Method and apparatus for producing leucoquinizarins

Abstract

To provide a method and an apparatus for producing leucoquinizarins from quinizarins, which are simple, excellent in operability, and environmentally friendly.SOLUTION: A method for producing leucoquinizarins comprises producing the leucoquinizarins from quinizarins by using a reducing agent and a noble metal solid catalyst. The noble metal may be selected from platinum, palladium, cobalt, and gold, and the noble metal solid catalyst may be a catalyst in which metal nanoparticles are supported on a catalyst carrier. As the reducing agent, alcohol or hydrogen may be used, or the reaction may be carried out in the presence of an organic solvent. In addition, the noble metal solid catalyst may be accommodated in a catalyst cartridge 3, and the organic solvent containing the quinizarins and the reducing agent may be introduced into the catalyst cartridge 3 to continuously produce the leucoquinizarins.
