Embodiments for Carrying Out the Invention

[0016] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. In the present specification and drawings, components having substantially the same functional configuration are denoted by the same reference numerals, and redundant description is omitted.

[0017] In the present specification and drawings, a plurality of components having substantially the same functional configuration may be distinguished by attaching different alphabets after the same reference numeral. For example, a plurality of components having substantially the same functional configuration or logical meaning are distinguished as envelope holders 200A, 200B, and 200C as needed. However, when it is not necessary to particularly distinguish each of a plurality of components having substantially the same functional configuration, only the same reference numeral is attached to each of the plurality of components. For example, when it is not necessary to particularly distinguish the envelope holders 200A to 200C, each envelope holder 200 is simply referred to as the envelope holder 200.

[0018] <1. Overview> An embodiment of the present invention relates to an envelope holder that is attached to a medium processing device that handles media such as cash or a passbook and houses envelopes used for storing the media. The medium processing device is installed, for example, in a financial institution such as a bank, a convenience store, a station, or a commercial facility.

[0019] In the following description, as an example of the medium processing device, a cash processing device that stores cash and performs at least transactions such as cash deposit or withdrawal is used.

[0020] (Configuration of Cash Processing Device) FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing the appearance of a cash processing device 100 according to an embodiment of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 1, the cash processing device 100 includes a main body 110 placed on a placement surface that can also be referred to as the ground or the floor surface, and a movable part 120 rotatably attached to the front surface of the main body 110 with respect to the main body 110.

[0021] The movable part 120 is rotatably attached around the axis of a rotation axis R along a direction intersecting the vertical direction with respect to the placement surface between a first rotation position for closing the main body 110 and a second rotation position for opening the main body 110. FIG. 1 shows a state where the movable part 120 is in the first rotation position for closing the main body 110.

[0022] The movable part 120 is provided with an operation display unit 11, a receipt slot 12, a card slot 13, a bill deposit / withdrawal slot 14, a shielding plate 15, and an envelope holder 200.

[0023] The operation display unit 11 has a function as an operation unit that receives operation inputs to the cash processing device 100 by an operator such as a customer, a store clerk, a manager, or a worker, and a function as a display unit (operation surface) that displays various operation screens and the like. The function as the display unit is realized by, for example, a CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) display device, a liquid crystal display (LCD) device, or an OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) device. Further, the function as the operation unit is realized by, for example, a touch panel such as an infrared method, a capacitance method, or a resistive film method. A plurality of operation display units 11 may be provided.

[0024] The receipt slot 12 is an opening for discharging a receipt on which transaction details are printed. The card slot 13 is an opening for inserting and discharging a magnetic card or an IC card.

[0025] The bill deposit / withdrawal slot 14 is an opening for depositing and withdrawing bills. A shutter is provided at the bill deposit / withdrawal slot 14, and it opens and closes according to the timing of deposit / withdrawal. In this embodiment, as an example, bills are assumed to be the cash deposited and withdrawn by the cash processing device 100, but it is not limited to this, and coins may be further deposited and withdrawn. That is, the movable part 120 may be further provided with a coin deposit slot and a coin withdrawal slot. Further, when the cash processing device 100 is a device capable of handling a passbook, the movable part 120 may be further provided with a passbook slot. At the passbook slot, insertion and discharge of the passbook can be performed. The bill deposit / withdrawal slot 14, the coin deposit slot, the coin withdrawal slot, and the passbook slot are all examples of media slots.

[0026] The shielding plate 15 is a member provided on the left and right side surfaces when viewed from the front of the movable part 120 so that the state of operation by the operator on the cash processing device 100 cannot be seen from the surroundings. The shielding plate 15 extends to the front surface of the device where the operator is located. Thereby, peeping by a third party is prevented. The shielding plate 15 may be provided only on one side of the movable part 120.

[0027] A sealed envelope holder 200 is attached to the shielding plate 15. The sealed envelope holder 200 is a housing part for housing a sealed envelope for inserting banknotes. For example, a customer can take the banknotes received from the banknote deposit / withdrawal opening 14 and put them into a sealed envelope taken out from the sealed envelope holder 200 and take them home.

[0028] (Sorting out the problems) Here, when the holder for housing the sealed envelope has a box shape with only the part where the sealed envelope is inserted and removed open, there is a problem that dust and dirt tend to accumulate in the holder, and furthermore, it is difficult to check for dirt and clean it. Hereinafter, it will be specifically described with reference to FIG. 2.

[0029] FIG. 2 is a diagram for explaining a sealed envelope holder provided in a cash processing device according to a comparative example. In FIG. 2, mainly only the periphery of the sealed envelope holder is illustrated.

[0030] As shown in FIG. 2, an operation display unit 310 and a banknote deposit / withdrawal opening 320 are provided on the front surface of the cash processing device 300, and a plate-shaped shielding plate 330 extending forward of the cash processing device 300 is provided on the side surface of the cash processing device 300. And inside the shielding plate 330, a sealed envelope holder 340 (340a, 340b) is provided.

[0031] The sealed envelope holder 340 has a box shape and is entirely closed except for the opening through which the sealed envelope is inserted and removed. In this case, dust and dirt easily accumulate in the sealed envelope holder 340.

[0032] Therefore, in view of the above circumstances, the present invention proposes a cash processing device in which dust and dirt that have entered the sealed envelope holder are easily discharged.

[0033] <Regarding the Envelope Holder 200> Hereinafter, with reference to FIGS. 3 to 6, the envelope holder 200 according to the embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail.

[0034] (Mounting Position of the Envelope Holder 200) FIG. 3 is a diagram for explaining the mounting state of the envelope holders 200 (200A to 200C) according to the embodiment of the present invention. In FIG. 3, only the periphery of the envelope holder 200 when the cash processing apparatus 100 is viewed from the right side is shown.

[0035] As shown in FIG. 3, the plurality of envelope holders 200 (200A, 200B, 200C) are attached to the outer surface of the shielding plate 15 provided on the side surface of the movable part 120. Here, as an example, the envelope holder 200 is attached to the movable part 120 via the shielding plate 15, but it is not limited thereto, and it may be attached to the side surface of the movable part 120 without passing through the shielding plate 15. Further, in the example shown in FIG. 3, three envelope holders 200 are attached, but the number of envelope holders 200 to be attached may be one. The number of envelope holders 200 to be attached is not particularly limited.

[0036] The plurality of envelope holders 200 are arranged in the same plane from the lower direction to the upper direction of the cash processing apparatus 100 and are provided adjacent to each other. When the plurality of envelope holders 200 are arranged side by side in the vertical direction, as shown in FIG. 3, by providing the sides of the adjacent envelope holders 200 so as not to protrude from each other, it is possible to prevent a step from occurring between the adjacent envelope holders 200 and avoid dust and dirt from accumulating in the step.

[0037] As shown in FIG. 3, the envelope holder 200 has a first opening 210 which is an opening into which envelopes 30 (30A to 30C) are inserted. The envelope holder 200 is provided such that the first opening 210 faces in the direction in front of the apparatus where the operator is located. Thus, when the operator is standing in front of the cash processing apparatus 100 and operating it, the operator can easily take out an envelope from the envelope holder 200 attached to the side surface of the cash processing apparatus 100.

[0038] (Configuration of the envelope holder 200) As shown in FIG. 3, the envelope holder 200 is provided with a first opening 210 which is an opening into which the envelope 30 is inserted. And a second opening 220 is provided at a position facing the first opening 210. Thereby, compared with the box-shaped envelope holder 340 in which the bottom facing the opening is closed as in the comparative example described with reference to FIG. 2, it is difficult for dust and dirt to accumulate inside the envelope holder 200. Also, when the envelope 30 is stored in the envelope holder 200, the envelope 30 can push out dust and dirt from the second opening 220.

[0039] In this specification, the side where the first opening 210 of the envelope holder 200 is provided is also referred to as the front end side of the envelope holder 200, and the side where the second opening 220 is provided is also referred to as the rear end side of the envelope holder 200.

[0040] Subsequently, with reference to FIGS. 4 and 5 as well, the configuration of the envelope holder 200 will be described in more detail.

[0041] FIG. 4 is a view seen from the side surface side of the apparatus when the envelope holder 200 according to the present embodiment is attached to the cash processing apparatus 100. In FIG. 4, only the envelope holder 200 is shown. FIG. 5 is a rear end perspective view of the envelope holder 200 according to the present embodiment.

[0042] As shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, the envelope holder 200 has a first opening 210 into which the envelope 30 is inserted, a second opening 220 provided at a position facing the first opening 210, a first support portion 201 that supports the first side of the envelope 30, and a second support portion 205 that supports the second side of the envelope 30 provided at a position facing the first opening 210.

[0043] The second support portion 205 abuts against the second side of the envelope 30 so that the envelope 30 does not protrude rearward from the second opening 220 and has a function of supporting the second side. The second side of the envelope 30 is a short-side that is orthogonal to the first side of the envelope 30 when the first side of the envelope 30 described above is defined as the longitudinal side of the envelope 30. The second side of the envelope 30 is also the rear end portion of the envelope 30 when viewed from the insertion direction of the envelope 30. As shown in FIG. 5, the second support portion 205 may be provided at a plurality of locations.

[0044] As shown in FIG. 5, the envelope holder 200 includes a first support portion 201 that supports the first side of the inserted envelope 30, a surface portion 202 provided at a position facing the first support portion 201, an attachment surface portion 204 that is the surface attached to the cash processing device 100, and a front surface portion 203 provided at a position facing the attachment surface portion 204, and forms a space for accommodating the envelope 30 therewith. The attachment surface portion 204 is provided at a position facing the front surface portion 203 and can also be said to be the back surface portion.

[0045] Further, a third opening 230 that leads to the second opening 220 is formed at the end portion of the first support portion 201 on the side of the second opening 220. In the present embodiment, dust and dirt are also discharged from the third opening 230, making it difficult for dust and dirt to accumulate inside the envelope holder 200.

[0046] Note that the edge 207 of the third opening 230 on the side of the first opening 210 may be formed closer to the first opening 210 than the edge 206 of the second support portion 205 on the side of the first opening 210. Thereby, dust and dirt pushed out by the envelope 30 inserted from the first opening 210 are likely to fall from the third opening 230. That is, when the envelope 30 is inserted from the side of the first opening 210 and slides with respect to the first support portion 201 to push out dust and dirt, the rear end portion of the envelope 30 reaches the third opening 230 before hitting the second support portion 205. Therefore, it is assumed that dust and dirt will fall from the third opening 230. The edge 207 forming the third opening 230 may be a curve depicting a shape close to a semicircle, or a straight line depicting a shape close to a U-shape, and is not particularly limited.

[0047] Also, as shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, a fourth opening 240 communicating with the second opening 220 is formed in the surface portion 203. By providing the fourth opening 240, the visibility inside the envelope holder 200 is improved, and it becomes easier for a store clerk, a manager, an operator, or the like to check for dust and dirt. Also, by providing the fourth opening 240, it becomes easier to clean the inside of the envelope holder 200.

[0048] Furthermore, when the movable portion 120 of the envelope holder 200 according to the present embodiment is in an open state with respect to the main body portion 110, that is, when the rotational position of the movable portion 120 is the second rotational position, the direction in which the second opening 220 faces becomes closer to the vertical direction with respect to the placement surface, and dust and dirt inside the envelope holder 200 are discharged. This will be specifically described below with reference to FIG. 6.

[0049] (Posture change of the envelope holder 200 accompanying rotation of the movable portion 120) As described above, the movable portion 120 according to the present embodiment is rotatably attached to the main body portion 110. FIG. 6 is a side view showing the case where the rotational position of the movable portion 120 according to the present embodiment is the second rotational position.

[0050] As shown in FIG. 6, the movable part 120 rotates around the axis of the rotation axis R with the upper end part of the movable part 120 as a base point with respect to the main body part 110. In FIG. 6, the movable part 120 is in the second rotation position where the main body part 110 is opened.

[0051] Since the envelope holder 200 is attached to the movable part 120 via the shielding plate 15, the posture of the envelope holder 200 can also change as the movable part 120 rotates. Specifically, as shown in FIG. 6, the direction in which the second opening 220 of the envelope holder 200 faces becomes closer to the vertical direction with respect to the placement surface P.

[0052] That is, the envelope holder 200 according to the present embodiment is such that when the rotation position of the movable part 120 is the second rotation position where the main body part 110 is opened as shown in FIG. 6, when the rotation position of the movable part 120 is the first rotation position where the main body part 110 is closed (see FIG. 1), the direction in which the second opening 220 faces is provided to be closer to the vertical direction with respect to the placement surface P.

[0053] Thereby, when the movable part 120 is in the second rotation position, dust and dirt in the envelope holder 200 can be discharged from the second opening 220 and fall onto the placement surface P.

[0054] In the cash processing apparatus 100, in operations such as maintenance or inspection of the apparatus, it is assumed that the movable part 120 is opened by an operator or the like in order to access the units inside the apparatus. When the movable part 120 is opened in such an operation, dust and dirt also fall from the second opening 220 of the envelope holder 200. This can also be paraphrased as the envelope holder 200 being cleaned as the movable part 120 is opened, thereby saving labor in cleaning the envelope holder 200 and improving the convenience of the envelope holder 200.

[0055] Note that, since the first opening 210 of the envelope holder 200 is in a positional relationship facing the second opening 220, when the movable part 120 is in the second rotational position, the direction in which the first opening 210 faces is opposite to the vertical direction with respect to the placement surface P as shown in FIG. 6. For this reason, even when the movable part 120 is in the second rotational position with the envelope 30 accommodated in the envelope holder 200, the envelope 30 will not pop out and fall from the first opening 210.

[0056] Regarding the attachment of the envelope holder 200, with reference to FIG. 3, it was described above that the first opening 210 is provided so as to face the direction in front of the apparatus where the operator is located. More specifically, it can be explained as follows. That is, when the rotational position of the movable part 120 is the first rotational position where the main body part 110 is closed as shown in FIG. 1, the envelope holder 200 is attached such that the direction in which the first opening 210 faces is closer to the direction in which the operation display part 11 or the bill deposit / withdrawal opening 14 faces at the first rotational position than when the rotational position of the movable part 120 is the second rotational position where the main body part 110 is opened as shown in FIG. 6. Thereby, during normal times when the rotational position of the movable part 120 is at the first rotational position, it is easy for customers and the like to take out the envelope 30 from the envelope holder 200.

[0057] <3. Modification Example> Next, a modification example of the present embodiment will be described with reference to FIGS. 7 and 8.

[0058] In this modification example, only the attachment position of the envelope holder 200 with respect to the movable part 120 is different from that of the above-described embodiment, and the configuration of the envelope holder 200 is the same as that of the above-described embodiment. Also, the configuration of the cash processing apparatus 102 according to the modification example is the same as that of the cash processing apparatus 100 according to the above-described embodiment.

[0059] FIG. 7 is a diagram for explaining the attachment state of the envelope holders 200 (200D to 200F) according to a modification of the present embodiment. As shown in FIG. 7, the plurality of envelope holders 200 (200D, 200E, 200F) are attached to the movable part 120 of the cash processing apparatus 102 via the shielding plate 15. Further, the plurality of envelope holders 200 are arranged adjacent to each other in the same plane from the lower direction to the upper direction of the cash processing apparatus 102.

[0060] When a plurality of envelope holders 200 are arranged side by side in the vertical direction, as shown in FIG. 7, the sides of adjacent envelope holders 200 are provided so as to be displaced. Specifically, the higher the envelope holder 200 is located, the more the position of the first opening 210 and the second opening 220 in the separation direction is displaced toward the second opening 220 side. Thereby, each third opening 230 of each envelope holder 200 is not blocked by other envelope holders 200, and dust and dirt are more likely to fall from each third opening 230 in a state where the movable part 120 closes the main body part 110.

[0061] FIG. 8 is a side view showing the case where the rotational position of the movable part 120 is the second rotational position according to a modification of the present embodiment. Similar to the above-described embodiment, the movable part 120 rotates around the axis of the rotation axis R with the upper end part of the movable part 120 as a base point with respect to the main body part 110. When the movable part 120 is in the second rotational position where the main body part 110 is opened, the direction in which the second opening 220 of the envelope holder 200 faces becomes closer to the vertical direction with respect to the placement surface P.

[0062] Thereby, in a state where the movable part 120 opens the main body part 110, dust and dirt in the envelope holder 200 can be discharged from the second opening 220 as in the above-described embodiment.

[0063] <4. Supplementary Note> The preferred embodiments of the present invention have been described in detail above with reference to the accompanying drawings, but the present invention is not limited to such examples. It is obvious that those having ordinary knowledge in the technical field to which the present invention pertains can conceive of various modification examples or correction examples within the scope of the technical idea described in the claims, and it is naturally understood that these also belong to the technical scope of the present invention.

[0064] For example, in the above-described embodiments and modification examples, an example in which the envelope holder 200 is provided outside the shielding plate 15 has been illustrated, but the present invention is not limited thereto, and the envelope holder 200 may be provided inside the shielding plate 15.

[0065] Also, in the above-described embodiments and modification examples, an example in which the envelope holder 200 is attached to only one of the plurality of shielding plates 15 provided on both sides of the movable part 120 has been illustrated, but the present invention is not limited thereto, and the envelope holder 200 may be provided on both shielding plates 15 respectively.

[0066] The envelope holder 200 can be attached to either the left or right shielding plate 15 as viewed from the front of the device. As shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, an opening similar to the third opening 230 is also formed at the end of the surface portion 202 on the second opening 220 side of the surface portion 202 provided at a position facing the first support portion 201 in the envelope holder 200. Such a surface portion 202 functions as a first support portion for supporting the first side of the envelope 30 when the envelope holder 200 is attached to the left shielding plate 15 as viewed from the front of the device. At this time, dust and dirt can fall from the opening formed at the end of the surface portion 202 on the second opening 220 side.

[0067] In addition, the envelope 30 accommodated in the envelope holder 200 is assumed to be not only an envelope for accommodating cash but also an envelope for accommodating a passbook. For example, in the above-described embodiments and modifications, the cash processing devices 100 and 102 are used as an example of the medium processing device. However, the present invention is not limited thereto, and the medium processing device may be a passbook processing device capable of carrying over a passbook. The passbook processing device can issue a new passbook (carry-over) when the passbook is full in addition to posting in the passbook. The customer can put the new passbook in the envelope 30 and take it home.

[0068] In addition, the envelope holder 200 may be capable of accommodating articles other than the envelope 30 according to the mode in which the cash processing device 100 (medium processing device) is managed and operated. Here, the articles other than the envelope 30 are, for example, leaflet-shaped pamphlets having sides in the longitudinal direction and sides in the short direction like the envelope 30. In other words, the envelope holder 200 may be capable of appropriately accommodating leaflet-shaped articles having sides in the longitudinal direction and sides in the short direction. The envelope holder 200 in the above-described embodiments and modifications can achieve the same effect even when the article to be accommodated is a pamphlet as when the envelope 30 is accommodated.

[0069] In addition, the cash processing devices 100 and 102 may be an ATM (Automatic Teller Machine) or a money changer.
