For electric vehicles, battery technology is a key factor in their development.
[0003] In conventional battery manufacturing processes, the output member that connects the total output terminals of the battery modules is generally installed across the entire battery, which increases the weight and costs. Summary of the Invention
[0004] The present application provides a battery, a power consuming device, and a method for molding a battery, which can avoid a configuration in which an output member is installed across the entire battery, thereby reducing weight and costs.
[0005] According to a first aspect, an embodiment of the present application provides a battery including a housing, a battery module, a bus member, and two output members, the battery module is installed in the housing, the number of the battery modules is two or more and is arranged along a first direction, each battery module includes an even number of battery cells arranged along a second direction, the second direction is perpendicular to the first direction, the battery cells include a first side wall and a second side wall connected to each other, the first side wall is a wall having a largest area among all the outer walls of the battery cells, the first direction is perpendicular to the first side wall, the second side walls of two adjacent battery cells are arranged opposite to each other along the second direction, the bus member is used to electrically connect the two adjacent battery cells, the two output members are installed on the same side of the first direction, the two output ends are installed on the battery module located at the outermost position along the first direction, and the two output ends are arranged along the second direction, and the two output members are electrically connected to the two output ends respectively, thereby forming a power supply path together with the bus member.
[0006] In the embodiments of the present application, the two output members and two output ends of the battery face the same side, which simplifies the connection structure, improves the space utilization rate within the housing, and is advantageous for processing and assembly. At the same time, it is possible to avoid using one long output member to form a power supply path across the battery modules, which is advantageous for reducing weight and costs, and improving the integration degree and energy density of the battery.
[0007] In an embodiment of the present application, the bus members include a plurality of first bus members and a plurality of second bus members, the first bus members are used to electrically connect two adjacent battery cells along a first direction, and the second bus members are used to electrically connect two adjacent battery cells along a second direction.
[0008] By installing in this manner, the bus members can be assembled regularly, improving assembly efficiency, and ensuring the effectiveness of forming two output ends on the outermost battery module in the first direction, thereby ensuring that the two output members are installed on the same side in the first direction, improving the space utilization rate within the housing, which is beneficial for reducing weight and cost, and improving the integration degree and energy density of the battery.
[0009] In some embodiments, the second bus member is used to electrically connect two adjacent battery cells in the battery module located at the outermost side along the first direction.
[0010] By installing in this manner, two output ends can be formed in the battery module located outermost along the first direction, thereby ensuring the effectiveness of installing the two output members on the same side in the first direction.
[0011] In some embodiments, the two output ends are respectively installed on two battery cells located at the ends of the outermost battery module in the second direction, which is advantageous to reduce the arrangement length of the two output members, thereby reducing weight and cost, and improving the integration density and energy density of the battery.
[0012] In some embodiments, the battery further includes a stopper member fixedly connected within the housing and abutting a first side wall of the battery cell, the stopper member being used to limit deformation of the battery cell in a first direction.
[0013] In the embodiment of the present application, the stopper member can provide positioning for the battery cell, which is favorable for improving the installation efficiency and installation accuracy, and ensures the battery has good quality, and the stopper member can limit the deformation of the battery cell in the first direction, which is favorable for cushioning the expansion of the battery cell, and ensures the safety performance of the battery.

Moreover, the provision of the cavity can reduce the weight of the stopper member, thereby reducing costs and realizing a lightweight design, while at the same time improving the energy density of the entire battery.
[0020] In some embodiments, a partition is disposed between two adjacent battery modules along the first direction, and the partition abuts against a first side wall of each battery cell in the two adjacent battery modules.
[0021] By installing in this manner, the partition can be used as a structural member of the housing, and by clamping the partition between two adjacent battery modules and connecting it to the first side wall of each battery cell, the partition can better fulfill at least one of the roles of improving structural strength and providing resistance to expansive forces.
[0022] In some embodiments, the divider is adhesively fixed to the first sidewalls of each battery cell in two adjacent battery modules.
[0023] This installation method is advantageous in improving the connection strength and connection stability between the partition and the battery cells, and ensures the safety and reliability of the battery. In addition, by using an adhesive method to connect the partition and each battery cell together, the partition and each battery cell of the battery module can be bonded together before being inserted into the housing, which is advantageous for assembling the battery module and further makes the installation of adjacent battery modules more compact, improving the space utilization efficiency of the housing.
[0024] In some embodiments, the divider is used to regulate the temperature of the battery cell and includes a media flow path within the divider.
[0025] By installing it as described above, the partition can not only manage the heat of the battery cells, but also improve the structural strength of the entire battery as a structural member of the housing, thereby eliminating the need for vertical and horizontal beams inside the housing, achieving high integration, cost reduction, improved space utilization rate of the housing, and a lightweight design.

[0073] Alternatively, the output member 40 may be integrally molded by a pressing process or by injection molding.
[0074] The two output ends are arranged along the second direction Y, so that the two output members 40 are arranged at a distance from each other in the second direction Y, thereby avoiding safety issues such as adjacent output members 40 coming into contact with each other and causing a short circuit, and ensuring the safety performance of the battery 100.
[0075] The number of battery cells 21 included in each battery module 20 is an even number, and alternatively, as shown in FIG. 5, the number of battery cells 21 included in each battery module 20 may be four, or of course, as shown in FIG. 4, six, or eight, as shown in FIG. 6.
[0076] Installing in this manner can ensure that after the bus member 30 is electrically connected to two adjacent battery cells 21, two output ends are formed on the outermost battery module 20 in the first direction X and arranged along the second direction Y, thereby ensuring that the two output members 40 are installed on the same side in the first direction X and avoiding the need to use one long output member 40 to form a power supply path across the battery modules 20, which is advantageous for reducing weight and cost, making the battery cells 21 more compact, and improving energy density.
[0077] The battery 100 provided in the embodiments of the present application has two output members 40, which are electrically connected to two output ends, and the two output ends are located on the outermost battery module 20 along the first direction X and arranged along the second direction Y, so that the two output members 40 are arranged on the same side in the first direction X, which can simplify the connection structure, improve the space utilization rate within the housing 10, and facilitate processing and assembly. At the same time, it is possible to avoid using one long output member 40 to form a power supply path across the battery modules 20, which is advantageous for reducing weight and cost, and improving the integration degree and energy density of the battery 100.
[0078] The battery 100 provided by the embodiment of the present application uses the above structural format, and during molding, the second side walls 212 of an even number of battery cells 21 are first arranged opposite each other along the second direction Y to form a battery module 20, and the battery modules 20 are arranged along the first direction X, and two adjacent battery cells 21 are electrically connected to each other using a bus member 30, and two output ends are formed on the outermost battery module 20 along the first direction X, and the two output ends are arranged along the second direction Y, and two output members 40 are further installed and electrically connected to the two output ends, respectively, to form a power supply path together with the bus member 30. This molding method can avoid forming a power supply path by using one long output member 40 across the battery modules 20, which is advantageous for reducing weight and cost, improving the integration degree and energy density of the battery 100, simplifying the connection structure, and improving the space utilization rate within the housing 10.
[0079] 2 to 6 , in some embodiments, the bus members 30 include a plurality of first bus members 31 and a plurality of second bus members 32, where the first bus members 31 are used to electrically connect two adjacent battery cells 21 along a first direction X, and the second bus members 32 are used to electrically connect two adjacent battery cells 21 along a second direction Y.
[0080] By installing in this manner, the bus members 30 can be assembled regularly, which improves the assembly efficiency, and can ensure the effectiveness of forming two output ends on the outermost battery module 20 in the first direction X, thereby ensuring that the two output members 40 are installed on the same side in the first direction X.
[0081] Alternatively, the first bus member 31 may be electrically connected to the electrode terminals 201a of adjacent battery cells 21 in the first direction X, thereby realizing a series connection, a parallel connection, or a series-parallel connection of multiple battery cells 21 in the same battery module 20. The second bus member 32 may be electrically connected to the electrode terminals 201a of adjacent battery cells 21 in the second direction Y, thereby realizing a series connection, a parallel connection, or a series-parallel connection of multiple battery cells 21 in two adjacent battery modules 20.
[0082] 2 to 6, in some embodiments, the second bus member 32 is used to electrically connect two adjacent battery cells 21 in the battery module 20 located at the outermost side along the first direction X.
[0083] By installing in this manner, except for adjacent battery cells 21 in the battery module 20 located outermost along the first direction X, the remaining battery cells 21 are all connected by the first bus member 31, and the outermost battery module 20 along the first direction X can form two output ends, thereby ensuring the effectiveness of installing the two output members 40 on the same side of the first direction X.
[0084] In some embodiments, the two output terminals are provided to two battery cells 21 located at the ends of the outermost battery module 20 in the second direction, respectively.
[0085] By installing in this manner, it is possible to ensure that the two output members 40 are installed on the same side in the first direction X, thereby simplifying the connection structure, improving the space utilization rate within the housing 10, and facilitating processing and assembly.
[0086] In addition, the length of the two output members 40 can be shortened, which is advantageous for reducing the weight and cost, and improving the integration degree and energy density of the battery 100.
[0087] In some embodiments, the battery 100 further includes a stopper member 50, which is fixedly connected within the housing 10 and abuts against the first side wall 211 of the battery cell 21, and the stopper member 50 is used to limit deformation of the battery cell 21 in the first direction X.
[0088] The provision of the stopper member 50 limits the deformation of the battery cells 21 in the first direction X, and protects the safe operation of the battery cells 21, thereby ensuring the safety performance of the battery 100. In addition, it can provide positioning for the battery module 20, which is advantageous for accurately and quickly mounting the battery module 20 at a preset position in the housing 10, and prevents misalignment during mounting that prevents other components from being mounted accurately, thereby improving mounting efficiency and accuracy, and thereby ensuring good quality of the battery 100.
[0089] Alternatively, the stopper member 50 and the housing 10 may have an integral structure and be formed through processes such as bending, pressing, etc. Of course, the stopper member 50 and the housing 10 may be provided separately and then connected together through methods such as welding, gluing, etc.
[0090] Alternatively, the number of the stopper members 50 may be one or two, and of course, a plurality of stopper members may be provided.
[0091] The stopper member 50 can limit the expansion deformation of the battery cell 21 in the first direction X, and protect the safe operation of the battery cell 21, thereby ensuring the safety of the battery 100.
[0092] In some embodiments, in the height direction Z of the housing 10, the ratio of the height dimension of the stopper member 50 to the height dimension of the battery cell 21 may be set between 2 / 3 and 11 / 10, including the two end points of 2 / 3 and 11 / 10, which not only meets the requirements for structural strength and resists the expansion effect, but also saves space and improves space utilization.
[0093] 3 to 6, in some embodiments, the battery 100 further includes an output member base 60, which is mounted on the stopper member 50 and serves to support the output member 40. Optionally, the output member base 60 includes an insulating material.
[0094] By installing in this manner, the stopper member 50 can be easily attached and fixed, and the occurrence of contact short circuit can be prevented, thereby ensuring the safety performance of the battery 100.
[0095] Alternatively, the number of output member bases 60 may be one, two, or, of course, multiple.
[0096] In some embodiments, the stopper member 50 is provided with an accommodating groove 51 , and the output member base 60 extends at least partially into the accommodating groove 51 .
[0097] The accommodating groove 51 can act to restrict the position of the output member base 60, preventing displacement that could pose a safety hazard to the battery 100, and at the same time, it also plays a role in positioning, making it easier to attach the output member base 60 and improving manufacturing efficiency.
[0098] Optionally, the number of the accommodating grooves 51 may be one or two, or of course, multiple grooves may be provided. Optionally, the shape of the accommodating groove 51 may be provided to match the shape of the output member base 60, so that the accommodating groove 51 can exactly accommodate the output member base 60, limit the position of the output member base 60, and prevent displacement.
[0099] Alternatively, the numbers of the accommodating grooves 51 and the output member bases 60 may correspond one-to-one, or may be multiple-to-one, i.e., multiple output member bases 60 may be installed in the same accommodating groove 51.
[0100] For example, two or more receiving grooves 51 are provided in the stopper member 50, and the two or more receiving grooves 51 are spaced apart from each other.
[0101] Alternatively, the accommodating groove 51 may be formed by press molding, that is, the accommodating groove 51 can be quickly formed in the stopper member 50, the process is simple, and at the same time, material can be saved, which is favorable for realizing a lightweight design.
[0102] In some embodiments, the stopper member 50 extends along the second direction Y and is fixedly connected to the housing 10 at both ends in the second direction Y.
[0103] By installing in this manner, the structural strength of the entire housing 10 can be improved, and the ability to resist expansion of the battery cells 21 can be improved, thereby ensuring safety performance.
[0104] In some embodiments, the stopper member 50 abuts against the first side wall 211 of the battery cell 21 in the outermost battery module 20 .
[0105] This installation method can provide positioning for the battery module 20, which is beneficial for improving the installation efficiency and accuracy, and ensures that the battery 100 has good quality.
[0106] Alternatively, the number of the stopper members 50 is one, and the stopper members 50 abut against the first side wall 211 of the battery cell 21 in one of the outermost battery modules 20 .
[0107] Optionally, the number of the stopper members 50 is two, and they abut against the first side walls 211 of the battery cells 21 in the two outermost battery modules 20 .
[0108] In some optional embodiments, the stopper member 50 is installed in the form of a plate-like structure, which is advantageous in reducing the arrangement space of the stopper member 50, thereby allowing the housing 10 to accommodate more battery cells 21, and improving the space utilization rate inside the housing 10.
[0109] For example, the cross-sectional areas of the parts of the stopper member 50 in the second direction Y are all the same, which facilitates production and saves the internal space of the housing 10. In addition, it is advantageous for each part of the stopper member 50 to be closely attached to the first side wall 211 of each battery cell 21, which improves the supporting and protective effects and improves the space utilization rate inside the housing 10.
[0110] The stopper member 50 abuts against the first side wall 211 of the battery cell 21, and can limit deformation of the battery cell 21 in the first direction X. When the battery cell 21 expands during charging or discharging, the stopper member 50 can provide a buffering effect for the battery cell 21 and even a force opposite in direction to the expanding force, which is beneficial for improving the operational safety of the battery cell 21 and ensuring the safety and reliability of the battery 100. At the same time, the stopper member 50 can provide a pressing force for the battery module 20 to achieve position limiting and fixing, and ensure good quality of the battery 100.
[0111] Furthermore, since the stopper member 50 is installed within the housing 10 and in contact with the battery cell 21, it is possible to reduce the number of end plates and connecting members, etc., which is advantageous for improving installation efficiency and installation accuracy, simplifying the manufacturing process, and reducing the manufacturing cost and the overall weight of the battery 100, thereby achieving a lightweight design.
[0112] In addition, by installing it in this manner, the stopper member 50 can be made a structural member of the housing 10, thereby satisfying the structural strength requirements, achieving a high degree of integration, and bringing the stopper member 50 and the battery cells 21 into closer contact with each other, which is advantageous for making the housing 10 more compact and improving the space utilization rate.
[0113] The first side wall 211 is set as the wall with the largest area among all the outer walls of the battery cell 21, thereby enabling the stopper member 50 to more effectively restrict and fix the position of the battery cell 21, and to play a role in resisting expansion and deformation and improving structural strength, thereby better ensuring the safety performance of the battery 100.
[0114] For example, two stopper members 50 may be installed, and the two stopper members 50 are respectively installed between the housing 10 and the first side wall 211 of the battery cell 21 and abut against the first side wall 211, not only realizing the functions of restricting the position of the battery cell 21, fixing it, and resisting expansion force, but also preventing the battery cell 21 from contacting the housing 10, thereby preventing electrical connection or thermal runaway from occurring; at the same time, the stopper members 50 provide support and protection for the battery cell 21, and improve structural strength.
[0115] The battery 100 provided by the embodiment of the present application uses the above-mentioned structure, and during molding, the second side walls 212 of each battery cell 21 in the same battery module 20 are first arranged opposite to each other, and the second side walls 212 of two adjacent battery cells 21 are connected to form a battery module 20 including two or more battery cells 21 arranged along the second direction Y of the housing 10. Then, the battery module 20 is clamped using a tool and inserted between the stopper members 50 spaced apart along the first direction X in the housing 10, and the tool is removed, whereby each battery cell 21 in the battery module 20 rebounds and presses the stopper member 50, so that the stopper member 50 abuts against the first side wall 211 of the battery cell 21, and the housing 10 is sealed to complete the manufacture of the battery 100. This molding method can improve the space utilization rate of the housing 10, realize a lightweight design, and is easy to manufacture, favorable to molding, and reduces costs while satisfying the requirements of positional restriction, fixing, and resistance to expansion deformation.
[0116] In some embodiments, a plurality of cavities extending along the second direction Y are provided within the stopper member 50 .
[0117] Alternatively, the cavities may be arranged to be spaced apart in a first direction X and, of course, may be arranged to be spaced apart in a height direction Z.
[0118] Optionally, in the height direction Z, the cavities may be arranged in one row, or of course, in multiple rows.
[0119] For example, the multiple cavities are set to be spaced apart in the height direction Z and are arranged in a row, thereby shortening the extension length of the stopper member 50 in the first direction X and providing more space within the housing 10 to accommodate more battery cells 21, which is advantageous in improving the energy density of the battery 100.
[0120] The stopper member 50 has a plurality of cavities extending therethrough in the second direction Y, which is advantageous in that when the battery cells 21 expand due to charging or discharging, the spaces within the cavities are compressed in the first direction X, so that the stopper member 50 can limit the deformation of the battery cells 21 and cushion and absorb the expansion force of the battery cells 21, thereby ensuring the safety performance of the battery cells 21.
[0121] In addition, the provision of the cavity reduces the weight of the stopper member 50, thereby reducing costs and realizing a lightweight design, while at the same time improving the energy density of the entire battery 100.
[0122] In some embodiments, the number of stopper members 50 installed on the plate-like structures may be two, the two plate-like structures are spaced apart in the first direction X, and the battery module 20 is sandwiched between the two plate-like structures.
[0123] For example, two stopper members 50 of the plate-like structure are set and arranged at an interval in the first direction X, and the battery module 20 is sandwiched between the two plate-like structures, i.e., the plate-like structure is located between the battery module 20 and the inner wall of the housing 10, and the plate-like structure is installed abutting the first side wall 211. The two plate-like structures are respectively used to limit the deformation of the battery cells 21 in the first direction X of the housing 10, which can more effectively meet the requirements of position limiting, fixing and resisting expansion, and better ensure the safety performance of the battery 100.
[0124] 3 to 7 , in some embodiments, a partition 70 is installed between two adjacent battery modules 20 along the first direction X, and the partition 70 abuts against the first side walls 211 of each battery cell 21 in the two adjacent battery modules 20.
[0125] By being installed in this manner, the dividers 70 can better serve to improve structural strength and / or resist expansion forces.
[0126] Optionally, the partition 70 can abut against the first side walls 211 of each battery cell 21 in two adjacent battery modules 20 to support the battery cells 21 as a structural member of the housing 10, thereby improving the structural strength, and the partition 70 can be used to resist the expansion force of the battery cell 21 that is abutted against it, thereby ensuring the safety performance of the battery 100.
[0127] In some embodiments, the ratio of the height dimension of the partition 70 in the height direction Z to the height dimension of the battery cell 21 may be set between 2 / 3 and 11 / 10, including the two end points of 2 / 3 and 11 / 10, which not only meets the requirements for structural strength and resists the expansion effect, but also saves space and improves space utilization.
[0128] Additionally, the dividers 70 may optionally be used for thermal management of the abutting battery cells 21 to ensure that the battery cells 21 remain within a proper temperature range, thereby ensuring safe performance of the battery 100.
[0129] In addition, the partition portion 70 can prevent the battery cells 21 of two battery modules 20 adjacent in the first direction X from coming into direct contact with each other, thereby preventing problems such as a short circuit.
[0130] Optionally, the number of battery modules 20 is two, but of course, a plurality of battery modules may be installed.
[0131] Similarly, the number of partitions 70 may be set to one, and when the number of battery modules 20 is set to two, one partition 70 is sandwiched between the two battery modules 20. Of course, a plurality of partitions 70 may be installed, and when the number of battery modules 20 is set to two, one partition 70 is sandwiched between each of two adjacent battery modules 20.
[0132] Alternatively, two or more battery modules 20 are arranged along the first direction X, and each battery module 20 includes two or more battery cells 21 arranged along the second direction Y of the housing 10, and the partition portion 70 can prevent the battery cells 21 in two adjacent battery modules 20 in the first direction X from coming into direct contact with each other, which could cause problems such as a short circuit.
[0133] In some embodiments, the divider 70 is adhesively fixed to the first sidewalls 211 of each battery cell 21 in two adjacent battery modules 20 .
[0134] Installation in this manner makes the connection between the partitions 70 and each battery cell 21 stronger and more stable, ensuring the safety and reliability of the battery 100. In addition, by using an adhesive method to connect the partitions 70 and each battery cell 21 together, the partitions 70 and each battery cell 21 of the battery module 20 can be bonded together before the whole is placed into the casing 10, which is advantageous for assembling the battery 100 module and also makes the installation of adjacent battery modules 20 more compact, improving the space utilization efficiency of the casing 10.
[0135] In addition, the use of an adhesive method is advantageous in reducing consumables and the overall weight, and is useful for designing a lightweight battery 100. Furthermore, the manufacturing process is simplified, and production and assembly efficiency are improved.
[0136] Optionally, a connecting adhesive layer may be provided between the partition 70 and the first side wall 211 to adhesively fix the partition 70 and each battery cell 21 together.
[0137] Optionally, the connection adhesive layer may include a thermally conductive structural adhesive, which not only has a high adhesive effect but also has properties such as heat conduction function, deterioration resistance, fatigue resistance, and corrosion resistance, and can improve the connection strength and heat management efficiency between the battery cells 21 and the partitions 70, and make the heat transfer between the battery cells 21 and the partitions 70 faster. Of course, the connection adhesive layer may further include a double-sided tape, etc.
[0138] In some embodiments, the divider 70 is used to regulate the temperature of the battery cell 21, and a media flow path is provided within the divider 70.
[0139] Alternatively, the partition 70 may be installed as a heat exchange plate, which is sandwiched between two adjacent battery modules 20 and connected to the first side wall 211. Such an installation adjusts the temperature of the battery cells 21 it contacts and realizes the requirements for thermal management of the battery cells 21. Since the first side wall 211 has the largest area of all the outer walls of the battery cells 21, the contact area between the heat exchange plate and the battery cells 21 can be increased, which is advantageous for improving the efficiency of thermal management for the battery cells 21.
[0140] Each battery cell 21 may have two first side walls 211, i.e., the two first side walls 211 of each battery cell 21 are respectively connected to the partition 70, thereby more effectively improving the thermal management efficiency and ensuring the temperature stability of the battery cell 21.
[0141] Thermal management is understood to mean that heat is transferred between the partition 70 and the battery cell 21. For example, the partition 70 directly contacts the battery cell 21 to realize contact-type heat exchange, or a heat-conducting structure (such as a heat-conducting adhesive) is provided between the partition 70 and the battery cell 21 to perform heat exchange. Specifically, the partition 70 dissipates heat by cooling or heating the battery cell 21, controls the temperature of the battery cell 21 within an appropriate range, and improves the service life and safety performance of the battery cell 21. In addition, when a certain battery cell 21 experiences thermal runaway, the heat generated from the thermal runaway battery cell 21 is absorbed by the partition 70 in contact with it, lowering the temperature of the thermal runaway battery cell 21, thereby avoiding the problem of adjacent battery cells 21 also experiencing thermal runaway, and ensuring the safety performance of the battery cell 21.
[0142] Optionally, a partition 70 is sandwiched between each two adjacent battery modules 20, so that it can be understood that one partition 70 can act on and exchange heat with two battery modules 20, and one battery module 20 can exchange heat with two partitions 70, which is advantageous for improving thermal management efficiency and improving the safety and reliability of the battery cells 21.
[0143] A media flow path is provided within the partition 70, and a heat exchange medium (water, air, phase change material, etc.) can flow through the media flow path to perform heat exchange for the battery cells 21, thereby allowing the partition 70 to complete thermal management for the battery cells 21.
[0144] By installing as described above, the partition 70 can improve the structural strength of the entire battery 100 as a structural member of the housing 10, thereby eliminating the need for vertical and horizontal beams inside the housing 10, achieving high integration, cost reduction, improved space utilization rate of the housing 10, and lightweight design. In addition, since the first side wall 211 is the wall with the largest area among all the outer walls of the battery cell 21, the partition 70 can more effectively exchange heat with the battery cell 21, improving thermal management efficiency. In addition, by sandwiching the partition 70 between two adjacent battery modules 20, it is possible to prevent the partition 70 from being damaged and even causing leakage under operating conditions such as collision and vibration, thereby improving the service life, safety, and reliability of the partition 70, and improving the thermal management efficiency of the battery cell 21, thereby further ensuring the safety performance of the battery 100.
[0145] Referring to FIG. 8, in some embodiments, the battery 100 further includes a communicating flow path 71, a supply pipe 72 and a discharge pipe 73, and the media flow paths of each partition 70 are connected via the communicating flow path 71, and the supply pipe 72 and the discharge pipe 73 are connected to the media flow path of the same partition 70.
[0146] Alternatively, the communicating flow path 71, the supply pipe 72 and the exhaust pipe 73 may be installed on the same side extending along the second direction Y of the partition portion 70, or of course, they may be installed on both sides extending along the second direction Y of the partition portion 70.
[0147] Alternatively, the extending direction of the supply pipe 72 and the extending direction of the discharge pipe 73 may be the same or different.
[0148] Alternatively, a communicating flow path 71 may be provided on both sides of the medium flow path of one partition 70 extending along the second direction Y, and the communicating flow paths 71 on both sides of the medium flow path of each partition 70 are connected in sequence and respectively to a supply pipe 72 and a discharge pipe 73, making assembly and replacement easier and more flexible.
[0149] In addition, the communication flow passages 71, the supply pipes 72, and the discharge pipes 73 can be arbitrarily combined to be applicable to various numbers of the partition sections 70, which is advantageous in improving versatility and versatility.
[0150] Optionally, a connecting member may be provided on both sides of the partition 70 extending along the second direction Y, thereby connecting to the communication channel 71 and improving the connection strength.
[0151] By installing in this manner, the medium flow path of each partition 70 can meet the requirements for heat exchange medium only through one supply pipe 72 and one discharge pipe 73, thereby reducing the space occupation rate and simplifying the structure of the supply pipes 72 and the discharge pipes 73, which is convenient for assembly and replacement, and can be adapted to supply heat exchange medium to different numbers of partitions 70, improving flexibility and versatility.
[0152] In some embodiments, the housing 10 is provided with through holes, and the supply pipe 72 and the exhaust pipe 73 each extend out from the housing 10 through the through holes.
[0153] By installing in this manner, one end of the supply pipe 72 and the discharge pipe 73 extend outside the casing 10, the supply pipe 72 can be connected to an external device for supplying heat exchange medium, which is advantageous for obtaining and sending the heat exchange medium to the partition 70, and the discharge pipe 73 can be connected to an external device for storing heat exchange medium, which allows the heat exchange medium that has exchanged heat with the battery cells 21 to be discharged, which is advantageous for obtaining and removing the heat exchange medium, and at the same time reduces the risk of the heat exchange medium leaking inside the casing 10, thereby ensuring the safety and reliability of the battery 100.
[0154] Alternatively, the device for supplying the external heat exchange medium and the device for storing the heat exchange medium may be installed as the same device, or, of course, may be two separate devices.
[0155] Referring to FIG. 3, in some embodiments, the housing 10 includes a top cover 11, a bottom cover 12 and a accommodating frame 13, the bottom cover 12 and the top cover 11 are installed at both ends of the accommodating frame 13 opposite each other in the height direction Z of the housing 10, and the stopper member 50 is connected to at least one of the accommodating frame 13, the top cover 11 and the bottom cover 12, respectively.
[0156] The housing 10 that houses the battery cells 21 is formed by being surrounded by the top cover 11, the bottom cover 12 and the housing frame 13, thereby ensuring the required sealing performance.
[0157] Optionally, the accommodating frame 13 may have an opening 10a, or alternatively, the accommodating frame 13 may have an opening 10a on one side, that is, the accommodating frame 13 and one of the top cover 11 and the bottom cover 12 are integrally molded, and the other seals the opening 10a and is connected to the accommodating frame 13 to form the housing 10 surrounding the battery module 20 for sealing and protecting it. Naturally, the accommodating frame 13 may have openings 10a on both sides, and the top cover 11 and the bottom cover 12 are used to seal the two openings 10a, respectively, and are connected to the accommodating frame 13 to form the housing 10 surrounding the battery module 20 for sealing and protecting it.
[0158] In order to improve the sealing performance after the accommodating frame 13 is connected to the top cover 11 and the bottom cover 12, a sealing member such as a sealant or a seal ring may be installed between the accommodating frame 13 and the top cover 11 or the bottom cover 12.
[0159] Alternatively, the top cover 11, the bottom cover 12 and the receiving frame 13 may be connected by bolts, flow drill screws (FDS), adhesives, welding, etc., and the present application is not limited thereto.
[0160] Alternatively, the top cover 11 or the bottom cover 12 may be made of a material (such as an aluminum alloy) having a certain degree of high hardness and strength, making it difficult to deform, providing higher structural strength, and improving safety performance.
[0161] Alternatively, the bottom cover 12 and the receiving frame 13 may be formed as an integral structure, or of course, the bottom cover 12 and the receiving frame 13 may be provided separately and then connected together by welding, adhesive or other methods.
[0162] For example, the bottom cover 12 and the receiving frame 13 may be removably connected, which can reduce costs and make it easy to replace the bottom cover 12 or the receiving frame 13 when problems such as damage occur.
[0163] Alternatively, the bottom cover 12 and the receiving frame 13 may be made of the same material, or of course, they may be made of different materials.
[0164] Alternatively, the bottom cover 12 may be made of a material (such as an aluminum alloy) having a certain degree of high hardness and strength, so that it is less likely to deform, has higher structural strength, and improves safety performance.
[0165] In some embodiments, the bottom cover 12 may be manufactured using a material having higher strength than the material of the housing frame 13, which is advantageous in absorbing external impact forces and achieving a cushioning effect for the battery 100, preventing the battery 100 from being deformed and broken during vibration, impact, etc., improving the safety and reliability of the battery 100, further improving the overall structural strength of the battery 100, and suitable for various operating conditions.
[0166] Optionally, the bottom cover 12 may further be provided with a reinforcing rib structure, which can better improve the structural strength of the battery 100 .
[0167] By connecting the stopper member 50 to the housing frame 13 and at least one of the top cover 11 and the bottom cover 12, it is possible to set the structure of the entire battery 100 based on different needs, thereby improving versatility.
[0168] Alternatively, the stopper member 50 may be connected to the accommodating frame 13 and the bottom cover 12, or of course, to the accommodating frame 13 and the top cover 11, or of course, to the accommodating frame 13, the top cover 11 and the bottom cover 12.
[0169] For example, the stopper member 50 is connected to the accommodating frame 13 and the bottom cover 12, and the stopper member 50 is installed at a distance from the top cover 11. During assembly molding, the battery cell 21 and the stopper member 50 can be first connected to the accommodating frame 13 and the bottom cover 12, and then the top cover 11 can be covered to form the housing 10 with a sealed space.
[0170] For example, the stopper member 50 is installed at a distance from the top cover 11, and optionally, at least a portion of the top cover 11 can be recessed in the height direction Z away from the battery cells 21 to form a recess, and when a gap exists between the recess and the stopper member 50 and other operating conditions such as collision, vibration, etc. occur, the gap can provide a buffering effect, which is advantageous for better supporting and protecting the stopper member 50 and the battery cells 21, and improves safety and reliability.
[0171] In some embodiments, the housing 10 further includes a connection base 14, which protrudes from the housing frame 13 along the second direction Y, and the connection base 14 is used to attach the battery 100 to a power consumption device.
[0172] The installation of the connection base 14 helps to connect and fix the entire battery 100 to the power consumption device in which it is used, such as to the chassis of the vehicle 1000, thereby improving the stability of the connection and making the connection more robust, while at the same time avoiding safety risk issues for the battery 100 caused by poor connection, thereby ensuring the safety and reliability of the battery 100.
[0173] Alternatively, the connection base 14 is provided protruding on one side of the accommodating frame 13 along the second direction Y, and naturally, a protruding connection base 14 is provided on both sides of the accommodating frame 13 along the second direction Y.
[0174] 2 and 3, in some embodiments, the battery cell 21 includes an electrode terminal 201a, and a surface of the battery cell 21 away from the electrode terminal 201a along the height direction Z is connected to the top cover 11 or the bottom cover 12.
[0175] By mounting the battery cells 21 in this manner, the battery cells 21 can be positioned upright within the housing 10 or upside down within the housing 10, improving options for manufacturing and molding the battery 100.
[0176] Optionally, a surface of the battery cell 21 away from the electrode terminal 201a along the height direction Z is connected to the bottom cover 12. As will be understood, the battery cell 21 is arranged upright in the housing 10, i.e., the electrode terminal 201a is installed adjacent to the top cover 11, and when the battery cell 21 is attached to a power consuming device such as a vehicle 1000, the electrode terminal 201a of the battery cell 21 faces upward, which prevents the electrode terminal 201a from rubbing against the bottom cover 12 when the entire battery 100 is shaken or vibrated, thereby ensuring the safety performance of the battery 100.
[0177] Optionally, a surface of the battery cell 21 away from the electrode terminal 201a along the height direction Z is connected to the top cover 11. As will be understood, the battery cell 21 is arranged in an inverted manner within the housing 10, and when the battery cell 21 is mounted on a power consuming device such as a vehicle 1000, the battery cell 21 can be arranged in an inverted manner with the electrode terminal 201a of the battery cell 21 facing downward, thereby improving the space utilization rate in the height direction Z of the housing 10 and ensuring the physical safety of the driver.
[0178] In some embodiments, the battery 100 further includes a buffer member, which is provided along the height direction Z between the electrode terminal 201a and the top cover 11 or the bottom cover 12.
[0179] By providing a cushioning member, when the entire battery 100 is shaken or vibrated, the cushioning member can provide a cushion for the electrode terminal 201a of the battery cell 21, preventing the electrode terminal 201a from rubbing against the top cover 11 or the bottom cover 12 and damaging structures such as the pressure reduction mechanism, thereby ensuring the safety performance of the battery 100.
[0180] According to a second aspect, an embodiment of the present application provides a power consuming device including the battery 100 of any of the above embodiments, the battery 100 providing electrical energy to enable the power consuming device to operate normally.
[0181] Referring to FIG. 9, according to a third aspect, an embodiment of the present application provides a method for forming a battery 100, including the following steps S100 to S500.
[0182] In step S100, an even number of battery cells 21 are provided. Each battery cell 21 includes a first side wall 211 and a second side wall 212, and the first side wall 211 is the wall with the largest area among all the outer walls of the battery cell 21.
[0183] In step S200, the plurality of battery cells 21 are grouped, each group including an even number of battery cells 21, and the second side walls 212 of each battery cell 21 in the same group are placed opposite to each other to form two or more battery modules 20.
[0184] In step S300, two or more battery modules 20 are stacked and the whole is placed inside the housing 10.
[0185] In step S400 , the battery cells 21 of each battery module 20 are electrically connected via the bus members 30 .
[0186] In step S500, two output members 40 are provided, the two output members 40 are arranged on the same side in the first direction X, the two output members 40 are electrically connected to two output ends installed on the battery modules 20 located outermost along the first direction X, and the two output ends are arranged along the second direction Y, thereby forming a power supply path together with the bus member 30.
[0187] In step S100, the provided battery cell 21 may be one of the battery cells 21 mentioned in the above embodiments.
[0188] In step S200, the plurality of battery cells 21 are grouped, and each group includes an even number of battery cells 21. Alternatively, each group may include four battery cells 21, six battery cells 21, or eight battery cells 21, and the present application is not limited thereto, as long as it is ensured that the number of battery cells 21 included in each group is an even number.
[0189] In step S300, two or more battery modules 20 can be placed together in the housing 10 as a whole, and optionally, a tool can be used to clamp the battery modules 20 into the housing 10, and after the tool is removed, each battery cell 21 in the battery module 20 will rebound and press the housing 10, fitting tightly with the housing 10 and sealing the housing 10 to complete the manufacture of the battery 100. This molding method improves the connection strength, makes the space between the battery cells 21 more compact, improves the space utilization rate of the housing 10, realizes a lightweight design, and is simple to manufacture, advantageous to molding, and reduces costs.
[0190] In step S400, the bus member 30 may be electrically connected to two adjacent battery cells 21 in the same battery module 20, and of course, may also be electrically connected to two adjacent battery cells 21 in two adjacent battery modules 20.
[0191] Optionally, in step S500, the two or more output members 40 are installed on the same side of the battery 100 in the first direction X, and are respectively electrically connected to two output ends installed on the battery modules 20 located outermost in the first direction X, and the two output ends are arranged in the second direction Y to form a power supply path together with the bus member 30. This molding method can avoid forming a power supply path in a form spanning the battery modules 20 using one long output member 40, which is advantageous in reducing weight and cost, improving the integration degree and energy density of the battery 100, simplifying the connection structure, and improving the space utilization rate within the housing 10.
[0192] Alternatively, the two output ends may be respectively installed on two battery cells 21 located at the ends of the outermost battery module 20 in the second direction Y, which is advantageous for shortening the length of the two output members 40, thereby reducing weight and cost, and improving the integration density and energy density of the battery 100.
[0193] In addition, the embodiments and features of the embodiments in the present application can be combined with each other as long as they are not contradictory.
