Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present invention relates to a packaging container having a container body and a lid. [Background technology]

[0002] For example, packaging containers are used to store boxed lunches, prepared foods, fresh foods, and the like, in order to sell these items at retail stores such as supermarkets, convenience stores, and department stores. Such packaging containers include a container body and a lid that engages with the container body, and many of them are formed by thermoforming using a synthetic resin sheet, for example.

[0003] There are two types of fitting between the container body and the lid: external fitting and internal fitting. Internal fitting is a type of fitting in which an internal fitting portion provided on the lid engages with an internal inclined portion provided on the container body. Internal fitting provides a stronger fit between the container body and the lid than external fitting.

[0004] In addition, from the viewpoint of environmental consideration, there is a demand for reducing the amount of resin material used in packaging containers, and efforts are being made to reduce the thickness of the container body and the lid. Patent Document 1 describes forming the outer edges of the container body and the lid into a corrugated shape to prevent injury caused by the outer edges, which is one of the problems associated with thinning the container. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]

[0005] [Patent Document 1] JP 2004-306193 A Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]

[0006] However, when the container body and the lid are made thin, problems arise such as injury from the outer edges, as well as whitening or tearing due to the load being concentrated at a specific point of the lid when opening the lid. Such problems when opening the lid are particularly likely to occur in packaging containers with a strong inner fit.

[0007] In addition, since the lid is frequently operated when opening and closing the lid, there is a risk of deformation of the lid during the opening operation. Specifically, deformation such as the outer edge being rolled up may occur in the flange of the lid, to which force is applied when opening the lid. Such deformation forms a path for foreign objects to enter the packaging container. Note that the technology of Patent Document 1 is only intended to prevent injuries caused by the outer edge. Therefore, it cannot solve such problems.

[0008] One aspect of the present invention has been made in consideration of the above-mentioned problems, and aims to provide a packaging container in which the lid is less likely to whiten, break, deform, etc. when opened, even if the lid is made thin. [Means for solving the problem]

[0009] In order to solve the above problems, a packaging container according to one aspect of the present invention is a packaging container that includes a container body and a lid body and is formed into a rectangular shape in a plan view, the container body having a bottom surface, a main body peripheral wall portion extending upward from the bottom surface, a main body flange portion extending outward from the main body peripheral wall portion, and an inwardly inclined wall portion that is a part of the main body peripheral wall portion and is provided on the inside of the main body flange portion and inclined downward and outward, and the lid body has a top surface portion, a lid body peripheral wall portion extending downward from the top surface portion, and an inwardly inclined wall portion that is provided on the outside of the lid body peripheral wall portion. and a lid flange portion extending outward, and a fitting protrusion provided between the lid peripheral wall portion and the lid flange portion, extending downward and outwardly and fitting internally into the inwardly inclined wall portion, the lid flange portion having a parabolic step portion formed of a plurality of stepped steps at at least one of the four corners of the lid, the ridgeline of each step being parabolic, and a lid flat surface portion connected to the lowest step of the parabolic step portion via a curved boundary line between the corner at which the parabolic step portion is provided and the two corners adjacent to that corner.

[0010] According to the above configuration, when the lid is lifted from a corner of the packaging container where the parabolic step is provided, the lid rolls up from the boundary between the parabolic step and the flat surface of the lid, and then the container body and the lid are separated. The stress generated when the corner of the lid is lifted is dispersed and absorbed by the deformation of each of the multiple steps of the parabolic step. Therefore, deformation of the lid flange at the lifted corner can be suppressed. In addition, when the corner is lifted, stress is likely to concentrate near the corner of the lid flange, and if the lid is thinned, whitening or tearing is likely to occur at the location where the stress is concentrated. In the above configuration, since the boundary is curved, stress concentration is unlikely to occur, and whitening or tearing can be suppressed even if the lid is thinned.

[0011] In one aspect of the present invention, the parabolic step portion may be provided at each of the four corners of the lid, and the lid flat surface portion may have a crescent shape in a plan view due to the boundary lines between the parabolic step portions provided at the two adjacent corners. With the above configuration, the lid can be opened from any of the four corners of the packaging container.

[0012] In one aspect of the present invention, the parabolic step may be such that the container body and the lid have a rectangular shape, and the length of the arc of the crescent shape of the flat surface of the lid is longer on the long side than on the short side. With this configuration, the area of the flat surface of the lid on the long side is larger, which reduces a gap between the container body and the lid due to bending that is more likely to occur on the long side than on the short side in the closed state, and effectively reduces whitening and tearing of the lid.

[0013] In one aspect of the present invention, the container body and the lid may have a rectangular shape, the body flange portion and the lid flange portion may be formed so that the short side is wider than the long side, and the distance between the ridge lines of the parabolic step portion may be wider on the short side than on the long side. With the above configuration, the distance between the ridge lines is different between the short side and the long side, and the stress generated when the corner of the lid is lifted can be distributed in a balanced manner between the short side and the long side, thereby effectively suppressing whitening and tearing.

[0014] In one aspect of the present invention, the lid body may have a tab at the corner where the parabolic step is provided, the tab protruding outward beyond the outer edge of the container body in the closed state. According to the above configuration, the provision of the tab makes it easy to open the packaging container.

[0015] In one aspect of the present invention, the lid body includes a lid body skirt portion extending downward and outward from the lid body flange portion, and the lid body skirt portion may have a notch-shaped recess extending upward from the lower edge of the skirt portion at a position corresponding to the end of the parabolic step portion in a direction along the outer peripheral edge of the lid body peripheral wall portion.

[0016] In a configuration in which a lid skirt portion is provided, stress is likely to concentrate at the position corresponding to the end of the parabolic step portion in the direction along the outer periphery of the lid peripheral wall portion, causing whitening or tearing. By forming a notched recess 38 at the position where stress is concentrated as in the above configuration, whitening or tearing of the lid skirt portion 37 can be made less likely to occur.

[0017] In one aspect of the present invention, the lid flange portion has a concave shape that is recessed upwardly on the bottom surface side by forming the parabolic step portion such that it rises outward, and the main body flange portion may have a convex portion corresponding to the concave shape in the lid flange portion, and a main body flat surface portion corresponding to the lid flat surface portion.

[0018] With the above configuration, the shape of the main body flange portion is shaped to conform to the shape of the lid flange portion having a parabolic step portion and a lid flat surface portion, making it possible to more smoothly open the packaging container using the parabolic step portion.

[0019] In one aspect of the present invention, the corners of the plurality of steps in the parabolic step portion may be rounded, and the valleys between the plurality of steps may be broken lines. With the above configuration, the parabolic step portion can effectively disperse and absorb the stress applied during the operation of removing the lid from the container body, thereby effectively suppressing whitening or breakage of the lid due to stress concentration. Effect of the Invention

[0020] According to one aspect of the present invention, a packaging container can be provided in which the lid is less likely to whiten, break, deform, etc. when opened, even if the lid is made thin. [Brief description of the drawings]

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0022] [Embodiment 1] A preferred embodiment of the present invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings. In this embodiment, a packaging container 1 for containing food such as raw fish or side dishes as contained items will be described as an example.

[0023] (1. Overview of packaging containers) An overview of a packaging container 1 according to one embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to Figs. 1 to 3. As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the packaging container 1 includes a container body 10 and a lid body 30. The container body 10 and the lid body 30 can be manufactured by thermoforming a synthetic resin sheet, although there is no particular limitation thereon. The synthetic resin sheet may be either a non-foamed resin sheet or a foamed resin sheet. In this embodiment, the lid body 30 is formed of a transparent non-foamed resin sheet, and the container body 10 is formed of a foamed resin sheet, so that the contents can be visually confirmed.

[0024] As shown in FIG. 3, the packaging container 1 is formed in a rectangular shape in a plan view. That is, the container body 10 and the lid body 30 constituting the packaging container 1 are formed in a rectangular shape in a plan view. "Rectangular shape in a plan view" means that the outer shape in a plan view is rectangular or approximately rectangular as a whole. Therefore, as long as the outer shape in a plan view of the container body 10 and the lid body 30 is approximately rectangular as a whole, at least a part of the four corners may be formed in a chamfered shape (folded line shape) or a curved shape. In this embodiment, the container body 10 and the lid body 30 are formed in a rectangular shape in a plan view.

[0025] 2, the container body 10 has four body sides 11. In this embodiment, the container body 10 is formed in a rectangular shape when viewed from above, and thus has a pair of short sides 11S and a pair of long sides 11L. Similarly, the lid body 30 has four lid body sides 31, and has a pair of short sides 31S and a pair of long sides 31L.

[0026] (2. Lid) The structure of the lid 30 will be described with reference to Figures 2 to 4 and 6 to 8. As shown in Figures 2 to 4, the lid 30 has a top surface portion 32, a lid peripheral wall portion 33 extending downward from the top surface portion 32, a lid flange portion 34 provided outside the lid peripheral wall portion 33 and extending outward, and a fitting protrusion 35 provided between the lid peripheral wall portion 33 and the lid flange portion 34. The fitting protrusion 35 extends downward and outward at an angle, and fits into an inwardly inclined wall portion 15 of the container body 10, which will be described later.

[0027] 7, the top surface 32 is formed as a flat surface. An inclined chamfered portion 32A is formed on the periphery of the top surface 32. The chamfered portion 32A is formed along each of the lid side portions 31 at the boundary with the lid peripheral wall portion 33.

[0028] In this embodiment, since the chamfered portion 32A is formed on the top surface portion 32, the lid peripheral wall portion 33 is formed so as to extend downward from the chamfered portion 32A. The lid peripheral wall portion 33 is formed so as to incline outward as it extends downward. The lid peripheral wall portion 33 is formed in an annular shape so as to surround the periphery of the top surface portion 32.

[0029] As shown in Figures 2 to 4, the lid flange 34 is formed in a rectangular shape in a plan view, and therefore has a pair of long side lid flanges 34L and a pair of short side lid flanges 34S. As shown in Figure 6, in this embodiment, the lid flange 34 is not formed in a straight line in a side view, but is formed so that the four corners are higher in a side view. Although not shown, the lid flange 34 is also formed so that the four corners are higher in a front view.

[0030] As shown in Figures 2 to 4, specifically, the lid flange portion 34 has four parabolic step portions 34A located at the four corners, and a lid flat surface portion 34B that extends flatly and is located between adjacent parabolic step portions 34A.

[0031] The parabolic step 34A is located across the corner where the long side cover flange 34L and the short side cover flange 34S are connected. The cover flat surface 34B is located on each of the pair of long side cover flanges 34L and the pair of short side cover flanges 34S. That is, the cover flat surface 34B has a pair of cover flat surface portions 34BL along the pair of long sides 31L and a pair of cover flat surface portions 34BS along the pair of short sides 31S.

[0032] The parabolic step portion 34A is formed by a plurality of step-like steps 34AA, and the ridge line L1 of each step 34AA forms a parabola. The ridge line L1 corresponds to a corner of each step 34AA.

[0033] As shown in Fig. 8, in this embodiment, the parabolic step portion 34A is formed so that a plurality of step-like steps 34AA rise outward. A concave shape 34C (see Fig. 4) is formed on the bottom surface side of the portion of the cover flange portion 34 where the parabolic step portion 34A is formed.

[0034] 8, in the present embodiment, in the parabolic step 34A, the corners (ridge lines L1) of the multiple steps 34AA are rounded, and the valleys (between the ridge lines L1, L1) between the multiple steps 34AA are bent lines. With this configuration, the parabolic step 34A can effectively disperse and absorb the stress applied during the lid opening operation of removing the lid 30 from the container body 10, and can effectively prevent the lid 30 from whitening or breaking due to stress concentration.

[0035] 3, in this embodiment, the multiple ridge lines L1 converge at the end along the outer periphery of the lid peripheral wall portion 33. In other words, the curvature of the ridge lines L1 is greater on the outside than on the inside.

[0036] In this embodiment, the short side of the lid flange portion 34 is wider than the long side. In other words, the short side lid flange portion 34S is wider than the long side lid flange portion 34L. Accordingly, the interval between the ridge lines L1 is wider on the short side than on the long side. With this configuration, the interval between the ridge lines L1 is made different between the short side and the long side, and the stress generated when the corner of the lid 30 is lifted can be distributed in a balanced manner between the short side and the long side, effectively suppressing whitening and tearing.

[0037] As shown in Figs. 2 and 3, the lid flat surface portion 34B is connected to the lowest step 34AA of the parabolic step portion 34A via a curved boundary line L2 between the corner where the parabolic step portion 34A is provided and the two corners adjacent to the corner. In this embodiment, as described above, the parabolic step portion 34A is provided at each of the four corners of the lid 30. Therefore, the lid flat surface portion 34B has a crescent shape in a plan view due to the boundary lines L2, L2 with the parabolic step portions 34A provided at the two adjacent corners. With this configuration, the lid 30 can be opened from any of the four corners of the packaging container 1.

[0038] The lid flat surface portion 34BL along the long side 31L has a crescent shape with a longer crescent-shaped arc than the lid flat surface portion 34BS along the short side 31S, and the length of the arc in the crescent shape is longer on the long side than on the short side. With this configuration, the area of the lid flat surface portion 34BL on the long side is increased, which suppresses a gap between the container body 10 and the lid 30 due to bending that is more likely to occur on the long side than on the short side in the closed state, and effectively suppresses whitening and tearing of the lid 30.

[0039] As shown in Figures 4, 6 and 7, the fitting protrusion 35 is provided between the lid peripheral wall 33 and the lid flange 34. The fitting protrusion 35 extends downward and outwardly at an inclination, and fits inside an inwardly inclined wall 15 (see Figure 6) of the container body 10, which will be described later. As shown in Figures 7 and 8, specifically, the fitting protrusion 35 extends slightly laterally at the lower end of the lid peripheral wall 33, then falls at an outwardly inclined angle, and then extends flatly laterally. The fitting protrusion 35 is formed by rising with a bulge toward the outside and then falling upward.

[0040] 2 to 4, in this embodiment, the lid 30 has a gripping piece 36 consisting of a protruding piece that protrudes outward from the lid flange 34 at the corner where the parabolic step 34A is provided. The gripping piece 36 protrudes outward from the outer edge of the container body 10 in a closed state where the lid 30 covers the container body 10. The provision of the gripping piece 36 makes it easy to open the packaging container 1.

[0041] 2 to 4, in this embodiment, the lid 30 includes a lid skirt portion 37 extending downward and outward from the lid flange portion 34. The lid skirt portion 37 is formed so as to extend downward and outward from the outer edge of the lid flange portion 34. The lid skirt portion 37 is formed around the entire periphery of the lid 30.

[0042] As shown in Figs. 1 to 4, a recess 38 is formed in the lid skirt portion 37. The recess 38 is formed in a position on the lid skirt portion 37 corresponding to an end of the parabolic step portion 34A in a direction along the outer peripheral edge of the lid peripheral wall portion 33. The recess 38 is formed in a notch shape extending upward from the lower end edge of the lid skirt portion 37. In this embodiment, the recess 38 is formed on both sides of the corner where the parabolic step portion 34A is located, but it may be formed on only one side.

[0043] (3. Container Body) 2 and 5 to 8, the container body 10 has a bottom surface portion 12, a main body peripheral wall portion 13 extending upward from the bottom surface portion 12, a main body flange portion 14 extending outward from the main body peripheral wall portion 13, and an inwardly inclined wall portion 15. The inwardly inclined wall portion 15 is a part of the main body peripheral wall portion 13, is provided more inward than the main body flange portion 14, and is inclined downward and outward.

[0044] 2 and 5, the bottom surface portion 12 has a mounting portion 12A on which an object to be contained is placed, a concave groove portion 12B, and a bottom groove portion 12C. The mounting portion 12A is formed with an annular protrusion 12A1 provided on the edge of the mounting portion 12A, a plurality of rib-like protrusions 12A2 extending in the short direction, and the like. The mounting portion 12A is formed in a raised bottom shape.

[0045] Four recessed grooves 12B are provided so as to surround the four corners of the periphery of the mounting portion 12A. The recessed grooves 12B are formed so as to be recessed downward from the mounting portion 12A. The bottom grooves 12C are provided in the recessed grooves 12B and are formed so as to be recessed further downward from the recessed grooves 12B. In this embodiment, the bottom grooves 12C are provided in an L-shape at the four corners of the container body 10 in the recessed grooves 12B. The bottom grooves 12C form legs 16 (see Figs. 1 and 6) at the four corners of the container body 10 to stabilize the self-supporting position of the container body 10.

[0046] 5, in this embodiment, between adjacent grooves 12B in the four corners, bulging portions 12D are formed that bulge upward toward the side where the placement portion 12A is located. A pair of bulging portions 12DL along the pair of long sides 11L form a trapezoidal shape bulging along the long sides 11L. A pair of bulging portions 12DS along the pair of short sides 11S form a semicircular arc shape along the short sides 11S. These bulging portions 12D serve as stiffness reinforcing portions, and the stiffness of the container body 10 can be increased by forming these bulging portions 12D.

[0047] In this embodiment, the bottom surface portion 12 is formed with the recessed groove portion 12B, the bottom groove portion 12C, and the bulging portion 12D. Therefore, as shown in Fig. 5, the main body peripheral wall portion 13 is formed so as to extend upward from the bottom surfaces of the recessed groove portion 12B, the bottom groove portion 12C, and the bulging portion 12D. The main body peripheral wall portion 13 is formed in an annular shape so as to surround the periphery of the bottom surface portion 12. The object to be contained is contained in a space defined by the bottom surface portion 12, the main body peripheral wall portion 13, and the top surface portion 32 and the lid peripheral wall portion 33 of the lid body 30 described above.

[0048] The inwardly inclined wall portion 15 is provided on the inside of the main body flange portion 14 as a part of the main body peripheral wall portion 13, and the fitting protrusion 35 of the cover body 30 described above is fitted into the inwardly inclined wall portion 15. The inwardly inclined wall portion 15 is formed in an annular shape so as to surround the periphery of the bottom surface portion 12.

[0049] As shown in Figures 2 and 5, the main body flange portion 14 has a pair of long side main body flange portions 14L and a pair of short side main body flange portions 14S. As shown in Figure 6, in this embodiment, the main body flange portion 14 is not formed in a straight line when viewed from the side, but is formed so that the four corners are higher when viewed from the side. Although not shown, the main body flange portion 14 is also formed so that the four corners are higher when viewed from the front.

[0050] Specifically, the main body flange portion 14 has four convex portions 14A located at the four corners and a flat main body flat surface portion 14B located between adjacent convex portions 14A. The main body flat surface portions 14B are located on a pair of long side main body flange portions 14L and a pair of short side main body flange portions 14S, respectively. The convex portions 14A are located so as to straddle the corner portions where the long side main body flange portions 14L and the short side main body flange portions 14S are connected.

[0051] The main body flat surface portion 14B corresponds to the lid flat surface portion 34B of the lid 30, and has a shape that matches the lid flat surface portion 34B. In this embodiment, the main body flat surface portion 14B has a crescent shape in a plan view, the same as the lid flat surface portion 34B. The convex portion 14A corresponds to the concave shape 34C on the bottom side caused by the parabolic step portion 34A of the lid 30, and has a shape that matches the concave shape 34C.

[0052] With this configuration, the shape of the main body flange portion 14 is shaped to match the shape of the lid flange portion 34, which has the parabolic step portion 34A and the lid flat surface portion 34B, making it easier to open the packaging container 1 using the parabolic step portion 34A.

[0053] A body skirt portion 17 is provided on the outer end of the body flange portion 14, extending downward and outward from the outer end. The body skirt portion 17 is formed around the entire circumference of the container body 10. In the closed state, a lid skirt portion 37 is overlapped on the body skirt portion 17.

[0054] (4. Opening procedure) The procedure for opening the packaging container 1 will be described with reference to Figures 3 and 9. As shown in Figure 9, when opening the packaging container 1, the user pinches and lifts the gripping piece 36 of the lid body 30. When pinching the gripping piece 36, the user may place the palm of his or her finger on the parabolic step portion 34A. When the gripping piece 36 is further lifted, the lid body 30 rolls up from the boundary line L2 between the parabolic step portion 34A and the lid body flat surface portion 34B, and then the container body 10 and the lid body 30 are separated from each other.

[0055] The stress generated when the tab 36 is lifted is dispersed and absorbed by the deformation of each of the multiple steps 34AA of the parabolic step 34A, thereby suppressing deformation of the lid flange 34 on which the tab 36 is provided.

[0056] When the tab 36 is lifted further, stress tends to concentrate at point M, marked with a circle in Figure 3, near the corner of the lid flange portion 34. If the lid 30 is made thinner, whitening or tearing is likely to occur at the point where stress is concentrated. In the above configuration, because the boundary line L2 is curved, stress concentration is unlikely to occur, and whitening or tearing can be suppressed even if the lid is made thinner.

[0057] In a configuration in which the lid skirt portion 37 is provided as in this embodiment, stress is likely to concentrate and cause whitening or tearing at a position corresponding to the end of the parabolic step portion 34A in the direction along the outer periphery of the lid peripheral wall portion 33. In this way, by forming a notched recess 38 at the position where stress is concentrated, it is possible to make the lid skirt portion 37 less likely to whiten or tear.

[0058] In addition, the lid 30 is pre-shaped to curl up from the boundary line L2 between the parabolic step portion 34A and the lid flat surface portion 34B, so that the lid flange portion 34 is less likely to develop an unintended curl when opened. This makes it possible to prevent deformation caused by the opening operation even when the lid 30 is made thin.

[0059] Furthermore, even if the lid body is made thin for a packaging container with a strong internal fit, the lid body 30 is pre-shaped to curl up from the boundary line L2 between the parabolic step portion 34A and the lid body flat surface portion 34B, and the lid body flange portion 34 is less likely to develop an unintended curl when opened, making it less likely to whiten or tear.

[0060] In this embodiment, a packaging container 1 having a gripping piece 36 is exemplified, but in the case of a packaging container that is not provided with a gripping piece 36, the corner of the lid body 30 where the parabolic step portion 34A is formed can be pinched and the lid body 30 can be removed by performing the above-mentioned operation.

[0061] In addition, in the present embodiment, a configuration in which the parabolic step portions 34A are provided at the four corners of the lid 30 has been exemplified, but it is sufficient that the parabolic step portion 34A is formed at at least one corner, and the lid flat surface portion 34B is formed on both sides of the parabolic step portion 34A. The lid flat surface portion 34B may be inclined inward (downward and inward) toward the center of the lid 30. In addition, in the present embodiment, the lid skirt portion 37 is provided with the recess 38, but the recess 38 is not necessarily required, and the configuration may be such that the recess 38 is not formed.

[0062] In addition, when the contents are, for example, food ingredients that are to be eaten in several portions, it is possible to store them in a refrigerator with the lid closed. When opening the lid, the lid body 30 may be torn or deformed, making it impossible to close and seal the contents as before. In that case, it is necessary to remove the contents from the packaging container and transfer them to a plate or the like, and then cover them with plastic wrap to prevent the inclusion of foreign objects, the transfer of odors, drying, etc.

[0063] In contrast, in the above configuration, the lid 30 is unlikely to break or deform when opened, so the remaining ingredients can be stored without transferring them to a plate, etc. This effectively prevents the lid of the packaging container from breaking or deforming, which would lead to the packaging container being discarded before the contents are consumed, and the need to use additional plastic wrap or plates that need to be washed with detergent.

[0064] As a result, we will be able to contribute to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Goal 12 "Responsible Consumption and Production" and Goal 14 "Conserve and sustainably use the oceans and marine resources."
