Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present invention relates to a medium transport device that transports a medium, and a recording apparatus including the same. [Background technology]

[0002] A medium transport device that transports a medium may be provided with a door for opening a medium transport path, as shown in Patent Document 1. The door is attached to the device body via a hinge. Also, the door may adopt a structure for holding the door in an open state as shown in Patent Document 2. The door device described in Patent Document 2 includes a locking protrusion provided on the door, and a locking spring formed of a substantially U-shaped leaf spring, one of which is bent to form a protrusion that the locking protrusion overcomes when the door is opened. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]

[0003] [Patent Document 1] JP 2023-061036 A [Patent Document 2] Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 6-153334 Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]

[0004] The locking spring shown in Patent Document 2 is formed of a substantially U-shaped leaf spring, which requires a large space around the shaft, resulting in a large device. In addition, the protrusion formed on the locking spring is formed on the free end of the leaf spring, but since this free end is provided in a free state in the direction of moving forward and backward relative to the locking protrusion, it is difficult to determine the position of the protrusion relative to the locking protrusion. If the protrusion moves away from the locking protrusion, the holding force to hold the door in the open position is insufficient. Conversely, if the protrusion moves too close to the locking protrusion, a large operating force is required to close the door, or excessive force is applied to the leaf spring, which may cause plastic deformation of the leaf spring. Therefore, it is desirable to obtain an appropriate holding force to hold the door in the open position. [Means for solving the problem]

[0005] In order to solve the above problem, the media transport device of the present invention is a media transport device having a transport path for transporting a medium, and comprises a device main body, a door section that can be opened and closed around a pivot axis extending vertically relative to the device main body, and a door holding section that maintains the door section in an open state at a predetermined angle or more relative to the device main body, wherein the door section forms at least a part of the transport path, and the door holding section has a flat leaf spring provided on one of the door section and the device main body, and an engagement section provided on the other of the door section and the device main body, and the leaf spring has one end which is a fixed end attached to the door section and one of the device main body, and the other end which is a free end which is slidable relative to the door section and one of the device main body, and a convex section located between the fixed end and the free end, and the convex section maintains the door section in an open state at the predetermined angle or more by applying a spring force to the engagement section.

[0006] A recording apparatus according to the present invention includes the medium transport device described above, and a recording section that is housed in the apparatus body and performs recording on the medium transported along the transport path. [Brief description of the drawings]

[0008] The present invention will now be briefly described. A media transport device according to a first aspect is a media transport device having a transport path for transporting a medium, the media transport device comprising: a device main body; a door section that can be opened and closed around a pivot axis extending vertically relative to the device main body; and a door holding section that holds the door section in an open state at a predetermined angle or more relative to the device main body, the door section forming at least a part of the transport path, the door holding section having a flat leaf spring provided on one of the door section and the device main body, and an engagement section provided on the other of the door section and the device main body, the leaf spring having one end which is a fixed end attached to the door section and one of the device main body, and the other end which is a free end which is slidable relative to the door section and one of the device main body, and a convex section located between the fixed end and the free end, the convex section applying a spring force to the engagement section to hold the door section in an open state at the predetermined angle or more.

[0009] According to this aspect, by opening the door portion, at least a jam in the transport path corresponding to the door portion can be cleared. At this time, the door holding portion can maintain the door portion in an open state, which makes it easier to access the device body during a jam clearance operation, etc. Furthermore, since the leaf spring is a flat plate-shaped member having the free end and the fixed end, the space required to install the member for holding the door portion in the open position can be reduced, thereby preventing the device from becoming larger. In addition, the leaf spring has a free end that slides against either the door or the device body, which makes it easier to determine the position of the protrusion relative to the engagement portion, thereby providing an appropriate holding force for holding the door in the open state.

[0010] A second aspect is a mode dependent on the first aspect, and is characterized in that the door portion has a door main body and a door side hinge, the device main body has a mounting frame and a main body side hinge, the leaf spring is provided on one of the door side hinge and the main body side hinge, and the engagement portion is provided on the other of the door side hinge and the main body side hinge.

[0011] According to this aspect, in a configuration having the door side hinge and the main body side hinge, the effects of the first aspect described above can be obtained.

[0012] A third aspect is an aspect dependent on the second aspect, and is characterized in that the leaf spring is fixed to one of the door side hinge and the body side hinge by a screw that fixes one of the door side hinge and the body side hinge.

[0013] According to this aspect, since the leaf spring is fixed to one of the door side hinge and the main body side hinge by a screw that fixes one of the door side hinge and the main body side hinge, a dedicated process for fixing the leaf spring is not required, which improves workability and contributes to cost reduction.

[0014] A fourth aspect is a dependent aspect of the second aspect, and is characterized in that one of the door side hinge and the body side hinge has a spring retaining portion for temporarily fixing the leaf spring in a fixed position relative to the door side hinge and the body side hinge.

[0015] According to this aspect, one of the door side hinge and the body side hinge has a spring holding portion for temporarily fixing the leaf spring to a fixed position relative to one of the door side hinge and the body side hinge, thereby improving workability when fixing the leaf spring to one of the door side hinge and the body side hinge. Incidentally, this aspect is not limited to the second aspect, but may be subordinate to the third aspect.

[0016] A fifth aspect is a mode dependent on the second aspect, and is characterized in that the protrusion is disposed between the rotation shaft and one of the door side hinge and the main body side hinge. According to this aspect, the convex portion is disposed by utilizing the space between the rotation shaft and one of the door-side hinge and the main body-side hinge, so that the device can be made compact. Incidentally, this aspect is not limited to the above-mentioned second aspect, and may be subordinate to the above-mentioned third or fourth aspect.

[0017] A sixth aspect is an aspect dependent on the second aspect, and is characterized in that the leaf spring is provided on the main body side hinge, and the engagement portion is provided on the door side hinge. Since the leaf spring is supported at the fixed end and the free end, if a portion for supporting the leaf spring is provided on the rotating side, i.e., the door portion, the rotating side, i.e., the door portion, tends to become large. However, according to this aspect, the leaf spring is provided on the main body side hinge, and the engagement portion is provided on the door side hinge, so that the door portion can be prevented from becoming large. Incidentally, this aspect is not limited to the above-mentioned second aspect, and may be subordinate to any of the above-mentioned third to fifth aspects.

[0018] A seventh aspect is a dependent aspect of the sixth aspect, and is characterized in that the door side hinge has a door side shaft insertion portion through which the pivot shaft is inserted, and the engagement portion is provided in the door side shaft insertion portion. According to this aspect, the door side hinge has a door side shaft insertion portion through which the pivot shaft is inserted, and the engagement portion is provided in the door side shaft insertion portion, thereby making it possible to reduce the size of the device compared to a configuration in which the engagement portion is provided exclusively.

[0019] An eighth aspect is a aspect dependent on the first aspect, characterized in that the door holding portion is provided in a plurality of parts along the axial direction of the rotation shaft. According to this aspect, since a plurality of the door holding portions are provided along the axial direction of the rotation shaft, the door portion can be more reliably held in the open state. Incidentally, this aspect is not limited to the above-mentioned first aspect, and may be subordinate to any of the above-mentioned second to seventh aspects.

[0020] A ninth aspect is a aspect dependent on the second aspect, and is characterized in that the body side hinge has a bent portion bent in a direction intersecting the surface on which the leaf spring is provided, the bent portion having a connection portion connected to the surface on which the leaf spring is provided and a positioning portion extending from the connection portion, and the body side hinge is positioned in the vertical direction by the positioning portion.

[0021] According to this aspect, the main body side hinge is positioned in the vertical direction by the positioning portion, so that the positioning accuracy of the main body side hinge in the vertical direction is improved and assembly work is facilitated. Furthermore, in the bending portion, the portion bent in a direction intersecting the plane on which the leaf spring is provided is difficult to achieve positional accuracy due to deformation, and if this portion were used as the positioning portion, the vertical position of the main body side hinge would easily become misaligned. However, according to the present embodiment, the positioning portion is provided in a portion extending from the connection portion, and therefore the vertical position of the main body side hinge can be determined more accurately. Incidentally, this aspect is not limited to the above-mentioned second aspect, and may be subordinate to any of the above-mentioned third to eighth aspects.

[0022] The tenth aspect is a dependent aspect of the first aspect, and is characterized in that when the door portion is open to the specified angle or more, the engagement portion is located on the free end side relative to the top of the convex portion.

[0023] In the case where the engaging portion is located on the free end side of the apex of the protrusion when the door portion is opened by the predetermined angle or more, the deformation of the protrusion can be released to the free end side when the door portion is opened, thereby reducing the load when the door portion is opened. Incidentally, this aspect is not limited to the above-mentioned first aspect, and may be subordinate to any of the above-mentioned second to ninth aspects.

[0024] An eleventh aspect is a dependent aspect of the first aspect, characterized in that the convex portion has a first inclined surface inclined toward the free end, and when the door portion is opened at an angle greater than the predetermined angle and the engaging portion is not in contact with the convex portion, and the point at which the engaging portion abuts against the convex portion as the door portion rotates in the closing direction from the state where the engaging portion is not in contact with the convex portion, the angle formed by the first inclined surface and a line perpendicular to the line connecting the center of the rotation axis and the abutment point is less than 45°.

[0025] When the engaging portion overcomes the convex portion from the fixed end side to the free end side, the free end slides over it easily, but when the engaging portion overcomes the convex portion from the free end side to the fixed end side, the convex portion attempts to deform in the opposite direction to the sliding direction of the free end, i.e., toward the fixed end side, generating a large resistance force. According to this aspect, the angle formed by the first inclined surface and a line perpendicular to a line connecting the center of the rotation axis and the abutment point is smaller than 45°, so that the resistance force can be suppressed. Incidentally, this aspect is not limited to the above-mentioned first aspect, and may be subordinate to any of the above-mentioned second to tenth aspects.

[0026] A twelfth aspect is an aspect dependent on the first aspect, characterized in that the convex portion has a first inclined surface inclined toward the free end and a second inclined surface inclined toward the fixed end, and the inclination angle of the first inclined surface is smaller than the inclination angle of the second inclined surface.

[0027] When the engaging portion overcomes the convex portion from the fixed end side to the free end side, the free end slides over it easily, but when the engaging portion overcomes the convex portion from the free end side to the fixed end side, the convex portion attempts to deform in the opposite direction to the sliding direction of the free end, i.e., toward the fixed end side, generating a large resistance force. According to this aspect, the inclination angle of the first inclined surface inclined toward the free end is smaller than the inclination angle of the second inclined surface inclined toward the fixed end, thereby making it possible to suppress the resistance force. Incidentally, this aspect is not limited to the above-mentioned first aspect, and may be subordinate to any of the above-mentioned second to eleventh aspects.

[0028] A thirteenth aspect is a aspect dependent on the first aspect, characterized in that the predetermined angle is 60° or more. According to this aspect, since the specified angle is 60° or more, the door portion can be kept open while maintaining an opening angle, making it easier to access the device main body when clearing a jam, for example. Incidentally, this aspect is not limited to the above-mentioned first aspect, and may be subordinate to any of the above-mentioned second to twelfth aspects.

[0029] A fourteenth aspect is a aspect dependent on the first aspect, further comprising a locking portion that holds the door portion in a closed state relative to the device body. According to this aspect, since the locking portion that holds the door portion in a closed state relative to the device body is further provided, the door portion can be reliably held in a closed state. Incidentally, this aspect is not limited to the above-mentioned first aspect, and may be subordinate to any of the above-mentioned second to thirteenth aspects.

[0030] The recording device of the 15th aspect is characterized in that it comprises the medium conveying device of any of the 1st to 14th aspects, and a recording unit housed in the device main body and performing recording on a medium conveyed along the conveying path. According to this aspect, in a recording device having a recording section that records on a medium, the operational effects of any one of the above-mentioned first to fourteenth aspects can be obtained.

[0031] The 16th aspect is a mode dependent on the 15th aspect, and further comprises a media storage section located below the recording section and capable of storing a medium to be recorded by the recording section, and a media mounting section located above the recording section and onto which the medium on which recording has been performed by the recording section is ejected and mounted, and is characterized in that the door section overlaps the recording section, the media storage section, and the media mounting section when viewed in a direction perpendicular to the door section.

[0032] In a configuration in which the door overlaps the recording unit, the medium storage unit, and the medium placement unit when viewed perpendicularly to the door, the door becomes larger and heavier, which may make it difficult to keep the door open. However, the effect of the first aspect described above makes it possible to properly keep the door open.

[0033] The present invention will be specifically described below. In the following, an inkjet printer 1 that performs recording by ejecting ink, which is an example of a liquid, onto a medium such as recording paper will be described as an example of a recording device. In the following, the inkjet printer 1 will be abbreviated to printer 1. Note that the printer 1 can also be considered as a medium transport device 100 from the viewpoint of transporting the medium. In this case, the printer 1 is equipped with the medium transport device 100 and a line head 44, which is an example of a recording unit, which will be described later.

[0034] The XYZ coordinate system shown in each figure is an orthogonal coordinate system, with the Y axis direction being the direction that intersects with the medium transport direction, i.e., the medium width direction, and also the device depth direction. The +Y direction of the Y axis direction is the direction from the front of the device to the rear of the device, and the -Y direction is the direction from the rear of the device to the front of the device. The X-axis direction is the width direction of the device, and as seen by the operator of the printer 1, the +X direction is the left side and the -X direction is the right side. The Z-axis direction is the vertical direction and is the normal direction to the mounting surface G of the printer 1, that is, the height direction of the device. Within the Z-axis direction, the +Z direction is the upward direction, and the -Z direction is the downward direction. In the following, the direction in which the medium is transported may be referred to as "downstream," and the opposite direction may be referred to as "upstream." In addition, the medium transport path is shown by a dashed line in Figure 1. In the printer 1, the medium is transported through the medium transport path shown by the dashed line in Figure 1.

[0035] The F-axis direction is the medium transport direction between a line head 44 and the transport belt 13 (described later), i.e., in the recording area, with the +F direction being the downstream transport direction and the opposite -F direction being the upstream transport direction. The V-axis direction is perpendicular to the F-axis direction.

[0036] The printer 1 is a multifunction device equipped with a scanner unit 7, which is an example of an image reading device, on the top of the device main body 2. However, the scanner unit 7 may be omitted. An operation panel 6 for performing various operational settings is provided on the top of the device main body 2. The side of the printer 1 in the -Y direction on which the operation panel 6 is provided is defined as the device front side. The printer 1 is also configured so that an add-on unit (not shown) can be connected to the bottom of the device main body 2, and is configured so that media can be fed from this add-on unit. However, the add-on unit does not have to be connectable. In FIG. 1, reference numeral 28 denotes a pair of transport rollers that feed a medium fed from an add-on unit (not shown) into the inside of the device main body 2.

[0037] The device body 2 is provided at its lower portion with a first medium cassette 3, which is an example of a medium storage section that stores a medium. A pick roller 21 that sends out the stored medium in the −X direction is provided for the first medium cassette 3. The medium sent out by the pick roller 21 is sent towards the transport roller pair 31 by the feed roller pair 25. In the following, unless otherwise specified, a "roller pair" is defined as consisting of a drive roller that is driven by a drive source (not shown) to apply a feeding force to the medium, and a driven roller that rotates in contact with the drive roller or the medium.

[0038] The medium receiving the feeding force from the transport roller pair 31 is sent between the line head 44, which is an example of a recording head, and the transport belt 13, that is, to a position facing the line head 44. Note that hereinafter, the medium transport path from the transport roller pair 31 to the transport roller pair 32 is referred to as the transport path T1 during recording. The line head 44, which is an example of a recording section, constitutes the head unit 43. The line head 44 performs recording by ejecting ink onto the surface of the medium. The line head 44 is an ink ejection head configured so that the nozzles that eject ink cover the entire area in the width direction of the medium, and is configured as an ink ejection head that can record over the entire width of the medium without moving in the width direction of the medium. However, the ink ejection head is not limited to this, and may be a type that is mounted on a carriage and ejects ink while moving in the width direction of the medium.

[0039] The head unit 43 is provided so as to be capable of moving forward and backward relative to the transport path T1 during recording, and is provided so as to be movable between a recording position where it advances onto the transport path T1 during recording to record on the medium, and a retreat position where it retreats from the transport path T1 during recording. FIG. 1 shows a state in which the head unit 43 is in the recording position, and in this state recording is performed on the medium.

[0040] Reference numerals 10A, 10B, 10C, and 10D denote ink storage units serving as liquid storage units. Ink ejected from the line head 44 is supplied from each ink storage unit to the line head 44 via a tube (not shown). The ink storage units 10A, 10B, 10C, and 10D are detachably provided in the mounting units 11A, 11B, 11C, and 11D, respectively. Reference numeral 12 denotes a waste liquid storage section that stores ink as waste liquid discharged from the line head 44 toward a flushing cap (not shown) for maintenance purposes.

[0041] The conveyor belt 13 is an endless belt that is wound around pulleys 14 and 15, and rotates when at least one of the pulleys 14 and 15 is driven by a motor (not shown). The medium is conveyed to a position facing the line head 44 while being attracted to the belt surface of the conveyor belt 13. The medium can be attracted to the conveyor belt 13 by a known attraction method such as an air suction method or an electrostatic attraction method.

[0042] Here, the transport path T1 during recording, which passes through a position facing the line head 44, crosses both the horizontal and vertical directions and transports the medium upward. That is, the F-axis direction crosses both the horizontal and vertical directions. Therefore, the ejection surface 44a of the line head 44 that ejects ink is also parallel to the F-axis direction and crosses both the horizontal and vertical directions. In this embodiment, the angle α that the F-axis direction makes with the horizontal direction is 75°. The angle α may be changed to another angle within the range of 0°<α≦90°. For example, the angle α may be set to the range of 45°≦α≦80°. In addition, when the device body 2 is made compact, 60°≦α≦80° is preferable.

[0043] The medium on whose first side recording has been performed by the line head 44 is then conveyed further upward by the conveyor roller pair 32 positioned downstream of the conveyor belt 13 . A flap 41 is provided downstream of the transport roller pair 32, and the transport direction of the medium is switched by this flap 41. When the medium is to be discharged as is, the transport path of the medium is switched by the flap 41 to face the upper transport roller pair 35, and the medium is discharged by the transport roller pair 35 toward the discharge tray 8, which is an example of a medium placement section.

[0044] When recording is to be performed on the second side of the medium in addition to the first side, the transport direction of the medium is directed to branch position K1 by flap 41. The medium then passes through branch position K1 and enters switchback path T2. In this embodiment, switchback path T2 is the medium transport path above branch position K1. A pair of transport rollers 36, 37 is provided on switchback path T2. The medium that enters switchback path T2 is transported upward by the pair of transport rollers 36, 37, and when the bottom edge of the medium passes branch position K1, the rotation direction of the pair of transport rollers 36, 37 is switched, thereby transporting the medium downward.

[0045] A connection path T3 is connected to the switchback path T2. In this embodiment, the connection path T3 is a medium transport path that extends from the branch position K1 to the transport roller pair 34. A reversing path T4 is connected to the connection path T3. In this embodiment, the reversing path T4 is a medium transport path that extends from the transport roller pair 34 to the transport roller pair 31 through the transport roller pair 38. The reversing path T4 is a transport path upstream of a position facing the line head 44 and is located vertically below the line head 44.

[0046] The medium conveyed downward from branch position K1 receives a conveying force from conveying roller pairs 33 and 34, reaches conveying roller pair 38, is curved and reversed, and is sent to conveying roller pair 31. The medium is again sent to a position facing the line head 44, with the second side opposite the first side on which recording has already been performed facing the line head 44. This makes it possible for the line head 44 to record on the second side of the medium. The supply roller 19 and separation roller 20 provided near the transport roller pair 38 are a roller pair that feeds the medium from a supply tray not shown in FIG.

[0047] Next, the door portion 60 and the hinge portion 70 will be described. As shown in Figs. 1 to 3, a door portion 60 which is an openable / closable body is provided on the side surface in the -X direction of the device body 2, that is, on the right side surface. Between the door section 60 and the apparatus main body 2, a part of the switchback path T2, a connecting path T3, and a part of the reversing path T4 are formed. The door section 60 also forms the connecting path T3 and a part of the reversing path T4 inside. By opening the door section 60 as shown in the change from Figure 2 to Figure 3, the inside of the apparatus main body 2 is exposed, and as a result, a part of the switchback path T2, a part of the connecting path T3, and a part of the reversing path T4 are opened. 1, the -X direction rollers of the transport roller pairs 33, 36, and 37, the transport roller pair 34, the supply roller 19, the separation roller 20, and the +Z direction roller of the transport roller pair 38. When the door portion 60 is opened, the nips of the transport roller pairs 33, 36, 37, and 38 are released. In the above manner, if a jam occurs in the switchback path T2, the connection path T3, or the reversing path T4, the jammed medium can be removed by opening the door portion 60. In addition, in FIG. 1, the symbol Wa indicates the area occupied by the door portion 60 in the Z-axis direction.

[0048] The door unit 60 is rotatably connected to the device body 2 by a hinge unit 70 described later, and opens and closes with respect to the device body 2 by rotating. In this embodiment, the rotation axis of the door unit 60 is parallel to the Z-axis direction. In this embodiment, the door unit 60 is rotatably connected to the device body 2 at the end in the +Y direction, and rotates with the end in the -Y direction as a free end.

[0049] 4, the door section 60 is provided with a hook-shaped locking section 62, which is engaged with an interlocking section 45 provided on the device body 2, thereby locking the door section 60 in a closed state relative to the device body 2. The locking section 62 is provided rotatably about a rotation shaft 62a extending in the Z-axis direction, and the rotation of the rotation shaft 62a switches between a locked state shown in FIG. 4 and an unlocked state in which the door section 60 is separated from the interlocking section 45. Although a detailed configuration is not shown, the rotation shaft 62a can be rotated by operating an operating lever 63 (see FIG. 2) provided on the door section 60. Since the locking portion 62 is provided to keep the door portion 60 closed relative to the device body 2, the door portion 60 can be reliably kept closed.

[0050] Here, when the door section 60 is opened to perform the jam removal work, if the door section 60 closes due to its own weight, it becomes difficult to perform the jam removal work. In this embodiment, the rotation axis of the door section 60 is parallel to the Z-axis direction, and if the mounting surface G of the device body 2 is a horizontal plane, the door section 60 does not rotate in the closing direction due to its own weight when it is opened. However, if the device body 2 is placed in a state in which it is tilted in a direction in which the angle β shown in FIG. 1 increases, a moment that tries to close the door section 60 due to its own weight is generated when the door section 60 is opened. The angle β is the angle between the side surface of the device body 2 in the -X direction and the horizontal plane. Similarly, if the device body 2 is placed in a tilted position such that the angle γ (see Figure 2) between the +Y side of the device body 2 and the horizontal plane becomes larger, when the door section 60 is opened, a moment is generated in the door section 60 due to its own weight that tends to close it. Therefore, the hinge portion 70 that rotatably connects the door portion 60 to the device body 2 is configured to hold the door portion 60 in an open state.

[0051] The hinge portion 70 will be described in detail below. In this embodiment, a plurality of hinge portions 70 are provided along the Z-axis direction as shown in Figures 3 and 5, and in this embodiment, two hinge portions are provided as an example. Of course, this is just an example, and one hinge portion 70 may be provided, or three or more hinge portions may be provided. In FIG. 5, reference numeral 46 denotes an attachment frame that constitutes the device main body 2 , and the hinge portion 70 is first attached to the door main body 61 of the door portion 60 , and then fixed to the attachment frame 46 . As shown in Fig. 8, the hinge portion 70 includes a body-side hinge 72 fixed to the device body 2, a door-side hinge 71 fixed to the door portion 60, a rotating shaft 73, and a leaf spring 74. Note that Fig. 8 shows the state of the hinge portion 70 when the door portion 60 is closed.

[0052] The door side hinge 71 is fixed to the plate member 64 constituting the door main body 61 by three fixing screws 65 as shown in FIG. 7. The door side hinge 71 also has positioning holes 71b1 and 71b2. The plate member 64 is formed with positioning protrusions 64a and 64a, and the door side hinge 71 is positioned relative to the plate member 64 by fitting the positioning protrusions 64a and 64a into the positioning holes 71b1 and 71b2, respectively. The positioning hole 71b1 is an elongated hole along the Z-axis direction, unlike the positioning hole 71b2, and can absorb any slight deviation in the relative positions of the positioning hole 71b1 and the positioning protrusion 64a in the Z-axis direction. The positioning hole 71b2 is formed with a shape and size that allows the positioning protrusion 64a to fit into it with almost no rattle, and this allows the door side hinge 71 to be positioned in the direction along the surface of the plate member 64.

[0053] The body-side hinge 72 is fixed to the mounting frame 46 constituting the device body 2 by three fixing screws 47 as shown in Fig. 6. The body-side hinge 72 also has two positioning holes 72b. The mounting frame 46 has positioning protrusions 46b, 46b formed thereon, and the body-side hinge 72 is positioned in the Y-axis direction relative to the mounting frame 46 by fitting the positioning protrusions 46b, 46b into the positioning holes 72b, 72b, respectively. Note that the positioning hole 72b is an elongated hole along the Z-axis direction, and no positioning is achieved along the Z-axis direction. However, the positioning of the body-side hinge 72 in the Z-axis direction relative to the mounting frame 46 is achieved by a positioning portion 72h and an elongated hole 46c (see Fig. 7), which will be described later.

[0054] Each member constituting the hinge portion 70 will be described in detail below. The main body side hinge 72 can be made of a metal plate material, for example, SPCC (Steel Plate Cold Commercial). As shown in Fig. 9, the main body side hinge 72 has three screw insertion holes 72a, through which the fixing screws 47 (see Fig. 6) are inserted. The body-side hinge 72 has body-side shaft insertion portions 72c formed at both ends in the Z-axis direction so as to rise in the -X direction from plate surfaces 72k, which are the surfaces of the metal plate material. A shaft insertion hole 72d is formed in the body-side shaft insertion portion 72c, and a rotating shaft 73 (see FIG. 8) is inserted through the shaft insertion hole 72d.

[0055] Furthermore, the main body side hinge 72 has recesses 72e at both ends in the Z-axis direction. A hook portion 74b (see FIG. 11) of a leaf spring 74 described later can be hooked onto this recess 72e, thereby making it possible to temporarily fix the leaf spring 74 to the main body side hinge 72. That is, the recess 72e functions as a spring holding portion for temporarily fixing the leaf spring 74 to the main body side hinge 72. Incidentally, a positioning hole 72j is provided in the main body side hinge 72, and the hook portion 74c (see FIG. 11) of the leaf spring 74 fits into this positioning hole 72j. This allows the position of the leaf spring 74 relative to the main body side hinge 72 to be determined more accurately. The main body side hinge 72 also has a bent portion 72f formed by bending the edge in the -Y direction to the +X direction. The details of this bent portion 72f will be described later.

[0056] Next, the door side hinge 71 shown in Fig. 10 can be formed from a metal plate material, and as an example, it can be formed from SPCC (Steel Plate Cold Commercial). As shown in Fig. 10, three screw insertion holes 71a are formed in the door side hinge 71, and the fixing screws 65 (see Fig. 7) are inserted into the screw insertion holes 71a. Note that the door side hinge 71 rotates together with the door part 60, but the XYZ coordinate system shown in Fig. 10 is for a state in which the door part 60 is closed, and the configuration of the door side hinge 71 will be described below using the XYZ coordinate system shown in Fig. 10.

[0057] The door-side hinge 71 has door-side shaft insertion portions 71c formed at both ends in the Z-axis direction so as to rise in the -X direction from plate surfaces 71k, which are the surfaces of the metal plate material. A shaft insertion hole 71d is formed in the door-side shaft insertion portion 71c, and a rotating shaft 73 (see FIG. 8) is inserted through the shaft insertion hole 71d. The door-side hinge 71 and the main body-side hinge 72 are connected to each other rotatably via the rotating shaft 73. An engagement portion 71e is formed at the end of the door-side shaft insertion portion 71c in the +Y direction so as to protrude in the +Y direction. That is, the outer surface of the portion where the shaft insertion hole 71d is formed has the engagement portion 71e as a portion where the outer diameter is larger in addition to the portion where the distance from the center of the shaft insertion hole 71d, i.e., the outer diameter, is the same. This portion where the outer diameter is larger is shown by hatching in Figures 14 to 19. The engagement portion 71e is the hatched area in Figures 14 to 19. The portion of the engagement portion 71e where the outer diameter is larger, that is, the portion with the largest outer diameter, is the apex of the engagement portion 71e.

[0058] Next, the leaf spring 74 shown in Fig. 11 can be formed from a metal plate material, and as an example, can be formed from SUS (Steel Use Stainless). Two screw insertion holes 74a are formed in the leaf spring 74, and the fixing screws 47 (see Fig. 6) are passed through the screw insertion holes 74a. That is, the leaf spring 74 is fixed together with the main body side hinge 72 by the fixing screws 47.

[0059] The leaf spring 74 has protrusions 74d formed on both ends in the Z-axis direction so as to protrude in the -Y direction. Reference numeral 74f denotes a free end, and reference numeral 74e denotes a fixed end, and the protrusions 74d are located between the free end 74f and the fixed end 74e in the Y-axis direction. The protrusions 74d, together with the engagement portion 71e described above, constitute the door holding portion 70a (FIGS. 14 to 19) that holds the door portion 60 in a state where it is opened at a predetermined angle or more relative to the device body 2.

[0060] 12, the mounting frame 46 constituting the device main body 2 has three screw holes 46a for fixing the main body side hinge 72 with fixing screws 47 (see FIG. 6) formed therein. The mounting frame 46 also has the above-mentioned positioning protrusions 46b formed therein. Next, the mounting frame 46 is formed with a slot 46c extending in the Z-axis direction.

[0061] Here, the relationship between the bent portion 72f provided on the main body side hinge 72 and the elongated hole 46c formed in the mounting frame 46 will be described. The bottom surface of the elongated hole 46c functions as a support surface 46d, and supports a positioning portion 72h of the bent portion 72f as shown in FIG.

[0062] 13, the bent portion 72f is bent in a direction intersecting with a plate surface 72k on which the leaf spring 74 is provided in the body-side hinge 72, i.e., in the +X direction. The bent portion 72f has a connection portion 72g connected to the plate surface 72k, and a positioning portion 72h extending from the connection portion 72g in the -Z direction. The lower surface Sb of the positioning portion 72h is supported by a support surface 46d of an elongated hole 46c formed in the mounting frame 46, thereby positioning the body-side hinge 72 in the vertical direction. Furthermore, the lower surface Sb supported by the support surface 46d is the lower surface of a portion formed to protrude in the -X direction, which allows the positioning portion 72h to fully engage with the support surface 46d of the elongated hole 46c as shown in Figure 6.

[0063] The above-described configuration provides the following advantages. First, the positioning portion 72h determines the position of the main body side hinge 72 in the vertical direction, improving the positional accuracy of the main body side hinge 72 in the vertical direction. In addition, during assembly work, the main body side hinge 72 and, ultimately, the door portion 60 can be temporarily fixed before being fixed with the screws, making the assembly work easier. Next, the portion of bent portion 72f that is bent in a direction intersecting with plate surface 72k is difficult to achieve positional accuracy due to deformation, and if this portion, specifically the portion indicated by reference symbol Sa, were used as a positioning portion, the vertical position of main body side hinge 72 would easily become misaligned. However, as described above, positioning portion 72h is provided at a portion extending from connecting portion 72g, and therefore the vertical position of main body side hinge 72 can be determined more accurately.

[0064] Next, the door holding portion 70a configured by the convex portion 74d of the leaf spring 74 and the engaging portion 71e of the door side hinge 71 will be described in detail. As shown in Figure 14, the convex portion 74d of the leaf spring 74 is shaped to protrude in the +X direction from the plate surface 72k of the main body side hinge 72, and the amount of protrusion is set so that it can engage with the engagement portion 71e of the door side hinge 71. Both sides of the convex portion 74d in the Y-axis direction are in contact with the plate surface 72k, and the region from the fixed end 74e to the convex portion 74d and the region from the free end 74f to the convex portion 74d are in contact with the plate surface 72k.

[0065] The protruding portion 74d has a first inclined surface 74h that is inclined from the top portion 74g toward the free end 74f, and a second inclined surface 74j that is inclined from the top portion 74g toward the fixed end 74e. In this embodiment, the first inclined surface 74h and the second inclined surface 74j do not include any curved surfaces and are formed as flat surfaces. Reference symbol A1 indicates the range of the first inclined surface 74h in the Y-axis direction, and reference symbol A2 indicates the range of the second inclined surface 74j in the Y-axis direction, and the curved section including the apex 74g is not included in the first inclined surface 74h and the second inclined surface 74j. However, the first inclined surface 74h and the second inclined surface 74j may include a curved surface.

[0066] 14 shows the state of the hinge part 70 when the door part 60 is completely closed. In this state, the engagement part 71e is not engaged with the protrusion part 74d. In this state, the top of the engagement part 71e is located in the +Y direction further than the top 74g of the protrusion part 74d. When the door part 60 is opened from this state, the engaging part 71e presses against the convex part 74d as shown in Fig. 15. When the door part 60 is further opened from this state, the engaging part 71e presses down the convex part 74d, and the top of the engaging part 71e passes over the top part 74g of the convex part 74d in the -Y direction as shown in Fig. 16. At this time, because the free end 74f is not restrained in the Y-axis direction, when the engaging part 71e presses down the convex part 74d, the free end 74f moves in the -Y direction while sliding against the plate surface 72k. When the door part 60 is further opened, the engaging part 71e completely overcomes the convex part 74d in the -Y direction as shown in Fig. 17. However, the maximum opening angle of the door part 60 may be an angle at which the engaging part 71e does not completely overcome the convex part 74d in the -Y direction. In other words, the maximum opening angle of the door part 60 may be an angle at which the engaging part 71e maintains contact with the convex part 74d. When the door portion 60 tries to close from this state, the engaging portion 71e receives a reaction force from the protruding portion 74d, so that the door portion 60 is maintained in the open state.

[0067] 18 shows the state when the engaging portion 71e comes into contact with the protruding portion 74d as the door portion 60 is about to rotate counterclockwise as shown by the outlined arrow, i.e., to close. The angle θ0 indicates the opening angle of the door portion 60 at that time. At the point when the engaging portion 71e comes into contact with the protruding portion 74d, the moment due to the weight of the door portion 60 exceeds the force of the door holder 70a holding the door portion 60 in the open state, so the door portion 60 further rotates counterclockwise in Fig. 18. However, the force of the door holder 70a holding the door portion 60 in the open state eventually balances the moment due to the weight of the door portion 60, so that the door portion 60 is held in the open state. The angle θ1 in Fig. 18 is the angle at that time. The door holder 70a holds the door 60 in a state where it is opened at a predetermined angle or more relative to the device body 2, and the angle θ1 is an example of the predetermined angle.

[0068] The predetermined angle is preferably equal to or greater than 60°. This allows the door 60 to be kept open at an angle equal to or greater than the predetermined angle, facilitating access to the device body 2 during jamming clearance or the like. Incidentally, if the predetermined angle is set to 80° or more, access to the device body 2 becomes even easier. Of course, access to the device body 2 may be made even easier by setting the predetermined angle to 90° or more as shown in Fig. 18. The angle θ1 in Fig. 18 shows the case where the predetermined angle is 110°.

[0069] As described above, the door holding portion 70a has a flat leaf spring 74 and an engagement portion 71e. The leaf spring 74 has a fixed end 74e, a free end 74f that is slidable relative to the device main body 2, and a convex portion 74d that is located between the fixed end 74e and the free end 74f and that applies a spring force to the engagement portion 71e to hold the door portion 60 open at or above a predetermined angle. This allows the door portion 60 to be kept open, facilitating access to the device body 2 during jamming clearance and other operations.

[0070] Furthermore, if the door holding portion 70a is configured with, for example, a torsion coil spring, and the torsion coil spring constantly applies a force in the opening direction to the door portion 60, the load applied to the door portion 60 when the door portion 60 is closed increases, and there is a risk of defects such as deformation of the door portion 60. However, by configuring the door holding portion 70a with a leaf spring 74, the above-mentioned defects can be suppressed.

[0071] Furthermore, since the leaf spring 74 is a flat member having a free end 74f and a fixed end 74e, the space required to install the members for holding the door portion 60 in the open position can be reduced, thereby preventing the device from becoming larger.

[0072] In addition, if the free end 74f is provided in a free state in the direction of moving forward and backward relative to the engagement portion 71e, it becomes difficult to determine the position of the protrusion 74d relative to the engagement portion 71e. If the protrusion 74d moves away from the engagement portion 71e, the holding force for holding the door portion 60 in the open state will be insufficient. Conversely, if the protrusion 74d approaches the engagement portion 71e, a large operating force will be required to close the door portion 60, or excessive force will be applied to the leaf spring 74, which may cause plastic deformation of the leaf spring 74. However, in this embodiment, the free end 74f of the leaf spring 74 is configured to slide relative to the device body 2, so that the position of the protrusion 74d relative to the engagement portion 71e is easily determined. As a result, a holding force for holding the door portion 60 in the open state can be appropriately obtained. If a holding force for holding the door portion 60 in the open state can be appropriately obtained, the open state of the door portion 60 can be reliably maintained. In addition, it is possible to suppress an unintentional increase in the load when opening and closing the door portion 60, and further, it is possible to prevent the leaf spring 74 from being subjected to an excessive force, which would cause the leaf spring 74 to undergo plastic deformation.

[0073] In this embodiment, the free end 74f slides to release the deformation of the protrusion 74d when the door part 60 is opened, but the free end 74f may slide to release the deformation of the protrusion 74d when the door part 60 is closed. Specifically, the fixed end 74e may be the free end, and the free end 74f may be the fixed end.

[0074] 1, in this embodiment, when viewed in a direction perpendicular to the door portion 60, i.e., the -X direction, the door portion 60 overlaps with the line head 44, the first media cassette 3, and the discharge tray 8. In other words, at least a portion of the line head 44, the first media cassette 3, and at least a portion of the discharge tray 8 are included within the range of the area Wa occupied by the door portion 60 in the Z axis direction. In such a configuration, the door section 60 becomes larger and heavier, which may make it difficult to maintain the open state. However, the door holder 70a described above allows the door section 60 to be properly maintained in the open state. In this embodiment, the entire line head 44, a part of the first media cassette 3, and the entire discharge tray 8 are included within the area Wa occupied by the door portion 60 in the Z-axis direction, but this is not limited thereto, and the entire line head 44, the entire first media cassette 3, and the entire discharge tray 8 may be included within the area Wa occupied by the door portion 60. Alternatively, the entire line head 44, the entire first media cassette 3, and the entire discharge tray 8 may be included within the area Wa.

[0075] In this embodiment, the door section 60 has a door main body 61 and a door side hinge 71, the device main body 2 has an attachment frame 46 and a main body side hinge 72, the leaf spring 74 is provided on the main body side hinge 72, and the engagement portion 71e is provided on the door side hinge 71. However, the leaf spring 74 may be provided on the door side hinge 71, and the engagement portion 71e may be provided on the main body side hinge 72. Moreover, the door side hinge 71 may be integrally formed with the door portion 60. For example, the door side hinge 71 may be integrally formed with the plate member 64 (FIG. 7). Similarly, the main body side hinge 72 may be configured integrally with the device main body 2. For example, the main body side hinge 72 may be configured integrally with the mounting frame 46 (FIG. 12). Furthermore, the leaf spring 74 may be provided directly on the device body 2 or the door portion 60 independent of the hinge portion 70, and similarly, the engagement portion 71e may be provided directly on the door portion 60 or the device body 2 independent of the hinge portion 70.

[0076] Incidentally, by providing the leaf spring 74 on the main body side hinge 72 and the engagement portion 71e on the door side hinge 71 as in this embodiment, the following operational effects can be obtained. That is, since the fixed end 74e and the free end 74f of the leaf spring 74 are supported, if a supporting portion is provided on the rotating side, i.e., the door portion 60, the rotating side, i.e., the door portion 60, tends to become large. However, in this embodiment, the leaf spring 74 is provided on the main body side hinge 72, and the engaging portion 71e is provided on the door side hinge 71, so that the door portion 60 can be prevented from becoming large.

[0077] In this embodiment, the leaf spring 74 is fixed to the body side hinge 72 by the fixing screw 47 (see FIG. 6) that fixes the body side hinge 72. This eliminates the need for a dedicated process for fixing the leaf spring 74, improving workability and contributing to cost reduction. Incidentally, when fixing the leaf spring 74 to the door side hinge 71, the leaf spring 74 can also be fixed to the door side hinge 71 by the fixing screw 65 (see FIG. 7) that fixes the door side hinge 71 to the door part 60.

[0078] In this embodiment, the main body side hinge 72 has a recess 72e (see FIG. 9) as a spring holding portion for temporarily fixing the leaf spring 74 to a fixed position. This improves the workability when fixing the leaf spring 74 to one side of the main body side hinge 72. When the leaf spring 74 is fixed to the door side hinge 71, the door side hinge 71 may be provided with a recess similar to the recess 72e.

[0079] 14, in this embodiment, the protrusion 74d is disposed between the rotating shaft 73 and the main body side hinge 72. In this manner, the protrusion 74d is disposed by utilizing the space between the rotating shaft 73 and the main body side hinge 72, so that the device can be made more compact. When the leaf spring 74 is provided on the door side hinge 71, the protrusion 74d can be disposed between the rotation shaft 73 and the door side hinge 71.

[0080] In this embodiment, the door-side hinge 71 has a door-side shaft insertion portion 71c through which the rotating shaft 73 is inserted, and the engagement portion 71e is provided in the door-side shaft insertion portion 71c. This allows the device to be made smaller than a configuration in which the engagement portion 71e is provided exclusively.

[0081] In this embodiment, a plurality of door holding portions 70a are provided along the axial direction of the rotation shaft 73. More specifically, in this embodiment, two door holding portions 70a are provided in one hinge portion 70. And, since two hinge portions 70 are provided in this embodiment, four door holding portions 70a are provided. This makes it possible to more reliably maintain the door portion 60 in the open state. However, one door holding portion 70a may be provided in one hinge portion 70, or three or more door holding portions 70a may be provided. Furthermore, when a plurality of hinge portions 70 are provided, it is not necessary for all of the hinge portions 70 to have the door holding portions 70a, and only some of the hinge portions 70 may have the door holding portions 70a.

[0082] In this embodiment, when the door part 60 is opened by a predetermined angle or more as shown in Fig. 16 or 17, the engagement part 71e is located on the free end 74f side of the top 74g of the protrusion 74d. With this configuration, when the door part 60 is opened, the deformation of the protrusion 74d can be released to the free end 74f side. As a result, the load when the door part 60 is opened can be reduced.

[0083] Next, the inclination angles of the first inclined surface 74h and the second inclined surface 74j will be described with reference to FIG. In Fig. 18, reference symbol P1 is the axial center of the rotation shaft 73. Reference symbol P2 is the point of contact when the engaging portion 71e comes into contact with the convex portion 74d as the door portion 60 rotates in the closing direction from a state in which the door portion 60 is opened at an angle greater than a predetermined angle and the engaging portion 71e is not in contact with the convex portion 74d, as shown in Fig. 17 as an example. Line L1 is a line connecting the shaft center P1 and the abutting point P2, and line L2 is a line perpendicular to line L1. Symbol e3 is the angle between line L2 and the first inclined surface 74h. In this embodiment, the angle e3 is less than 45°.

[0084] This provides the following effects. That is, when the engaging portion 71e overcomes the convex portion 74d from the fixed end 74e side to the free end 74f side, the free end 74f slides and the engaging portion 71e overcomes the convex portion 74d easily, but when the engaging portion 71e overcomes the convex portion 74d from the free end 74f side to the fixed end 74e side, the convex portion 74d tries to deform in the opposite direction to the sliding direction of the free end 74f, i.e., toward the fixed end 74e side, so a large resistance force is generated. This resistance force is indicated by an arrow F in FIG. 19. The arrow fs is a component of the resistance force F that is parallel to the first inclined surface 74h, and the arrow fv is a component of the resistance force F that is perpendicular to the first inclined surface 74h. When the angle e3 is reduced, the component force fs parallel to the first inclined surface 74h becomes large, and the component force fv perpendicular to the first inclined surface 74h becomes small. That is, by making the angle e3 smaller than 45°, the component force fv perpendicular to the first inclined surface 74h of the resistance force F can be suppressed, and the door part 60 can be closed with a light force. In addition, it is possible to suppress the leaf spring 74 from being plastically deformed due to the engagement part 71e being unable to overcome the protrusion 74d.

[0085] 18, the reference character e1 denotes the inclination angle of the first inclined surface 74h, i.e., the angle between the plate surface 72k and the first inclined surface 74h, and the reference character e2 denotes the inclination angle of the second inclined surface 74j, i.e., the angle between the plate surface 72k and the second inclined surface 74j. The inclination angle e1 is preferably smaller than the inclination angle e2. This makes it possible to suppress the resistance force F, and to close the door part 60 with a light force. In addition, it is possible to suppress the leaf spring 74 from being plastically deformed due to the engagement part 71e being unable to overcome the protrusion 74d. However, the inclination angle e1 may be the same as the inclination angle e2, or the inclination angle e1 may be larger than the inclination angle e2.

[0086] In the embodiment described above, as described with reference to FIG. 14, when the door part 60 is closed, the top of the engagement part 71e is located in the +Y direction from the top 74g of the convex part 74d, and when the door part 60 is opened, the top of the engagement part 71e passes over the top 74g of the convex part 74d in the -Y direction. However, the present invention is not limited to this configuration, and may be configured such that the top of the engagement part 71e does not pass over the top 74g of the convex part 740d in the -Y direction, as shown in FIG. 19. In the configuration shown in FIG. 19, the engagement part 71e is configured to be in contact only with the top 74g of the convex part 740d in the -Y direction, that is, the first inclined surface 74h. Even with this configuration, the same effects as those of the above-mentioned embodiment can be obtained.

[0087] In the above embodiment, the entire leaf spring 74 shown in Fig. 11 is described as a leaf spring, but the region involved in applying the spring force, i.e., the region extending in the Y-axis direction from the fixed end 74e to the free end 74f, can also be considered as a leaf spring. In this case, the leaf spring 74 shown in Fig. 11 has two leaf springs, and the two leaf springs can be considered as being connected by the portion where the screw insertion hole 74a and the hook portion 74c are formed.
