Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present invention relates to a recording method and an ink set. [Background technology]

[0002] Recording by the inkjet method is different from conventional printing methods in that it does not require the use of a plate and has excellent on-demand properties, and therefore is used in a wide range of fields.

[0003] 2. Description of the Related Art As recording by the inkjet method is used in a wide range of fields, there is a need to impart special properties to recorded matter, such as emitting a fragrance from the recorded matter.

[0004] For this reason, inkjet printer inks that contain fragrances in addition to pigments have been proposed (see, for example, Patent Document 1). [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]

[0005] [Patent Document 1] JP 2002-338863 A Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]

[0006] However, when a fragrance is added directly to an inkjet ink, the fragrance evaporates as the inkjet ink applied to a recording medium dries, resulting in problems such as a weaker fragrance emanating from the produced recorded matter and a very short period during which the recorded matter can exert its aromatic effect.

[0007] It is also conceivable to incorporate a fragrance in microcapsules and then include it in the inkjet ink. However, even in this case, the fragrance cannot be made to last sufficiently long, and there is a problem in that the fragrance deteriorates significantly in a short period of time when the printed matter is rubbed or washed. [Means for solving the problem]

[0008] The present invention has been made to solve the above-mentioned problems, and can be realized as the following application examples.

[0009] The recording method according to the application example of the present invention includes a fragrance ink application step of ejecting a fragrance ink containing microcapsules encapsulating a fragrance by an inkjet method and applying the fragrance ink to a recording medium; a color ink applying step of ejecting a color ink containing a color material, resin particles, and water by an ink jet method to apply the color ink to the recording medium; The fragrance ink and the color ink are applied to the recording medium so as to overlap at least partially.

[0010] An ink set according to an embodiment of the present invention is an ink set including a plurality of types of inks ejected by an inkjet method, A fragrance ink containing microcapsules encapsulating a fragrance; and a color ink containing a color material, resin particles, and water. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0012] Preferred embodiments of the present invention will now be described in detail. [1] Ink set First, the ink set of the present invention will be described.

[0013] The ink set of the present invention is an ink set comprising multiple types of inks that are ejected by an inkjet method, and comprises a fragrance ink containing microcapsules encapsulating a fragrance, and a colored ink containing a color material, resin particles, and water.

[0014] This makes it possible to provide an ink set that can be used for the stable production of recorded matter with excellent fragrance durability. In particular, even if the recorded matter is rubbed or washed, it is possible to prevent the fragrance from significantly decreasing in a short period of time. In addition, it is possible to provide inks used for producing recorded matter with excellent storage stability.

[0015] Such excellent effects are believed to be obtained for the following reasons. That is, by encapsulating the fragrance in the microcapsules and using the resin particles, the microcapsules are prevented from unintentionally falling off the recording medium, and the fragrance encapsulated in the microcapsules can be suitably retained on the recording medium, so that the fragrance can be stably maintained for a long period of time. In particular, even if the recorded matter is rubbed or washed, it is possible to prevent the fragrance from being significantly reduced in a short period of time. In addition, by including the resin particles in the color ink rather than the fragrance ink, that is, by separating the microcapsules from the resin particles before the production of the recording portion, it is possible to suitably prevent the occurrence of unintentional aggregation of the microcapsules during the storage of the ink used to produce the recorded matter. This makes it possible to provide excellent storage stability of the ink and excellent ejection stability by the inkjet method, and to stably produce the recorded matter for a long period of time.

[0016] Furthermore, by preparing both an ink containing a fragrance and an ink containing a coloring material, the amount of each ink applied can be adjusted to suitably adjust the level of fragrance, etc.

[0017] The ink set of the present invention is suitably used in the recording method described in detail below. [1-1] About the inkjet method Hereinafter, the fragrance ink and color ink constituting the ink set of the present invention are ejected by the inkjet method.

[0018] Since the ink is discharged by the inkjet method, for example, a recording portion to be formed using a fragrance ink or a recording portion to be formed using a color ink can be suitably formed even if it is a fine pattern. In addition, a recording portion can be suitably formed on a curved surface or the like. In addition, it has excellent on-demand properties and can suitably form recording portions of various patterns. In addition, it is possible to eliminate waste of ink, which is also preferable from the viewpoint of resource saving.

[0019] Examples of the inkjet method include on-demand methods such as a charge deflection method, a continuous method, a piezoelectric method, and a bubble jet (registered trademark) method.

[0020] [1-2] Fragrance ink The perfume ink constituting the ink set of the present invention will be described below.

[0021] [1-2-1] Microcapsules The perfumed ink contains microcapsules that encapsulate at least a perfume.

[0022] Furthermore, if the ink contains a fragrance that is not coated with a shell material instead of microcapsules that encapsulate the fragrance, the fragrance will evaporate as the inkjet ink applied to the recording medium dries, resulting in problems such as a weaker fragrance emanating from the produced recorded matter and a very short period of time during which the recorded matter can exert its aromatic effect.

[0023] [1-2-1-1]Fragrance The microcapsules contained in the fragrance ink encapsulate at least a fragrance. As the flavoring, for example, various natural flavorings, synthetic flavorings, etc. can be used.

These fragrances may be used alone or in combination of two or more.

[0029] The content of the fragrance in the microcapsules is preferably from 1% by mass to 60% by mass, and more preferably from 10% by mass to 55% by mass.

[0030] This allows the fragrance to be fully exerted in the produced recorded matter, and also makes it possible to improve the adhesion of the microcapsules to the recording medium.

[0031] [1-2-1-2] Shell material The aforementioned fragrance is encapsulated in a shell material in the microcapsules. As the shell material, for example, various resin materials can be used.

[0032] Examples of resin materials constituting the shell material include urethane, melamine, styrene, acrylic, vinyl chloride, inorganic oxides (titanium dioxide, silica, etc.), etc., and one or a combination of two or more selected from these can be used.

[0033] In particular, the microcapsules are preferably made of a material containing at least one of urethane and melamine, and more preferably made of a material containing melamine.

[0034] This makes it possible to improve the persistence of the fragrance of recorded matter produced using the ink set of the present invention, as well as the dispersion stability of the microcapsules in the fragrance ink and the ejection stability of the fragrance ink when subjected to an inkjet method.

[0035] The shell thickness of the microcapsules is preferably 0.3 μm or less, more preferably 3 nm or more and 0.2 μm or less, and even more preferably 5 nm or more and 0.1 μm or less.

[0036] This makes it possible, for example, to effectively prevent unintended diffusion and leakage of fragrance from the microcapsules during storage of the fragrance ink, improving the storage stability of the fragrance ink, while also enabling the fragrance to be more effectively diffused in recorded materials produced using the ink set of the present invention.

[0037] [1-2-1-3] Other ingredients The microcapsules may contain ingredients other than those mentioned above. Hereinafter, in this section, such ingredients are referred to as "other ingredients".

[0038] Examples of other components include oil-soluble dyes, phosphorescent materials, foaming materials, antibacterial materials, and the like. One or a combination of two or more selected from these may be used.

[0039] However, the content of other components in the microcapsules is preferably 10.0% by mass or less, more preferably 7.0% by mass or less, and even more preferably 5.0% by mass or less.

[0040] [1-2-1-4] Other conditions The microcapsules contained in the fragrance ink preferably satisfy the following conditions.

[0041] For example, the average particle size of the microcapsules is preferably 10 nm or more and 10 μm or less, more preferably 15 nm or more and 5 μm or less, and even more preferably 20 nm or more and 1 μm or less.

[0042] This makes it possible to ensure that the content of the fragrance in the microcapsules is sufficiently high, while at the same time improving the ejection stability of the fragrance ink when subjected to an inkjet method.

[0043] In this specification, unless otherwise specified, the average particle size means the particle size at which the frequency of the particle amount is 50% when calculated cumulatively from the small particle size side in the particle distribution measured by dynamic light scattering, and can be determined, for example, by measurement using a zeta potential / particle size measurement system "ELSZ-1000ZS" (manufactured by Otsuka Electronics Co., Ltd.).

[0044] The content of the microcapsules in the fragrance ink is preferably 0.1% by mass or more and 10.0% by mass or less, more preferably 0.2% by mass or more and 7.0% by mass or less, and even more preferably 0.3% by mass or more and 3.0% by mass or less.

[0045] This makes it possible to ensure that the fragrance intensity and persistence in the produced recorded matter are sufficient, while also improving the ejection stability of the fragrance ink when used in an inkjet method.

[0046] [1-2-2]Water The perfume ink usually contains water as a dispersion medium for dispersing the microcapsules described above.

[0047] This allows the microcapsules to be suitably dispersed in the fragrance ink, making it possible to suitably eject the ink by the inkjet method.

[0048] The water content in the fragrance ink is preferably 55.0% by mass or more and 94.0% by mass or less, more preferably 60.0% by mass or more and 92.0% by mass or less, and even more preferably 70.0% by mass or more and 90.0% by mass or less.

[0049] This makes it possible to improve the storage stability of the fragrance ink and the ejection stability when using an inkjet method.

[0050] [1-2-3] Moisturizer The perfumed ink may also include a humectant.

[0051] This makes it possible, for example, to more effectively prevent undesired drying of the fragrance ink in an inkjet head or the like, and improves the ejection stability of the fragrance ink when using the inkjet method.

[0052] Examples of the moisturizing agent include polyol compounds, glycol ethers, and betaine compounds.

[0053] Examples of the polyol compound include polyol compounds having 2 to 6 carbon atoms in the molecule and optionally having an ether bond in the molecule. Specific examples include ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, 1,2-pentanediol, triethylene glycol, triethylene glycol monomethyl ether, triethylene glycol monobutyl ether, trimethylolpropane, diethylene glycol monobutyl ether, dipropylene glycol monopropyl ether, glycerin, 1,2-hexanediol, 1,2-heptanediol, 1,3-propanediol, 1,2-butanediol, 1,3-butanediol, 1,4 -butanediol, 2,3-butanediol, 2-methyl-3-phenoxy-1,2-propanediol, 3-(3-methylphenoxy)-1,2-propanediol, 3-hexyloxy-1,2-propanediol, 2-hydroxymethyl-2-phenoxymethyl-1,3-propanediol, 3-methyl-1,3-butanediol, 1,5-pentanediol, 1,6-hexanediol, 2-methyl-2,4-pentanediol, and 3-methyl-1,5-pentanediol.

[0054] The glycol ether is preferably a monoalkyl ether of a glycol selected from, for example, ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, triethylene glycol, polyethylene glycol, propylene glycol, dipropylene glycol, tripropylene glycol, polypropylene glycol, and polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene glycol. More preferably, triethylene glycol monomethyl ether, triethylene glycol monobutyl ether, dipropylene glycol monopropyl ether, and the like can be mentioned.

[0055] A betaine compound is a compound that has a positive charge and a negative charge at non-adjacent positions in the same molecule, and the positively charged atom is not bound to a dissociable hydrogen atom, and the molecule as a whole does not have a charge.Preferred betaine compounds are N-alkyl substituted amino acids, more preferably N-trialkyl substituted amino acids.Examples of betaine compounds include trimethylglycine, γ-butyrobetaine, homarine, trigonelline, carnitine, homoserine betaine, valine betaine, lysine betaine, ornithine betaine, alanine betaine, stachydrine, and glutamic acid betaine, and preferably trimethylglycine.

[0056] In particular, it is preferable that the perfume ink contains, as a moisturizing agent, at least one selected from the group consisting of glycerin, propylene glycol, and glycol ether. This makes the above-mentioned effects more pronounced.

[0057] The content of the humectant in the fragrance ink is preferably 5.0% by mass or more and 35.0% by mass or less, more preferably 7.0% by mass or more and 30.0% by mass or less, and even more preferably 10.0% by mass or more and 27.0% by mass or less.

[0058] This makes it possible to obtain a more suitable moisturizing effect while effectively preventing the fragrance ink from becoming excessively viscous, and further improves the ejection stability of the fragrance ink when used in an inkjet printer.

[0059] In particular, when the color ink contains a pigment as a coloring material and the recording medium is a fabric, the sum of the glycerin content, propylene glycol content, and glycol ether content in the color ink is preferably 3.0% by mass or more and 30.0% by mass or less, more preferably 5.0% by mass or more and 25.0% by mass or less, and even more preferably 8.0% by mass or more and 23.0% by mass or less. This allows the moisturizing effect to be more effectively exerted, and the ejection stability to be further improved.

[0060] [1-2-4] Surfactants The perfumed ink may include a surfactant.

[0061] This improves the permeability of the perfume ink into the permeable recording medium, for example, and allows the perfume to more suitably penetrate into the interior of the recording medium. As a result, the scent of the recorded matter produced can be more suitably sustained. This effect is more pronounced when the recording medium is a fabric.

[0062] Examples of surfactants include acetylene glycol surfactants, acetylene alcohol surfactants, polysiloxane surfactants, etc., and one or more selected from these may be used in combination. Among these, acetylene surfactants are preferred. This makes the above-mentioned effects more pronounced.

[0063] The above-mentioned acetylene glycol surfactant and acetylene alcohol surfactant are not particularly limited, but examples thereof include 2,4,7,9-tetramethyl-5-decyne-4,7-diol and alkylene oxide adducts of 2,4,7,9-tetramethyl-5-decyne-4,7-diol, and 2,4-dimethyl-5-decyne-4-ol and alkylene oxide adducts of 2,4-dimethyl-5-decyne-4-ol. These are available as commercial products such as E series (trade names of Air Products Co., Ltd.) such as Olfin 104 series and Olfin E1010, Surfynol 465 and Surfynol 61 (trade names of Nissin Chemical Industry Co., Ltd.).

[0064] Furthermore, the polysiloxane surfactant is not particularly limited, but examples thereof include BYK-347 and BYK-348 (trade names manufactured by BYK Japan KK).

[0065] The content of the surfactant in the perfumed ink is preferably from 0.05% to 0.50% by mass, more preferably from 0.07% to 0.45% by mass, and even more preferably from 0.10% to 0.40% by mass. This makes the above-mentioned effects more pronounced.

[0066] [1-2-5] Other ingredients The perfume ink may contain ingredients other than those mentioned above. Hereinafter, in this section, such ingredients will be referred to as "other ingredients".

[0067] Examples of other components include pH adjusters, preservatives, antifungal agents, dispersants, chelating agents, rust inhibitors, antioxidants, ultraviolet absorbers, oxygen absorbers, etc., and one or more selected from these may be used in combination.

[0068] Examples of pH adjusters include potassium dihydrogen phosphate, disodium hydrogen phosphate, sodium hydroxide, lithium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, ammonia, diethanolamine, triethanolamine, triisopropanolamine, potassium carbonate, sodium carbonate, sodium hydrogen carbonate, and the like. One or more selected from these may be used in combination.

[0069] Examples of preservatives and antifungal agents include sodium benzoate, sodium pentachlorophenol, sodium 2-pyridinethiol-1-oxide, sodium sorbate, sodium dehydroacetate, 1,2-dibenzinethiazolin-3-one, and the like. One or more selected from these may be used in combination.

[0070] However, the content of other components in the fragrance ink is preferably 10.0% by mass or less, more preferably 7.0% by mass or less, and even more preferably 5.0% by mass or less.

[0071] In particular, it is preferable that the fragrance ink is substantially free of resin particles, which will be described in detail later as a constituent of the color ink. More specifically, the content of resin particles in the fragrance ink is preferably 0.1% by mass or less, more preferably 0.03% by mass or less, and even more preferably 0.01% by mass or less.

[0072] This makes it possible to more effectively prevent undesired aggregation of the microcapsules in the fragrance ink, and to improve the storage stability of the fragrance ink and the ejection stability by the inkjet method, thereby enabling the production of recorded matter to be carried out more stably for a longer period of time.

[0073] [1-2-6] Other conditions It is preferable that the perfume ink satisfies the following conditions.

[0074] For example, the viscosity of the fragrance ink is preferably from 2 mPa·s to 20 mPa·s, more preferably from 3 mPa·s to 15 mPa·s, and even more preferably from 4 mPa·s to 10 mPa·s.

[0075] This provides the fragrance ink with better ejection stability when ejected by the inkjet method.

[0076] The viscosity was measured at 25°C using a viscoelasticity tester (e.g., Atago Co., Ltd., VISCO 6800) at a shear rate of 10 [s -1 The viscosity can be measured by reading the viscosity at

[0077] Furthermore, the ink set of the present invention may include at least one type of ink as the flavored ink, but may also include a plurality of types of flavored ink.

[0078] This makes it possible, for example, to express a more complex scent in a recorded matter produced using the ink set of the present invention, or to express different scents in different parts of the recorded matter.

[0079] [1-3] Colored ink Next, the colored inks constituting the ink set of the present invention will be described.

[0080] [1-3-1] Coloring materials The color ink contains a coloring material.

[0081] This makes it possible to form a colored portion that is colored with ink in the produced recorded matter.

[0083] Examples of organic pigments include azo pigments such as azo lakes, insoluble azo pigments, condensed azo pigments, and chelate azo pigments; polycyclic pigments such as phthalocyanine pigments, perylene and perylene pigments, anthraquinone pigments, quinacridone pigments, dioxandinone pigments, thioindigo pigments, isoindolinone pigments, and quinophthaloni pigments; dye lakes such as basic dye lakes and acid dye lakes; nitro pigments, nitroso pigments, aniline black, and daylight fluorescent pigments.

[0084] Examples of inorganic pigments include titanium oxide, iron oxide, carbon black, etc. Carbon black that can be used includes those produced by known methods such as the contact method, furnace method, and thermal method.

[0091] Among these, pigments are preferred as coloring materials. This allows the color development of the recording portion formed using the color ink to be more excellent. In addition, by including a pigment together with resin particles in the color ink, the effect of improving the storage stability and ejection stability of the color ink is more pronounced than when the color ink does not include resin particles. In addition, when microcapsules and a pigment coexist in the same ink, agglomerates of the microcapsules and the pigment are likely to occur in the ink, and the storage stability and ejection stability of the ink are significantly impaired. In contrast, in the present invention, in which the microcapsules and the coloring material are included in different inks, the occurrence of such problems can be effectively prevented. For the above reasons, when the color ink includes a pigment as a coloring material, the effect of the present invention is more pronounced.

[0092] The content of the color material in the color ink is not particularly limited, but is preferably from 1.0% to 20.0% by mass, more preferably from 2.0% to 15.0% by mass, and even more preferably from 3.0% to 12.0% by mass.

[0093] This makes it possible to improve the color development of the recorded portion formed using the color ink, and also makes it possible to more effectively prevent the occurrence of undesired color unevenness in the recorded matter produced using the color ink, so that the above-mentioned effects of the present invention are more significantly exhibited.

[0094] [1-3-2] Resin particles The color ink contains resin particles.

[0095] This makes it possible to improve the adhesion of the microcapsules to the recording medium in the produced recorded matter, and therefore improve the persistence of the fragrance in the recorded matter.

[0096] Examples of resin materials constituting the resin particles include polyurethane, styrene, acrylic, vinyl chloride, polyethylene, etc., and one or a combination of two or more selected from these may be used. Among these, polyurethane is preferable.

[0097] This makes it possible to further improve the adhesion of the microcapsules to the recording medium in the produced recorded matter, and also to further improve the storage stability and ejection stability of the color ink.

[0098] The average particle size of the resin particles is not particularly limited, but is preferably from 0.01 μm to 1.0 μm, and more preferably from 0.1 μm to 0.3 μm.

[0099] This makes it possible to further improve the adhesion of the microcapsules to the recording medium in the produced recorded matter, while also improving the storage stability and ejection stability of the color ink.

[0100] The content of resin particles in the color ink is not particularly limited, but is preferably from 1.0% to 20.0% by mass, more preferably from 3.0% to 17.0% by mass, and even more preferably from 5.0% to 15.0% by mass.

[0101] This makes it possible to improve the adhesion of the microcapsules to the recording medium in the produced recorded matter, while also improving the storage stability and ejection stability of the color ink.

[0102] When the content of color material in the color ink is XA [mass %] and the content of resin particles in the color ink is XB [mass %], it is preferable to satisfy the relationship 0.05≦XB / XA≦20.0, it is more preferable to satisfy the relationship 0.20≦XB / XA≦8.5, and it is even more preferable to satisfy the relationship 0.42≦XB / XA≦5.0.

[0103] This makes it possible to further improve the adhesion of the microcapsules to the recording medium in the produced recorded matter, while also improving the storage stability and ejection stability of the color ink.

[0104] [1-3-3]Water The colored ink contains water.

[0105] This allows the coloring material to be suitably dissolved or dispersed in the color ink, Discharge can be suitably carried out by an inkjet method.

[0106] The water content in the color ink is preferably from 40.0% to 90.0% by mass, more preferably from 50.0% to 85.0% by mass, and even more preferably from 55.0% to 80.0% by mass.

[0107] This makes it possible to improve the storage stability of the color ink and the ejection stability by the inkjet method.

[0108] [1-3-4] Moisturizer The colored ink may include a humectant.

[0109] This makes it possible to more effectively prevent, for example, undesired drying of the color ink in an inkjet head or the like, and improves the ejection stability of the color ink when using an inkjet method.

[0110] Examples of the moisturizer include those exemplified in [1-2-3] above. In particular, the color ink preferably contains, as a moisturizing agent, at least one selected from the group consisting of glycerin, propylene glycol, and glycol ether. This makes the above-mentioned effects more pronounced.

[0111] The content of the humectant in the color ink is preferably from 5.0 to 35.0% by mass, more preferably from 7.0 to 30.0% by mass, and even more preferably from 10.0 to 27.0% by mass.

[0112] This makes it possible to obtain a more suitable moisturizing effect while suitably preventing the color ink from becoming excessively viscous, and further improves the ejection stability of the color ink when subjected to an inkjet method.

[0113] [1-3-5] Surfactants The color ink may contain a surfactant.

[0114] This improves the permeability of the color ink to the permeable recording medium, and improves the adhesion of the recording portion of the color ink to the recording medium. This effect is more pronounced when the recording medium is a fabric.

[0115] Examples of surfactants include acetylene glycol surfactants, acetylene alcohol surfactants, polysiloxane surfactants, etc., and one or more selected from these may be used in combination. Among these, acetylene surfactants are preferred. This makes the above-mentioned effects more pronounced.

[0116] Specific examples of the surfactant contained in the color ink include those exemplified in [1-2-4] above.

[0117] The content of the surfactant in the color ink is preferably from 0.05% to 0.50% by mass, more preferably from 0.07% to 0.45% by mass, and even more preferably from 0.10% to 0.40% by mass. This makes the above-mentioned effects more pronounced.

[0118] [1-3-6] Other ingredients The color ink may contain components other than those described above. Hereinafter, in this section, such components will be referred to as "other components".

[0119] Examples of other components include pH adjusters, preservatives, antifungal agents, dispersants, chelating agents, rust inhibitors, antioxidants, ultraviolet absorbers, oxygen absorbers, etc., and one or more selected from these may be used in combination.

[0120] However, the content of other components in the color ink is preferably 10.0% by mass or less, more preferably 7.0% by mass or less, and even more preferably 5.0% by mass or less.

[0121] [1-3-7] Other conditions The color ink preferably satisfies the following conditions:

[0122] For example, the viscosity of the color ink is preferably from 2 mPa·s to 20 mPa·s, more preferably from 3 mPa·s to 15 mPa·s, and even more preferably from 4 mPa·s to 10 mPa·s.

[0123] This provides more excellent ejection stability of the color ink when subjected to an inkjet method.

[0124] In particular, it is preferable that the color ink satisfies the above-mentioned viscosity condition and that the fragrance ink satisfies the above-mentioned viscosity condition.

[0125] Furthermore, the ink set of the present invention may include at least one type of ink as the colored ink, but may also include a plurality of types of colored ink. This makes it possible to expand the range of color reproduction.

[0126] In particular, when the ink set of the present invention comprises a plurality of types of colored inks, it may comprise at least three colored inks corresponding to the three primary colors, that is, at least three colored inks of cyan, magenta, and yellow.

[0127] The ink set of the present invention may also include achromatic colored inks. Examples of achromatic color inks include black ink and white ink.

[0128] The ink set of the present invention may also include at least one achromatic color ink in addition to at least one chromatic color ink.

[0129] [1-4]Other The ink set of the present invention needs to include at least the fragrance ink and color ink described above, and may further include inks other than these.

[0130] Examples of such inks include clear inks that do not contain coloring materials or microcapsules, and inks that contain coloring materials but do not contain resin particles.

[0131] [2] Recording method Next, the recording method of the present invention will be described.

[0132] The recording method of the present invention includes a fragrance ink applying step of ejecting a fragrance ink containing microcapsules encapsulating a fragrance by an inkjet method and applying it to a recording medium, and a color ink applying step of ejecting a color ink containing a coloring material, resin particles, and water by an inkjet method and applying it to the recording medium. The fragrance ink and the color ink are applied so as to overlap at least partially on the recording medium.

[0133] This provides a recording method that can stably produce recorded matter with excellent fragrance durability. In particular, even if the recorded matter is rubbed or washed, it is possible to prevent the fragrance from decreasing significantly in a short period of time.

[0134] Furthermore, by using both an ink containing a fragrance and an ink containing a coloring material, the amount of each ink applied can be adjusted to suitably adjust the level of fragrance, etc.

[0135] In the recording method of the present invention, the ink set of the present invention described above can be suitably used.

[0136] [2-1] Recording media The recording medium used in the recording method of the present invention will now be described.

[0137] The recording medium is not particularly limited as long as it is capable of adhering to the fragrance ink and colored ink. For example, fabric, film, leather, metal, paper, etc. can be used, with fabric being preferred.

[0138] This allows the microcapsules to be held in a more suitable position, and the above-mentioned effects are more pronounced. Also, the scent can be more suitably diffused by friction or the like.

[0139] Examples of fibers constituting the fabric include cotton, polyester, silk, nylon, etc. The fabric may be a blended fabric. The fabric may be a nonwoven fabric.

[0140] [2-2] Fragrance ink application process In the fragrance ink application step, fragrance ink containing microcapsules encapsulating fragrance is ejected by an inkjet method and applied to the recording medium.

[0141] It is preferable to use a fragrance ink that satisfies the conditions explained in [1-2] above.

[0142] In this step, for example, solid printing may be performed so that the amount of flavored ink applied to each part of the recording medium is uniform, or the amount applied may vary from part to part of the recording medium. Also, there may be parts on the recording medium where the flavored ink is not applied. As the inkjet method, the method described above in [1-1] can be used.

[0143] In this step, at least one type of flavored ink may be used, but it is preferable to use a combination of multiple types of flavored inks.

[0144] This allows, for example, different scents to be produced in different parts of the recording material, and also allows for the expression of more complex scents.

[0145] [2-3] Colored ink application process In the color ink application step, a color ink containing a color material, resin particles, and water is ejected by an inkjet method and applied to a recording medium.

[0146] It is preferable to use color inks that satisfy the conditions explained in [1-3] above.

[0147] In this process, for example, solid printing may be performed so that the amount of color ink applied to each part of the recording medium is uniform, or the amount applied may vary from part to part of the recording medium. Also, there may be parts on the recording medium where no color ink is applied. As the inkjet method, the method described above in [1-1] can be used.

[0148] In this step, at least one type of colored ink may be used, but it is preferable to use a combination of multiple types of colored inks.

[0149] [2-4] Relationship between the fragrance ink application process and the color ink application process The recording method of the present invention has a fragrance ink applying step and a color ink applying step, and the fragrance ink and the color ink are applied so as to overlap at least partially on the recording medium, and the order of the fragrance ink applying step and the color ink applying step is not particularly limited. For example, the fragrance ink may be applied in the fragrance ink applying step and then the color ink may be applied in the color ink applying step, or the color ink may be applied in the color ink applying step and then the fragrance ink may be applied in the fragrance ink applying step, or the fragrance ink applying step and the color ink applying step may be performed simultaneously. Also, for example, the color ink applying step may be performed after the fragrance ink applying step, and then the fragrance ink applying step may be performed, or the color ink applying step may be performed after the color ink applying step, and then the color ink applying step may be performed.

[0150] The fragrance ink application step and the color ink application step may each be performed using a serial head method or a line head method.

[0151] When the fragrance ink application process and the color ink application process are performed using a serial head method, for example, one main scan may be completed before the other main scan is performed, but it is preferable to perform the fragrance ink application process and the color ink application process within the same main scan.

[0152] This allows the fragrance ink and the color ink to be fixed to the recording medium in a more optimally mixed state, and the scent of the produced recorded matter can be more optimally sustained.

[0153] In addition, in the fragrance ink application step, it is preferable to perform multiple main scans and apply fragrance ink in subsequent main scans so as to overlap at least a portion of the area to which fragrance ink has been applied in a previous main scan. This allows the scent of the produced recording material to last longer.

[0154] [2-5] Other processes The recording method of the present invention may further include other steps in addition to the steps described above, for example.

[0155] For example, the recording method of the present invention may further include a step of depositing an ink other than the above-mentioned fragrance ink and color ink onto the recording medium.

[0156] When such a step is performed, the step may be performed, for example, before the fragrance ink application step and the color ink application step described above, or may be performed after the fragrance ink application step and the color ink application step.

[0157] The method may also include a drying step for drying the recording medium to which the ink is attached as described above. Such a drying step may be performed between the steps described above, or may be performed after all the steps described above have been completed.

[0158] [3] Recorded material A recorded matter can be obtained by using the ink set of the present invention and the recording method of the present invention described above. The recorded matter according to the present invention has excellent durability of the fragrance due to the perfume.

[0159] Although the preferred embodiments of the present invention have been described above, the present invention is not limited to these. EXAMPLES

Specifically, a fill pattern that could be recorded at a resolution of 720 dpi horizontally and 720 dpi vertically and with a duty of 100% was created. The number of nozzles missing at the time when printing was completed on 100 sheets of recording medium was determined and judged according to the following criteria. It can be said that the smaller this number, the better the ejection stability.

[0172] AA: No missing nozzles. A: The number of missing nozzles is between 1 and 5. B: The number of missing nozzles is 6 or more and 20 or less. C: 21 or more nozzles are missing.

[0173] [7-2] Clogging recovery The inks used in the examples and comparative examples were filled into an inkjet printer (Seiko Epson Corporation, PX-G930) and left for one month with the cap open. After that, cleaning was performed three times to determine how many nozzles were missing, and the results were evaluated according to the following criteria. The smaller the number, the better the clogging recovery.

[0174] A: There are no missing nozzles. B: The number of missing nozzles is 1 to 5. C: The number of missing nozzles is 6 or more and 20 or less. D: 21 or more nozzles are missing.

[0175] [7-3] Persistence of fragrance [7-3-1] Evaluation over time 24 hours after the production of the recorded matter produced in each of the Examples and Comparative Examples, five evaluators rubbed the printed surface of the printed portion with their fingers 10 times, then immediately smelled the fingers and judged the odor as "odorless: 0 points", "slight fragrance: 1 point", "weak fragrance: 2 points", and "strong fragrance: 3 points". After that, the same judgment as above was made every 24 hours. The average score of the five evaluators at each time point was calculated, and if the average score was 1 point or more, it was judged to be "fragrant", and the judgment was made according to the following criteria. The longer the period of fragrance, the better the durability of the fragrance. The temperature of the environment in which each recorded matter was left was 25°C.

[0176] A: The scent lasts for 30 days or more. B: The scent persists for more than 3 days but less than 30 days. C: The scent persists for less than 3 days.

[0177] [7-3-2] Resistance to dry friction The recorded materials produced in each of the above examples and comparative examples were left in an environment of 25°C for 1 hour after production, and the recorded surface of the recorded material was rubbed 20 times with a dry cotton cloth under a load of 200 g using a Gakushin type friction fastness tester AB-301 (manufactured by Tester Sangyo Co., Ltd.) to prepare samples.

[0178] Five evaluators rubbed the printed surface of each sample with their finger 10 times, then immediately smelled the finger and rated it as "odorless: 0 points," "slight fragrance: 1 point," "weak fragrance: 2 points," or "strong fragrance: 3 points." The average score of the five evaluators was calculated for each sample, and the sample was judged according to the following criteria. The higher the average score, the better the fragrance lasting.

[0179] A: The average score is 2 or more. B: The average score is between 1 and 2 points. C: The average score is between 0 and 1.

[0180] [7-3-3] Resistance to wet friction The recorded materials produced in each of the above examples and comparative examples were left in an environment of 25°C for 1 hour after production, and the recorded surface of the recorded material was rubbed 20 times with a cotton cloth soaked in pure water and moistened under a load of 200 g using a Gakushin type friction fastness tester AB-301 (manufactured by Tester Sangyo Co., Ltd.) to prepare samples.

[0181] Five evaluators rubbed the printed surface of each sample with their finger 10 times, then immediately smelled the finger and rated it as "odorless: 0 points," "slight fragrance: 1 point," "weak fragrance: 2 points," or "strong fragrance: 3 points." The average score of the five evaluators was calculated for each sample, and the sample was judged according to the following criteria. The higher the average score, the better the fragrance lasting.

[0182] A: The average score is 2 or more. B: The average score is between 1 and 2 points. C: The average score is between 0 and 1.

[0183] [7-3-4] Washing fastness The printed matter produced in each of the Examples and Comparative Examples was left in an environment of 25° C. for 1 hour after production, and then subjected to a washing fastness test of ISO 105 C10 (B2) to prepare a sample.

[0184] Five evaluators rubbed the printed surface of each sample with their finger 10 times, then immediately smelled the finger and rated it as "odorless: 0 points," "slight fragrance: 1 point," "weak fragrance: 2 points," or "strong fragrance: 3 points." The average score of the five evaluators was calculated for each sample, and the sample was judged according to the following criteria. The higher the average score, the better the fragrance lasting.

[0185] A: The average score is 2 or more. B: The average score is between 1 and 2 points. C: The average score is between 0 and 1.

[0186] These results, together with the types of inks constituting the ink set and the printing method, are shown in Figures 3 and 4. In Figures 3 and 4, a method in which the fragrance ink and the color ink are discharged in the same main scanning direction using an inkjet printer (Seiko Epson Corporation, PX-G930) so that they are deposited on the fabric as a recording medium in an overlapping manner is shown as "simultaneous printing", a method in which the fragrance ink and the color ink are discharged in different main scanning directions using an inkjet printer (Seiko Epson Corporation, PX-G930) so that they are deposited on the fabric as a recording medium in an overlapping manner is shown as "two-head printing", and a method in which the upper half of the nozzle and the lower half of the nozzle are printed separately using an inkjet printer (Seiko Epson Corporation, PX-G930) is shown as "split nozzle printing".

[0187] As is clear from Figures 3 and 4, excellent results were obtained in the present invention. In contrast, satisfactory results were not obtained in the comparative example.
