Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to liquid antiperspirant compositions. [Background technology]
[0002] Conventionally, antiperspirant compositions containing antiperspirant components having antiperspirant effects such as aluminum chlorohydrate (ACH) have been widely used. For example, an antiperspirant composition containing aluminum chlorohydrate (ACH) and a vinyl-type anionic polymer has been proposed for the purpose of improving the antiperspirant effect and the durability of the antiperspirant effect (see Patent Document 1).
[0003] However, in conventional antiperspirant compositions including those in Patent Document 1, there was a concern that the white precipitation derived from aluminum chlorohydrate or a film-forming component contained in the antiperspirant composition would impair the skin appearance after application. In addition, in the armpits, there are many obstacles such as common hair follicles (so-called razor burn) that occur after shaving, uneven pores like skin rash, and hair that is starting to grow, and the friction between the skin and the skin is more severe than in other parts, so it is difficult to form a uniform film derived from the antiperspirant composition, and there was a concern that the antiperspirant effect is difficult to sustain. Furthermore, there was room for improvement in various performances required for antiperspirant compositions, such as the skin condition after application (lack of tightness of the skin) and the formulation stability in a high-temperature environment. Accordingly, a satisfactory liquid antiperspirant composition that exhibits long-lasting antiperspirant effect, does not produce white precipitation after application, does not cause skin tightness after application, and is excellent in high-temperature stability has not yet been provided, and there is currently a strong demand for such a composition to be provided promptly. [0009] (Liquid antiperspirant composition) The liquid antiperspirant composition of the present invention contains (A) at least one selected from aluminum halide hydrates or complexes thereof, and aluminum halides, (B) at least one selected from glycerins and tri- or higher hydric sugar alcohols, and (C) a copolymer or a salt thereof containing, as monomer units, at least one selected from monoalkyl maleates whose alkyl group has 1 to 4 carbon atoms, alkylacrylamides whose alkyl group has 1 to 8 carbon atoms, alkyl acrylates whose alkyl group has 4 or more carbon atoms, diacetone acrylamide, vinylpyrrolidone, and ethyl betaine methacrylate, and may contain other components as necessary. In this specification, "(A) at least one selected from aluminum halide hydrates or complexes thereof, and aluminum halides" may be referred to as "(A)" or "component (A)", "(B) at least one selected from glycerins and trivalent or higher sugar alcohols" may be referred to as "(B)" or "component (B)", and "(C) a copolymer or a salt thereof containing, as a monomer unit, at least one selected from monoalkyl maleates whose alkyl group has 1 to 4 carbon atoms, alkylacrylamides whose alkyl group has 1 to 8 carbon atoms, alkyl acrylates whose alkyl group has 4 or more carbon atoms, diacetone acrylamide, vinylpyrrolidone, and ethyl betaine methacrylate" may be referred to as "(C)" or "component (C)".
[0010] The combined use of the (A) component and the (B) component improves the durability of the antiperspirant effect and improves the appearance defect caused by white precipitation after application of the liquid antiperspirant composition. The combined use of the (C) component, which is a specific polymer, further improves the durability of the antiperspirant effect.
[0011] <(A) At least one selected from aluminum halide hydrate or a complex thereof, and aluminum halide> The component (A) is contained mainly to impart an antiperspirant effect.
[0012] The component (A) is not particularly limited, so long as it is at least one selected from aluminum halide, aluminum halide hydrate, and aluminum halide hydrate complex, and can be appropriately selected depending on the purpose. The aluminum halide may, for example, be aluminum chloride. Examples of the aluminum halide hydrate include aluminum chlorohydrate, aluminum bromohydrate, and aluminum chlorohydrate / zirconium. Examples of the aluminum halide hydrate complex include aluminum chlorohydrate / propylene glycol complex, aluminum chlorohydrate / zirconium glycine complex, and the like. Among these, aluminum chlorohydrate, aluminum chlorohydrate / propylene glycol complex, and aluminum chlorohydrate / zirconium glycine complex are preferred because of their excellent durability in terms of antiperspirant effect. These may be used alone or in combination of two or more.
[0013] The component (A) may be an appropriately synthesized product or a commercially available product. Examples of commercially available products of the component (A) include, by trade name, Aluminum (III) Chloride (manufactured by Tokyo Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., aluminum chloride), 50% aqueous solution of aluminum chlorohydrate (manufactured by Taki Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., aluminum chlorohydrate), REHYDROL II (manufactured by ELEMENTIS, aluminum chlorohydrate / propylene glycol complex), and Reach AZO-956G (manufactured by ELEMENTIS, aluminum chlorohydrate / zirconium glycine complex).
[0014] The content of the component (A) is not particularly limited and can be appropriately selected depending on the purpose. From the viewpoints of obtaining a good antiperspirant effect and of preventing a feeling of tightness on the skin after application of the liquid antiperspirant composition, the content is preferably from 6% by mass to 15% by mass, and more preferably from 7.5% by mass to 12.5% by mass, relative to the total amount of the liquid antiperspirant composition. It is preferable that the content of the component (A) is 6% by mass or more based on the total amount of the liquid antiperspirant composition, since this leads to good durability of the antiperspirant effect. When the content of the component (A) is 15% by mass or less relative to the total amount of the liquid antiperspirant composition, this is preferable because it results in a satisfactory lack of tightness on the skin after application of the liquid antiperspirant composition and a satisfactory lack of white precipitation after application of the liquid antiperspirant composition.
[0015] <(B) At least one selected from glycerins and trihydric or higher sugar alcohols> The component (B) is contained mainly for the purposes of imparting a sustained antiperspirant effect, an effect of inhibiting white precipitation after application of the liquid antiperspirant composition, no feeling of tightness on the skin after application of the liquid antiperspirant composition, and no dryness on the skin after application of the liquid antiperspirant composition.
[0016] The glycerin compounds are not particularly limited and can be appropriately selected depending on the purpose. Examples of the glycerin compounds include glycerin, diglycerin, and polyglycerin.
[0017] The sugar alcohol is not particularly limited as long as it is trivalent or higher and can be appropriately selected depending on the purpose. Examples of the sugar alcohol include sorbitol, erythritol, mannitol, lactitol, xylitol, and maltitol.

[0020] The content of the component (B) is not particularly limited and can be appropriately selected depending on the purpose, but from the viewpoints of achieving a good durability of the antiperspirant effect, an effect of suppressing white precipitation after application of the liquid antiperspirant composition, and no feeling of tightness on the skin after application of the liquid antiperspirant composition, the content is preferably from 2 to 10% by mass, and more preferably from 2.5 to 6.0% by mass, relative to the total amount of the liquid antiperspirant composition. It is preferable for the content of the component (B) to be 2 mass % or more relative to the total amount of the liquid antiperspirant composition, since this leads to a good durability of the antiperspirant effect, a good effect of suppressing white precipitation after application of the liquid antiperspirant composition, and a good lack of tightness on the skin after application of the liquid antiperspirant composition. If the content of the component (B) is 10% by mass or less based on the total amount of the liquid antiperspirant composition, the appearance of the preparation in a high-temperature environment will be good, that is, high-temperature stability will be good, which is preferable.

In the present invention, the mass ratio [(A) / (B)] is 1 or more and 7 or less. Moreover, the mass ratio [(A) / (B)] is preferably 2 or more and 5 or less, from the viewpoints of sustaining the antiperspirant effect, suppressing white precipitation after application of the liquid antiperspirant composition, preventing a feeling of tightness on the skin after application of the liquid antiperspirant composition, and achieving good high-temperature stability. When the mass ratio [(A) / (B)] is 1 or more, the appearance of the preparation in a high-temperature environment becomes good, that is, the high-temperature stability becomes good, which is preferable. It is preferable for the mass ratio [(A) / (B)] to be 7 or less since this leads to a good durability of the antiperspirant effect, a good effect of suppressing white precipitation after application of the liquid antiperspirant composition, and a good lack of tightness on the skin after application of the liquid antiperspirant composition.
[0036] <Mass ratio [(A) / (C)]> In this specification, the mass ratio [(A) / (C)] of the content of the component (A) to the content of the component (C) is sometimes referred to as the "mass ratio [(A) / (C)]".
