Abstract

Provided herein is a maturation medium and method for maturing early embryonic human cardiac organoid into mature human cardiac organoid.Maturation medium comprises cell growth medium, which comprises one or more fatty acids, triiodothyronine (T3) growth hormone, insulin, one or more antioxidants, sugar and carnitine; one or more additional fatty acids; additional carnitine or creatine; and additional T3 growth hormone.Maturation medium can further comprise one or more of additional sugars, additional antioxidants and growth factor.Method comprises contacting early embryonic human cardiac organoid with one or more maturation medium to produce mature human cardiac organoid.
