and their explanations will be omitted as much as possible. The explanation will mainly focus on the parts that are different.
[0035] Figure 4 shows the back of the right hand 1a (8a), and Figure 5 shows the palm side (7b) of the same hand. In this embodiment, the mounting body for the rearward-facing mirror consists of a band 9a. The band 9a is made of a rubber band covered with a stretchable fabric. It is made by weaving together numerous thin rubber cords in a flat, band-shaped covering portion, and is stretchable and contractible in the longitudinal direction. Hereinafter referred to as the covered rubber band.
[0036] The band 9a is attached in the same way as in the previous example, wrapping around the palm side 7a and the back side 8a of the hand at the base of the first joint 5a of the second finger 4a and the first joint 6a of the fifth finger 3a. The band 9a is a covered rubber band with a width that fits between the interdigital space 10a at the base of the second finger 4a and the base of the first finger 2a.
[0037] The band 9a, made of a covered rubber strip, is positioned at the base of the first joint 5a of the second finger 4a, as in the previous example. A certain length of the tip end 11a of the band is extended toward the base of the first joint 6a of the fifth finger 3a on the back of the hand 8a. The rear end of the band is guided to the base of the first joint 6a of the fifth finger 3a on the palm side 7a. The outer side of the fifth finger 3a is wrapped around the back of the hand 9a, and the rear end 12a of the band is guided beneath the tip end 11a of the band, so that it is wrapped and overlapped beneath the tip end 11a.
[0038] Here, the means for connecting the leading end 11a and the rear end 12a of the band consists of a set of snap-button fasteners. Specifically, three convex sides 17 of snap buttons are sewn outward at regular intervals onto the outer surface of the rear end 12a of the band 9a. On the other hand, one concave side 18 of a snap button is sewn inward onto the inner surface of the leading end 11a of the band, slightly away from the leading end. By fitting the concave side 18 of the snap button onto the convex side 17 of the snap button at the appropriate position among the three convex sides 17, the band 9a is connected so as to wrap around the palm side 7a and the back of the hand side 8a at the base of the first joint 5a of the second finger 4a and the first joint 6a of the fifth finger 3a, and is worn on the right hand 1a.
[0039] Here, the concave side 18 of the snap button is fitted onto the convex side 17 of the central snap button among the three. The concave side 18 of the snap button can be fitted onto any of the convex sides 17 of the three snap buttons, and can be selected according to the size of the hand or the tension of the band body 9a.
[0040] As in the previous example, a hook-and-loop fastener 14a of a certain length, which has a hook surface on its outer surface, is attached to the outer surface of the leading end 11a of the band body 9a by the adhesive surface on its inner surface. Therefore, it is possible to attach a hook-and-loop fastener 15a with a loop surface to the back side of a commercially available small mirror prepared separately to form a rear-viewing mirror 16a, and then attach it to the portion of the hook-and-loop fastener 14a.
[0041] The band, made of a coated rubber strip, has the advantage of being able to accommodate a wide range of hand sizes due to its elasticity. Furthermore, the combination with a snap button allows for adjustment of the tightening force. The band also offers excellent stability when worn.
[0042] The mounting body for the rearward-facing mirror can also be a band made of a covered rubber strip formed into a loop. Several sizes of these loop-shaped covered rubber bands can be provided to suit different hand sizes.
[0043] Figures 7 to 9 show other embodiments of the rearward-viewing mirror mounting device. Figure 7 shows the back of the right hand 1b 8b, and Figure 8 shows the palm side 7b of the same hand. In this embodiment, the mounting body for attaching the rear-viewing mirror consists of a band 9b. The wide band 9b has a first finger hole 20 through which the portion around the base of the first finger 2b passes inside, and the tip end 11b of the band extends from the base of the first finger 2b to the middle of the back of the hand 8b. As in the previous example, the rear side of the band is wrapped around the outer side of the lower part of the fifth finger 3b on the palm side 7b to the back of the hand 8b, and the rear end 12b of the band is guided to the underside of the tip end 11b of the band and wrapped in an overlapping manner.
[0044] The band 9b is a band with a hook surface on its outer surface and no adhesive surface on its inner surface. A hook-and-loop fastener 13b of a certain length, which has a loop surface on its inner surface, is attached to the inner surface of the leading end 11b of the band 9b by the adhesive surface on its outer surface. Thus, the leading end 11b of the band 9b can be firmly attached to the hook surface of the rear end 12b of the band by this hook-and-loop fastener 13b. In this way, the band 9b is detachably attached to the palm side 7b and the back of the hand side 8b around the base of the first finger 2b of the hand and is worn on the right hand 1b.
[0045] The relief hole 21 formed on the palm side 7b of the band body 9b is a hole that provides relief to the thicker part of the lower outer side of the palm that comes into contact with it. This has the effect of preventing slippage when firmly gripping objects such as handles. A rear-view mirror 16b, equipped with a hook-and-loop fastener 15b on its reverse side, can be attached to the portion of the band body 9b exposed on the back of the hand side 8b, including the tip end 11b of the band body 9b, at any position and in any orientation.
[0046] Figures 10 and 11 show other embodiments of the rearward-viewing mirror mounting device. Figure 10 shows the area from the back of the right hand 1c (8c) to the dorsal part of the arm below the wrist (27), and Figure 11 shows the area from the palm side (7c) to the ventral part of the arm below the wrist (26). Here, the mounting body for attaching the rearward-facing mirror consists of a band 9c. In this embodiment, the wide band 9c has an external joint hole 23 that exposes the outer end 22 of the wrist joint of the arm to its inner side and an internal joint hole 25 that exposes the inner end 24 of the wrist joint to its inner side, and is worn so as to wrap around the ventral side 26 and the dorsal side 27 of the arm around the wrist joint.
[0047] Band 9c is a band that, like band 9b in the embodiments shown in Figures 7 to 9 above, has a hook surface on the outer side of the winding, and the inner side of the winding does not have an adhesive surface. Furthermore, a hook-and-loop fastener 13c of a certain length, which has an adhesive surface on its outer surface and a loop surface on its inner surface, is attached to the inner surface of the leading end 11b of the roll, similar to the band body 9b in the above embodiment. Therefore, the leading end 11c of the band body 9c can be firmly attached to the hook surface of the trailing end 12c of the band by the hook-and-loop fastener 13c, and the band body 9c is connected by the fastening means of the hook-and-loop fastener and can be attached and detachably to the wrist joint of the arm.
[0048] A rear-view mirror 16c, which has a hook-and-loop fastener on its reverse side, can be attached to the hook surface portion exposed on the back side 27 of the band body 9c. Here, the user can attach a rear-view mirror 16c, which has a hook-and-loop fastener on its back side, to the hook-and-loop portion of the band body 9c that is exposed around the arm portion, at any position and in any orientation, thus forming a means for attaching the rear-view mirror 16c around the arm portion. That is, a mounting body consisting of a band body having a hook-and-loop fastener on the outer surface of the band body can have a rear-view mirror with a loop-and-loop surface corresponding to the band body attached at any position and in any orientation. The band body 9c is more firmly restrained from moving in the vertical and circumferential directions of the arm by the portions of the outer end 22 and inner end 24 of the wrist joint that protrude into the external joint hole 23 and the internal joint hole 25, thereby stably maintaining the position of the posterior viewing mirror 16c.
[0049] Additionally, the band can be worn on the lower part of the arm, near the wrist joint. Figures 12 to 13 show an embodiment of this device. In this embodiment of the rear-viewing mirror mount, the rear-viewing mirror 16d is mounted on the ventral side 26d of the arm near the wrist. The rear-viewing mirror 16d is attached to the band of the mount in a manner similar to a wristwatch. The rear-viewing mirror 16d is held within a holder 29 molded from hard rubber or the like. The holder 29 has band shafts 30 on both the left and right sides, and the band ends 31 and 31' of the two divided band bodies 9d and 9'd are each hooked onto the band shafts 30 and connected to the holder 29. In this way, the rearward-facing mirror 16d is held and mounted within the retainer 29 between the band body 9d and the band body 9'd.
[0050] The holder 29 has a pivot portion 32 that protrudes upward on its central surface and has a spherical head. On the other hand, a bearing portion 33 with a spherical inner surface is formed in the center of the back surface of the rearward viewing mirror 16d, sized to fit onto the head of the pivot portion 32. Approximately the lower one-third of the spherical bearing portion 33 is cut away, and the rearward viewing mirror 16d is held in the holder 29 by this bearing portion 33 being tightly fitted onto the pivot portion 32 from above. This allows the mirror surface inside the holder 29 to be tilted in any direction by manipulating the mirror surface of the rearward viewing mirror 16d with a finger or the like.
[0051] Here, regardless of which side the pivot portion 32 is formed on between the rearward observation mirror 16d and the holder 29 Good. In this way, by using a mounting means that pivotally connects the rear-viewing mirror to the mounting body, the mirror can be tilted to adjust the angle of the hand or arm as desired. In this manner, the rear-viewing mirror 16d is held and mounted within the retainer 29 between the band body 9d and the band body 9'd. In this embodiment, the band 9d is attached to the wrist by being detachably connected to the back of the arm 27d in a well-known watch band structure consisting of spoke holes on one side and a belt guard and spokes on the other side. In this way, the band 9d and the band 9'd together with the retainer 29 form a single, integrated mounting body. If desired, you can also attach the rear-view mirror 16d to the back of your arm 27d near your wrist and connect the band 9d to the front of your arm 26d. In addition to the embodiments shown herein, all known types of bands and band fastening methods used for leather, cloth, or metal bands in watches and the like can be employed. Alternatively, a detachable band can be formed by creating a loop from a rubber band without using any connecting means.
[0052] Figure 14 shows another embodiment of the rearward-viewing mirror mounting device. This embodiment is another embodiment with the same arm mounting position as in the embodiments shown in Figures 12 and 13 described above. Figure 14 shows the mounting state of the rearward viewing mirror 16e at the same cross-sectional position as in Figure 13. Here, the rearward viewing mirror 16e is mounted on the inner side of the arm 36 (the side of the first finger of the hand) rather than on the ventral side of the arm 26e. The rear-view mirror 16e is attached to the wearer's wrist using a band 9e with a loop-type hook-and-loop fastener on its inner surface and a band 9'e with a hook-type hook-and-loop fastener on its outer surface, resembling a wristwatch. Here, the rear-view mirror 16e is held within a holder 29e made of lightweight metal. The holder 29e has band shafts 30e on both the left and right sides, and the band ends 31e of band 9e and 31'e of band 9'e are hooked onto the band shafts 30e and connected to the holder 29e. The other end of band 9e is attached to the upper side of the other end of band 9'e on the back side 27e of the arm, and together with the holder 29e, they form a single wearer.
[0053] The holder 29e is molded so that its mounting surface on the arm substantially conforms to the shape of the inner part 36 of the arm. A skin-friendly cushioning material 37 is attached to the inside of the holder 29e. The band body 9e and band body 9'e and the holder 29e are stably held in this position when worn. A cylindrical inner sliding bearing portion 35 of a certain length in the width direction (longitudinal direction of the arm) is formed in the center of the upper surface of the holder 29e. The upper and lower parts of the cylindrical portion of the sliding bearing portion 35 are each cut off and opened up by about 1 / 3. On the other hand, a sliding shaft portion 34 is formed in the center of the back surface of the rearward viewing mirror 16e, protruding somewhat downward from the back surface and having a diameter and length that fits the cylindrical portion of the sliding bearing portion 35. The sliding shaft portion 34 fits tightly into the cut-out upper part of the sliding bearing portion 35, holding the sliding bearing portion 35, and the rearward viewing mirror 16e can tilt around the sliding bearing portion 35. In the diagram, the rear-view mirror 16e is mounted at an angle of approximately 5 degrees towards the ventral side 26e of the arm. The arm can rotate nearly 180 degrees in the direction of rotation. By adjusting the tilt of the mirror in the direction of rotation of the arm, the arm can be kept in the desired position.
[0054] Figures 15 and 16 show other embodiments of the rearward-viewing mirror mounting device. Figure 15 shows the back of the right hand 1f from the back of the hand 8f to the back of the arm 27f below the wrist. In this embodiment, the mounting body for the rearward viewing mirror is the glove cover 28 fitted onto the right hand 1f. The rearward viewing mirror is attached via a set of snap buttons. The cover body 28 has a retaining plate 29f of a certain width attached to it, which extends towards the palm and back of the hand, following the shape of the part of the inner side of the hand at the base of the first joint 5f of the second finger 4f. The retaining plate 29f is molded from a plastic or rubber material with appropriate flexibility. The convex side 17f of the snap button is formed to protrude from one point on the back of the hand side 8f of the retaining plate 29f, near the second finger 4f. Here, the retaining plate 29f serves to firmly hold the position and orientation of the convex side 17f of the snap button on the back of the hand on the cover body 28.
[0055] On the other hand, the rear view mirror 16f has a recessed side 18f of a snap button attached to its central location on the back side, which fits snugly onto the convex side 17f of the snap button. The rear view mirror 16f can be attached and detached via a single pair of snap buttons. Because the rear view mirror 16f is attached by a single pair of snap buttons, it can be freely rotated vertically, horizontally, and in other directions. Furthermore, since the tip of the convex side 17f of the snap button is formed in a larger sphere than the base side, the rearward viewing mirror 16f can be tilted around this sphere at the tip.
