Summary of the Invention
Problems to be Solved by the Invention
[0005] The present invention is made to solve the above problems, and is a collapsible umbrella that can be used in daily life. It can shorten the umbrella width (dimension in the direction perpendicular to the advancing direction), and even when the umbrella is opened in a crowded place, it can prevent contact accidents between pedestrians and the exposed tip of the umbrella. It is a collapsible umbrella that complies with the Road Traffic Law (the upper limit of the vehicle width of a bicycle is 60 cm) even when standing on a bicycle, and aims to provide a collapsible umbrella in which the main rod is not constantly loaded and is not likely to be deformed or damaged.
Means for Solving the Problems
[0006] The present invention is a collapsible umbrella in which the front main rod constituting the main rod can be folded upward, and an exposed tip locking portion for locking the exposed tip at the tip of the folded front main rod is provided on the upper surface of the umbrella cloth, and the umbrella width dimension in the direction perpendicular to the advancing direction is variable. Moreover, it is desirable that the exposed tip locking portion of the collapsible umbrella of the present invention is provided independently on the main rod. Moreover, it is desirable that the exposed tip locking portion of the collapsible umbrella of the present invention is provided independently on the upper surface of the umbrella cloth between the main rods. Moreover, it is desirable that the exposed tip locking portion of the collapsible umbrella of the present invention is a gap formed at the lower part of the support plate by the support plate provided at the lower part of the stone protrusion of the collapsible umbrella. Moreover, it is desirable that the exposed tip locking portion of the collapsible umbrella of the present invention is sized to cover the exposed tip of the folded front main rod and the edge of the umbrella cloth connected to the exposed tip, and is provided on the upper surface of the umbrella cloth. Moreover, it is desirable that the length of the original main rod constituting the main rod of the collapsible umbrella of the present invention is variable.
Effects of the Invention
[0007] The folding umbrella of the present invention is a folding umbrella in which the tip parent rib constituting the parent rib can be folded upward, and a tip locking portion for locking the exposed tip at the tip of the folded tip parent rib is provided on the upper surface of the umbrella cloth, and the length of the original parent rib is variable. Therefore, even when the umbrella is opened in a crowded place, it can prevent contact accidents between pedestrians and the exposed tip, and even when it is erected on a bicycle, it can form a roof that complies with the Road Traffic Law (the upper limit of the vehicle width of a bicycle is 60 cm). There is an effect that a folding umbrella in which no load is always applied to the parent rib can be provided. As described in claim 2, when the tip locking portion is provided independently on the parent rib, it has the effects that the structure is simple and it is easy to attach it later. As described in claim 3, when the tip locking portion is provided independently on the upper surface of the umbrella cloth between the parent ribs, it has the effects that the structure is simple and it is easy to attach it later. As described in claim 4, when the tip locking portion is a gap formed at the lower part of the support plate by the support plate provided at the lower part of the stone protrusion of the folding umbrella, it has the effects that the structure is simple and it does not get in the way even if it is always attached. As described in claim 5, when the tip locking portion is sized to cover the exposed tip of the folded tip parent rib and the umbrella cloth side connected to the exposed tip and is provided on the upper surface of the umbrella cloth, since the tip locking portion is covered with the umbrella cloth, it can prevent the intrusion of rainwater. As described in claim 6, when the length of the original parent rib constituting the parent rib is variable, it has the effect that the umbrella width dimension in the direction perpendicular to the traveling direction can be adjusted steplessly.

Embodiments for Carrying Out the Invention
[0009] Hereinafter, the folding umbrella of the present invention will be described with reference to Figs. 1 to 25. The basic structure of the three-stage folding umbrella with six main ribs of the present invention consists of a regular hexagonal umbrella cloth (10) of the same size and six folding main ribs (1 to 6), as shown in Fig. 1. The main ribs (1 to 6) are composed of original main ribs (1a to 6a), tip knuckles (1b to 6b), tip main ribs (1c to 6c), exposed tips (1d to 6d), receiving ribs (1y to 6y), and auxiliary ribs (1z to 6z).
[0010] The length (HW) of the main rib is 55 cm, and the span (DW) of 96 cm becomes the umbrella width (W). In order to fix the exposed tips (1d to 6d) of the folding main ribs (1 to 6) to the surface of the umbrella cloth (10), a pair of exposed tip locking parts (1g to 6g) and exposed tip locked parts (1f to 6f) are arranged on the surface of the umbrella cloth (10). The exposed tip locking parts (1g to 6g) shown in Fig. 2 are provided on the surface of the umbrella cloth (10) near the connecting part of the original main ribs (1a to 6a) and the receiving ribs (1y to 6y), and the exposed tip locked parts (1f to 6f) are provided on the surface of the umbrella cloth 10 near the connecting part of the tip main ribs (1c to 6c) and the exposed tips (1d to 6d). The exposed tip locked parts (1f to 6f) may be configured as separate bodies from the exposed tips (1d to 6d), but in order to simplify the structure and improve the usability, the exposed tips (1d to 6d) are used as the exposed tip locked parts (1f to 6f). The basic structure of the two-stage folding umbrella with eight main ribs of the present invention consists of a regular octagonal umbrella cloth (10) of the same size and eight folding main ribs (1 to 8), as shown in Fig. 5. The main ribs (1 to 8) are composed of original main ribs (1a to 8a), tip knuckles (1b to 8b), tip main ribs (1c to 8c), exposed tips (1d to 8d), receiving ribs (1y to 8y), and auxiliary ribs (1z to 8z).
[0011] The length of the main rib (HW) is 55 cm, and the delivery width (DW) of 96 cm becomes the umbrella width (W). The exposed tip locking parts (20, 21) shown in FIG. 5 are independently provided on the upper surface of the umbrella cloth (10) between the main ribs (5, 6) and between the main ribs (1, 2). The exposed tip locking part (22) shown in FIG. 11 is provided in place of the exposed tip locking part (20) shown in FIG. 5.
[0012] The exposed tip locking parts are exemplified by the exposed tip locking part (20) of the first embodiment shown in FIG. 6, the exposed tip locking part (22) of the second embodiment shown in FIG. 10, and the exposed tip locking part (23) of the third embodiment shown in FIG. 13. However, as long as it is possible to lock the exposed tip, those with other shapes and structures may be used.
[0013] The exposed tip locking parts (20, 21) of the first embodiment are made of synthetic resin material. In the case of the two-stage folding umbrella with 8 main ribs shown in FIG. 5, they are independently provided on the center line (M) of the straight line connecting the midpoint (1m) of the umbrella cloth side (4h) and the midpoint (2m) of the umbrella cloth side (1h). As shown in FIG. 6, for the exposed tip locking part (20), the exposed tips (7d, 4d), which are the exposed tip parts to be locked, are inserted from the openings (52, 53) formed on both sides. Also, as shown in FIG. 8, for the exposed tip locking part (21), the exposed tips (8d, 3d), which are the exposed tip parts to be locked, are inserted from the openings (50, 51) formed on both sides. Moreover, the exposed tips (7d, 4d), (8d, 3d) inside the exposed tip locking parts (20, 21) do not apply a load to the umbrella cloth (10). In order to ensure easy insertion, without fixing them, a certain amount of play is given, so that the tip parts of the exposed tips (7d, 4d), (8d, 3d) are in a state of pressing against each other inside the exposed tip locking parts (20, 21), interfering with each other and preventing movement. For those exposed tip locking parts (20, 21) made of synthetic resin material, the methods of fixing to the umbrella cloth (10) include adhesion, welding, and sewing. For those made of metal material, it is possible to fix them with a magnet. For those made of synthetic resin material or metal, it is desirable to cover them with a cloth of the same material as the umbrella cloth (10) to prevent damage to the umbrella cloth.
[0014] The exposed tip locking part (22) of the second embodiment is formed by a gap (25) formed between a support plate (16) formed at the lower part of the stone projection (15) and the umbrella cloth (10) as shown in FIGS. 9 to 12. The exposed tip locking part (22) may be formed integrally with the support plate (16) by synthetic resin with the support plate (16) facing each other, and a depression for locking the exposed tip (4d to 7d), which is the exposed tip locked part, may be provided between the support plate (16) and the exposed tip locking part (26) so that the positioning of the locking of the exposed tip (4d to 7d) can be achieved.
[0015] In the case of a three-stage folding umbrella with six main ribs, as shown in FIG. 2, the exposed tip locking parts (1g to 6g) are near the connecting parts between the original main ribs (1a to 6a) and the tip main ribs (1c to 6c) on the main ribs (1 to 6), and the exposed tip locked parts (1f to 6f) are provided independently on the exposed tips (1d to 6d) of the main ribs (1 to 6).
[0016] The exposed tip locking part (23) of the third embodiment is formed on the part of the umbrella cloth (10) sandwiched as shown in FIGS. 13 to 18 to prevent rainwater from flowing around and accumulating. The exposed tip locking part (23) is made of the same material as the umbrella cloth 10, has a shape large enough to cover the exposed tips (3d, 6d) and the umbrella cloth edges (2h and 3h), (5h and 6h), and as shown in FIG. 13, in the case of a three-stage folding umbrella with six main ribs, it is formed across between the exposed tips (1d, 5d) and near the exposed tips (2d, 4d) in the front-rear direction of the advancing direction, and two are arranged in parallel with respect to the center line (M) of the umbrella. FIG. 14 is a cross-sectional view of the exposed tip locking part (23) taken along the line A-A', and FIG. 15 is a cross-sectional view of the exposed tip locking part (23) taken along the line B-B'. The upper side of the umbrella cloth (10) on the stone projection (15) side is sewn and adhered, and on the opposite exposed tip (3d) side, a gap (27) is provided between the exposed tip locking part (23) and the umbrella cloth (10). The gaps (27) in FIG. 17 of the C-C' cross-section and FIG. 18 of the A-A' cross-section are for accommodating the exposed tips (1d, 5d) and (2d, 6d), which are the exposed tip locked parts, and the umbrella cloth edges (2h, 3h) and (5h, 6h). Since the exposed tip locking part (23) is covered with the umbrella cloth (10), it prevents the intrusion of rainwater.
[0017] Next, a first method for narrowing the umbrella width (W) of the three-stage folding umbrella will be described with reference to FIG. 3. The main ribs (3) are folded with the tip ribs (3c) at the tip joints (3b), sandwiching the umbrella cloth (10) above the original main ribs (3a). By locking the exposed tip engaged portion (3f) to the exposed tip locking portion (3g), and locking the exposed tip engaged portion (6f) to the exposed tip locking portion (6g) of the main ribs (6) in the same way, the umbrella width W can be narrowed.
[0018] Furthermore, a method for deforming the two-stage folding umbrella of the present invention into a substantially rectangular shape or a substantially teardrop shape with an umbrella width W of 60 cm or less will be described with reference to FIGS. 7 and 11. The method of deforming into a substantially rectangular shape is to fold the tip main ribs (3c, 8c) of the umbrella (P) upward at the tip joints (3b, 8b), lock the exposed tip to the exposed tip locking portion 21 between the main ribs 1 and 2, and further fold the tip main ribs (4c, 7c) upward at the tip joints (4b, 7b), and lock the exposed tip to the exposed tip locking portion (20) between the main ribs (5, 6).
[0019] The length (L) of the umbrella (P) deformed into a substantially rectangular shape is 90 cm of the minor axis (SW), and the umbrella width (W) is 55 cm. The length of one side (1h, 5h) is 37 cm. The shape of the conventional umbrella (P) is dome-shaped because the periphery hangs down. When the two-stage folding umbrella of the present invention is deformed into a substantially rectangular shape, the repulsive force of the twisted tip main ribs (1c, 2c) lifts the exposed tip locking portion (21), and further, due to the repulsive force of the tip main ribs (4c, 7c), the exposed tip locking portion (20) is lifted, so that the entire umbrella (P) becomes horizontal.
[0020] Next, the method of deforming into a substantially teardrop shape is to fold the tip main ribs (4c to 7c) of the umbrella (P) in FIG. 5 deformed into the substantially rectangular shape upward at the tip joints (4b to 7b), and lock the exposed tip to the exposed tip locking portion (22) near the stone projection (15).
[0021] The length L of the umbrella (P) deformed into a substantially teardrop shape is 80 cm, and the umbrella width W is 55 cm. Also, when deformed into a substantially teardrop shape, the repulsive force of the twisted tip main ribs (4c, 7c) lifts the exposed tip locking portion (22), and the entire umbrella (P) becomes horizontal. When the entire umbrella (P) is in a horizontal state, the blind spot in the upper part of the field of vision is reduced, improving compliance with the obligation to drive a bicycle safely.
[0022] When the two-stage folding umbrella (P) of the present invention, which is deformed into a substantially rectangular shape or a substantially teardrop shape, is erected by the umbrella stand (26) of the bicycle (35), as shown in FIGS. 23 to 25, it is fixed so that the center line (M) of the umbrella (P) is parallel to the traveling direction of the bicycle, and the stone pier (15) is passed through the hole (18) at the center of the rain shield cover (25) with a seat width (ⅭW) of 60 cm or more, covering the upper part of the umbrella (P) from the front basket (31) to the rear basket (32).
[0023] Conventionally, when the umbrella (P) is opened, the periphery drops, but in the umbrella (P) of the present invention deformed into a substantially rectangular shape, the front exposed tip engaged portion (21) is lifted upward by the repulsive force of the front ribs (1c, 2c), and the rear exposed tip engaged portion (20) is lifted upward by the repulsive force of the front ribs (1c, 2c), and the entire formed roof (R) is in a horizontal state, and the length (RL) of the roof is 90 cm. Therefore, the field of vision in the upper front of the driver (30) is not blocked, and the space in front of and behind the driver's (30) head becomes wider.
[0024] Next, the structure of the main rib (3) of the three-stage folding umbrella with the length of the original main rib constituting the main rib being variable will be described with reference to FIGS. 19 to 21. It is composed of a receiving rib (3y) with a length of 17 cm, an original main rib (3a) with a length of 20 cm, a tip joint (3b), a tip main rib (3c) with a length of 20 cm, and an exposed tip (3d) from the lower pulley (13) that moves the center rod (12) up and down. The receiving rib (3y) is connected at the midpoint to the auxiliary rib (3z) of the upper pulley (14) fixed to the center rod (12). The length (HW) of the main rib from the center line of the center rod (12) to the tip of the exposed tip (3d) is 55 cm.
[0025] FIG. 20 shows a state in which the tip main rib (3c) with a length of 20 cm is folded on the upper side of the original main rib (3a) with a length of 20 cm by the tip joint (3b). As a result, the length (HW) of the main rib from the center line of the center rod (12) to the tip joint (3b) becomes 35 cm.
[0026] Furthermore, in order to make the length (HW) of the parent rib 30 cm, the original parent rib (3a) with a length of 20 cm is shortened to 15 cm as shown in Fig. 21. The original parent ribs (1a to 6a) of the three-stage collapsible umbrella are composed of an inner cylinder (40) and an outer cylinder (41). The inner cylinder (40) is structured to pass through the outer cylinder (41), and by inserting and removing the inner cylinder (40) into and from the outer cylinder (41), the length (HW) of the original parent rib can be adjusted. Also, the inner cylinder (40) and the outer cylinder (41) have an elliptical short-axis cross-section as shown in Fig. 22. By rotating the inner cylinder (40) and the outer cylinder (41) relative to each other, the inner cylinder (40) and the outer cylinder (41) can be locked and unlocked, and the length (HW) of the original parent rib can be fixed after adjustment.
[0027] Figs. 23 to 25 are views in which the umbrella (P) of the present invention deformed into a substantially rectangular shape is erected by an umbrella stand (26) provided on a bicycle (35) so that the center line (M) of the umbrella is parallel to the traveling direction of the bicycle (35), and a rain shield cover (25) with a seat width (ⅭW) of 60 cm or more is used. The stone protrusion (15) of the umbrella (P) is passed through the hole (18) in the central part, and the front basket (31) to the rear basket (32) of the bicycle (35) is covered. The part where the upper part of the umbrella (P) and the rain shield cover (25) overlap becomes the roof (R). The size of the formed roof (R) is such that the length of the roof (RL) is 90 cm and the roof width (RW) is 60 cm, so that the upper limit regulation of 60 cm for the vehicle width of a bicycle in the Road Traffic Law can be complied with. In the enlarged view around the exposed tip (3b), the sheet of the rain shield cover (25) extends beyond the exposed tip (3b) and hangs downward to wrap the tip of the exposed tip (3b). Also, the exposed tip (6b) is similarly wrapped by the rain shield cover (25). Therefore, the periphery of the rain shield cover (25) is fixed to the periphery of the erected umbrella (P), protecting the umbrella (P) from the buffeting caused by strong winds and gusts, and preventing contact accidents with pedestrians around due to the exposed tip.
