Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a vehicle lamp. [Background technology]
[0002] 2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, a combination of a light source such as a light emitting diode (LED) and a light guide such as an inner lens has been known as a vehicle lamp to be mounted on a vehicle (see, for example, Patent Document 1 below).
[0003] In such vehicle lamps, light emitted from a light source enters the light guide from the back side and exits from the front side of the light guide, causing the front side of the light guide to emit light as the light-emitting surface of the vehicle lamp.
[0004] In recent years, various types of vehicle lamps have been developed due to the diversification of designs. For example, there is a type in which multiple light sources are arranged in a ring shape, and a light guide arranged in front of the multiple light sources emits light in a ring shape. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]
[0005] [Patent Document 1] JP 2014-075331 A Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0006] However, when the above-mentioned multiple light sources are arranged in a ring shape, the parts corresponding to each light source will shine brighter than other parts, which is called point lighting, making it difficult to make the light-emitting surface of the light guide emit light uniformly in a ring shape.
[0007] Therefore, in conventional vehicle lighting fixtures, as in the invention described in Patent Document 1 above, a diffusion section is provided in the light guide, and the light emitted from the light guide is diffused by the diffusion section, causing the light guide to emit light uniformly in a ring shape.
[0008] On the other hand, in conventional vehicle lamps, the outer side is set back more than the inner side in the vehicle width direction in accordance with the slanted shape given to the corner portion at the front or rear end of the vehicle.
[0009] Accordingly, the light guide disposed inside the lamp is also shorter on the outer side in the longitudinal direction than on the inner side in the transverse direction of the vehicle. In this case, the difference in the length of the light guide causes a difference in the brightness of the light-emitting surface, making it difficult to make the light-emitting surface of the light guide emit light uniformly in a ring shape.
[0010] The present invention has been proposed in consideration of the above-mentioned conventional circumstances, and has an object to provide a vehicle lamp that enables the light-emitting surface of a light guide to emit light uniformly in a ring shape. [Means for solving the problem]

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0014] Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. In the drawings used in the following description, in order to make each component easier to see, the dimensions of the components may be shown at different scales, and the dimensional ratios of each component may not necessarily be the same as in reality.

FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view of the vehicle lamp 1 taken along line AA in FIG. 1. FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view of the vehicle lamp 1 taken along line BB in FIG. 1. FIG. 8 is a cross-sectional view of the incident portion 9 taken along line DD in FIG. 6. FIG. 9 is a cross-sectional view showing the optical path of light L emitted from the light source 2 of the vehicle lamp 1.
[0016] In addition, in the drawings shown below, an XYZ Cartesian coordinate system is set up, with the X-axis direction representing the front-to-rear direction (length direction) of the vehicle lighting fixture 1, the Y-axis direction representing the left-to-right direction (width direction) of the vehicle lighting fixture 1, and the Z-axis direction representing the up-down direction (height direction) of the vehicle lighting fixture 1.
[0017] The vehicle lamp 1 of this embodiment is, for example, as shown in FIG. 1, an application of the present invention to a tail lamp / stop lamp TLL / STL that emits red light in a circular ring shape, among rear combination lamps RCL mounted on both corners of the rear end of a vehicle (not shown) (in this embodiment, the corner on the right rear end).
[0018] Among the rear combination lamps RCL, a back lamp BCL that emits white light in a circular shape is arranged inside the tail lamp / stop lamp TLL / STL, and a turn wrap TRL that emits orange light in a substantially rectangular shape is arranged outside the tail lamp / stop lamp TLL / STL in the vehicle width direction.
[0019] As shown in Figures 1, 2 and 3, the vehicle lamp 1 of this embodiment has a structure in which multiple light sources 2, a first inner lens 3, and a second inner lens 4 are arranged inside a lamp body 5.
[0020] The light body 5 is composed of a housing 6 with an opening at the front, and a transparent outer lens 7 that covers the opening of the housing 6.
[0021] In addition, in the vehicle lamp 1 of this embodiment, the front side of the lamp body 5 (outer lens 7) is shaped so that the outer side is recessed further back than the inner side in the vehicle width direction in accordance with the slanted shape given to the corner portion at the rear end of the vehicle.
[0022] 2, 3 and 4, the multiple light sources 2 are, for example, LEDs that emit red light (hereinafter referred to as "light") L. The multiple light sources 2 are mounted (arranged) side by side in a circular ring shape on the front side of a substantially circular circuit board 8 on which a drive circuit (not shown) that drives the LEDs is provided.
[0023] As a result, the multiple light sources 2 radially emit light L toward the front first inner lens 3. That is, the multiple light sources 2 are provided on the same surface of the same circuit board 8, and emit light L in the same direction.
[0024] In this embodiment, the LEDs constituting the above-mentioned multiple light sources 2 and a drive circuit for driving the multiple LEDs are mounted on a circuit board 8, but the present invention is not necessarily limited to this configuration.
[0025] For example, a mounting board on which multiple LEDs are mounted and a circuit board on which a drive circuit for driving these multiple LEDs is provided may be arranged separately, and the mounting board and the circuit board may be electrically connected via a wiring cord called a harness to protect the drive circuit from heat generated by the multiple LEDs.
[0026] As shown in Figs. 2, 3 and 5, the first inner lens 3 is made of a transparent resin such as polycarbonate (PC) or acrylic (PMMA), and is formed into a substantially circular ring shape as a whole.
[0027] The first inner lens 3 serves as a first light guide and is disposed in front of the plurality of light sources 2 to guide the light L emitted from the plurality of light sources 2.
[0028] Specifically, this first inner lens 3 has a plurality of incident portions 9 located on the rear side, an exit portion 10 located on the opposite side (front side) from the multiple incident portions 9, and an optical path conversion portion 11 located between the multiple incident portions 9 and the exit portion 10.
[0029] The multiple entrance portions 9 are arranged in a circular ring shape on the back surface side of the first inner lens 3 so as to face the multiple light sources 2, respectively.
[0030] Each of the multiple incidence portions 9 has a lens shape that causes the light L emitted from the light source 2 to enter the inside of the first inner lens 3 while concentrating the light L toward the optical axis.
[0031] Specifically, each incident portion 9 has a first collecting light incident surface 9a located at the center of the portion facing the light source 2 and on which a portion of the light L emitted from the light source 2 is incident, a second collecting light incident surface 9b located on the inner side of the protrusion 3a that protrudes toward the light source 2 from a position surrounding the periphery of the first collecting light incident surface 9a and on which a portion of the light L emitted from the light source 2 is incident, and a collecting light reflecting surface 9c located on the outer side of the protrusion 3a and reflecting the light L incident from the second collecting light incident surface 9b.
[0032] Further, each incidence portion 9 has a notch 3b formed by cutting a part of the protrusion 3a located on the outer circumferential side of the first inner lens 3.
[0033] At each incidence portion 9, the light L radially emitted from the light source 2 and incident into the first inner lens 3 from the first light-collecting incidence surface 9a is collected toward the optical axis. On the other hand, the light L incident into the first inner lens 3 from the second light-collecting incidence surface 9b is reflected by the light-collecting reflection surface 9c, thereby being collected toward the optical axis.
[0034] As a result, each incident portion 9 collimates the light L radially emitted from the light source 2, and the light L is incident on the inside of the first inner lens 3. In addition, the light L incident on the inside of the first inner lens 3 from each incident portion 9 is guided toward the front of the first inner lens 3.
[0035] Also, as shown in Figure 5, among the multiple incident sections 9, incident section 9A, which corresponds to a position where the optical path length of light L traveling from the exit section 10 to the second inner lens 4 is relatively short, is provided with multiple diffusion cuts 12 that diffuse the light L in the direction in which the multiple incident sections 9 are arranged.
[0036] Specifically, in the vehicle lamp 1 of this embodiment, the front side of the lamp body 5 (outer lens 7) has a shape that is set back more on the outside than on the inside in the vehicle width direction in accordance with the slant shape given to the corner portion on the rear end side of the vehicle as described above. As a result, the optical path length of the light L traveling from the emission part 10 of the first inner lens 3 to the second inner lens 4 is relatively short on the outside and upper part of the first inner lens 3 in the vehicle width direction.
[0037] For this reason, in the vehicle lamp 1 of this embodiment, among the multiple incident portions 9, multiple diffusion cuts 12 are provided in multiple incident portions 9A that are located on the outer side and upper part of the first inner lens 3 in the vehicle width direction.
[0038] That is, in the vehicle lamp 1 of this embodiment, among the multiple incident portions 9 arranged in a circular ring shape, multiple diffusion cuts 12 are provided for multiple incident portions 9A that are in the angle range E shown in FIG.
[0039] In this embodiment, the multiple diffusion cuts 12 are composed of multiple flute cuts arranged in the circumferential direction of the first inner lens 3, with groove portions having an approximately arc-shaped cross section that cut out the first light-collecting entrance surface 9a in the radial direction of the first inner lens 3, as shown in Figures 6, 7 and 8.
[0040] As a result, each incident portion 9A focuses the light L that enters the inside of the first inner lens 3 from the first light-collecting incident surface 9a toward the optical axis, and then diffuses the light in the circumferential direction of the first inner lens 3 while entering the inside of the first inner lens 3.
[0041] The emission part 10 has a diffusive emission surface 10a on the front side of the first inner lens 3, as shown in FIGS.
[0042] The diffuse emission surface 10a has an uneven structure formed by, for example, lens cutting called flute cutting or fisheye cutting, knurling, embossing, etc. on the front side of the first inner lens 3. In addition, by adjusting the shape, etc. of this diffuse emission surface 10a, it is possible to control the degree of diffusion of the light L emitted from the emission part 10.
[0043] In the emission section 10, the light L guided toward the front side of the first inner lens 3 is diffused by the diffusion emission surface 10a and emitted to the outside of the first inner lens 3.
[0044] As a result, the light L emitted from the diffusing emission surface 10a (emission portion 10) while being diffused is irradiated towards the second inner lens 4 in the front.
[0045] The optical path conversion section 11 has a first reflecting surface 11a that reflects light L incident from multiple incident sections 9 toward the outer circumferential side of the first inner lens 3, and a second reflecting surface 11b that reflects light L reflected by the first reflecting surface 11a toward the front side of the first inner lens 3.
[0046] The first reflecting surface 11a and the second reflecting surface 11b are each configured as an inclined surface inclined at a predetermined angle (45° in this embodiment) with respect to the traveling direction of the light L guided inside the first inner lens 3.
[0047] As shown in Figures 2, 3 and 9, the second inner lens 4 is made of a transparent resin such as polycarbonate (PC) or acrylic (PMMA), and has a shape that protrudes forward and covers the front side of the first inner lens 3 in the shape of a circular ring.
[0048] The second inner lens 4 serves as a second light guide and is positioned in front of the first inner lens 3, receiving light L emitted from the emission portion 10 of the first inner lens 3 from the rear side and emitting it from the front side, causing the front side to emit light in a ring shape.
[0049] Specifically, the second inner lens 4 has a first light-emitting surface 4a and a second light-emitting surface 4b arranged concentrically on the front side. The first light-emitting surface 4a is located on the outer periphery side of the second light-emitting surface 4b. In addition, a recess 4c is provided between the first light-emitting surface 4a and the second light-emitting surface 4b.
[0050] 9, in the second inner lens 4, of the light L diffused and emitted from the above-mentioned diffusion emission surface 10a, light L1 which becomes the main light distribution is incident on the first light emitting surface 4a, while light L2 which becomes the secondary light distribution is incident on the second light emitting surface 4b.
[0051] Therefore, in the second inner lens 4, it is possible to make the first light emitting surface 4a emit light relatively brighter than the second light emitting surface 4b.
[0052] The optical path conversion unit 11 converts the optical path of the light L incident from the incident portion 9 by the first reflecting surface 11a and the second reflecting surface 11b so that the light L1, which is the main light distribution, is incident on the first light emitting surface 4a. In order to provide the optical path conversion unit 11, each incident portion 9 is provided with the cutout portion 3b.
[0053] In the vehicle lamp 1 of this embodiment having the above-mentioned configuration, as the above-mentioned tail lamp / stop lamp TLL / STL, it is possible to emit red light from the front side of the second inner lens 4, including the first light-emitting surface 4a and the second light-emitting surface 4b.
[0054] Incidentally, in the vehicle lamp 1 of this embodiment, as shown in Figs. 2 and 3, a configuration is adopted in which a plurality of diffusion cuts 12 are provided on a part of the plurality of incident portions 9, namely, incident portion 9A.
[0055] A portion of the incident portion 9A is located outside and at the upper portion in the vehicle width direction of the first inner lens 3 where the optical path length of the light L traveling from the exit portion 10 of the first inner lens 3 toward the second inner lens 4 is relatively short.
[0056] The light L incident from some of the entrance portions 9A has a relatively higher brightness than the light L incident from the other entrance portions 9 because the optical path length of the light L traveling from the exit portion 10 to the second inner lens 4 is shorter.
[0057] In contrast, in some of the incident sections 9A, the light L incident from the first light-collecting incident surface 9a is diffused by multiple diffusion cuts 12, making it possible to reduce the brightness of the light L traveling from the exit section 10 to the second inner lens 4.
[0058] As a result, in the vehicle lamp 1 of this embodiment, it is possible to eliminate the brightness difference caused by the difference in the optical path length of the light L traveling from the exit portion 10 of the first inner lens 3 to the second inner lens 4 described above.
[0059] As described above, in the vehicle lamp 1 of this embodiment, by eliminating the brightness difference caused by the difference in the optical path length of the light L traveling from the exit portion 10 of the first inner lens 3 to the second inner lens 4 described above, it is possible to cause the first light-emitting surface 4a and the second light-emitting surface 4b to emit light more uniformly in the circumferential direction of the second inner lens 4.
[0060] FIG. 10 shows a graph of the luminance distribution measured in the circumferential direction of the first light-emitting surface 4a in the vehicle lamp 1 of this embodiment.
[0061] On the other hand, as a comparative example, FIG. 11 shows a graph of the luminance distribution in the circumferential direction of the first light-emitting surface 4a when the multiple diffusion cuts 12 are omitted.
[0062] As shown in the graphs of Figures 10 and 11, in the vehicle lamp 1 of this embodiment, by providing multiple diffusion cuts 12 in the above-mentioned portion of the incident portion 9A, it is possible to eliminate the brightness difference in the circumferential direction of the first light-emitting surface 4a and cause the first light-emitting surface 4a to emit light more uniformly.
[0063] The present invention is not necessarily limited to the above-described embodiment, and various modifications can be made without departing from the spirit of the present invention.
[0064] For example, in the above embodiment, the tail lamp / stop lamp TLL / STL of the above-mentioned rear combination lamp RCL emits red light in a circular ring shape, but the present invention can be applied to other vehicle lamps. Also, the present invention can be applied not only to the above-mentioned rear vehicle lamp but also to a front vehicle lamp.
[0065] In other words, in terms of vehicular lighting fixtures to which the present invention can be applied, in addition to the above-mentioned tail lamps, stop lamps, back lamps, and turn lamps, the present invention can be widely applied to vehicular lighting fixtures such as daytime running lamps (DRLs) and position lamps.
[0066] In addition, the color of the light emitted by the light source can be changed as appropriate depending on the application of the vehicle lamp, such as the above-mentioned red light, orange light, or white light.
[0067] In addition, although the present invention is preferably used when the light-emitting surface of the light guide is caused to emit light uniformly in a ring shape, the present invention can also be applied when the light-emitting surface of the light guide is caused to emit light in a line shape.
[0068] In other words, in a light guide in which the outer side is shorter in the longitudinal direction than the inner side in the vehicle width direction, by providing multiple diffusion cuts at the entrance portion located on the outer side in the vehicle width direction, it is possible to eliminate the brightness difference in the width direction of the light-emitting surface and make the light-emitting surface emit light more uniformly.
