DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0010] An embodiment of the present disclosure will be described in detail below with reference to the drawings. The configurations, shapes, etc. described below are examples for the purpose of explanation, and can be appropriately changed according to the specifications of the component mounting device, the component supply unit (component supply device), etc.
[0011] In the following, corresponding elements in all drawings are given the same reference numerals, and duplicated explanations are omitted. In Fig. 1 and some parts described later, the X direction (left-right direction in Fig. 1) in the board transport direction and the Y direction (up-down direction in Fig. 1) perpendicular to the board transport direction are shown as two axial directions perpendicular to each other in a horizontal plane. In Fig. 2, the Z direction (up-down direction in Fig. 2) is shown as a height direction perpendicular to the horizontal plane. The Z direction is the vertical direction when the component mounting device is installed on a horizontal plane, or the direction perpendicular to the horizontal plane.
[0012] First, the configuration of the component mounting device 1 will be described with reference to Figs. 1 and 2. The component mounting device 1 has a function of mounting components on a board B. In Fig. 1, the component mounting device 1 is configured to include a component mounting device main body 2 including a base 2a, and a cart 6 attached to the component mounting device main body 2. A board transport unit 3 is installed in the X direction at the center of the base 2a of the component mounting device main body 2. The board transport unit 3 transports the board B carried in from the upstream side in the X direction, and positions and holds it at a mounting operation position by a mounting head 9 described below. In addition, the board transport unit 3 carries out the board B, on which the component mounting operation has been completed, to the downstream side.
[0013] 1 and 2, a carriage mounting section 4 is provided on both sides of the board transport section 3 of the component mounting device main body section 2. A carriage 6 is attached to each carriage mounting section 4. A plurality of component supply units 5 are mounted in parallel in the X direction on the carriage 6. The component supply units 5 feed the carrier tape T, on which pockets for storing components are formed, in a pitch direction from the outside of the carriage mounting section 4 toward the board transport section 3 (tape feed direction), thereby supplying components to a component removal position where the mounting head 9 picks up the components. In other words, the component supply units 5 are a component supply device that supplies components stored in the carrier tape T.
[0014] In Fig. 1, a Y-axis table 7 equipped with a linear drive mechanism is disposed on both ends in the X direction on the upper surface of a base 2a of the component mounting device main body 2. A beam 8 similarly equipped with a linear mechanism is connected to the Y-axis table 7 so as to be freely movable in the Y direction. A mounting head 9 is attached to the beam 8 so as to be freely movable in the X direction. A suction nozzle 9a (see Fig. 2) that vacuum-sucks and holds a component is attached to the lower end of the mounting head 9.
[0015] The Y-axis table 7 and beam 8 move the mounting head 9 horizontally (X direction, Y direction). The mounting head 9 picks up and adsorbs components supplied from the component supply unit 5 mounted on the cart 6 attached to the cart mounting section 4 using a suction nozzle 9a, and mounts the components at the mounting positions on the board B positioned in the board transport section 3. The Y-axis table 7, beam 8, and mounting head 9 constitute a component mounting section 10 that transfers and mounts the components onto the board B by moving the mounting head 9 holding the components.
[0016] 2, a component supply unit mounting section 6a is provided on the top of the cart 6. The component supply unit 5 is mounted on a mounting base 6b formed on the top surface of the component supply unit mounting section 6a. A component reel 11 around which a carrier tape T for storing components is wound is held on the rear side of the cart 6 (the side opposite to the component mounting device main body section 2). The component supply unit 5 transports the carrier tape T stored in the component reel 11 in the tape feed direction to supply components to a component removal position by the mounting head 9.
[0017] A power supply unit 12 and a placement control unit 13 are disposed on the base 2a of the component mounting device main body 2. The component supply unit 5 mounted on the cart 6 is connected to the power supply unit 12 and the placement control unit 13 via the component supply unit mounting unit 6a. That is, the component supply unit 5 mounted on the component mounting device 1 is supplied with power from the power supply unit 12, and various commands are transmitted from the placement control unit 13.
[0018] In this manner, the component supply unit mounting section 6a installed on the cart 6 attached to the component mounting device main body 2 of the component mounting device 1 is a component supply section C (see FIG. 11) to which a plurality of component supply units 5 that supply components are detachably mounted. In addition, the component supply units 5 mounted on the component supply section C are component supply devices that supply components to the component mounting device 1 that mounts the components on the board B.
[0019] Next, a detailed configuration of the component supply unit mounting section 6a (component supply section C) installed on the trolley 6 will be described with reference to Figures 3 and 4. On the rear surface of the component supply unit mounting section 6a, a plurality of mounting section connectors 14, mounting section air joints 15, and mounting section attitude stabilizing pins 16 are arranged in correspondence with the component supply units 5 mounted on the mounting base 6b. The mounting section connectors 14 are connected to a first connector 22 provided on the component supply unit 5. The mounting section air joints 15 are connected to an air joint 23 provided on the component supply unit 5. The mounting section attitude stabilizing pins 16 are inserted into pin insertion holes 24 formed on the component supply unit 5.
[0020] On the upper surface of the mounting base 6b formed on the upper part of the component supply unit mounting portion 6a, a plurality of guides 17 extending in the mounting direction of the component supply units 5 and a first position restricting portion 18 are arranged in correspondence with the plurality of component supply units 5 mounted on the mounting base 6b. When mounting the component supply unit 5 on the mounting base 6b, the slider 25 of the component supply unit 5 slides along the guide 17. The first position restricting portion 18 restricts the height position of the component supply unit 5 mounted on the mounting base 6b.
[0021] 3 and 4, a plurality of fixed arms 19 are arranged on the rear surface of the mounting base 6b corresponding to the plurality of component supply units 5 mounted on the mounting base 6b. The fixed arms 19 engage with hooks 26 provided on the component supply units 5 to fix the component supply units 5 mounted on the mounting base 6b. A plate-shaped attitude stabilizing member 20 is arranged upright on the front side of the upper surface of the mounting base 6b. A second position restricting portion 21 is arranged behind the attitude stabilizing member 20, between the attitude stabilizing member 20 and the guide 17.
[0022] A plurality of posture stabilizing member insertion holes 20a are formed in the upper part of the rear surface of the posture stabilizing member 20, corresponding to the plurality of component supply units 5 mounted on the mounting base 6b. A position restricting part insertion hole 21a is formed in the rear surface of the second position restricting part 21, corresponding to the component supply units 5 mounted on the mounting base 6b. A posture stabilizing pin 27 and a position restricting pin 28 formed on the component supply unit 5 are inserted into the posture stabilizing member insertion hole 20a and the position restricting part insertion hole 21a, respectively.
[0023] Next, the detailed configuration of the component supply unit 5 (component supply device) will be described with reference to Fig. 4. The component supply unit 5 includes a main body 5a, a connection part 5b located on the lower rear side of the main body 5a, and a discharge part 5c located on the upper front side of the main body 5a. A feeder control part 29 that controls each part of the component supply unit 5 is disposed inside the connection part 5b.
[0024] On the front surface of the connection part 5b, a hook 26 with which the fixed arm 19 engages, an air joint 23 connected to the mounting part air joint 15, a first connector 22 connected to the mounting part connector 14, and a pin insertion hole 24 into which the mounting part attitude stabilizing pin 16 is inserted are arranged in this order from top to bottom. On the rear surface of the connection part 5b, a second connector 30 is arranged to be connected to a third connector 41 (see FIG. 7A) provided on an expansion unit (autoload unit 40) described later.
[0025] In Fig. 4, a posture stabilizing pin 27 inserted into the posture stabilizing member insertion hole 20a is disposed on the upper side of the front surface of the discharge portion 5c. A slider 25 that slides along the guide 17 is disposed on the front side of the lower surface of the main body portion 5a. A position regulating pin 28 inserted into the position regulating member insertion hole 21a is disposed on the lower side of the front surface of the main body portion 5a. A concave connected portion 5d is formed on a part of the rear surface of the main body portion 5a and the connection portion 5b, into which a connecting portion 42 (see Fig. 7A) formed on the expansion unit (autoload unit 40) engages. The connected portion 5d and the second connector 30 constitute the expansion unit mounting portion 31 to which the expansion unit is mounted.
[0026] A transport path 32 is provided inside the main body 5a to guide the carrier tape T pulled out from the component reel 11 and taken into the component supply unit 5. The transport path 32 is provided to communicate from an insertion opening 32a opening in the rear surface of the main body 5a on the upstream side (left side in FIG. 4) in the tape feed direction of the component supply unit 5 to an ejection opening 32b opening in the bottom surface of the ejection section 5c on the downstream side (right side in FIG. 4) in the tape feed direction. A component removal position P where components are removed by the mounting head 9 is provided midway along the transport path 32.
[0027] 4, inside the main body 5a, below the downstream side of the transport path 32, multiple sprockets 34 are arranged which are rotated by a carrier tape transport motor 33 arranged inside the main body 5a. In this example, three sprockets 34 are arranged from the upstream side: an introduction sprocket 34 for transport and an exit sprocket 34 for carrying out. The component removal position P is set between the sprockets 34 for transport and the exit sprocket 34.
[0028] A cover tape peeling unit 35 including a pair of rollers is disposed above the conveying path 32 between the introduction and conveying sprockets 34. A cover tape storage unit 36 is formed inside the main body 5a and upstream of the cover tape peeling unit 35. A tape detection sensor 37 that detects the carrier tape T inserted into the conveying path 32 is disposed upstream of the introduction sprocket 34 in the conveying path 32. The detection result by the tape detection sensor 37 is transmitted to the feeder control unit 29. The carrier tape conveying motor 33 and the cover tape peeling unit 35 are controlled by the feeder control unit 29.
[0029] Next, the process of mounting the component supply unit 5 to the component supply unit mounting section 6a (component supply section C) of the dolly 6 will be described with reference to Figures 5A, 5B, and 6. First, the slider 25 of the component supply unit 5 is aligned with the height of the guide 17 of the mounting base 6b, and the component supply unit 5 is moved from the rear of the dolly 6 toward the component supply unit mounting section 6a (arrow a in Figure 5A). Furthermore, while sliding the slider 25 along the guide 17, the component supply unit 5 is moved to the front of the component supply unit mounting section 6a (arrow b in Figure 5B).
[0030] 6, with the front surface of the main body 5a of the component supply unit 5 abutting against the rear surface of the second position restriction portion 21, the attitude stabilizing pin 27 is inserted into the attitude stabilizing member insertion hole 20a, the position restriction pin 28 is inserted into the position restriction portion insertion hole 21a, and the mounting portion attitude stabilizing pin 16 is inserted into the pin insertion hole 24. Furthermore, the fixed arm 19 engages with the hook 26, completing the mounting of the component supply unit 5 to the component supply unit mounting portion 6a. At this time, the mounting portion air joint 15 and the air joint 23 are connected, and the mounting portion connector 14 and the first connector 22 are connected.
[0031] The component supply unit 5 is mounted on the component supply unit mounting portion 6a, and the slider 25 abuts against the first position restriction portion 18, thereby determining the position in the height direction (Z direction). The component supply unit 5 is mounted on the component supply unit mounting portion 6a, and the main body portion 5a abuts against the second position restriction portion 21, thereby determining the position in the mounting direction (Y direction when the cart 6 is mounted on the component mounting device main body portion 2). The component supply unit 5 is suppressed from being displaced (vibrated) around the axis in the mounting direction by inserting the posture stabilizing pin 27 into the posture stabilizing member insertion hole 20a and inserting the mounting portion posture stabilizing pin 16 into the pin insertion hole 24.
[0032] 2 and 6, when the cart 6 on which the component supply unit 5 is mounted is attached to the component mounting device main body 2, the power supply unit 12 of the component mounting device 1 is connected to the component supply unit 5 via the mounting unit connector 14 and the first connector 22. This allows power to be supplied from the power supply unit 12 to the component supply unit 5. In addition, the mounting control unit 13 of the component mounting device 1 is connected to the feeder control unit 29 of the component supply unit 5 via the mounting unit connector 14 and the first connector 22. This allows various commands and information to be transmitted and received between the mounting control unit 13 and the feeder control unit 29. In addition, air can be supplied to the component supply unit 5 from the component mounting device main body 2 via the mounting unit air joint 15 and the air joint 23.
[0033] Next, the transportation of the carrier tape T in the component supply unit 5 will be described with reference to Figures 2 and 6. When the leading end of the carrier tape T inserted into the transport path 32 from the insertion port 32a is detected by the tape detection sensor 37, the feeder control unit 29 drives the carrier tape transport motor 33 to rotate the multiple sprockets 34. As a result, the inserted carrier tape T is tape-fed to the component removal position P by the introduction and transport sprockets 34.
[0034] While the leading end of the carrier tape T is transferred from the introduction sprocket 34 to the transport sprocket 34, the cover tape attached to the upper surface of the carrier tape T is peeled off by the cover tape peeling unit 35. The peeled off cover tape is collected in the cover tape storage unit 36. The carrier tape T from which the components have been removed at the component removal position P is pushed out from the discharge port 32b by the unloading sprocket 34. The used carrier tape T from which the components have been removed and which has been pushed out from the discharge port 32b is collected in a used carrier tape recovery unit (not shown) installed on the dolly 6.
[0035] In FIG. 2, when the component supply unit 5 (hereinafter simply referred to as the "normal feeder") has no expansion unit (auto-load unit 40) attached to the expansion unit mounting section 31, when the remaining length of the carrier tape T it is supplying becomes short (when there are few components), it performs a component replenishment operation (splicing) in which the front end of the trailing carrier tape T (hereinafter simply referred to as the "trailing tape T2") is joined to the rear end of the leading carrier tape T (hereinafter simply referred to as the "leading tape T1") using a splicing tape.
[0036] Next, an expansion unit that is attached to the component supply unit 5 for use will be described with reference to Figures 7A and 7B. Here, an auto load unit 40 out of the expansion units will be described as an example. In Figure 7A, a third connector 41 that connects to the second connector 30 of the component supply unit 5 is disposed on the lower side of the front surface of the auto load unit 40. A convex coupling portion 42 that engages with the coupled portion 5d of the component supply unit 5 is formed on the upper side of the front surface of the auto load unit 40.
[0037] That is, the connected portion 5d is a fixing portion that fixes the attached expansion unit to the component supply unit 5 (component supply device). The connecting portion 42 and the connected portion 5d are not limited to a concave and convex shape as long as they can fix the expansion unit to the component supply unit 5. An extended transport path 43 that guides the carrier tape T pulled out from the component reel 11 and taken into the auto load unit 40 is provided inside the auto load unit 40. The extended transport path 43 is provided in communication from an extended insertion port 43a that opens on the rear surface of the auto load unit 40 to an extended discharge port 43b that opens on the front surface.
[0038] 7B, when the auto load unit 40 is attached from the rear of the component supply unit 5 so that the connecting portion 42 engages with the connected portion 5d of the component supply unit 5, the second connector 30 and the third connector 41 are connected. That is, the connecting portion 42 and the third connector 41 are connected to the extension unit mounting portion 31 (connected portion 5d, second connector 30) of the component supply unit 5. In this state, the extended conveying path 43 of the auto load unit 40 is connected to the conveying path 32 of the component supply unit 5, and the running path of the carrier tape T is connected from the extended insertion opening 43a to the discharge opening 32b.
[0039] Next, referring to Fig. 8, the function of the component supply unit 5 with the auto load unit 40 attached to the extension unit attachment section 31 (hereinafter simply referred to as "auto load feeder AF") will be described. With the auto load feeder AF, while components are being supplied from the leading tape T1 to the component removal position P, a following tape T2 for replenishing components can be attached from the extension insertion port 43a. When the leading tape T1 runs out of stock, the auto load feeder AF with the following tape T2 attached automatically loads the following tape T2 in place of the leading tape T1 toward the component removal position P.
[0040] Next, the configuration of the tape changing mechanism 44 installed inside the auto-loading unit 40 will be described with reference to Fig. 9. The tape changing mechanism 44 is configured to include an extension sprocket 45, a motor 46 that rotates and drives the extension sprocket 45, a block 47, and a lever 48. The extension sprocket 45 is installed above the extension conveying path 43, and has the function of feeding the carrier tape T inserted into the extension conveying path 43 in the tape feeding direction. When the auto-loading unit 40 is attached to the component supplying unit 5, the motor 46 is connected to the feeder control unit 29 via the third connector 41 and the second connector 30, and is controlled by the feeder control unit 29.
[0041] A one-way clutch 49 is disposed on the drive shaft of the extension sprocket 45, which is rotated by the motor 46. The one-way clutch 49 allows the extension sprocket 45 to rotate in the direction (arrow c) in which the extension sprocket 45 rotates when the carrier tape T inserted from the extension insertion port 43a moves in the tape feed direction, but prevents the extension sprocket 45 from rotating in the opposite direction (arrow d). This makes it possible to prevent the carrier tape T inserted from the extension insertion port 43a from falling out of the extension insertion port 43a.
[0042] 9, a sensor 50 that detects the rotation of the extension sprocket 45 is disposed in the tape changing mechanism 44. The sensor 50 detects the attachment of the carrier tape T by detecting the rotation (arrow e) of the extension sprocket 45 when the carrier tape T is inserted from the extension insertion port 43a. When the autoload unit 40 is attached to the component supply unit 5, the sensor 50 is connected to the feeder control unit 29 via the third connector 41 and the second connector 30, and the detection result by the sensor 50 is transmitted to the feeder control unit 29.
[0043] The block 47 is disposed below the extension sprocket 45 across the extension conveying path 43. The block 47 is biased toward the extension sprocket 45 by an elastic body such as a spring (not shown), and has the function of pressing the carrier tape T inserted into the extension conveying path 43 against the extension sprocket 45.
[0044] In Fig. 9, the lever 48 is disposed in the extended transport path 43 downstream of the extended sprocket 45 and the block 47 in the tape feed direction. The lever 48 has a stopper 48a at its upstream end and a roller 48b at its downstream end, and swings about a support shaft 48c that extends in a direction perpendicular to the tape feed direction in a horizontal plane. An elastic member 51 such as a spring is connected to the upper surface of the lever 48 between the stopper 48a and the support shaft 48c. The lever 48 is biased by the elastic member 51 in a direction in which the stopper 48a side is lifted upward.
[0045] 9, in addition to the leading tape T1 supplying components, a trailing tape T2 for replenishing components is inserted into the autoload unit 40. The roller 48b of the lever 48 is lifted by the leading tape T1 against the biasing force of the elastic member 51, causing the stopper 48a on the opposite side to lower downward. The leading end of the trailing tape T2 is in contact with the stopper 48a, which is in the lowered blocking position, and is stopped (standby).
[0046] 10A to 10D, a tape changing process in which the carrier tape T supplying components is changed from the leading tape T1 to the trailing tape T2 by the tape changing mechanism 44 will be described. Fig. 10A shows a state in which the supply of components from the leading tape T1 has progressed from the state in Fig. 9, and the rear end of the leading tape T1 has moved downstream of the block 47. In Fig. 10A, the leading tape T1 has lifted the roller 48b of the lever 48, and the trailing tape T2 has been stopped by the stopper 48a which is in the blocking position.
[0047] 10B shows a state in which the rear end of the leading tape T1 has passed over roller 48b. When the leading tape T1 has passed over, roller 48b is lowered downward by the biasing force of elastic member 51, and stopper 48a is raised to an allowable position that allows the entry of the waiting trailing tape T2 (arrow f). Thereafter, when motor 46 is operated in response to a command from feeder control unit 29, extension sprocket 45 rotates (arrow g), and the trailing tape T2 is replenished to component supply unit 5. That is, in response to a command from feeder control unit 29, the trailing tape T2 is automatically supplied (automatically loaded) to component supply unit 5.
[0048] In Fig. 10C, the extension sprocket 45 rotates (arrow h) and the trailing tape T2 moves downstream, and when the trailing tape T2 lifts the roller 48b, the stopper 48a moves to the blocking position (arrow i). In Fig. 10D, when the worker inserts the next carrier tape T3 from the extension insertion port 43a (arrow j), the next carrier tape T3 enters between the extension sprocket 45 and the previous carrier tape T (trailing tape T2) and stops by abutting against the stopper 48a at the blocking position. In this way, the autoload unit 40, which is an extension unit, is an automatic loading unit that automatically loads a new carrier tape T (trailing tape T2) into the component supply unit 5.
[0049] Next, the configuration of the control system of the component mounting device 1 will be described with reference to Fig. 11. The mounting control unit 13 of the component mounting device 1 is connected to the board transport unit 3, the component mounting unit 10, a notification unit 61, a touch panel 62, and a mounting memory unit 63. The component supply unit 5 mounted in the component supply unit C (component supply unit mounting unit 6a) is connected to the mounting control unit 13 via the first connector 22 and the mounting unit connector 14. The mounting control unit 13 is equipped with a unit control unit 64, a configuration information acquisition unit 65, an out-of-stock determination unit 66, and a feeder information acquisition unit 67.
[0050] The mounting control unit 13 transmits and receives various information to and from an information management unit 68, such as a server that manages a production line including the component mounting device 1, via a communication network 69. The mounting storage unit 63 is a storage device, and stores configuration information 63a, feeder information 63b, and the like. The notification unit 61 is an indicator light, a buzzer, and the like, and issues a warning by turning on a lamp or sounding a warning when the component supply unit 5 runs out of stock, or when an error occurs that an extension unit mounted on the component supply unit 5 is inappropriate, and the like. The touch panel 62 displays various information on its display unit, and the worker inputs data and operates the component mounting device 1 using operation buttons and the like displayed on the display unit.
[0051] 11, the configuration information acquisition unit 65 communicates with the multiple component supply units 5 mounted on the component supply unit C to acquire the configuration information of each of the component supply units 5. Alternatively, the configuration information acquisition unit 65 communicates with the information management unit 68 to acquire the configuration information of the multiple component supply units 5 mounted on the component supply unit C. The configuration information acquisition unit 65 stores the acquired configuration information 63a in the mounting storage unit 63.
[0052] The feeder information acquisition unit 67 communicates with the multiple component supply units 5 attached to the component supply unit C to acquire feeder information including the type of each of the component supply units 5. Alternatively, the feeder information acquisition unit 67 communicates with the information management unit 68 to acquire the feeder information of the component supply units 5 attached to the component supply unit C. The feeder information acquisition unit 67 stores the acquired feeder information 63b in the attachment storage unit 63.
[0053] 11, out-of-stock determination unit 66 counts the remaining number of components stored on carrier tape T supplying components from component supply unit 5 attached to component supply unit C based on the initial number of components stored on carrier tape T (preceding tape T1) supplying components from component supply unit 5 attached to component supply unit C, the number of supplied components supplied by component supply unit 5, etc. Then, based on the remaining number of components, out-of-stock determination unit 66 determines whether or not a shortage has occurred, in which the remaining number of components on carrier tape T attached to component supply unit 5 attached to component supply unit C becomes zero.
[0054] The unit control unit 64 controls the component supplying unit 5 mounted on the component supplying section C based on the configuration information 63a or the feeder information 63b stored in the mounting storage unit 63. Specifically, the unit control unit 64 controls the component supplying unit 5 holding the carrier tape determined to be out of stock by the component out-of-stock determining unit 66 based on the configuration information 63a or the feeder information 63b to execute a component replenishing process described later.
[0055] Next, the configuration of a control system of the component supply unit 5 (component supply device) will be described with reference to Fig. 12. The component supply unit 5 includes a feeder control unit 29 to which a carrier tape transport motor 33, a tape detection sensor 37, a lamp 71, an operation unit 72, a display unit 73, and an information storage unit 74 are connected. The feeder control unit 29 includes an operation program storage unit 75 and an extension unit identification unit 76, and controls the operation of the component supply unit 5. In other words, the feeder control unit 29 is a first control unit that controls the operation of the component supply device (component supply unit 5).
[0056] The lamps 71 light up, blink, etc. to indicate the operating status of the component supplying unit 5, out-of-stock status, etc. The operation unit 72 is composed of buttons, etc., and accepts operations on the component supplying unit 5 by an operator. The display unit 73 is a liquid crystal display board, a 7-segment LED (Light Emitting Diode), etc., and displays the operating status of the component supplying unit 5 in text. The information storage unit 74 is a storage device, and stores feeder information including a unique number that identifies the component supplying unit 5, component information including the names of components supplied by the component supplying unit 5, component identification numbers, and the remaining number of components, and, when the autoload unit 40 is installed, the presence or absence of a subsequent tape T2, etc.
[0057] 12, the first connector 22 attached to the mounting section connector 14 of the component supplying section C has a plurality of terminals arranged in a predetermined arrangement to be electrically connected to the terminals of the mounting section connector 14. A first power line 77 arranged in the component supplying unit 5 is connected to the power terminal 22a of the first connector 22. When the first connector 22 is attached to the mounting section connector 14, the first power line 77 is connected to the power supply section 12 provided in the component mounting device 1 via the power terminal 22a, and power is supplied from the power supply section 12 to the first power line 77. The first power line 77 is connected to a power supply circuit 78 provided in the component supplying unit 5. The power supply circuit 78 supplies power to each section provided in the component supplying unit 5.
[0058] To the communication terminal 22b of the first connector 22, one end of a first communication line 82 is connected to a first communication section 83 arranged in the component supply unit 5, and the other end of the first communication line 82 is connected. The first communication section 83 converts a serial signal transmitted from the placement control section 13 via the first communication line 82 into a parallel signal and transmits the parallel signal to the feeder control section 29. The first communication section 83 also converts a parallel signal transmitted from the feeder control section 29 into a serial signal and transmits the serial signal to the placement control section 13. To the multiple control terminals 22c of the first connector 22, the other ends of multiple first control lines 84, one end of which is connected to the feeder control section 29, are respectively connected. The feeder control section 29 and the placement control section 13 transmit and receive control signals via the multiple first control lines 84.
[0059] Next, the configuration of the control system of auto load unit 40, which is an expansion unit, and the configuration of the part of the control system of component supply unit 5 (component supply device) that is connected to the expansion unit will be described with reference to Figures 12 and 13. The third connector 41 of auto load unit 40 and the second connector 30 of component supply unit 5 each have a plurality of terminals that are electrically connected to each other in a predetermined arrangement. A second power line 80 arranged in component supply unit 5 is connected to the power terminal 30a of the second connector 30.
[0060] The second power line 80 is connected to the first power line 77 via a switch unit 79 controlled by the feeder control unit 29. When the feeder control unit 29 turns on the switch unit 79, power is supplied from the first power line 77 to the second power line 80, and when the feeder control unit 29 turns off the switch unit 79, the power supply from the first power line 77 to the second power line 80 is cut off. The switch unit 79 also has a function of detecting the current supplied from the first power line 77 to the second power line 80, and cuts off the power supply to the second power line 80 when it detects an overcurrent. The detection terminal 30b of the second connector 30 is connected to the feeder control unit 29 via an extension unit detection line 81.
[0061] 12 and 13, one end of a third power line 90 is connected to a power terminal 41a of the third connector 41 of the auto load unit 40, the other end of which is connected to a power circuit 91 arranged in the auto load unit 40. The power circuit 91 supplies power to each component of the auto load unit 40. The third power line 90 is connected to a detection terminal 41b of the third connector 41 via a resistor 92 with a high resistance value arranged in the auto load unit 40. In other words, by measuring the voltage of the detection terminal 41b of the third connector 41, the state of the power supplied to the third power line 90 can be detected.
[0062] Here, a method for detecting the presence or absence of the auto load unit 40 (expansion unit) by the feeder control unit 29 (first control unit) will be described with reference to Figs. 12 and 13. When the feeder control unit 29 turns on the switch unit 79 while the auto load unit 40 is attached to the component supply unit 5 attached to the component supply unit C, power is supplied to the auto load unit 40 from the power terminal 30a of the second connector 30 of the component supply unit 5. Then, the voltage of the third power line 90 is output from the detection terminal 41b of the third connector 41. In this case, the detection terminal 30b of the second connector 30 has the same voltage as the third power line 90, i.e., the same (almost the same) voltage as the first power line 77.
[0063] When the feeder control unit 29 turns off the switch unit 79 while the auto load unit 40 is attached to the component supply unit 5 attached to the component supply unit C, the power supply to the auto load unit 40 is cut off. In this case, the detection terminal 30b of the second connector 30 is in an open state. Also, even if the feeder control unit 29 turns on the switch unit 79 while the auto load unit 40 is not attached to the component supply unit 5 attached to the component supply unit C, the detection terminal 30b of the second connector 30 remains in an open state. Note that, if the extension unit detection line 81 is pulled down, the voltage of the extension unit detection line 81 becomes zero when the detection terminal 30b is in an open state.
[0064] 12 and 13, the feeder control unit 29 measures the voltage of the detection terminal 30b of the second connector 30 via the expansion unit detection line 81. When the feeder control unit 29 turns on the switch unit 79, if the voltage of the detection terminal 30b is the same (almost the same) as the first power line 77, the feeder control unit 29 determines that the auto load unit 40 (expansion unit) is attached. On the other hand, when the feeder control unit 29 turns on the switch unit 79, if the detection terminal 30b is in an open state, the feeder control unit 29 determines that the auto load unit 40 is not attached.
[0065] In this way, the second connector 30 is connected to an expansion unit detection line 81 for detecting the presence or absence of an expansion unit (auto-load unit 40). The feeder control unit 29 detects the presence or absence of an expansion unit based on the voltage of the expansion unit detection line 81 when the switch unit 79 is turned on and off. Furthermore, when the switch unit 79 is turned on, if the switch unit 79 detects an overcurrent in the power supplied to the expansion unit, it cuts off the power to the expansion unit. In other words, the switch unit 79 is a safety circuit that monitors the power supplied to the expansion unit.
[0066] 12 and 13, one end of a second communication line 86 is connected to a second communication section 85 disposed in the component supply unit 5, and the other end of the second communication line 86 is connected to the communication terminal 30c of the second connector 30 of the component supply unit 5. The second communication section 85 converts a parallel signal transmitted from the feeder control section 29 into a serial signal and transmits the serial signal to the auto load unit 40. The second communication section 85 also converts a serial signal transmitted from the auto load unit 40 via the second communication line 86 into a parallel signal and transmits the parallel signal to the feeder control section 29.
[0067] One end of a third communication line 93 is connected to an expansion input / output interface (expansion IO) 94 arranged inside the auto load unit 40, and the other end of the third communication line 93 is connected to the communication terminal 41c of the third connector 41 of the auto load unit 40. An identification information storage unit 95 and a sensor 50 that detects rotation of the extension sprocket 45 are connected to the expansion IO 94. The identification information storage unit 95 is a storage device that stores information including a unique number that identifies the auto load unit 40, information that identifies the type of expansion unit, and the like.
[0068] 12 and 13, the expansion IO 94 converts information stored in the identification information storage unit 95 and the detection result of the sensor 50 into a serial signal and transmits it to the feeder control unit 29 via the communication terminal 41c. The expansion IO 94 converts a parallel signal transmitted from the feeder control unit 29 and transmits it to the identification information storage unit 95 and the sensor 50. The expansion unit identification unit 76 provided in the feeder control unit 29 (first control unit) obtains information specifying the type of expansion unit from the identification information storage unit 95 of the auto load unit 40 and recognizes the type of expansion unit connected to the second connector 30.
[0069] The operation program storage unit 75 stores a plurality of operation programs corresponding to the type of the expansion unit connected to the second connector 30. The expansion unit identification unit 76 acquires an operation program corresponding to the recognized type of the expansion unit from the operation program storage unit 75 and adapts it to the control by the feeder control unit 29 (for example, updates the firmware). In this way, the feeder control unit 29 (first control unit) has the expansion unit identification unit 76 that recognizes the type of the expansion unit connected to the second connector 30 and adapts the operation program to the expansion unit.
[0070] 12 and 13, the feeder control unit 29 (first control unit) also notifies the component mounting device 1 of the recognition result by the extension unit identification unit 76 as configuration information 63a or feeder information 63b. That is, the feeder control unit 29 notifies the component mounting device 1 of at least one of information on the presence or absence of an extension unit, the type of the extension unit mounted, and the state of the operation program as the recognition result. Then, the configuration information acquisition unit 65 acquires at least the presence or absence of an extension unit as the configuration information. Also, the feeder information acquisition unit 67 acquires the type of feeder (component supply unit 5) specified by the presence or absence of an extension unit.
[0071] The expansion unit identification unit 76 recognizes the type of the expansion unit immediately after the feeder control unit 29 turns on the switch unit 79 and starts supplying power to the expansion unit connected to the second connector 30. If the expansion unit identification unit 76 cannot recognize the type of the expansion unit or if the expansion unit is not a regular expansion unit, the feeder control unit 29 turns off the switch unit 79 to cut off the power supply. In other words, if the expansion unit identification unit 76 cannot recognize the type of the expansion unit, the switch unit 79 (safety circuit) cuts off the power to the expansion unit. This makes it possible to prevent damage (failure) of an unknown or inappropriate expansion unit connected to the second connector 30.
[0072] 12 and 13, the second connector 30 has a plurality of control terminals 30d connected to one end of each of the second control lines 87, the other end of each of which is connected to the feeder control unit 29. The third connector 41 has a third control line 96, the other end of which is connected to a motor drive unit 97 disposed in the autoload unit 40, connected to one of the control terminals 41d. The motor drive unit 97 drives the motor 46, which drives the extension sprocket 45 to rotate. When the autoload unit 40 is attached to the second connector 30, the feeder control unit 29 and the motor drive unit 97 are connected, and the feeder control unit 29 controls the motor drive unit 97 via the second control line 87 and the third control line 96.
[0073] In this way, the component supplying device (component supplying unit 5) includes a first control unit (feeder control unit 29) that controls the operation of the component supplying device, a first connector 22 that electrically connects the first control unit to a second control unit (mounting control unit 13) of the component mounting device 1, and a second connector 30 that electrically connects the first control unit to an expansion unit (autoload unit 40) mounted on the component supplying device. The second connector 30 is connected to a power line (second power line 80) that supplies power, a control line (second control line 87) for parallel communication, and a communication line (second signal line 86) for serial communication. This allows the component supplying device to automatically expand its functions according to the expansion unit mounted.
[0074] Next, the configuration of the wireless communication unit 100, which is an expansion unit attached to the part supply unit 5, will be described with reference to Fig. 14A. Hereinafter, the same components of the wireless communication unit 100 as those of the autoload unit 40 will be given the same reference numerals and detailed description will be omitted. In addition to the identification information storage unit 95, a communication module 101 is connected to the expansion IO 94 provided in the wireless communication unit 100. The communication module 101 is a communication module for wireless communication, or a wireless module that communicates with a wireless tag.
[0075] The component supplying unit 5 to which the wireless communication unit 100 is attached can wirelessly transmit information about the component supplying unit 5 to the outside via the communication module 101. A control unit 102 is connected to the multiple third control lines 96. A status indicator lamp 103 is connected to the control unit 102. When the wireless communication unit 100 is attached to the component supplying unit 5, the control unit 102 is connected to the feeder control unit 29. The control unit 102 blinks the status indicator lamp 103 based on a command transmitted from the feeder control unit 29.
[0076] Next, the configuration of the battery built-in wireless communication unit 110, which is another expansion unit attached to the component supply unit 5, will be described with reference to Fig. 14B. Hereinafter, the same components of the battery built-in wireless communication unit 110 as those of the wireless communication unit 100 will be given the same reference numerals and detailed description will be omitted. The battery built-in wireless communication unit 110 includes a secondary battery 111 and a charging control unit 112 that is connected to the control unit 102 and controls charging of the secondary battery. The charging control unit 112 controls charging and discharging of the secondary battery 111.
[0077] While power is being supplied from the component supplying unit 5, power is supplied to each part of the battery built-in wireless communication unit 110 from the power supply circuit 91, and the secondary battery 111 is charged. When the power supply from the component supplying unit 5 is cut off, power is supplied to each part of the battery built-in wireless communication unit 110 from the secondary battery 111. As a result, even when the component supplying unit 5 is not connected to an external power source, information about the component supplying unit 5 can be transmitted by transmitting radio waves from the communication module 101 which is supplied with power from the secondary battery 111.
[0078] 15, the expansion unit identification process that is executed first when the component supply unit 5 is attached to the component supply section C (component supply unit attachment section 6a) and power is supplied to the component supply unit 5 from the power supply section 12 will be described. When power is supplied to the component supply unit 5, the feeder control section 29 turns on the switch section 79 (ST1). This allows power to be supplied from the power terminal 30a of the second connector 30.
[0079] Next, the feeder control unit 29 measures the voltage of the detection terminal 30b of the second connector 30 to detect whether or not an expansion unit is attached to the second connector 30 (ST2: expansion unit detection process step). That is, the feeder control unit 29 determines that an expansion unit is attached when the voltage of the detection terminal 30b is the same as that of the first power line 77, and determines that an expansion unit is not attached when the detection terminal 30b is in an open state. If an expansion unit is attached ("Yes" in ST3), the expansion unit identification unit 76 of the feeder control unit 29 reads identification information that identifies the type of the expansion unit from the identification information storage unit 95 of the expansion unit (ST4: identification information acquisition process).
[0080] 15, if the read identification information is information indicating a regular expansion unit ("suitable" in ST5), the expansion unit identification unit 76 activates the suitable operation program stored in the operation program storage unit 75 (ST6: operation program activation step). For example, if an operation program corresponding to the expansion unit indicated by the read identification information is stored in the operation program storage unit 75, the expansion unit identification unit 76 determines that the installed expansion unit is a regular expansion unit.
[0081] This allows the feeder control section 29 to execute control corresponding to the installed expansion unit. That is, the component supplying unit 5 is changed to a different type of feeder by installing an expansion unit for expanding the functions of the component supplying unit 5. For example, when the autoload unit 40 is installed, the component supplying unit 5 becomes an autoload feeder AF. On the other hand, when an expansion unit is not installed, the component supplying unit 5 becomes a normal feeder.
[0082] Next, the feeder control unit 29 notifies the mounting control unit 13 of the component mounting device 1 of the results of the extension unit identification process (configuration information 63a, feeder information 63b) (ST7: result notification step). The notified result is stored in the mounting storage unit 63 of the component mounting device 1. For example, the result of the extension unit identification process is transmitted as information (configuration information 63a) that allows the component mounting device 1 to recognize the configuration of the component supply unit 5, such as the presence or absence of an extension unit and identification information of the mounted extension unit. Alternatively, the result of the extension unit identification process is transmitted as information (feeder information 63b) that specifies the type of the component supply unit 5, such as an autoload feeder AF or a normal feeder.
[0083] 15, if the read identification information is not information indicating a genuine expansion unit, or if the identification information cannot be read ("non-conformity / reading failed" in ST5), the feeder control unit 29 turns off the switch unit 79 to cut off the power supply to the expansion unit (ST8). Next, the feeder control unit 29 causes at least one of the lamp 71 or the display unit 73 to notify a warning / error (ST9). Next, a result notification step (ST7) is executed, and the feeder control unit 29 notifies the mounting control unit 13 that the expansion unit mounted on the component supply unit 5 is not genuine, or that recognition of the expansion unit has failed.
[0084] If the expansion unit is not attached ("NO" in ST3), the feeder control unit 29 turns off the switch unit 79 to cut off the power supply to the second power terminal 30a (ST10). Next, a result notification step (ST7) is executed, and the feeder control unit 29 notifies the mounting control unit 13 that the expansion unit is not attached to the component supply unit 5.
[0085] In this way, the information (configuration information 63a, feeder information 63b) notified in the result notifying step (ST7) is acquired by the mounting control unit 13 (configuration information acquisition unit 65, feeder information acquisition unit 67) and stored in the mounting storage unit 63. That is, the component mounting method of removing components from the component supply unit 5 mounted on the component supply unit C in the component mounting device 1 and mounting them on the board B includes a step of acquiring the configuration information 63a of the component supply unit 5 mounted on the component supply unit C (configuration information acquisition step).
[0086] Alternatively, the component mounting method includes a step of acquiring feeder information 63b including the type of component supply unit 5 mounted on the component supply section C (feeder information acquisition step). Then, the component mounting device 1 controls the component supply unit 5 based on the acquired configuration information 63a or feeder information 63b (component supply unit control step), and the mounting head 9 picks up components from the component supply unit 5 and mounts them on the board B (component mounting step).
[0087] Next, the out-of-stock monitoring process executed in the component mounting device 1 during component mounting work will be described with reference to the flow in Fig. 16. During component mounting work, the out-of-stock determination unit 66 of the mounting control unit 13 monitors the occurrence of out-of-stock of components based on the remaining number of components in the component supply unit 5 mounted in the component supply unit C that is supplying components (ST11: out-of-stock monitoring process). That is, in the out-of-stock monitoring process (ST11), it is determined whether the carrier tape T is out of stock of components.
[0088] If no out-of-stock has occurred (No in ST12), the out-of-stock monitoring step (ST11) continues to be executed. If an out-of-stock has occurred (Yes in ST12), the unit control unit 64 determines the type of the component supply unit 5 that has run out of stock (ST13: Feeder determination step (determination of type of component supply unit 5)). Specifically, the unit control unit 64 identifies whether or not the component supply unit 5 holding the out-of-stock carrier tape T has an autoload unit 40 (automatic loading unit) based on the configuration information 63a or the feeder information 63b.
[0089] 16, if the component supply unit 5 that has run out of an item is the autoload feeder AF (Yes in ST14), the unit control unit 64 checks the installation state of the succeeding tape T2 (ST15). If the succeeding tape T2 has been set (Yes in ST16), the unit control unit 64 transmits a carrier tape replacement command to the component supply unit 5 (ST17).
[0090] That is, if the unit control unit 64 identifies the out-of-stock component supply unit 5 as having an autoload unit 40 (automatic loading unit), it outputs a command to the component supply unit 5 to eject the out-of-stock carrier tape T (leading tape T1) and automatically load a new carrier tape T (following tape T2). After that, the unit control unit 64 returns to the out-of-stock monitoring step (ST11). Note that while the carrier tape is being replaced in the autoload feeder AF, the mounting control unit 13 suspends the removal of components from that autoload feeder AF (or performs the removal of components from another component supply unit 5 first).
[0091] 16, if the succeeding tape T2 is not set (No in ST16), the unit control unit 64 transmits a carrier tape ejection command to the component supply unit 5 to instruct it to eject the preceding tape T1, and transmits a component replenishment notification command to the notification unit 61 or touch panel 62 to notify the user of component replenishment (ST18). After that, the unit control unit 64 returns to the out-of-stock monitoring process (ST11).
[0092] If the component supply unit 5 where the out-of-stock has occurred is a normal feeder (No in ST14), a component replenishment notification command is sent to the notification section 61 or the touch panel 62 to notify the user of component replenishment (ST19). That is, if the unit control section 64 identifies the out-of-stock component supply unit 5 as not having an autoload unit 40 (automatic loading unit), it outputs a command to notify the out-of-stock (component replenishment notification command). After that, the unit control section 64 returns to the out-of-stock monitoring process (ST11).
[0093] In this way, if the unit control section 64 identifies the component supply unit 5 holding the out-of-stock carrier tape T from the configuration information 63a or the feeder information 63b as having an automatic loading unit (autoload unit 40) (Yes in ST14), it outputs a command to the component supply unit 5 to eject the out-of-stock carrier tape T (preceding tape T1) and automatically load a new carrier tape T (following tape T2) (ST17), and if it identifies the component supply unit 5 as not having an automatic loading unit (No in ST14), it outputs a command to notify the out-of-stock (ST19). This makes it possible to execute a component replenishment process that appropriately replenishes carrier tape T according to the attached expansion unit.
[0094] Next, with reference to the flow of Fig. 17, a carrier tape conveying process that is executed by a normal feeder, which is a component supply unit 5 to which no extension unit is attached, in accordance with a command from the unit control unit 64 will be described. During component mounting work, the feeder control unit 29 waits for a command from the unit control unit 64 (ST21: command waiting process). If no command has been received (No in ST22), the command waiting process (ST21) continues to be executed. If a command has been received (Yes in ST22), the feeder control unit 29 controls each part of the component supply unit 5 in accordance with the received command (ST23 to ST26).
[0095] Specifically, upon receiving a "one pitch feed command," the feeder control unit 29 controls the carrier tape transport motor 33 to transport the carrier tape T by one pitch (ST24: one pitch transport step). Upon receiving a "notification command," the feeder control unit 29 controls the lamp 71 and the display unit 73 to notify the commanded content (ST25: notification processing step). The feeder control unit 29 also executes various processes in response to other commands (ST26). Upon executing the received command, the feeder control unit 29 returns to the command waiting step (ST21).
[0096] Next, with reference to the flow of Fig. 18, the carrier tape conveying process that the auto-load feeder AF, which is the component supply unit 5 to which the auto-load unit 40 is attached, executes in accordance with a command from the unit control unit 64 will be described. Note that the same steps as those in the carrier tape conveying process of the normal feeder are given the same reference numerals and detailed description will be omitted. During component mounting work, if no command is received (No in ST22), the command waiting process (ST21) continues to be executed. If a command is received (Yes in ST22), the feeder control unit 29 controls each part of the component supply unit 5 in accordance with the received command (ST23 to ST26, ST31).
[0097] Specifically, when a "one pitch feed command" is received, a one pitch conveying step (ST24) is executed. When a "notification command" is received, a notification processing step (ST25) is executed. When a "tape exchange command" is received, the feeder control unit 29 controls the carrier tape conveying motor 33 and the motor drive unit 97 of the autoload unit 40 to execute a tape exchange process (component replenishment process) in which the leading tape T1 is discharged and replaced with the following tape T2 (ST31: tape exchange processing step). The feeder control unit 29 also executes various processes in response to other commands (ST26). When the received command is executed, the feeder control unit 29 returns to the command waiting step (ST21).
[0098] As described above, the component mounting device 1 includes the component supplying section C to which the component supplying unit 5 that supplies the components stored in the carrier tape T is detachably mounted, a configuration information acquiring section 65 that acquires configuration information 63a of the component supplying unit 5 mounted on the component supplying section C (or a feeder information acquiring section 67 that acquires feeder information 63b including the type of the component supplying unit 5 mounted on the component supplying section C), a mounting head 9 that mounts the components supplied from the component supplying unit 5 onto the board B, and a unit control section 64 that controls the component supplying unit 5 based on the configuration information 63a (or the feeder information 63b). This makes it possible to mount components onto the board B in a manner that automatically suits the configuration of the component supplying unit 5.
[0099] The component supply unit 5 is a component supply device that supplies components to the component mounting device 1 that mounts the components on the board B, and includes a first control unit (feeder control unit 29) that controls the operation of the component supply device, a first connector 22 that electrically connects the first control unit to a second control unit (mounting control unit 13) of the component mounting device 1, and a second connector 30 that electrically connects the first control unit to an expansion unit (autoload unit 40) mounted on the component supply device. The second connector 30 is connected to a second power line 80 that supplies power, a second control line 87 for parallel communication, and a second communication line 86 for serial communication. This allows the component supply device to expand its functions according to the mounted expansion unit. [Industrial Applicability]
[0100] The component supply device of the present disclosure has the effect of being able to expand its functions according to the attached expansion unit, and is useful in the field of mounting components on a board. [Explanation of symbols]
