Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The invention relates to a motor vehicle having a body part and an electromechanical wheel brake according to the preamble of claim 1 . [Background technology]
[0002] The hydraulic wheel brakes are connected to the body side via a rigid brake line and to the wheelhouse side via a flexible brake hose. The connection between these two parts is a hydraulic screw connection that, due to its robust nature, can be located in the wheelhouse or even on the underbody of the vehicle. There, it is exposed to adverse environmental conditions such as dirt, moisture, ice, and stone chips. During technical vehicle inspections, hairline cracks can be found on the surface of the brake hose. As a result, the brake hose must be replaced. That is assuming that appropriate regulations are in place for the electrical lines to the brake actuators of the new wheel brakes to replace the defective lines. Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0003] It is an object of the present invention to provide an electrical connection of an electromechanical wheel brake to an electronic open-loop and closed-loop control unit of a motor vehicle which is reliably protected against environmental and ambient influences. [Means for solving the problem]
[0004] According to the present invention, a motor vehicle is provided comprising a chassis and a body part separating a wheelhouse area from an interior body area, wheels having associated electromechanical wheel brakes arranged in a part of the wheelhouse area, the electromechanical wheel brakes being connectable to an electronic open-loop and closed-loop control unit of the motor vehicle via electrical lines, the electrical lines comprising a first line portion in the wheelhouse area and a second line portion in the interior body area, the first and second line portions being connected to each other via an electrical connecting device arranged in the interior body area.
[0005] The advantage of the present invention is the body mounted connection of the electric lines of the electromechanical wheel brake to the electronic open and closed loop control units of the motor vehicle, which is vented to the atmosphere and located in a protected area of the vehicle body, sealed from the wheel wells. This is because the electrical connections are not as robust as their hydraulic counterparts. Such connections usually have a cavity into which water or dirt cannot penetrate. Thus, the present invention protects the electrical connection device of the electric lines of the electromechanical wheel brake in the inner body area from environmental influences such as moisture, water, snow, mud and stone chips. This arrangement improves the functional reliability of the electric lines.
[0006] Preferably, the electrical connection is releasable. Particularly preferably, the releasable electrical connection is designed as a plug-in connection or a clamp connection. A releasable type of connection has the advantage that in the event of a fault, the wheelhouse line can be replaced and the body line can be retained.
[0007] According to a preferred embodiment, the first line portion is received in the body portion via a seal. Preferably, the seal is manufactured from an elastomeric material. Via the elastomeric seal, one end of the first line portion can be forced through an opening in the body portion and connected to the second line portion via an electrical connection device. The seal protects the electrical connection device from water and dirt present in the wheelhouse area. The elastomeric seal also facilitates the repair of faulty cables.
[0008] According to a further preferred embodiment, the first line section comprises a ventilation hose leading from the actuator of the electromechanical wheel brake to the connection device. Preferably, the ventilation hose is arranged inside a sheath of the first line section. Particularly preferably, the ventilation hose terminates in an opening provided in the electrical connection device.
[0009] Further preferred embodiments of the invention will become apparent from the following description of exemplary embodiments with reference to the drawings. [Brief description of the drawings]
[0010] [Figure 1] Detail of the car is shown. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0011] Figure 1 shows a part of a motor vehicle with a chassis 1 which is integrated into a body part 2 in the case of a self-supporting body or connected to said body part 2 in the case of a non-self-supporting body. The body part 2 separates a wheelhouse area 3 from a body interior area 4. A wheel 11 with an associated electromechanical wheel brake 5 is arranged in the area of the wheelhouse 3. The wheel 11 is connected to the chassis 1 via a steering knuckle 13 and a wheel suspension 12 and is located on the road 14. The body part 2 is part of the motor vehicle body and constitutes the wheelhouse with its specially formed walls.
[0012] The electromechanical wheel brakes 5 are connected to the vehicle's electronic open-loop and closed-loop control unit 10 via electrical lines 6 and 7 for actuating the wheel brakes 5. The electrical lines are divided into a first line portion 6 and a second line portion 7. The first line portion 6 is located in the wheelhouse area 3. The first line portion 6 is designed to be flexible to resist dynamic effects (bending, rotation, twisting) resulting from the movement of the wheels. The first line portion 6 leads from a connection point 15 on the wheel brakes 5 to an attachment point 16 on the body portion 2.
[0013] The attachment point 16 is provided with an electrical connection device 8, by means of which the first and second line portions 6 and 7 are connected to one another. As an example, the electrical connection device 8 is arranged in the body interior area 4, i.e. in an area of the vehicle interior protected from environmental influences. In addition, a seal 9 is provided at the attachment point 16, by means of which the end area of the first line portion 6 is received sealingly on the body portion 2. The second line portion 7 is arranged inside the body interior area 4. The second line portion 7 leads from the electrical connection device 8 to an electronic open-loop and closed-loop control unit 10. Thus, for its actuation, the electromechanical wheel brake 5 is connected to the electronic open-loop and closed-loop control unit 10 via the releasable and dirt-protected electrical connection device 8.
